Xie Shizi's shameless daily life
Chapter 16 Chapter 16
After the fireworks were over, Hu Jing and the others sat back down from the window, still feeling unsatisfied.
Seeing Zhao Shu staring at the table in a daze, she walked over and patted her: "What are you thinking about? You are so absorbed in your thoughts."
Zhao Shu came back to her senses and smiled slightly: "Nothing."
Hearing Zhao Shu's words, Xie Jin, who was standing by the window, stared at her for a few seconds, then looked back at the night view under the window as if nothing had happened.
Zhao Shu looked at the dark night sky and then realized that the fireworks had ended.
She had taken what she should eat, what she should drink, what gifts she should take and what gifts she shouldn't take, and now it was time to go back.
He tugged at Hu Jing's sleeve and whispered, "Let's go back."
It's been a while since she came out. If she doesn't go back now, her father might break her legs. Hu Jing nodded: "Well, let's go."
Zhao Shu walked to Xie Jin's side and bowed to him without showing any emotion: "Xie Shizi, it's getting late. A Jing and I won't stay any longer. Goodbye."
Zhao Shu was about to turn around when Xie Jin's gentle voice rang out from behind her: "I'll take you there."
Zhao Shu touched the box in her sleeve and said nothing. After a few seconds, she said, "Okay."
Xie Jin looked at Zhao Shu's back as she left the box, picked up Xie Baoer and followed her.
When she arrived in front of the carriage and was about to climb up by holding the railing beside it, a bony hand supported her arm and with a little force, she got on the carriage easily.
Zhao Shu didn't turn around, she lifted the curtain and said lightly: "Thank you."
Xie Jin didn't say anything. After watching Zhao Shu sit down in the carriage, he walked towards his carriage.
Hu Jing looked at Zhao Shu in the carriage, and then at Xie Jin's back. What was wrong with these two? She shook her head in confusion and got on the carriage holding the railing.
Hu Jing had a lot of things to ask Zhao Shu, but when she saw Zhao Shu closing her eyes and looking like she didn't want to say anything, she thought for a moment and didn't say anything.
The surrounding shops were all closed, the night enveloped the entire street, and there was silence all around.
"Pa pa pa pa pa pa." A regular series of door slamming sounds came from the front. Hu Jing curiously stuck her head out to take a look.
I saw a man standing in front of a shop, banging on the door. I vaguely heard the owner inside the house respond, "Who is it?", but the man didn't respond. He just banged on the door mechanically. Normally, a normal person who wants to buy something or has something urgent will definitely shout twice. If a mute is dumb, he should not bang on the door so regularly.
The dark environment made the scene even more eerie. Hu Jing shrank her head in fear, then squeezed closer to Zhao Shu and got close to her.
Zhao Shu noticed Hu Jing's action and was about to lean over to take a look, but a hand suddenly reached in. Zhao Shu's heartbeat stopped for a moment, and then a handsome face appeared in front of her. After seeing who it was, Zhao Shu breathed a sigh of relief and said to the person, "Thank you, my lord?"
Xie Jin glanced at Zhao Shu, as if seeing through her nervousness: "Are you so timid?"
Zhao Shu pursed her lips and said nothing.
Xie Jin was bored, but he didn't care and continued, "Xie Baoer, come and sit with you. I'll ride in front." As he spoke, he handed Xie Baoer over, and Zhao Shu reached out to take Xie Baoer.
Xie Jin raised his hand towards Zhao Shu, and seeing her quickly shrink back, he turned his hand and rubbed Xie Baoer's head, but his eyes fell on Zhao Shu, and he said gently: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Zhao Shu held Xie Baoer's hands tighter, but her mood strangely calmed down.
He looked through the curtain at the body that was as straight as a cypress tree for a while, then lowered his eyes and teased Xie Baoer in his arms.
Xie Jin rode on his horse and looked ahead carelessly.
