The dark shadow on the load-bearing pillar flashed by, and apart from Tesa who was the first to spot it, only Lin Bei saw it.

Lin Bei narrowed his eyes slightly and turned to look at Constantine, who was smoking at the back of the line: "What did you sense?"

Lin Bei's words were ambiguous. What he actually meant was that Constantine hadn't seen the dark figure, but he should have been able to sense something, preferably the presence of an old acquaintance.

Constantine had known Lin Bei for so long that he had long understood the meaning behind his words.

Constantine lazily gave Lin Bei the middle finger: "I haven't dealt with every demon. I've never met almost two-thirds of the seventy-two demons. Let's not talk about me, but talk about you, Lin Bei. At least the other party showed itself openly, so why didn't you catch it and let it get away?"

Lin Bei readily accepted Constantine's accusation, shrugging and saying, "Yeah, there's nothing I can do. The other side is very strong, and someone like me can't just be captured easily."

Constantine almost laughed in exasperation: "Stop talking nonsense! Keep moving forward!"

Lin Bei then smiled and continued leading the way.

Compared to the relaxed atmosphere between Lin Bei and Constantine, the atmosphere among Alex, Tessa, and Jerry was somewhat tense.

No, it should be called fear.

Tessa's companions were brutally murdered in this labyrinthine underground, and now they have to come back again. Not only that, Tessa has also seen non-human creatures.

With layers of fear building up, if it weren't for Lin Bei and Constantine being there, they would have long since lost their minds and completely collapsed.

Seeing that Lin Bei was moving again, the trio didn't need to be urged this time and quickly followed.

The group ventured deeper into the darkness, which eventually swallowed them all.

If Lin Bei hadn't been leading the way, they might have lost their way long ago, or even gotten separated from their companions.

No one knew how far they had gone; Alex only knew that there were no more subtle noises around them.

In the darkness, the only sounds that could be heard were their footsteps, faint breathing, and heartbeats.

Alex was on edge, just as he had been when Treve was dragged away.

There was no sound, only darkness everywhere. Suddenly, a semi-transparent gray figure darted out of the darkness and dragged Treve into it.

From the darkness came Treve's screams. They followed the sound and found Treve with his stomach cut open and his internal organs spilling out. But Treve was not dead. He stood there and staggered toward them.

That scene was too impactful for Alex and his two companions. Even now, when facing the darkness, they still hallucinate Trevor's tragic state right before their eyes.

Like now.

Treve reappeared in the darkness ahead, his stomach ripped open, his entrails spilling out onto the ground. His skin was ashen, his eyes bloodshot, and he stared straight at them.

Alex instinctively closed his eyes, trembling as he tried to reassure himself that it was just a hallucination.

Hearing Tessa's terrified cries behind him, Alex couldn't help but say, "Don't be afraid, Tessa, it's an illusion..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Bei's calm voice came from the front: "Illusion? This time it's not an illusion."

Under Alex's astonished gaze, Lin Bei, who was at the front, stopped in his tracks.

He gazed indifferently at the monster in front of him, a dark light flashing in his eyes.

In the original storyline, Trevor didn't die like this, so it seems everything has indeed changed.

The monster before them was clearly a living dead creature whose soul had been forcibly extracted while still alive and then replaced with the souls of other wild beasts.

Constantine, who was at the back of the group, also saw the monster blocking their way. He smoked for a while and said lazily, "Hey Lin Bei, get rid of this annoying monster quickly. If you don't chop it into pieces, it will keep attacking."

Just as Constantine's voice echoed in the darkness, Alex and the other two finally realized that Treve was indeed in front of them.

Tessa's eyes widened, she covered her head with her hands, and finally broke down crying, "We're going to die, we're all going to die!"

The screams and cries seemed to enrage the motionless "Treef" in front of him, who suddenly opened his mouth, his lips split open, and his chin reached his collarbone.

Treve, in a disgusting and terrifying manner, raised his hands and lunged at Lin Bei and the others.

Seeing that "Treff" moved, Alex and his two companions screamed in fright and even turned around and ran back the way they came without thinking.

