Who wants to be a male model after being reborn? I want to be a male god.
Chapter 440 Everyone's Reborn, Who's Still a Male Model?
Chapter 440 Everyone's Reborn, Who's Still a Male Model? (The Finale)
Xu Wen was engrossed in his work.
As the year draws to a close, there are more and more things to wrap up, and I'm basically working overtime every day.
While I was working diligently, I suddenly received a text message on my phone.
Normally, Xu Wen would definitely wait until he finished his work before looking at it.
But when he glanced at it casually, he discovered that the sender was Cao Yanan.
Xu Wen thought something had happened at the bar, so he quickly turned on his phone to check.
The text message was very simple, consisting of only one line.
"She's back, at the bar."
Upon seeing the text message, Xu Wen was stunned for a moment.
His heart suddenly exploded in his chest.
The work at hand suddenly lost its meaning.
Xu Wen's body moved faster than his thoughts.
The car keys on the table were grabbed.
My body sprang up before my consciousness could react, knocking over the coffee cup beside me.
The dark brown liquid splashed out, quickly leaving a messy stain on the snow-white paper, and dripped onto the ground.
Xu Wen was completely unaware.
He rushed towards the office door.
Just as he was about to reach the elevator, a quiet figure stirred.
Lan Qiusheng stood there, and it was unclear how long he had been standing there.
Her voice was soft, yet it reached Xu Wen's ears clearly: "Be careful on the road, the snow is heavy."
There were no questions, no obstacles, only a very ordinary piece of advice.
Xu Wen stopped in his tracks and then turned around abruptly.
Lan Qiusheng simply watched him quietly.
Her eyes were calm and serene, yet they seemed to encompass all the unspoken words.
That glance, that word of advice, made Xu Wen feel extremely heavy-hearted.
He didn't have time to think it through, and he couldn't afford to linger at that moment.
Gu Xingruo finally appeared after more than a year. She was at the bar right now, and he had to rush over there immediately.
Xu Wen ultimately failed to utter a single word.
He simply nodded slightly, then disappeared completely into the light at the end of the corridor outside the door.
After Xu Wen left, Lan Qiusheng finally came out from behind his desk.
She walked up to Xu Wen's office.
My gaze swept over the mess of coffee stains and the overturned cup, and the remaining work on the screen.
Lan Qiusheng stretched out his hand, his fingertips hovering above the overturned coffee cup, and paused for a few seconds.
In the end, she simply brushed past the financial statement document, which had a corner stained with coffee.
Then, she withdrew her hand, turned around, and silently left the office.
The roar of the engine filled the air.
Xu Wen had just fastened his seatbelt when he quickly started the car and drove away.
It was snowing outside, so visibility wasn't great.
But this did not affect his speed at all.
The cold air, mixed with fine snow, lashed against the windshield.
The glow of the streetlights became hazy and thin amidst the swirling snowflakes.
It barely illuminated the slippery road ahead.
Xu Wen floored the accelerator.
The car suddenly lurched forward on the slippery road.
On the windshield, the wipers were on the highest setting, swinging wildly from side to side, scraping two rapidly swaying fan-shaped lines of vision across the glass.
Vision remained blurry, but this did not affect Xu Wen.
Over the past year, he has become intimately familiar with the route from the company to the bar.
His heart was pounding so hard that each beat felt deafening to Xu Wen.
For some reason, Xu Wen suddenly recalled the time he spent as a male model in his previous life.
He could even vividly recall how, in the dimly lit booth, a seemingly casual little gesture instantly ignited a flame in the other person's eyes.
How to easily break down a stranger's defenses with a low laugh and ambiguous whispers.
Those skills were his weapons for survival.
He had abandoned these "weapons," but whenever he needed to interact with girls, he found that it seemed like these were all he knew.
Xu Wen gave a self-deprecating laugh.
Reborn, he abandoned the seemingly easy but undignified old path and struggled upwards with all his might.
Now he has finally reached a height he had never achieved before, and is even able to build a sanctuary for Gu Xingruo.
Xu Wen didn't know why he suddenly thought of these things.
Is it nervousness?
Is it because we haven't seen each other for too long?
Or was it subconsciously that, when facing her, he still felt like Xu Wen, who needed to use skills to gain attention?
He never imagined that he would one day feel nervous.
The wind and snow intensified.
Dense snowflakes pounded wildly against the windshield, only to be roughly swept away by the wipers.
His vision flickered between light and darkness, mirroring the turmoil in his mind.
Xu Wen took a deep breath and then smiled with relief.
