Chapter 43 Planning
hum-

Deep below the ground, a ring vibrated.

"My baby~"

A dirty hand was stroking it, gripping it tightly.

...

"The more powerful one is, the easier it is for them to be blinded by power and be seduced. But they will not have a good ending in the end, because there is only one true owner of that thing from beginning to end."

"Isildur, who once held the ring, was bewitched before the volcano and eventually died in the Golden Iris Swamp south of here, and the ring was lost there or flowed into the sea."

At the foot of the mountain, Gandalf walked in front, talking about the major historical events that had taken place in this area.

Levi walked behind and listened silently, nodding occasionally.

"If we had kicked him down into the crater, wouldn't there have been so many problems later?"

Gandalf glanced at him.

"Everything has its own inevitable logic, Levi. The possibility you mentioned will never happen even if the scene at that time is repeated a hundred times or a thousand times."

The relationship between them is too complicated.

"Okay, I take your word for it."

The two walked and talked as they went, discussing random things, quite leisurely.

It was as if the battle just experienced was just an illusion.

Of course, Levi couldn't keep fighting with the Orcs, so after blocking the door at the beginning, he fought and retreated all the way. Maybe the Orcs were really scared of being killed, or maybe it was because the battle was too sudden, the Orcs' subsequent pursuit seemed quite weak, and the two men ran out of the mountains soon.

But then again.

Gandalf had a very strange feeling.

As for the man behind me, it is not true that he does not understand history. He does know many secrets from a long time ago that almost no one knows about. But it is not certain that he understands history, because if you ask him some details or common sense that ordinary people may understand, he will answer that he does not know.

Very contradictory.

"Shh-"

On a plain far away from the Misty Mountains, Gandalf suddenly stopped and signaled Levi to be quiet.

"Oak."

Roar!
Accompanied by the growls of the wargs, a group of Orc riders passed by in a large number, heading in one direction.

"I imagine there's an Orc fortress over there, or at least a camp."

Gandalf showed half of his head and looked at the backs of the Orcs.

"So what do we do, to take them down?"

"Oh, no, no, that's too risky. After all, there are only two of us--"

Looking at Levi who looked relaxed, Gandalf's voice suddenly stopped.

It seems like it’s not impossible?

"I think we'd better go investigate first. After all, we don't know how many people there are on the other side."

"Agree."

Although Levi looks relaxed, he actually has some ideas in his mind. After all, if he accidentally affects the Oak army, it will be very difficult to deal with.

Quantitative change leads to qualitative change. When the quantity reaches a certain level, even he will become weak.

"let's go."

Following the Orcs' marching route, the two men, using their robes as cover, soon arrived at a fortress that seemed a bit noisy.

However, rather than saying that this is a fortress, it is more like a temporary camp built with the ruins of a fortress. In the camp, there is a relatively strong-looking little leader named Oak with 20 blood who leads these guys.

At this moment, a large group of Orcs were resting in this dark and damp camp. Occasionally, a few shouts and curses could be heard, which meant that the Orcs were fighting.

"There are a dozen Wargs, and more than a score of Orcs."

Soon, Gandalf counted the enemy's forces.

"Look." He pointed to two Orcs fighting in the distance and said, "Unity is a word that never appears between Orcs. They always fight over trivial matters."

"I think we can do some small guidance, let them fight each other for a while..." Gandalf picked up a small stone, blew it, and threw it at an Orc who was dozing off.

"who is it?!"

Oak, who was standing next to him, was so frightened by the roar that he sat up and immediately became annoyed: "What are you making so much noise for!"

"Did you hit me?"

"So what if I hit you?"

Snapped!
The awakened Oak threw a handful of stones, hitting the Oak opposite him so hard that he couldn't open his eyes.

"Scum!" Oak, who was hit, was angry and rushed forward with a roar.

The two orcs soon began to fight each other.

This kind of thing was just normal in the Oak camp and did not attract any attention. Even the Oaks around seemed to be enjoying the show.

Where there is a dispute, there must be an end.

Soon, one of them fell to the ground with a bruised face and nose, groaning, and it was obvious that he would not be able to move for a while.

"Bah." The other one certainly didn't forget to humiliate.

Looking again, Gandalf next to him had a smirk on his face, and it was obvious that this was not the first time he had done such a thing.

"I often use this method to let them stir up trouble on their own, which can reduce their power without them even realizing it."

"A very smart move."

"Thank you."

Just as Gandalf aimed at the second target and was about to cause internal strife again, Levi stood up directly from their hiding place.

Gandalf paused and looked up at him.

"But it's too troublesome. I think it's faster to just go straight in."

Swah——

The long sword was drawn out, shining with a blue light.

"There are enemies!"

"Roar!"

At the sound of the alarm the Orcs immediately mounted their wolves, and those who had no wolves took up their weapons and followed.

"Oh! How reckless!" Knowing that he could no longer hide, Gandalf immediately stood up and picked up his cane.

"Ahaha, look what I found, a human with a disgusting sword, and - a wizard?"

"Who gave you the courage to come to my territory!"

"Kill them!"

The little leader raised his butcher knife, and the wolf behind him immediately pounced on him.

Boom!
Levi swept across and directly stopped the three riders. The flames ignited from the dry fur of the wolf, burning the Orc riding on it, who screamed and immediately turned over and jumped down.

Gandalf glanced at the fire from behind, and saw that the flames, which were about to be extinguished by the rolling, suddenly jumped up, and were so powerful that they directly ignited the Orcs who were relatively close.

Levi didn't turn around to look, he knew that Gandalf held a ring of fire, a ring that could ignite both fire and hope.

On this side, Levi swept a large area. Wearing black armor, he rushed into the group of Orcs and killed them indiscriminately, facing round after round of attacks from both near and far. He left a field of charred corpses, which made the Orcs behind him tremble with fear.

If I can't afford to offend you, can I not hide from you?
In comparison, the old guy over there looks much easier to bully.

An Orc let out a cry and raised its weapon to rush towards Gandalf, but Gandalf was not in a hurry. He raised his staff and poked it. Based on the principle that an inch longer is an inch stronger, he used the length of his staff to knock the attacking Orc to the ground.

After this poke, he turned around and swung his staff again, hitting another Orc. This time he actually bent the Orc's flimsy armor directly, which surprised Gandalf himself.

The more I use this thing, the more convenient it becomes.

Although Gandalf also fought with great vigor, he was far inferior to Levi. Five or six Orcs soon gathered around him, obviously treating him as their weak link and planning to take down the weak one as a hostage first.

However, Gandalf knocked his staff on the ground, and suddenly a terrible flash of light flashed across the sky above the camp, followed by a smell of gunpowder, and several orcs fell to the ground and died on the spot.
