Chapter 16 Corpse Guild
After Zhou Yun stepped into PDF’s residence, he couldn’t help but frown.

Inside the PDF station, there were some bodies lying next to the building.

They were dressed in the uniforms of the Asford Planetary Defense Force, their faces showing signs of emaciation, bite marks, and decay.

Most of the bodies were missing, and it can be imagined that after the Governor-General ordered the bombing of Old District 8, the PDF soldiers buried under the rubble might have committed cannibalism.

But Zhou Yun didn't care about this.

Eating corpses in the hive is not a very psychologically burdensome thing.
After all, part of the famous corpse starch is made from the bodies of the dead.

The corpse guilds responsible for making corpse starch use hearse teams and mobile factories to collect the dead and use these bodies to make corpse starch.

Many hive residents have eaten this corpse starch.

What really made Zhou Yun frown was that these corpses had been lying here for at least a hundred years.

It was just full of decay, but it didn't turn into a pile of bones.
Zhou Yun became a little alert and pointed his finger at one of the corpses.
"Bang!!!" a syllable came out of his mouth.

The corpse's head exploded like a watermelon hit by a hammer, and red, green and white pus splattered on the wall behind it, forming a distorted painting.

After long years of decay, the heads of these corpses had become soft and rotten, and the shock waves from the air pistol could shatter them.

However, there was no movement from the other corpses nearby, as if they were really just dead bodies.

This, isn't this right?

He frowned and held out his finger again.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The heads of three more corpses exploded, but the remaining corpses still did not stand up from the ground and turn into zombies as Zhou Yun suspected.

He turned his head and glanced at Market and Monger behind him.

Market nodded slightly at him.

That's exactly what this guy did.
Zhou Yun nodded to Malkit, then
He waved his arms, and the mechanical arm above his head moved, pointing at the corpse under the wall and sweeping over it.

The heads of the corpses were crushed and exploded one by one, leaving a red, green and white mark on the wall.

After clearing all the corpses within sight, Zhou Yun smiled at Market and walked towards the PDF warehouse with peace of mind.

Looking at this scene, Market couldn't help but shook his head and sighed, "How careful."

"Is he worried that I might wake up these zombies?"

"Brother, did he realize that you used the spell given by the angel to put the zombies to sleep?" Monger asked in a low voice.

There was surprise in Monger's tone. He seemed to be unable to understand how Zhou Yun knew that these corpses were zombies.

"He knows us very well, perhaps better than we know ourselves." Market said in a calm voice.

"Who is he? Ryan Russ, a name that sounds obviously fake." Monger said, looking in the direction Zhou Yun left.

Markit remained silent, as he remembered the terrified screams of the "angels".

Most of the time, the voice of "Angel" is filled with a joy that never seems to fade.
It was the first time he heard the voice of an "angel" so terrified.

And the message revealed in that terrified scream
"There may be some truth in the name."

Market said seriously:
"The angel said his face looked like..."

Monger noticed the hesitation in Market's tone, as if she was considering whether to say the name.

"Who does it look like?" Monger couldn't help but ask.

"The demigod of the First Legion during the Great Crusade ten thousand years ago."

Market took a deep breath and said, "Lian El'Jonson's face is almost exactly the same as Lion El'Jonson's."

"But the body type is wrong and the personality is not the same."

"Lian Russ looks like a Primarch?" Monger took a deep breath after hearing what Markit said.
He couldn't help but think of many possibilities, each of which was somewhat horrifying.

"Don't think about it. He didn't delve into our secrets, so we shouldn't delve into his either."

"It is most important to find the trace of that relic first."

Markit shook his head and said, he looked around and looked at the office location of the PDF station.

He patted Monger on the shoulder and walked towards the house together.
There are many media for storing information in the Empire, the most common of which are parchment and data tablets.

Those important and valuable information will be stored on more reliable and safer parchment.
The rest will be stored on the data pad.

Monger flipped through the data pad in his hand, searching for the information the two of them wanted.

Markit was arranging the parchment.

"Found it." Markit said, pointing to a piece of parchment.

On this parchment, there was a series of densely written Low Gothic letters.

This is a PDF of the detailed record of the plague that year.

It clearly records the plague situation in the old eighth district.

Market waved at Monger and said, "Help me find a data pad that records the map of the old Eighth District."

Monger took out a data tablet from the one he had just found.
Because he promised Zhou Yun to help him find the map, he specifically picked out this area.

Markit looked at the old map of District 8 on the data tablet and marked the location where the plague occurred that year with her finger.

These small dots marked by Markit form a block of color that is sparse around the edges and dense in the middle.

Looking at the fully marked map, Market fell into deep thought.

"The plague spread to half of District 8. This half is likely the source of the plague."

"According to the PDF records of that year, these are the places where the plague first appeared."

Markit looked at the location where the dots were most densely packed, where the plague first began to spread.

He stretched out his hand and connected the places where the plague first appeared, forming an irregular circle.

He looked at the buildings in the circle and quickly found a suspicious target.

"Corpse Guild."

Markit pointed to the location of the Corpse Guild.
The Corpse Guild is located almost smack dab in the middle of where the plague first appeared.

"It seems that more than a hundred years ago, it was the Corpse Guild that spread the plague and extradited the power of the garden where the "Angels" were into the physical universe."

"According to what the angels said, that power was infused into an ancient magical instrument."

"But before the magic weapon was truly completed, the Governor-General, who had noticed this, bombed the entire Old Eighth District and buried everything underneath."

There was some excitement in Market's tone.
"But that nearly completed magical weapon is probably still in the Corpse Guild!"

"As long as we find that magical weapon and the warp engine from the bottom nest, we can save the entire Asford."

In fact, not all hives will form a monopoly corpse guild.
