Chapter 107: The golden hoop calms the monkey, and Che Chi brings good news!
"Master, Lao Sun is coming out!"
Looking at the thing kneeling in front of him, he had round eyes, pointed ears, a hairy face, a thunder god's mouth, a thin face, a pointed mouth and sunken cheeks. His body was like a monkey eating pine cones. Although he looked like a human, he had fewer cheeks than a human.
Tang Sanzang was surprised and happy at the same time. Although he was a little ugly, he finally had a disciple.
The thin and yellow-haired figure bowed four times to the unsteady Tang Sanzang, and without waiting for Tang Sanzang to reply, he quickly stood up, walked to the middle-aged strong man Liu Bochin who was also frightened, raised his hand and bowed, and said, "Thank you for sending my master away, and thank you for pulling the weeds for me."
He remembered that this man had helped him pull out the grass on his face and the sand under his jaw.
But after thanking him directly, he didn't wait for Liu Bochin to reply, but walked quickly to the front of the horse and was about to put away his gift.
But before he got close to the horse, he saw that the horse had a weak waist and weak hooves, and was so frightened that it was trembling and could not stand steadily, and was about to fall to the ground.
The thin yellow-haired figure saw it and immediately reacted. He immediately suppressed his breath, walked to the horse again, touched the horse's neck, and said softly: "Good horse, don't be afraid."
Fan Ma then slowly stood up straight.
Looking at the thin figure who thanked Taibao, treated the horse patiently, and was now packing his luggage.
Tang Sanzang, who finally came to his senses, was delighted and couldn't help thinking, "He really looks like a monk. That's great." He then asked, "Disciple, what's your last name?"
The thin figure said, "My last name is Sun."
Tang Sanzang said again: "I will give you a Dharma name, so that it will be easier to call you, okay?"
The thin figure said: "Thank you for your kindness, Master. I actually have a Dharma name."
Speaking of it.
The thin yellow-haired figure who was packing his luggage suddenly remembered something, looked up at the sky, and then said, "My Dharma name is Sun Wukong, and I won't change it."
"Sun Wukong"
Tang Sanzang was delighted when he heard this and said, "Your Dharma name is good, and it suits our Buddhist sect. But you look like that little ascetic. I'll give you a nickname, Xingzhe. Do you think it's okay?"
"Walker."
"Sun Xingzhe."
Hearing his master's words, Sun Wukong was stunned for a moment, then repeated them twice, nodded and said happily: "Okay, from now on I will be called Sun Xingzhe."
Liu Boqin, who was standing by, looked at the monkey packing his luggage. He was well-behaved and sensible, then looked up at the sky. He smiled and said, "Elder, you are lucky to have a good disciple this time. It is really a good thing. With this disciple following me, I will take my leave."
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang immediately bowed and thanked him, saying, "Thank you, Taibao. I am very grateful."
After some pleasantries.
Liu Bochin turned around.
Tang Sanzang continued on his journey with his new disciple Sun Wukong.
Walking past the Liangjie Mountain that has collapsed and no longer exists.
Not long after, they encountered a white-browed tiger in a lush forest.
All I heard was a tiger roar.
The horse under Tang Sanzang suddenly started to panic, and Tang Sanzang on the horse was so frightened that he almost fell off the horse.
Sun Xingzhe, who was leading the horse in front, saw the tiger and said happily, "Master, don't be afraid. It is here to bring me clothes."
As he spoke, Sun Xingzhe pulled out a needle from his ear and shook it in the wind. The needle immediately turned into a thick iron rod. He then laughed and said, "Hey, I haven't used it for five hundred years. Today I'll use it to buy some clothes."
Say it.
Sun Xingzhe pointed his iron rod at the tiger in front of him and shouted, "You beast, you are courting death!"
This loud shout came out.
The tiger blocking the road was already frightened and dared not move at all. It only had time to let out a shrill scream before being hit on the head by an iron rod. Its brain burst, and it was a horrible sight.
