Zhao Shu was really furious. She stretched out her hand and twisted Xie Jin's arm. Yes, it was a circle, not half a circle, not just once, but a full circle.

After twisting it, Zhao Shu's depression disappeared for the most part, and she looked at him with a smile: "Does it hurt?"

Xie Jin nodded truthfully: "It hurts!"

Zhao Shu looked at him expectantly: "Have you noticed anything?"

Seeing that Xie Jin was still stubborn, Zhao Shu couldn't stand it anymore and pinched his arm again, gritting her teeth and said, "If this was a dream, how could you feel any pain!" She was really mad at him. He was so stupid at such a critical moment!

In fact, Zhao Shu just thought of why Xie Jin was like this. There are undoubtedly two possibilities: one is that he dreamed of her when he was looking for her, and found out it was just a dream after waking up; the other is that he may have hallucinations for some reason and saw her.

As a result, he felt that she was fake even when she was standing in front of him!
Xie Jin did not wake up because of Zhao Shu's words. He just kept going down the same path and said, "It hurt last time, too!"

"Ah?!" Zhao Shu looked at him with her mouth slightly open.

She now really wanted to know what she had done to him in his dream or hallucination!
Zhao Shu didn't want to waste any more time, so she simply asked, "What did I do to you last time?" Only by asking the reason clearly could she find the key point and prescribe the right medicine.

But Xie Jin's next words made her dumbfounded: "You stabbed me with a knife!"

Zhao Shu: “.” In his dream/hallucination, was she so cruel? !

Zhao Shu swallowed and asked, "Why did I stab you?"

Xie Jin stared at her with his dark eyes. Seeing that he didn't speak, Zhao Shu looked at him suspiciously: "Hmm?"

After a long while, Xie Jin said, "You blame me for not saving you."

Hearing this, Zhao Shu's expression froze, and silent silence filled the space between the two of them.

Zhao Shu could no longer hear the sound of wind or rain. The only sound in her ears was Xie Jin and her own breathing, which was heavy and rapid, one after another.

There was a hint of fear, confusion, and panic in Zhao Shu's eyes, but in the end all these emotions were covered up by the dead silence in her eyes.

She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, the emotions in her eyes had disappeared without a trace, leaving only clarity.

Zhao Shu smiled gently at Xie Jin: "I'm fine." Her tone became increasingly slow: "It's okay, it's all over."

However, Xie Jin no longer looked at her and started walking forward again.

Zhao Shu didn't chase him this time. She said calmly from behind: "Xie Jin, what are you running away from?"

“I’m avoiding the fact that I’m alive.”

"Are you still avoiding your original choice?"

"Or maybe you are escaping from the guilt deep in your heart"

Xie Jin stopped walking, Zhao Shu looked at his back calmly and said, "What do you want me to do?"

"Do you want to hear my forgiveness? Then I can tell you now that I forgive you and I don't blame you."

"Is this all right?"

Looking at the tall figure of the young man in front of her, Zhao Shu suddenly raised her lips and smiled: "Cousin Jin, aren't you going to take me home?"

"If we don't leave now, it will be dark soon and the road will be difficult to travel on."

Zhao Shu said in a soft voice: "Brother Jin, I want to eat candied haws. Can you take me to eat?"

Just when Zhao Shu thought the silent atmosphere would continue, the person in front of her turned and walked towards her, step by step.

Xie Jin looked at the little girl in front of him gently: "Let's go, I'll take you to eat candied haws."

Xie Jin never asked her who saved her. Xie Jin didn't ask, and Zhao Shu didn't say either. The two of them tacitly understood that no one would mention the matter.

It was dark and raining. Zhao Shu took off her raincoat while sitting in the carriage. Compared to Xie Jin who was soaked, Zhao Shu felt refreshed. Zhao Shu looked over and opened her mouth to say something, but in the end she said nothing.

Xie Jin's hands at her sides tightened involuntarily.

Because it was raining heavily, all the street vendors ran to the doorsteps of restaurants and teahouses to take shelter from the rain. Zhao Shu and her friends drove their carriage around and finally saw a vendor carrying candied haws sticks in front of a shop selling rouge and powder.

Zhao Shu originally wanted to put on her straw raincoat and go downstairs to buy some candied haws, but just as she put her straw hat on her head, the person opposite lifted the curtain and strode down from the carriage.

Zhao Shu saw Xie Jin take the candied haws from the vendor and give him a silver ingot. Judging from the size of the silver, it should be about ten taels.

She complained in her heart: Luxury!
After the payment was made, Xie Jin bent down, raised his hand to protect the candied haws in his arms and walked towards the carriage.

After Xie Jin got on the carriage, he handed the candied haws that was not stained by a single drop of rain to Zhao Shu.

Zhao Shu took the candied haws, lowered her head and silently took a bite. It was sweet, but also sour.

The sound of wheels turning came from outside the carriage. Zhao Shu only ate the first candied haws in her hand and did not touch the rest.

The wheels that had been turning non-stop came to a halt. The Xuanping Marquis's Mansion was still in the white funeral period at this time, with white silk and white lanterns hanging at the gate, looking extremely desolate.

There were two servants at the door, dressed in mourning. One of them recognized the Xie family crest on the carriage and immediately trotted towards it.

The servant bowed to the carriage and said respectfully, "Thank you, my lord."

The carriage was quiet, and just when the servant thought that there was no one in the carriage, the curtain was lifted from the inside.

The servant looked into the carriage with a smile on his face, but just this one look frightened him to death.

Zhao Shu had guessed that her sudden "coming back to life" might scare a lot of people, and the servant in front of her who was looking at her in horror with a pale face was the best example. She even smelled a faint smell of urine.

Zhao Shu looked down and saw that, as expected, the boy's pants were wet, with water dripping from his trouser legs.

Zhao Shu stepped out of the carriage. At this moment, the servant, who was thought to have been frightened silly, let out a howl that shook the heavens and the earth, and crawled into the Mansion of Marquis Xuanping.

Another servant looked at this scene in confusion, until he turned his head back to the carriage and saw the eldest daughter of their family who had "passed away" getting off the carriage in a pretty manner.
Zhao Shu walked towards the servant who was staring at her motionlessly at the gate, but before she reached him, the servant rolled his eyes and fell backwards.

Xie Jin came up at the right time and said to Zhao Shu gently, "I'll go in with you."

Zhao Shu nodded. This was a good thing. With cousin Jin accompanying her, the weirdness of her sudden "coming back to life" would be less evident.

Because one of the servants who was guarding the gate and reporting was scared away by Zhao Shu, and the other was frightened to faint, the two of them entered the mansion and walked towards the main house on their own.

Anyway, this is the home where Zhao Shu has lived for more than ten years, and she is already very familiar with it.

The two men walked along the route as if they were familiar with it. At first, the servants passing by didn't pay much attention to them. But when they noticed them later, they were so scared that they ran away in panic.

The entire Xuanping Marquis Mansion was filled with screams of fear.

"There's a ghost! There's a ghost!"
