Chapter 118: Extreme joy leads to sorrow, a bizarre dream!

Chapter 118: Extreme joy leads to sorrow, a bizarre dream!
"Hahaha……"

Monk Daosheng laughed loudly towards the sky and flew away!

When Chen Xi saw this scene, the Buddha head on his neck suddenly looked strange.

"Why do you like to die..."

The Buddha who broke the precepts was surrounded by a fairy belt and grinned.

"Death?"

Chen Xi was stunned and opened his mouth to speak.

However, at this moment, the monk Daosheng's incessant and deafening laughter suddenly stopped!

Next!

"No! That's not right! This is not the Nantianmen!"

Monk Daosheng's voice suddenly became panic-stricken and terrified.

Isn't it Nantianmen?
What on earth could make Monk Daosheng so frightened?
You know, at this time, Monk Daosheng was no different from Bodhisattva Lingji except that he had no attainment and some memory problems.

To make such an existence so frightened, is there some great terror inside the so-called South Gate of Heaven?

Chen Xi's divine ears heard the sound and he was a little surprised and confused for a moment.

He felt like he was being scratched by a cat, and couldn't help but feel curious.

Without even thinking about it, he wanted to use his clairvoyance to get a glimpse of the ascension scene and see what was happening.

But at this moment, Chen Xi felt a little nervous for no reason.

This throbbing impulse forced him not to do so.

He had a feeling that if he really looked over there, something bad might happen.

In this situation, Chen Xi had no choice but to be obedient and listen quietly through his clairaudience.

"No! No no no, there must be something wrong!"

"Yes, I want to go to Lingshan, not Nantianmen!"

"How dare you! I am Lingji Bodhisattva!"

"Om-san-ran-ran-svaha!"

"It's useless, why is it useless!"

"what--"

Monk Daosheng's terrified voice came to an abrupt end with a scream.

Then it started raining.

Chen Xi felt a chill down his spine, not knowing what was going on.

He listened carefully and vaguely heard a series of very strange sounds.

"crunch...crunch...crunch..."

"This, this is?"

Chen Xi's face changed drastically as he understood the meaning of these sounds.

He was extremely sensitive to this kind of sound along the way.

If he heard correctly, this was clearly the sound of chewing flesh and bones!

Monk Daosheng, also known as Lingji Bodhisattva, was actually... eaten?

A being comparable to a god or Buddha was just eaten like that?

What exactly exists behind that 'South Gate of Heaven'?
Chen Xi's scalp tingled, cold sweat broke out, and fear crept into his heart.

Looking back, I was almost able to ascend to heaven.

If the Buddha who broke the precepts had not caused trouble at that time, Monk Daosheng would probably have suffered the same fate as Chen Xi today.

He flew up into the sky with great pride and high expectations, but in the blink of an eye he was chewed up and eaten by an unknown existence. How ironic is that?
Chen Xi still remembers the happy look on Monk Daosheng's face just now.

He said a lot of gibberish, but in the end he died.

It's really a roller coaster ride, with joy turning into sorrow.

Rain drops hit the ground, and the wind blew gently.

Just as the monk Daosheng sang, blood turns to wind, sand turns to rain...

"I didn't expect it, I didn't expect it!"

"What about gods and Buddhas? What about Bodhisattvas?"

"Ascension? Hahaha, go ahead, everyone go!"

"It's better to die. If you die, you won't be crazy anymore..."

Chen Xi lay on the ground, looking at the sky. The fear in his heart made him mutter to himself uncontrollably.

The more he spoke, the more he wanted to laugh, until the smile on his face became more and more exaggerated, looking quite creepy.

His spiritual energy was exhausted, forcing a buzzing sound to form in his ears.

But at this moment, he had no intention of caring about these.

"Hahaha……"

"It's a good death, a wonderful death..."

"You're plotting against me? You deserve to die!"

“Hahahaha, the demon is so crazy that he is pursuing ascension by any means necessary, but the result is that he becomes a dish on another table!”

"Hahaha, I can't take it anymore. Ouch, cough cough cough, I'm laughing so hard that my stomach hurts..."

Chen Xi laughed louder and louder, but the pain in his stomach made him frown.

He reached out his hand and touched his stomach, and found his hands were covered in blood.

It was not until this moment that he suddenly realized.

No wonder it hurt so much, it turned out that he had cut himself open when he was going crazy earlier.

“It hurts…it really hurts…”

"The Yellow Wind Monster also said that if you become a Buddha you won't be afraid of pain anymore. Why don't I believe it?"

Chen Xi muttered to himself as he reached his hand into his stomach and kept pulling out his intestines.

Of course, he did this not because he had nothing to do, nor because he was crazy.

At this time, his intestines were already covered with yellow sand.

Previously, because he was busy dealing with the Yellow Wind Monster, he just stuffed his intestines back in without cleaning them out at all.

The yellow sand had entered his body and was now causing him pain, so naturally he had to clean it up.

Chen Xi was digging out sand, his face twisted and pale with pain.

Blood gushed out, and soon formed a pool of blood. Fortunately, Chen Xi was no longer a mortal at this time. Otherwise, with such serious injuries, he would have gone to heaven long ago.