At the back, Tang Sanzang, who was on horseback, looked at the scene in front of him and was suddenly shocked again. In addition, the horse under him was frightened and finally fell off. Perhaps because of his strong and tall body, Tang Sanzang was not injured when he fell. He just stared at his new disciple with wide eyes, saying in shock: "Oh my God, a few days ago, Liu Taibao fought the tiger for a long time before scaring it away. Today, Wukong beat the tiger to pieces with just one stick. It's really amazing."
Half a day later.
It's getting late.
Tang Sanzang and his disciple Sun Xingzhe knocked on the gate of a courtyard.
An old man opened the door and was horrified when he saw Sun Wukong: "Ghost! Ghost!"
Tang Sanzang stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Don't be afraid, old donor. I am from the Tang Dynasty and would like to go to the West to worship Buddha and seek scriptures. It is getting dark, so I would like to stay for one night and leave before dawn tomorrow morning."
The old man calmed down and took a closer look at the handsome and tall Tang Sanzang with a gentle smile. He then nodded and said, "You are a Tang person, but that evil ghost is not a Tang person, so you are not a Tang person."
Seeing the old man scolding him, Sun Wukong immediately said in a stern voice: "You old man have no manners at all. My master is from the Tang Dynasty, I am his disciple, and I am the Great Sage Equaling Heaven. Many of you here have seen me, and I have also seen you, old man!"
Old man: "When have you seen me?"
Sun Xingzhe: "When you were a child, didn't you chop wood in front of me? Didn't you pull vegetables? I am the Great Sage in the Stone Box of the Two Worlds. Take a closer look!"
Old man: “.”
After much persuasion.
The old man then let the strange two masters and apprentices into the yard.
Early the next morning.
When the master and disciple walked out of the yard.
Sun Wukong was now wearing a tiger-skin short coat and a short skirt, covering his originally naked, furry body.
The two masters and apprentices traveled through mountains and rivers all the way.
In the blink of an eye, it is early winter.
The weather is getting colder.
One day at noon.
Seeing white snowflakes floating in the sky, Tang Sanzang, who was sitting on horseback, shivered with cold. When Sun Xingzhe, who was leading the horse in front, was exploring the way, he suddenly saw six big men jumping out from the corner of the dense forest in front of him. Each of them was holding a long spear, a short sword, a sharp blade and a strong bow. They looked at the two masters and apprentices and shouted, "Leave the horses, put down the luggage, and I will spare your lives!"
"If not!"
"Just like this tree!"
As he spoke, the leading man chopped a piece of wood as thick as his arm into two pieces with one knife.
Such a scene frightened Tang Sanzang so much that he lost his soul and fell off his horse again, unable to speak for a long time.
Sun Xingzhe stepped forward and said, "Master, don't be afraid. It's just a small matter. It's cold outside. These are money and clothes for us."
Sun Xingzhe hadn't finished speaking yet.
Tang Sanzang immediately looked at his disciple as if he were a fool and said, "Wukong, are you hard of hearing? Those bad guys are just highway robbers who wanted to rob us, but you said he wanted to give us clothes and money?"
Sun Xingzhe ignored Tang Sanzang's words and said, "Master, you just take care of the luggage and horses. I will fight with them and then we will know."
Say it.
Sun Xingzhe walked straight forward and didn't say a few words to the six big robbers.
He was hacked and chopped on the head by the six big men, which frightened Tang Sanzang behind him so much that he didn't dare to open his eyes, for fear of seeing his new disciple die tragically on the spot.
But all I heard was the sound of metal.
After waiting for a long time without hearing his disciple's scream, Tang Sanzang immediately opened his eyes and saw...
His disciple Sun Wukong, holding an iron rod as thick as a bowl, was beating the six robbers who were fleeing in panic one by one, causing their brains to burst and die on the spot.
He saw his apprentice stripping clothes off the six people he had killed and snatching their money. Then he walked over with a smile on his face and said, "You can go now, Master. All the robbers have been killed by me."
But at this time, Tang Sanzang's face was already livid. He looked at his disciple and said angrily: "You have caused a great disaster. Although they are robbers who blocked the road, they are not guilty of death even if they meet the government. If you have the ability, just drive them away. How can you bear to beat them to death!?"