If Constantine hadn't reacted quickly and stopped them, Alex and his two companions would have already rushed into the darkness and completely lost their way.

Constantine, a cigarette dangling from his lips, shoved the three men to the ground in front of him. Looking down at the terrified Alex and his companions, he exhaled a smoke ring and said lazily, "Why are you running around like that? Didn't we tell you already? Staying with us is the safest thing to do. If you keep wandering off, we won't come looking for you. As for what else you might encounter in the dark, that's not our concern."

Constantine's words had an effect; although they couldn't make the three of them stand up again, they at least brought them back to their senses slightly.

The three huddled together, looking at Constantine with fear and unease. When they saw that Constantine was not looking at them but instead looking up ahead, they followed suit.

Just as the three of them were running around, "Treff" had already arrived in front of Lin Bei.

Just as "Treff" reached out to grab Lin Bei, Lin Bei looked "Treff" up and down, frowned in disgust, and uttered a sentence indifferently.

"The flames are blazing."

It's that fire magic again.

A giant fireball appeared out of thin air, dispelling all the surrounding darkness. The giant fireball rolled and scorched everything around it. "Treff," who was about to pounce on Lin Bei, was right next to the giant fireball. He seemed unable to withstand the intense heat and actually took two steps back.

Lin Bei was not about to give him a chance to escape.
He snapped his fingers, and a giant fireball suddenly swooped down, engulfing Treve in the blink of an eye.

Inside the giant fireball, Treve's figure appeared and disappeared. He could no longer feel pain, but was struggling in the raging flames.

Only when the flames crackled and popped did Treve's figure fall to the ground with a crash, burned to a charred block, unable to move again.

Lin Bei then spoke calmly: "With the body burned to this extent, there's no way to move it. It would be too disgusting to chop it into minced meat."

As the flames gradually died down, Constantine whistled, "Alright, after all, if we were to control this corpse any longer, it would just turn into a pile of charcoal dust. Now that it's resolved, let's move on. The demonic aura here is getting stronger and stronger."

Lin Bei, however, did not move.

He stood there, glancing calmly to his right. Alex and the other two, who had been slumped on the ground, had already gotten up. They noticed Lin Bei's movements, paused for a moment, and then looked over as well.

After the fireball explosion, Alex's eyes had a hard time readjusting to the darkness.

He squinted and stared into the darkness for a long time, so long that Tessa and Jerry started to panic: "Hey Alex, what are you looking at? Is there something over there? You and Mr. Lin Bei are both there..."

Before Tessa could finish speaking, Alex stared in disbelief, trembling as he exclaimed, "I can't believe my eyes! It's...it's Langston! Langston is still alive!"

Alex had studied Langston's "Encounters in the Graveyard" many times and was already very familiar with Langston.

Even though the blurry figure in the darkness was emaciated, Alex still recognized it as his idol, Langston.

The moment Alex saw Langston, he instantly forgot his fear and unease. All he could think about was that he absolutely couldn't let Langston escape. He had to ask him what he had been through here and how he had survived.

Alex stared excitedly at the shadowy figure in the darkness, while Lin Bei remained silent, also staring at the figure.

He could tell at a glance that the guy was still alive, but not far from death.

That's Langston.

The only survivor in the previous film, "Grave Encounters," was also the one who was driven insane by the mental hospital and turned into a servant of the devil.

So, is his appearance now due to the guidance of the devil, or is it his own will?
He's just a fanatical believer now, where does his rationality come from?

Just as Lin Bei was pondering whether to use Langston to lure out the demon behind the scenes, he felt a gust of wind coming from beside him.

He glanced to the side and saw Alex overcome his fear and rush straight toward Langston in the darkness.

Constantine, who was smoking in the back, was so shocked by Alex's actions that he almost burned himself with the ash: "Hey, are you out of your mind?!"

Before Constantine could finish speaking, Alex's excited shouts came from the darkness: "Langston, it's you, Langston! You're still alive! Tell me quickly, what exactly happened to you in this mental hospital? What untold stories does this mental hospital hold? My God, you're still alive! Do you know how much time has passed outside? A full two years!"