But even if he didn't die, this kind of injury would make him lose half his life.

Chen Xi's vision went dark and blurred.

The wind and sand carried blood and rain, which fell on his body drop by drop.

He could no longer bear the fatigue, closed his eyes, and passed out in a pool of blood...

It didn't matter that he fainted, but it actually made him have a strange dream!

The him in the dream was the unborn son of the newly-appointed number one scholar and the daughter of the prime minister.

My father was persecuted by evil people and died tragically before he took office, with no trace of his body left.

My mother was taken over by a wicked man, who wanted to eat her flesh and sleep on her skin. But because she was pregnant with me, she had no choice but to submit to the evil.

After giving birth to me, she was afraid that some evil people would harm me, so she wrote a letter in blood and pushed me into the river, hoping that someone would save me and they could meet again in the future.

I floated down the river and was adopted by a monk in the mountains, and became a monk.

When I grew up, I saw the blood letter and decided to avenge my mother.

Although I am a monk, I dug out the heart of the evil man with my own hands just to commemorate the spirit of my father in heaven.

My mother was happy to see her revenge, and I had grown up.

She had no more desire, so she jumped into the river... and committed suicide.

Both of my parents have passed away, and I have no relatives left in this world, so I had to become a monk and concentrate on eating vegetarian food and chanting Buddhist scriptures.

Thanks to the kindness of the Tang King and the guidance of Guanyin, he wanted to go to the West to worship Buddha and seek scriptures.

We headed westward, regardless of wind or rain, and slept in the open air.

At first, I was not alone, I had two servants with me.

But they encountered a big beast on the way and were all eaten.

From then on, I traveled alone, crossing mountains and rivers.

I often wonder when I can reach that sacred mountain and whether I will die on the way.

What should you do if you encounter a bad person?
I am very scared and anxious.

Along the way, I was guilty of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance and doubt.

I would become greedy when I saw the rich people eating white flour buns and living in high-walled courtyards because I was hungry and cold.

I would become angry if I met a bad guy on the road and his only remaining money and valuables were stolen from me.

If I happened to meet a woodcutter, and saw that the mountain was difficult to climb and he wanted to move away instead of taking a detour, I would feel mocking and become infatuated.

When I see refugees who are also starving and cold, fighting for a bite of food, I feel superior and become arrogant.

I would become suspicious of kind-hearted people traveling with me, worrying that they would do something bad to me and try to steal my money, and would misunderstand good people and become suspicious.

Although I went to Lingshan to meet the Buddha, I committed all the five poisons and five evils.

Not only that, I even broke my vow.

The journey is long, how can we eat vegetarian meals every time?

Suffering from hunger and cold, I had to eat wild game from the mountains, and even ants to fill my stomach, which violated the precept against killing.

As I am now, can I really see the Buddha even if I go to Lingshan?
I was anxious all the time and my steps were getting slower and slower.

After many twists and turns, I arrived at Huangfengling.

The sandstorm here is really strong...

I gradually got lost here, with the wind and sand blinding my eyes.

I saw the corpses of many passers-by. Perhaps I will soon end up like them, dying in a foreign land.

I was scared and wanted to go back, even if it meant taking the sutra.
I tried desperately to go back, but I couldn't find the way back.

Finally, I fell into the yellow sand, exhausted.

I cried and shouted continuously until my voice became hoarse and I couldn't make a single sound.

In this situation, I accepted my fate.

I look back on my life and find that from birth to death, it all seems like a tragedy.

And now, this tragedy is coming to an end.

And is the person who caused these tragedies the evil one?

Or is it the ups and downs along the way?
Or is it the difficult road under my feet and the endless yellow sand?

No! None of them...

The person who caused these tragedies...is me.

If it weren't for me, my mother and father might not have boarded that ship to protect the pregnancy.

If I hadn't kept complaining along the way, I wouldn't have disturbed the tiger, causing the two followers to die in its mouth.

If it weren't for my weak will and constant anxiety, how could I have gotten lost in this Huangfeng Ridge?
Yeah...it's all me.

I cried so hard that my eyes and nose were running, and I looked very miserable.

I held tightly to the nine-ring staff given by the Bodhisattva, waiting quietly for death.

This is my only burial object. No one can take it away except me!
When I thought of this, I couldn't help but hug her tighter, even pressing her tightly under my body.

Gradually, I became weaker and weaker.

My vision gradually blurred and my life came to an end.

However, at this moment, I vaguely saw someone walking towards this direction in the distance.

It’s too late. It’s too late…

I opened my mouth desperately, wanting to call out to him, but no sound came out.

The man came closer and closer, and I slowly saw his appearance clearly.

The man looked exactly like me, and he was followed by a toad and a moving stone.

It was not until this moment that I suddenly realized that he... was me.

He stepped on the yellow sand above my head, without looking back, and continued to go deeper into Huangfeng Ridge.

Although he is me, he is more persistent and determined than me, and is never held back by anxiety.

Is it because of... that toad?

I smiled with relief and closed my eyes.

correct!

My name is Chen Xi. When you see this sentence, I will be dead...