"How can you be a monk if you kill people for no reason like this?"
"When a monk sweeps the floor, he is afraid of killing ants, and he cherishes the moths that fly around the lamp. Why did you kill them all without any reason? You have no compassion at all!"
"This is a wilderness and forest, so no one can investigate. But if we were in a town or village, and someone bumped into you, would you kill them as well?"
"I am innocent. If I am implicated by you, how can I escape? How can I go to the West to worship Buddha and seek scriptures?!"
Tang Sanzang's scolding made Sun Xingzhe's eyebrows jump, but he still endured it, squinted his eyes and looked at his master and said: "Master, if I don't kill them, they will kill you."
Tang Sanzang showed disgust and did not appreciate it at all. He immediately said, "A monk would rather die than kill anyone. Besides, even if I die, it's just one person, but you killed six of them. If this matter is reported to the government, even if your father is an official, it will not be justified!"
Hearing that his master was still so pedantic, Monkey King could not help but retort, "To be honest, Master, when I was the king of the Flower-Fruit Mountain five hundred years ago, I killed countless people. If I were to be as fearful as Master, I would never be able to become the Great Sage Equaling Heaven!"
Hearing that Sun Wukong not only refused to admit his fault but also dared to refute him, Tang Sanzang cursed him with even more disgust: "It is because you have no one to discipline you that you act recklessly, commit crimes, bully the world, deceive the heavens and deceive the gods, that you have been suppressed for the past five hundred years!"
"Since you have entered my Buddhist sect, you should sincerely repent. If you continue to commit crimes and kill people as you did before, you don't need to be a monk anymore, let alone follow me to the West!"
"How awful! How awful!"
Since becoming the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, Sun Wukong had never suffered such humiliation of being pointed at and scolded. He was so angry at this moment that he really wanted to stab this pedantic monk to death with a stick. However, this monk was appointed by Guanyin Bodhisattva, and he didn't want to be pressed under the Five Elements Mountain again, so he was naturally afraid.
He dared not kill, nor did he dare to hit. Sun Wukong was so angry that his face turned red. He scratched his ears and cheeks, and said angrily: "Since you think this of me, saying that I can't be a monk, can't enter the Buddhist sect, and can't go to the West, just say it directly. I will go back. Why say so much!"
Hearing what Sun Wukong said.
"Humph!"
Tang Sanzang just looked at Sun Wukong coldly, snorted coldly, turned his head and ignored him.
Looking at the monk in front of him, Sun Wukong was so angry that he was scolded for killing a few robbers who blocked his way. But after being suppressed for five hundred years, he finally knew fear in his heart. He just said to go back, but it was just a test. Seeing that the monk still ignored him, he was so angry that he said, "Forget it, I'm leaving now!"
Say it.
Sun Wukong leaped forward, turned around and flew rapidly towards the eastern sky, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Tang Sanzang turned around hastily upon hearing the sound. He looked behind him, at the empty space behind him, at the bodies of several bandits lying in the distance in miserable states of death. He suddenly felt a surge of fear in his heart. He finally knew what fear was. He could not help but complain: "This fellow is so unteachable. I just said a few words, why did he run away on his own?"
"Forget it, forget it. It was not my destiny to recruit a disciple. Now I can't find him anywhere, and I can't get him to respond to my calls."
"Eh"
After feeling sad for a long time, seeing that it was getting late, Tang Sanzang had no choice but to pack his luggage. Then, holding the staff in one hand and the reins in the other, he walked towards the western mountain road alone.
Not long after.
Tang Sanzang saw an old woman appear on a hill ahead. She was holding a cotton-padded jacket with a flower hat on it and walked straight towards him.
Two flowers bloomed,
Each one shows one.
the other side.
Sun Wukong left in anger, but he didn't really want to leave. He was just upset from being scolded and wanted to find a place to vent his anger.
At the same time, he also planned to scare the monk.
Although he had been suppressed for more than five hundred years and his character had changed a lot, and although he obeyed the words of Guanyin Bodhisattva and wanted to protect the monk on his journey to the West to obtain the scriptures, he was not made of clay and had his own temper. It was time to give the monk a good blast and let him know that he, the Monkey King, also had a temper and could not be scolded casually.