As the carriage moved forward little by little, the man who slammed the door strangely stopped his movements and stood straight facing the shop without moving.
After a few seconds, the man turned around stiffly and walked towards them, step by step, then stopped in front of the carriage, looking up and staring at Xie Jin numbly.
Zhao Shu couldn't help but purse her lips as she looked at this scene.
Xie Jin was in a stalemate with the man. He wanted to solve the problem in the most direct way. He instinctively turned his head to look at Zhao Shu. Worried that she would be scared, he could only gently ask, "What's the matter?"
The man still didn't say anything and just stared at Xie Jin blankly. Xie Jin frowned impatiently and wanted to walk around him, but then the man pounced on Xie Jin like crazy. Xie Jin quickly pulled the reins and yanked hard, and the horse's front hooves immediately kicked forward and kicked the man away.
The man's head hit the steps and blood was all over the floor, but the man seemed unconscious and pounced towards Xie Jin again. Xie Jin jumped off his horse, drew his sword, flew into the air and slashed at the man's neck. Blood gushed out for a moment.
Hu Jing was so scared that she covered her ears and buried her face in Zhao Shu's arms. Although Zhao Shu did not make any other movements, her little face was pale.
Xie Jin put away his sword, walked to the man, squatted down, turned the man's face left and right, and slowly his expression became serious.
After checking for a while, Xie Jin came over, got on his horse again, and said to the deserted street: "Come out."
Four men in black appeared out of nowhere, knelt on one knee on the ground, bowed their heads and clasped their fists: "Master!"
Xie Jin said calmly: "Clean this place up."
"Yes!"
Xie Jin led the way in front, and the carriage began to shake again.
Xie Jin went around to Hu Jing's house and sent her home first. When Hu Jing got off the carriage, her legs were so weak that she could hardly stand, but after looking at Xie Jin, she gritted her teeth and held on.
Zhao Shu sat in the carriage, her eyelashes fluttering and looking at Xie Jin with a complicated expression.
The carriage stopped. Xie Jin got off the horse and walked to the front of the carriage. He stretched out his hand. After waiting for a long time without any response, Xie Jin spoke in a hoarse voice: "Do you want me to come up and hug you?"
Zhao Shu shuddered and quickly put her hand in his palm.
After getting off the carriage, he pulled his hand back with force and tried to walk back home calmly.
Xie Jin looked at Zhao Shu's fear of him, and tried to hold back, but couldn't help but spoke with a hint of emotion: "Zhao Shu."
Hearing Xie Jin calling her, Zhao Shu had to stop on the steps. She now had a certain fear of him, and that fear would make her obey.
Xie Jin tensed up, with a trace of sadness on his face, but he spoke gently, "That man's figure and appearance are only seen by foreigners, and I checked that he didn't have any customs documents on him. If he is discovered by the government, his fate will be even worse."
"Oh." Zhao Shu replied in a low voice.
Xie Jin looked at her back, tightened the sword in his hand, and couldn't help but warned: "During this period of time, don't go out of the house at night, it's not safe."
After thinking for a while, afraid that she would not listen, he added: "When that person approached me, I could not hear his breath. Later, I went to check his body, and sure enough, he had been dead for two hours before that. This is not reasonable. Don't go out at night until everything is clear."
Zhao Shu was shocked. What did he mean? That person was dead before he died!
Xie Jin spoke calmly, with a hint of comfort: "Go back, I will stay here until you enter the mansion and will not leave."
Zhao Shu returned home in disbelief. She walked to the gate of the courtyard, looked around, and saw darkness and silence. She shuddered all over.
Suddenly he ran into the house, pushed the door open and then slammed it shut, got on the bed without taking off his shoes, wrapped the quilt tightly around himself, closed his eyes and dared not open them. After a while, he pulled the quilt to the root of his nose, opened his eyes a little, saw a darkness, and quickly closed his eyes again.
Zhao Shu thought she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight, but unexpectedly, she fell asleep after a while.