Alex's voice echoed in everyone's ears. Perhaps it was his fearless demeanor that inspired Tessa and Jerry, who exchanged glances and then instinctively ran toward Alex.

Constantine rubbed his head in frustration: "Damn it, one or two of them aren't afraid of death. Don't come crying and begging us to save them later."

Lin Bei smiled slightly: "Don't worry, they'll be fine now. Let's go and see what that devil hiding in the shadows is up to."

With that, Lin Bei lifted his foot and followed.

Hearing this, Constantine guessed that Lin Bei had already made a plan. He was happy to relax and followed after him with a cigarette in his mouth.

When Lin Bei and Constantine approached Alex and the other two, they saw a gaunt old man with tattered clothes and a full beard standing in front of them.

Calling him an old man is no exaggeration.

His hair was gray, his cheeks were sunken, and there was almost no flesh on his face and neck. His skin hung loosely on his bones, and his eyes were bulging and bloodshot. Just by looking at him, he looked like an ordinary crazy old man.

Even so, Alex was able to recognize it as Langston, which shows that Alex has really studied Langston's images very thoroughly.

Lin Beiyi stood behind Alex, and Langston, who had been looking at Alex, suddenly looked up.

His bulging eyeballs looked like goldfish's, which was somewhat disgusting.

Lin Bei was a little annoyed by the stare and was about to speak when Langston seemed to notice and quickly looked away, staring straight at Alex.

Alex kept asking Langston, but Langston wouldn't say a word. Now, he could be called a fool, let alone a madman.

Just as Alex was sweating profusely with anxiety, Langston suddenly grinned and revealed a strange smile.

Langston's bloodshot, bulging eyes swept over everyone present. He trembled with excitement: "Great, great! Finally, someone has reached this level! Many people have come before, but none of them made it here alive. Only me, only me! My God, what a pity! It's such a pity that no one is here to share the secret! Now, finally, finally, someone else has come!"

As he spoke, Langston grabbed Alex's wrist and shoved what he was holding in his other hand in front of Alex: "Look, I've been here for over ten years, and I've finally figured out where all the corridors in this mental hospital lead, and I also know where to get out!"

Upon hearing this, Alex and the other two widened their eyes and showed expressions of surprise.

Alex, in particular, immediately took the thick stack of papers from Langston, looked at the dense red lines on them, and quickly discovered the problem.

Each red line connects to a door, and there are simple symbols next to the red lines, seemingly indicating where the door leads.

Finally, all the red lines pointed to a bright red door in the middle.

Next to the bright red gate, the word "Exit" is marked.

Alex was overjoyed. He looked up at Langston with gratitude, his voice trembling slightly. "This is the exit? As expected, Mr. Langston... I knew you wouldn't give up hope of survival. So what do we do now to get out?"

“Come with me, come with me.” Langston gripped Alex’s wrist tightly, pulling him around and into the darkness.

Tessa and Jerry breathed a sigh of relief and quickly followed, completely ignoring Lin Bei and Constantine.

Constantine and Lin Bei stood still.

Constantine frowned, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and turned to look at Lin Bei: "I have a feeling something's not right here."

Lin Bei shrugged and followed the four people who were about to disappear into the darkness: "Is this normal? Are Alex and the other two brainless, and are you brainless too? If Langston really found the exit, wouldn't he have left long ago? As for why he didn't leave, why do you think he led Alex and the other two to the exit?"

Lin Bei didn't explain things clearly, and Constantine's face showed a look of sudden realization.

Why else?
Of course, it's the old tradition of demons: sacrifice.

Langston may have indeed found an exit, but due to the devil's wicked sense of humor, someone must be sacrificed for the exit's crimson gate to be opened.

Langston waited here for more than ten years before finally seeing living people who had successfully reached the underground.

What are you waiting for?
Of course, they couldn't wait to take it over for the sacrifice.

Thinking about what would happen next, Constantine chuckled and exhaled a smoke ring: "That's going to be good." (End of Chapter)