At this time, after a few somersaults, it arrived at the coast of the East China Sea, pressed down the clouds, and went straight into the sea.
Sun Wukong's search for the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea was as familiar as his return to the Flower-Fruit Mountain. He quickly arrived at the gate of the palace. The crab general in charge of guarding the gate had seen some scenes before. When he saw the monkey with a hairy face and a thunder god's mouth, he immediately recognized who the visitor was. He was scared half to death and crawled back to the palace to report.
Inside the Dragon Palace, when Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East China Sea, who was dressed in luxurious robes and had a dragon head on his head, learned that Sun Wukong, who had caused a havoc in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago, was coming to visit, he immediately frowned.
The journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures and the Buddhist mission of spreading Buddhism in the Southern Continent and the Eastern Land were major events that had not occurred in the Heavenly Palace and Lingshan for many years.
Ao Guang knew this of course, and he also knew that Sun Wukong was one of the people who escorted the pilgrims to the West to seek the true scriptures.
"Shouldn't the Plague God be protecting the pilgrim on his way to the West to obtain the scriptures?"
"Why did you come to the East China Sea?"
Although he was confused, disgusted and disgusted in his heart, Ao Guang still had to hold his nose and go to meet the Sun Wukong, because the other party was now on the way to the Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Lingshan Mountain in the West.
"I heard that it is difficult for the great saint to be satisfied."
Soon, the smiling East Sea Dragon King Ao Guang personally came to the dragon's mouth and greeted Sun Wukong with a smile: "I am sorry for the old dragon. Now that the Great Sage has returned, are you going to rebuild the fairy mountain and return to the ancient cave?"
"Hey"
“Don’t mention it.”
Sun Wukong, who was annoyed, shook his head when he heard Ao Guang's words. However, he also knew that although the Dragon King of the East China Sea was enthusiastic, he didn't know how to plot against him in his heart. But he really had nowhere to go at the moment, so he said, "Old Dragon King, don't worry. I'm just depressed this time, so I came here to ask for a glass of wine."
Hearing what Sun Wukong said.
Ao Guang felt a little relieved, and then he smiled even more: "Since the Great Sage wants to drink, Old Dragon will accompany you. Please come this way."
Soon.
Sun Wukong and Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East China Sea, sat at a table filled with delicious food, accompanied by several ministers from the Dragon Palace.
At the banquet.
Sun Wukong explained the reason for his distress.
Dragon King Ao Guang and his ministers tried to persuade him with good intentions.
Listening to the flattery of the Dragon King and the water creatures, and eating delicious food and wine after many years, Sun Wukong's annoyance was naturally mostly gone.
After a banquet.
He knew that it was not appropriate to leave the weak monk alone.
Sun Wukong did not stay any longer. He bid farewell to the Dragon King, turned around and flew straight into the sky. With a somersault cloud, he rushed straight towards the Southern Continent.
Tang Sanzang, holding a brocade robe and a flowery hat in his hands, watched the old woman transform into a golden light and leave. He knew that it was the incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva who gave her the "Calming Mantra", so he quickly burned incense and kowtowed to her.
Subsequently.
Tang Sanzang hid the brocade clothes and flowery hat in the package.
Then he sat on a stone beside a creek on the side of the road and recited the "Calming Mantra" also known as the "Tightening Curse" to himself until he knew it by heart, and then he stopped and waited quietly.
Not long after.
Then he saw a yellow figure coming from the eastern sky. Tang Sanzang was overjoyed, but he pretended to be calm on his face.
Since Sun Wukong met Guanyin Bodhisattva on the way, he knew that he had been a little rash to leave Tang Sanzang alone. He felt a little guilty when he came back. He looked at Tang Sanzang sitting by the water and said, "Master, why don't you hurry on your way? What are you doing sitting here?"
Tang Sanzang saw his monkey disciple at this time. Although he was still very angry, he had a guilty conscience and said, "Where have you been? There are many mountains and dense forests ahead. How can I dare to go?"
