Chapter 22 You're the one who told me to put my efforts into you.
On the way back to the villa, Yu Junwei offered the passenger seat to Tang Xu and sat in the back. He kept fiddling with his phone the whole way, and you could tell from his expression that he was still arguing with Meng Xiyue.

Tang Xu nestled in her seat, her thoughts drifting uncontrollably far away...

It wasn't until Fu Jiali, who was driving, asked, "What message did you leave for the host?"

Tang Xu came to her senses and said, "I just left a note explaining the situation."

“I don’t even know whose house it is,” Fu Jiali said. “I should thank the person who helped you in this emergency.”

"Mr. Fu, you're too kind. This matter actually has nothing to do with you. You don't need to take the blame."

Fu Jiali smiled, but then suddenly asked, "Is there really no one living inside?"

Tang Xu replied calmly, "Of course."

Fu Jiali said, "I just walked around that yard and vaguely saw what looked like a horse in the backyard..."

Upon hearing this, Tang Xu slowly turned her head and glanced at him.

The refined and courteous young master drove without looking to the side, still with that humble and smiling demeanor. After a moment, he chuckled softly and said, "I must have seen wrong."

His tone was calm and sincere, revealing no other meaning whatsoever.

Tang Xu withdrew her gaze and calmly replied, "Perhaps."

……

Finally back at the villa, several young men who were friends with Fu Jiali were downstairs, drinking and chatting while waiting for their return.

Seeing that the people had returned unharmed, the crowd dispersed and went back to their rooms.

Tang Xu returned to her room and then called the housekeeper, asking him to prepare some cold and fever medicine for her.

The housekeeper quickly delivered the medicine to the room. Tang Xu packed the medicine, grabbed her car keys, and went out again.

However, as soon as she went downstairs, she unexpectedly saw Fu Jiali still sitting in the lobby.

Fu Jiali looked up and saw her, raising an eyebrow slightly. "Why isn't Mrs. Jiang resting yet? Are you too frightened to sleep?"

Before Tang Xu could answer, there was a loud "bang" as the door was pushed open from the outside.

A chilly breeze swept in, bringing with it a familiar figure.

Yan Shiyu.

Tang Xu stood there for a moment, staring at him intently.

He didn't look well.

Someone who has already caught a chill and has a fever will inevitably look unwell riding back in such freezing weather.

As a result, her complexion also turned sour.

Yan Shiyu glanced at her once before looking away.

Fu Jiali looked surprised and stood up from the sofa. "Where have you been in this freezing weather?"

"I couldn't sleep, so I went for a walk," Yan Shiyu said calmly.

Fu Jiali laughed and said, "If I had known you weren't asleep, I would have dragged you out to look for people... It was quite a thrilling situation for us here, while you were enjoying yourself all by yourself."

Yan Shiyu didn't ask any questions, closed the door and walked in.

Tang Xu remained standing there, watching him approach. Suddenly, as if in a fit of pique, she shoved the medicine she had prepared in her pocket into his arms, glanced at him again, and without saying a word, turned and went upstairs.

Yan Shiyu looked down at the medicine in his hand before looking up again.

Tang Xu's figure had already disappeared at the top of the stairs on the second floor.

With his back to Yan Shiyu, Fu Jiali also looked in that direction, seemingly seeing nothing, and calmly instructed with a smile, "Get some rest, Mrs. Jiang."

It was almost dawn by then. Tang Xu returned to her room, lay down on the bed, and went to sleep.

……

When she reappeared downstairs, it was already past ten in the morning.

The weather is nice today, and a group of young men are excitedly preparing to go out and unleash the energy they didn't use up yesterday.

Tang Xu glanced around but didn't see Yan Shiyu.

"Mrs. Jiang," Fu Jiali said, looking quite energetic, "why are you up so early? Why don't you sleep a little longer?"

His greeting successfully drew everyone's attention to Tang Xu.

Even Fu Jiali personally went out to look for Tang Xu last night, so when they saw him, everyone couldn't help but tease him a bit.

Fu Jiali walked up to Tang Xu and said in a low voice, "Yu Junwei and Meng Xiyue have already left. You don't need to worry about them. Just get some rest."

"Thank you, Mr. Fu," Tang Xu said. "Don't worry, I'll call the police when I get back to the city so as not to spoil everyone's fun."

Fu Jiali was taken aback and didn't know what to say. He just nodded and turned to leave. Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and took out a room card from his pocket and handed it to Tang Xu. "We are going out. We don't know where the housekeeper is. This is Mr. Yan's room card. Please give it to the housekeeper for me later."

Tang Xu looked up at him.

Fu Jiali, however, acted as if nothing had happened. He smiled and put the card in her hand before calling his friends and preparing to go out.

A group of people had just stepped out the gate when they suddenly started making a commotion again for some reason.

Tang Xu didn't care and turned to go upstairs.

When she reached the top of the stairs on the second floor, she suddenly stopped, touched the room card in her pocket, and then headed to the third floor.

Arriving at Yan Shiyu's door, Tang Xu raised his hand and knocked.

No one responded.

She stood still for a moment, then finally took out her room card and swiped it to open the door.

The curtains in the room were only half drawn, and in the dimly lit space, Tang Xu saw Yan Shiyu lying on the bed.

Even in his sick sleep, the man, who was always upright and dignified, maintained a straight and upright posture, with the blanket covering his waist remaining perfectly straight.

However, the pain he endured was also obvious.

Tang Xu sat down on the edge of the bed and reached out to touch his tightly furrowed brow, which was covered in cold sweat.

It was still piping hot.

Shouldn't he have already taken his medicine when he came back yesterday?
Tang Xu sat beside the sleeping man for a moment, then got up, went into the bathroom, turned on the hot water, soaked a towel, and wrung it out.

Back in the bedroom, Tang Xu pulled back the covers, reached up to his neck, and gently unbuttoned his pajamas.

The man's body was also covered in a thin layer of sweat, and his chest rose and fell with each breath.

Tang Xu carefully wiped his neck with the towel in her hand, moving down little by little. When she reached his waist and abdomen, her hand was suddenly grasped.

Tang Xu suddenly looked up and found that Yan Shiyu had opened his eyes at some point and was staring at her with deep, unfathomable eyes.

Tang Xu paused slightly before speaking: "You seem to have a higher fever... I looked it up, and wiping your body with a warm towel helps to dissipate heat."

Yan Shiyu did not respond, but sat up directly from the bed.

Tang Xu quickly reached out to help him up, but suddenly realized that the two of them were too close after he sat up.

But she didn't move.

Yan Shiyu didn't move for a moment.