Perhaps he doesn't need to do anything; he just needs to be himself.
All those past events have been forgotten.
He is Xu Wen, who has been given a second chance at life.
Xu Wen felt the various sounds gradually fading away, and he felt less nervous.
He would slowly tell Gu Xingruo about what had happened over the past four hundred days.
If one day isn't enough, then two days, or even longer, will suffice.
With a sharp turn, the wheels briefly lost traction on the slippery snow, and the car lurched violently.
Xu Wen gripped the steering wheel firmly, a thin layer of sweat breaking out on his back.
We were getting closer and closer to the familiar "Serendipity" sign.
Upon arriving at the bar entrance, Xu Wen slammed on the brakes.
He didn't even bother to straighten the car completely.
The engine was turned off, the key was removed, and the car door was opened—all done in one smooth motion.
The young waiter at the door clearly recognized Xu Wen.
His face instantly broke into a respectful yet slightly nervous smile as he quickly stepped forward to open the door.
Xu Wen, however, was one step ahead of him, his hand already on the cold, slippery doorknob.
"Mr. Xu, you..." The waiter's words caught in his throat.
"Where is Cao Yanan? What about the people she brought?" Xu Wen asked very quickly.
He scanned the crowded bar interior anxiously, trying to find that figure.
"Sister Cao is here, in the VIP area! Sister Gu is here too!" the waiter quickly replied.
He was taken aback by the unusual urgency emanating from Xu Wen and subconsciously stepped aside.
Xu Wen said no more and forcefully pushed open the heavy glass door.
Ignoring the surprised looks from the crowd in the bar, he strode towards the VIP area.
Just as he was a few steps away from the curtain, it was suddenly flung open from the inside.
Cao Yanan's face, clearly showing impatience, was revealed.
She seemed to be about to come out when she bumped into Xu Wen, who was walking briskly towards her.
Their eyes met amidst the noisy background noise.
Cao Yanan was taken aback at first, then her eyes, which held a hint of fierceness, swept over Xu Wen from head to toe. Her brows furrowed habitually.
But a hint of relief, as if thinking, "You've finally arrived," flickered deep in his eyes.
She didn't speak, but simply gestured towards the inside of the curtain with her lips.
Then he stepped aside to make way for the passage.
As they brushed past each other, Cao Yanan lowered her voice, her tone carrying a hint of despair:
“The person is inside, handle it yourself! I told her that if she doesn’t see Xu Wen, I’ll find her a young master so we sisters can have some fun, but she absolutely refuses to have a young master. I told her the young master will be here soon.”
Before leaving, Cao Yanan made a little joke, which could be seen as a retaliation against the young couple.
She really sacrificed too much for their relationship.
When Cao Yanan first met Xu Wen, she thought he looked like the young master of her family's karaoke bar, and she almost misunderstood him at the time.
Now she looks back.
As time goes by, Xu Wen's face has become more mature, but he still looks very much like him.
After successfully pulling off the prank, Cao Yanan pushed through the crowd without looking back and strode quickly toward the bar, leaving behind only a crisp and decisive silhouette.
Xu Wen's steps abruptly stopped in front of the curtain.
He looked down at himself and realized he really looked like he was about to go to work.
All the complex emotions I once felt have disappeared.
Xu Wen discovered that he seemed completely unaffected.
I can accept this little joke now.
Having not worked for so many years, I wonder if his "male model" skills have declined.
Xu Wen raised his hand and gently lifted the curtain of the VIP room.
The scene inside the VIP box immediately came into view.
Gu Xingruo sat on the large main sofa.
She was slightly curled up, still wrapped in Cao Yanan's large black down jacket, the zipper pulled all the way up to her chin.
Tears still clung to her cheeks, glistening faintly in the dim light; her eyes were swollen and red, and the tip of her nose was also red.
Her once golden hair has now grown into large patches of black, with some strands hanging loosely.
On the glass coffee table in front of her was a wine glass that had hardly been touched, with most of the ice having melted.
Hearing the curtain being lifted, she suddenly looked up, her red and swollen eyes filled with wariness and deep grievance.
That look pierced Xu Wen's heart instantly.
Eyes facing each other.
The air seemed to freeze.
The music and the noise outside seemed to be completely shut out by this small space.
The moment Gu Xingruo saw who it was, her eyes quickly shifted from wariness and grievance to disbelief.
Then came the anger of being fooled.
She seemed about to question Cao Yanan.
Her lips moved, but no sound came out. Her swollen, red eyes were fixed on Xu Wen, and tears welled up inside them, making them look like they were about to fall.