Sun Wukong: "I'm going to the Dragon King's house in the East China Sea to ask for a cup of tea."
Tang Sanzang: "Disciple, monks do not tell lies, what about the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea?"
Having said this, Tang Sanzang immediately remembered what Guanyin Bodhisattva had taught him, so he stopped talking immediately, calmed down, and said with a sigh: "Hey, I was a little harsh when I spoke before, but it was also for your own good. Can you bear to abandon me? You are so capable, you can go to the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea to eat and drink well, but I, the incompetent master, can only be here exposed to the wind and starve."
Sun Wukong naturally understood what the monk was thinking, and laughed in his heart, saying, "Master, if you are hungry, I will go and get some vegetarian food for you."
Tang Sanzang: "No need to beg for food. I still have some bread from last time in my bag. Go get it for me. And take the bowl and fetch some water."
Upon hearing the voice, Sun Wukong immediately walked over to pay his respects and began to search.
Tang Sanzang sat aside, following Sun Wukong with his eyes, but he became more and more nervous.
Soon, Sun Wukong found a brocade robe and a flowered hat as he wished, and immediately shouted, "Master, this dress is beautiful, where did you get it? Can I try it on?"
Tang Sanzang became more and more nervous, but he forced himself to remain calm and said, "That was from my childhood. If you like it, I will give it to you."
When Sun Wukong heard this, he could no longer suppress his thoughts and immediately put on brocade clothes and a flowery hat.
When Tang Sanzang, who was standing by, saw Sun Wukong put on the hat, he immediately started chanting the "Calming Mantra".
aside.
Sun Wukong felt that the hat on his head suddenly became tighter, as if it was going to pierce into his head. The pain was unbearable. When he turned around, he saw the monk next to him just looking at him coldly, muttering something.
A good while.
Sun Wukong held the golden hoop in his hand, his eyes were red, and he stared at the monk in front of him with fierce eyes. After a long time, he fell to his knees and begged, "Master, this is the way that the Bodhisattva specifically used to deal with me. You want me to go west with you. Please stop chanting. I am willing to protect you and I will never regret it again."
Hear this.
Tang Sanzang was overjoyed, thinking that he had finally found a way to control the monkey. He said in a good mood, "If that's the case, then help me get on the horse."
Sun Wukong had no choice but to stand up and touch the golden hoop on his head that was deeply embedded in his skull, grimacing in pain.
Then he dejectedly helped Tang Sanzang to mount his horse and headed west.
As the saying goes: The golden hoop calms the monkey’s mind, there is no more Sage Equal to Heaven in the world, only the Fighting Buddha of Lingshan remains.
Five months later.
Yingchoujian.
Tang Sanzang took Sun Wukong to subdue the Third Prince of the Dragon King of the West Sea and transformed his dragon horse into a white horse.
half year later.
Gao Laozhuang.
Sun Wukong cleverly captured the reincarnation of Marshal Tianpeng, the pig demon Zhu Ganglie, and Tang Sanzang happily gained a second disciple, whose Buddhist name was: Zhu Bajie.
one year later.
Liusha River.
Tang Sanzang got the guilty Heavenly General Curtain-Pulling General as his third disciple, with the Buddhist name: Sha Wujing.
This is the end.
The westward-bound team is now complete and is moving steadily towards the Western Lingshan Mountain.
Xiniu Hezhou.
Jindou Mountain Range.
The peak of Hongfeng Ridge, which was renamed from Hongtou Mountain.
It's another autumn.
The mountains on Hongfeng Ridge are all red, the forests are dyed red, and the scenery is extraordinary.
A tall and handsome figure in a black robe was walking slowly among the fiery red maple forest. Suddenly, he received a message from the manager of Jinshan Temple in Chechi Kingdom, the ghost bear monster Xiong Er: Several strange-looking monks came to the city gate of Chechi Kingdom, claiming to be monks from the Tang Dynasty in the East.
“The quest team.”
The black-robed figure paused, his eyes suddenly changed, and golden light shone in his eyes: "Are you finally here?"
