Chapter 24 My War Is Not Over Yet

Chapter 24 My War Is Not Over Yet
When he regained consciousness, Metzer found himself locked in an empty house. The dizziness had not gone away, all his weapons had been disarmed, and even his injured and bandaged right hand had been tied up.

"It's too dark here for heaven and too cold for hell." The German lieutenant muttered while looking up at the roof.

"Of course, you are not dead yet, so don't worry about those things for now." Metzer knew it was the Oriental man when he heard the German accent from the Ruhr area beside him.

"Eat something. You ate the least at dinner, so you woke up the fastest." The Oriental man handed a piece of food to Metzer's mouth.

"With spices?" The German raised an eyebrow.

"It won't affect your health, it will just make your hands and feet weak for a while, which is good for both you and me." He Chi said bluntly.

The Germans did not resist and cooperated by eating the food in their mouths.

The food was delicious, and the sprinkles on it took effect quickly. Metzer soon felt numbness in his hands and feet.

"You don't seem very surprised?" He Chi sat aside and looked at the blond German in front of him. This guy was an outlier in the entire team. He was extremely alert and almost ruined the entire plan.

"I finally figured out what went wrong before. The other people in this manor care too much about you. It seems that they have to listen to your opinions on everything. Even your so-called mistress will look at you inadvertently. This is not the position that an ordinary butler should have. Who are you? Which side? The French Security Service? The British MI6? Or the Russians?" Metzer did not give a direct answer, but started talking to himself.

"Neither, I'm just an ordinary sergeant from the Foreign Legion." He Chi did not hide anything and showed it his non-commissioned officer certificate.

After confirming that the other party was not joking, Metzer showed a surprised expression for the first time. "How can a talent like you be just a sergeant? Are the leaders of the French Army Department blind? Do you want to consider joining us?"

"I joined the German army in 1918. I wouldn't have gone even if you offered me Hindenburg's position. Besides, you're just a second lieutenant, and you're still held back by your chief officer. If you were the leader this time, I don't think it would be that easy to take you down."

"I joined the army too late. I believe I will get a reasonable promotion as long as I fight in a few battles." There was no complaint on Metzer's stern face.

"Then you don't have much of a chance." In He Chi's memory, in three months this war would have ended with the Germans humiliatingly asking for peace.

"That's right, maybe I will become a corpse tomorrow morning." The German lieutenant understood He Chi's words in a different meaning.

The two men began to ask and answer questions face to face. They did not seem like mortal enemies on the battlefield at all, but rather like a pair of drinking buddies who met by chance on the street.

"How are our people?" the German asked.

"They are all alive. I am not a butcher. There is no need to stain my hands with blood at this time."

"What did you feed us? Can you tell us?"

“A poisonous mushroom from nearby was ground into powder and purified. Not only is the effect enhanced, it can even enhance the flavor when cooking.” He Chi said indifferently. Anyway, it’s unlikely that he would use this trick a second time.

"How did you poison me? I clearly saw you eating the same meat as us, but I just didn't understand why and fell into your trap." Metzer suddenly became interested in this.

"Because I didn't poison the meat at all, but..." He Chi raised one hand and made a cutting motion.

"Is it a knife? If it is a knife..." The German thought for a moment, and suddenly his eyes lit up as he realized, "You smeared poison on one side of the knife? You left the poisoned side for us and ate the rest yourself?" "What a clever trick. When we were focusing our attention on the food, you tampered with the tools. I believe you would be a tough opponent if you were to command a troop?" The German, who figured everything out, actually laughed happily.

"There probably won't be such an opportunity. The war will be over soon. Just cooperate with us and stay here. We will let you go when we exchange prisoners." After saying this, He Chi stood up and prepared to leave.

"Well, I haven't had a good sleep for a long time. Now I want to have a good rest." Metzer simply leaned against the wall and dozed off.

The door slammed shut, and then the room returned to silence, with only the rustling sound of rain outside and the occasional rumble of thunder being heard.

A flash of lightning flashed, and Metzer's eyes opened again.

"I'm sorry, the war between Germany and me will never end. It has just begun." The German lieutenant spread out his injured hand and slowly untied the bandages with his fingers. When the white cloth fell to the ground, a small and sharp porcelain piece fell into his palm.

When he felt something was wrong, he knew it was too late to resist, so he took the opportunity to bandage his hand and hid a piece of the fragment inside the bandage.

The sharp porcelain pieces pressed against his wrists, and soon the rope was cut, and Metzer's hands were free. However, his hands and feet, which had just eaten the "added food", were still weak. He moved to the window with difficulty and pushed it open.

This room was on the second floor. The cautious German did not jump out of the window to escape immediately. Instead, he used his hands and feet to climb up to the windowsill and waited.

A flash of lightning flashed, and Metzer rolled down from the second floor with his hands covering his head.

A few seconds later, a muffled thunder sounded, and then a boom! A plop! The two sounds sounded almost at the same time.

The roar of thunder just covered up the dull thud of the German landing. With no strength in his legs, Metzer rolled himself into a ball and hit the ground hard.

The German lieutenant fell heavily to the ground and his head was broken, but he didn't care. He scooped up the dirty mud water on the ground and drank it into his mouth in big gulps. When he felt he could not drink any more, he suddenly punched himself in the abdomen.

Wow~~!!
Undigested food mixed with mud and dirty water from gastric juice was sprayed out like a fountain, flowing on the ground and mixing with the rain water.

Metzer still felt it was not enough, so he continued to drink the muddy water and then repeated the above steps.

This happened several times, and when he had nothing left to vomit, the numbness in his limbs slowly began to leave him.

Standing up and feeling the strength returning to him, Metzer raised his head, opened his mouth, and greedily drank two mouthfuls of rainwater.

Then the German took a look at the dark villa and went into the woods in the rain without looking back.

At this moment, He Chi, who was dozing in the house, suddenly heard a reminder in his ears: "Temporary mission: hunt down Mario Metzer."

He Chi opened his eyes, and under the 3D projection of the retina of his right eye, a red figure stumbled towards the river.
