Chapter 429: Wrong Time and Place

Yun Ci put the chair down and sat back in the time machine. He asked casually, "How much time has passed since I first traveled to the present?"

Dr. Yuan glanced at his watch: "Half an hour has passed."

"Only half an hour?"

She traveled through time twice. The first time she went out to buy groceries, and the second time she had dinner with Gu Jingwen, watched TV, and even stayed in the living room of the apartment until late at night. But why was it that in reality only half an hour had passed?

Dr. Yuan explained: "The time in the past is not parallel to the time in the present. You can stay in the past for several days, but in reality, only about two hours may have passed."

It turned out to be the case.

Yun Ci slowly closed his eyes: "Let's start."

Dr. Yuan sighed and operated on the screen.

Just like the previous two times, she would return to Gu Jingwen's apartment, the same time, the same scene, the same place.

But every time, Gu Jingwen would die for various reasons.

She could only watch Gu Jingwen die. No matter how hard she tried, she could not prevent the accident from happening. Even if she endured the accident and death for him, it would be of no use.

After the fifth time, Yun Ci stood up from the chair of the time machine and suddenly felt dizzy. She fell heavily to the ground. A warm current flowed out from between her nose wings. She reached out her hand and touched it and felt warm blood. Then, her stomach churned and she couldn't help vomiting. Her stomach was empty and it was full of acid.

Dr. Yuan hurriedly helped her up and poured her a cup of hot water.

"I've already told you not to try. Crossing multiple times will cause irreversible damage to your body."

Yun Ci suddenly grabbed Dr. Yuan's hand, gritted his teeth and endured the pain in his body, and said in a trembling voice: "For the last time, let me... see him one last time, please..."

"You... you really are... ah!" Dr. Yuan was shocked by the determination in the girl's eyes. It was as if she would not give up even if her life was at stake. Dr. Yuan had no choice but to compromise: "Okay, okay, just for the last time." Dr. Yuan helped Yun Ci sit on the time machine, and then went to operate the screen next to it. Suddenly, he frowned, tapped on the screen with his hand, and couldn't help muttering: "Why is it stuck? Broken thing!"

He fiddled with it roughly twice, and suddenly exclaimed, "Oops... I made a mistake!"

Dr. Yuan hurriedly tapped the screen with his fingers, trying to save the situation, but when he turned around, Yun Ci had disappeared before his eyes.

He suddenly widened his eyes in fear and covered his mouth tightly: "It's over..."

The screen was too slow just now, and in a hurry, he got the time and place wrong...

-

"Wake up...are you okay?"

An anxious voice sounded in my ears.

Yun Ci lifted her heavy eyelids and felt a hand supporting her neck, and another hand holding a glass, gently pouring water into her mouth.

Her confused thoughts gradually became clear, and she found that she was lying on the ground, with someone helping her upper body up, and she was surrounded by a crowd of people.

The person who helped her was a young girl with delicate features and a gentle voice. She asked with concern, "Are you awake? How do you feel?"

At this time, a sharp voice came from the front: "When you wake up, stand up quickly and don't waste time!"

This shout scared everyone and made them scatter.

The little girl helped Yun Ci stand up and comforted him, "Hold on a little longer, it will be over soon."
