Little Xie Jin was thinking about buying food for little Zhao Shu all night, so he got up early the next morning, even earlier than he did on his first day going to school.

The streets seemed a little deserted in the morning, with only a few steaming bun stalls on the street.

A young man with gray clothes and pilling on the edges of his boots, who looked tall and thin and looked like a scholar, was waiting for breakfast in front of a steamed bun stall. The boss handed a steamed bun to the man with a smile. The man took out a handkerchief from his arms, carefully opened the four corners of the handkerchief, took out a penny from it and gave it to the boss, then put the handkerchief back into his arms, straightened the front of his shirt, took the steamed bun, took a bite, and chewed it carefully.

The other shops were closed and the stalls were empty.

Little Xie Jin walked around the street but couldn't find the candied haws he wanted, so he lowered his head in frustration.

The servant looked at the sky and said anxiously, "Sir, it's almost time to go to school."

"How about you bring two meat buns for Miss Shu this time?"

"Will you buy her candied haws next time?"

Little Xie Jin pursed his lips and said nothing. After a while, he nodded dejectedly.

When the servant saw him nod, he immediately walked to the bun stall and asked the boss for two buns.

The boss quickly packed the buns and said, "Here, two cents."

It was already late when they arrived at the school. The teacher looked at little Xie Jin who was standing at the door with his head down, and without making things difficult for him, he nodded and let him in.

This morning, little Xie Jin was distracted frequently. He couldn't even answer the questions the teacher asked him to answer, and just stood there dejectedly.

"Oh~" Hearing the teacher's sigh, little Xie Jin's face turned red.

After finally getting to the end of school, little Xie Jin slowly put the things on the desk into his school bag one by one.

The sounds of laughter and playfulness gradually faded away, and he did not stand up from his seat until silence returned outside the academy.

Xiao Xie Jin was a little nervous on the way to Xiao Zhaoshu's yard. He was wondering if she would like to eat meat buns, while also thinking about what happened yesterday. Thinking of what happened yesterday, his eyes darkened. Would she hate him?
Little A Ling pushed open the door and pushed twice on the small arched body on the bed. A short little hand emerged from under the quilt, and then a little head emerged.

Ah Ling put the washbasin on the shelf, soaked the towel in it, went to the bed, pulled little Zhao Shu's face out from under the quilt, and rubbed her face twice.

Little Zhao Shu opened her eyes hazily and looked at A Ling in front of her, who was not gentle at all.

Ah Ling paused while wiping her face, looked at Xiao Zhaoshu's red eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"

Little Zhao Shu's whole body moved up and down until her face touched Ah Ling's lower abdomen, and then she stopped.

She buried her face in Ah Ling's belly, put her arms around Ah Ling's waist, and said in a muffled voice, "No!"

"Oh." Little Zhao Shu hugged A Ling's waist tightly, and A Ling was also hugged by her. The two of them stayed in this position and no one made a sound.

It took a long, long time, so long that when little Zhao Shu was about to fall asleep again, Ah Ling gently pushed her.

Little Zhao Shu obediently let go of A Ling's waist. Oh, A Ling has to go to work. If she goes late, she will be scolded.

After A Ling left, little Zhao Shu rolled over on the bed twice, took out a rattle from under the pillow and put it in her arms. After putting on her clothes, she jumped out of the yard.

She wants to help Ah Ling with work!

Little Zhao Shu found A Ling's work place based on her memory. She lay on the door panel with her little body, stuck out her little head, and looked around for A Ling with her eyes rolling around.

After looking around and not finding Ah Ling, little Zhao Shu walked in with small steps and stood in the yard in a daze.

A maid hurried past little Zhao Shu. She grabbed the hem of the older sister's clothes, and when the older sister looked at her, she quickly let go of her hand and asked bravely in a timid voice, "Sister, do you know where A Ling is?" Her voice was so soft that it could not be heard clearly.

The maid said impatiently: "I don't know!" After that, she walked away with her hips swaying.

Little Zhao Shu was not discouraged, and she started looking for it herself with her short legs.

After walking around for a while, little Zhao Shu returned to the original place. She looked around with a pout. Where was A Ling?

A maid squatting in the corner washing clothes looked at Xiao Zhao Shu with a bit of amusement and waved to her with her hand.

Seeing an older sister calling her, little Zhao Shu was not on guard and ran over.

"Are you looking for Ah Ling?" the elder sister asked with a smile.

"Yeah." Little Zhao Shu nodded her head.

The maid pointed in a direction: "A Ling is behind that."

"Thank you, sister!" Little Zhao Shu said obediently and sensibly.

Little Zhao Shu thought about the direction that the elder sister had just pointed out to her and went there.

Ah Ling was squatting alone in the backyard, plucking the feathers of a chicken that had just been bled.