Just a second before that suffocating silence and Gu Xingruo's surging tears were about to burst forth, Xu Wen moved.
He stepped into the private room and pulled the heavy curtain shut behind him, completely isolating himself from the outside world.
Instead of walking towards her, he leaned against the door frame in an extremely relaxed manner.
His eyes and brows even carried a hint of the languid ease he had acquired from his past life in the world of pleasure.
The dim, ambiguous light fell on his well-defined profile, outlining his deep features.
He tilted his head slightly, and the corners of his lips curved upwards in a perfectly symmetrical arc.
It wasn't gentleness, nor excitement, but rather a seductive charm tinged with cynicism.
That was his signature smile from a past life, which had made countless customers willing to spend a fortune.
He spoke lightly, his gaze sweeping over Gu Xingruo's tear-streaked yet still radiant face:
"Beautiful lady." The address carried a hint of casual flirtation. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Am I alright?"
He paused deliberately, then continued, "If you don't think it's good enough, or you're not satisfied..."
Xu Wen shrugged, his smile deepening, tinged with a roguish helplessness. "Just say the word, and I'll go out and get you a newer, more handsome pair?"
After he finished speaking, the entire VIP room fell into a deathly silence.
Time seems to be stretched infinitely.
Xu Wen remained in that position leaning against the door frame.
A carefully crafted, playful smile graced his face.
one second.
two seconds.
Cao Yanan's irritable and vague words, "I found you the best young master to accompany you for drinks."
Xu Wen's deliberately frivolous demeanor and professional smile, along with his phrase "Change the batch," were striking.
"puff!"
A laugh with a heavy nasal tone suddenly escaped from Gu Xingruo's tightly pursed lips.
Then, the laughter could no longer be contained.
Her shoulders trembled violently at first, then she bent over laughing, curled up in the large sofa, and buried her face deep in the oversized black down jacket.
"Haha, cough cough, haha." The laughter grew louder and louder, with obvious sobs and cracking in the voice, and tears welled up again.
But this time, the tears were not tears of sorrow.
She laughed until she was weak all over and could barely breathe.
"Xu Wen, you bastard! So-and-so needs to be replaced!" She laughed so hard she could barely breathe.
Gu Xingruo raised her face, which was flushed from laughing.
She sniffed sharply, hastily wiping away her tears with her sleeve, her swollen eyes shining brightly.
She stared intently at the man at the door with a reckless determination.
Gu Xingruo almost shouted it out, her voice thick with sobs and an undeniable air of dominance:
"I only want you! Xu Wen! I don't want anyone else! I only want you!"
The last few words almost exhausted all her strength.
The moment the words left his mouth, the carefully crafted smile on Xu Wen's face vanished.
His tense body relaxed instantly, and the posture of leaning against the door frame vanished.
Xu Wen staggered forward a large step and rushed to the sofa.
All the skills, all the disguises, all the past dreams, turned to dust at this moment.
Xu Wen reached out and pulled the girl wrapped in the oversized down jacket into his arms!
The force with which the arms clenched was astonishing, as if it wanted to knead her entire being into its bones and blood, filling the void left by those four hundred days and nights, or even longer.
Gu Xingruo buried her head in Xu Wen's chest, her cold tears instantly soaking through the front of his shirt.
"Alright, alright, I won't change it anymore, I won't change it anymore. No one can change it, no one can replace me. Ruoruo, I'm here, I've always been here." He lowered his head, his chin resting on the top of her soft hair.
Xu Wen repeated it over and over, like soothing a frightened kitten.
The fingers that had effortlessly wiped away the tears of different guests on countless nights in his past life were now trembling without him even realizing it.
He awkwardly raised his hand and carefully stroked her burning cheeks, trying to wipe away the endless tears.
The movements were so gentle.
Cherish it.
Time seemed to stand still at this moment.
The wind and snow were forgotten outside the door; only their pounding hearts and warm tears silently spoke of the longing and reunion that transcended life and death and the long wait.
Xu Wen felt the real warmth and weight in her arms, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath, the breath carrying the faint fragrance of her hair and the slightly salty taste of her tears.
He had lost her forever, and he no longer had the ability to get her back.
This time, he almost lost her again, but in the end she came back. He silently protected her and waited patiently until the day she returned.
He will not let go again.
"I'm not a young lady anymore, will you stop liking me?" Gu Xingruo muttered softly.
“No matter who you are, I will always love you,” Xu Wen replied quickly.
He lifted her head, his voice gentle:
"Welcome home, my lady."
