Zhao Shu didn't quite remember what happened afterwards. She only vaguely heard one sharp wolf howl after another, and then nothing happened. When she woke up again, she was in this room.

Zhao Shu stared at the ceiling of the tent in a daze for a moment, then got up from the bed, put on her shoes, opened the door and walked out.

As soon as Zhao Shu opened the door, she was stunned. She looked at the person in front of her and asked in surprise: "Mother, why are you here?"

Zhang Lanyin looked at Zhao Shu expressionlessly, and then Zhao Shu felt a strong force passing by her ear and falling directly on her face.

"Pa!" The slap sounded loud and crisp.

Zhang Lanyin raised her hand towards Zhao Shu again, and the door next to her was suddenly opened from the inside, and a white hand tightly grasped her hand.

Xie Jin looked at Zhang Lanyin solemnly: "Aunt!"

There was a warning in Xie Jin's eyes.

Zhang Lanyin took a deep breath: "Jin'er, are you feeling better?"

Xie Jin glanced at her bulging belly and said, "You are in a heavy body, so you'd better rest."

Although Zhang Lanyin came from a merchant family, she had been married to Marquis Xuanping for many years and had already mastered the art of hiding her emotions: "You are really thoughtful." After saying this, she stroked her abdomen and turned away.

From beginning to end, Zhang Lanyin never paid any attention to Zhao Shu, as if this person did not exist.

Xie Jin came in front of Zhao Shu and looked at her face. When he saw the clear slap mark on her face, he frowned and said with some regret: "Are you a piece of wood? Don't you know how to hide?"

Zhao Shu lowered her head and said nothing.

Xie Jin wanted to say something else, but when his eyes swept across the red cheeks again, he finally softened his voice: "Does it hurt?"

Xie Jin didn't wait for Zhao Shu to answer and continued, "Of course it hurts. Xie Baoer just choked on the water and she would cry for a long time in my mother's arms. How can you not feel pain?"

Zhao Shu actually wanted to tell him that she was not in pain or sad, but for some reason, her throat was so dry that she couldn't open her mouth.

What's wrong with her?
Zhao Shu pinched her palms hard until the sourness in her throat subsided, then she said, "I'll go back to my room first."

Xie Jin looked at her: "Wait!"

Zhao Shu stopped her movements obediently, and saw Xie Jin return to the room and take out a small bottle: "Let's go."

Zhao Shu raised her eyes. Where are you going?
Xie Jin looked back and said, "Apply the medicine!"

Inside the house, Zhao Shu sat quietly on a chair.

Xie Jin opened the small bottle in his hand, and a scent of medicine instantly spread out. He poured some liquid into his palm, then placed the bottle on the table and squatted down facing Zhao Shu.

Zhao Shu saw Xie Jin's hand coming straight towards her face, so she turned her head and dodged it. Xie Jin glanced at her, but without stopping, he gently pinched her right chin: "Don't move!"

The other hand covered with medicine covered her cheek and pressed gently: "Does it hurt?"

Zhao Shu shook her head: "It doesn't hurt."

The force on his face increased slightly: "Does it hurt?"

Zhao Shu raised her eyes and glanced at Xie Jin: "A little." Xie Jin's hand strength returned to its previous gentleness. He looked at Zhao Shu and said in a deep voice: "If it hurts, just tell me. No one will laugh at you!"

Xie Jin paused and spoke again: "At least I won't."

Hearing this, Zhao Shu stared at the ground without blinking and said nothing.

In a short while, the medicine was applied. After seeing that the glaring marks on Zhao Shu's face were no longer so deep, Xie Jin stood up with satisfaction and closed the medicine bottle: "I'm next door, call me if you need anything."

Then he turned his head and looked at Zhao Shu steadily: "Call me if you need anything!"

After Xie Jin returned to the room, he came to the screen, raised his left hand slightly, took off his outer robe with his right hand, threw the clothes casually on the screen, and then came to the table and sat down.

She was wearing a white undergarment, and there were drops of blood on the sleeve of her left arm. When she rolled up the bloody sleeve, she could see the tooth marks of a large dog.

Xie Jin reached out and took the medicine bottle that had just been opened on the table, and sprinkled the medicine evenly on the scar that was so deep that the bone could be seen.

Cold sweat was pouring out, and Xie Jin wrapped the gauze with a pale face.

"Dong dong" the knock on the door sounded.

"Prince." It was Xie Er's voice.

"Enter!"

Xie Er pushed the door open and saw the blood on Xie Jin's arm. He was slightly startled, then walked over quickly: "My Lord, your injury."

Xie Jin interrupted him and said calmly, "No problem."

Xie Jin stood up and walked to the screen, took the clothes on top and put them on, lowered his head and carefully tied the belt: "Speak."

Xie Er didn't dare to say more: "Sir, that man disappeared outside the capital!"

Xie Jin's hand on the belt paused for a moment, then he twisted the belt slightly with his hand: "Hmm."

Xie Er didn't dare to guess what his master meant: "Sir, what's next?"

"Keep investigating," Xie Jin raised his eyes, "Investigate in the capital."

Xie Er was shocked. What the prince meant was
Xie Er clasped his fists and said, “Yes!”