Little Zhao Shu ran over, squatted down, clumsily rolled up her sleeves, looked at Ah Ling and said, "Ah Ling, let me help you."

The little guy grabbed a chicken feather and pulled it back with great effort.

"Bang!" the little butt fell heavily to the ground, with a chicken feather in his hand.

They were both stunned for a second, then they looked at the chicken feather at the same time. "Hahaha" they couldn't help laughing.

Little Zhao Shu patted her butt and squatted back, continuing to fight with the chicken feathers. Ah Ling lowered her head and plucked the feathers quickly with her hands. Her movements were much more skillful than those of little Zhao Shu.

Half an hour later, the two of them finally plucked the chicken feathers clean. Ah Ling cleaned the chicken, placed it in a wooden basin, and then covered the chicken with a smaller wooden basin. After all this was done, she took little Zhao Shu's hand and went to a water tank. She scooped a spoonful of water with a ladle and poured it on her hands. After washing her hands, she roughly washed her own.

Plucking chicken feathers was Ah Ling’s last job in the morning. Now that she was done, she could leave.

Xiao Zhaoshu held A Ling's hand, and the two of them walked slowly back to the yard.

Little Zhao Shu skipped and walked holding Ah Ling's hand, her little head turning around.

Suddenly, a figure wearing a royal blue robe, with a transparent white jade hanging around his waist, and as tall as an adult man's waist, appeared in Zhao Shu's eyes. Her big round eyes lit up, but after a while, as if she thought of something, her bright eyes dimmed.

Little Zhao Shu held Ah Ling's hand tightly, her little head lowered, completely devoid of the joy she had just had.

Little Xie Jin went to Little Zhao Shu's yard and searched everywhere, but couldn't find her. So, he was walking back in frustration, but unexpectedly, he met him here.

Little Xie Jin was about to call her, but he swallowed the words that had already reached his throat. He looked at little Zhao Shu again, straightened his small body slightly, and walked without looking around.

Seeing that Xiao Zhaoshu was about to walk past him, Xiao Xie Jin became a little anxious. Didn’t she see him?

Little Xie Jin coughed, and saw that little Zhao Shu still didn't look at him. Could it be that his voice was too soft?

He quickly coughed loudly again, but still got no response. He turned around and shouted to Xiao Zhaoshu from behind, "Hey!"

Xiao Zhaoshu and the others kept walking forward without stopping.

Seeing that no one paid attention to him, Xiao Xie Jin became very annoyed. He glared at Xiao Zhao Shu's back angrily, then turned around and left.

But after taking just two steps, the little body stopped, kicked the stone on the ground in frustration, turned around and ran towards them.

Ah Ling was stunned for a moment when she saw the person in front of her.

Little Zhao Shu never looked up.

Little Xie Jin stood beside Ah Ling and said to her, "Didn't you see me just now?" But his eyes were always on Little Zhao Shu.

A Ling was completely confused. Who are you?

"I didn't see it." Ah Ling didn't understand and could only say blankly.

"Speak!" Seeing that no one answered, little Xie Jin emphasized his tone.

Ah Ling’s face was full of question marks. Didn’t she just answer it?

Little Zhao Shu lowered her head and said honestly, "I saw it."

"Then why didn't you call me?" Little Xie Jin pursued relentlessly.

"I forgot." Xiao Zhaoshu didn't tell the truth this time.

Little Xie Jin pursed his lips tightly, and without saying a word, he took out two meat buns he bought in the morning and handed them to her: "Here!"

Looking at the buns in front of her, Xiao Zhaoshu said softly, "Thank you, little brother. I don't."

"Just take it if it's given to you. Why are you hesitating?" Little Xie Jin looked impatient.

"Oh." Little Zhao Shu held the bun in her arms obediently.

Seeing Xiao Zhaoshu's cold look, Xiao Xiejin wanted to say something, but felt a little embarrassed. Finally, he said, "Well, I'll bring you toys and other delicious food next time."

Little Zhao Shu finally raised her head, looked at him and said obediently, "Thank you, little brother."

When Xiao Xie Jin saw her looking at him, he felt relieved, but said reservedly, "Yeah."

Ah Ling glanced at the bun in Xiao Zhaoshu's arms and asked, "You don't like that person just now?"

Little Zhao Shu shook her head: "No, I just decided to dislike him a little bit for the next two days."

Little Xie Jin, who thought he had coaxed little Zhao Shu into submission, sneezed loudly.

Little Xie Jin rubbed his nose and thought to himself that he would have to drink some ginger soup when he got home, otherwise he would not be able to go to school tomorrow and little Zhao Shu would be sad not to see him.

Sometimes, mistakes in self-perception are forgivable, right?
