Chapter 628: Are you looking for someone else?

Yu Xia followed Raphael's gaze and saw Farrell and Metis downstairs at the hotel across the street, and her heart skipped a beat.

It was already night, and Farrell and his companions stood in front of the car headlights, seemingly having just returned, talking downstairs, not planning to go into the hotel immediately.

"."

Realizing what Raphael was about to do, Yu Xia struggled in his arms, "Are you crazy?"

Raphael pressed her against the glass, one hand around her waist, the other pinching her face, and whispered in her ear, "Let them watch, okay?"

Yu Xia: "You want me dead."

The power was out everywhere, and it was pitch black. There were a few lights in Raphael's room, and if you paid a little attention, you could spot them at a glance.

Golden vines brushed aside her hair, and Raphael kissed her small, delicate ear. "How could I bear to let you die?"

Yu Xia: "If you don't want me to die, then don't stay here!"

If they saw her, would she even survive?
Raphael's lips lingered on the small pink gland on the back of her neck. "If you don't want to be here, where?"

Yu Xia bit her lip, suppressing the groan that was about to burst from her throat. She thought to herself that the evacuation mission in the North Sixth District was about to be completed. She would endure Raphael for two more days.

"Go in." Yu Xia's voice was slightly hoarse. She grabbed Raphael's hanging silver hair and pulled it, tilting her slender neck up, her clear, watery eyes seemingly filled with a layer of hazy mist.

Raphael's eyes darkened, and he bit her gland. "Do you still want to negotiate with me, Princess Potty?"

Yu Xia's body trembled. She gritted her teeth and said stubbornly, "I only have one condition. It's not like I'm breaking my contract with you! You, you've seen it too. Those royals are always surrounding me. If they find out I'm with you, do you think I'll survive?"

Raphael's hot breath brushed against her neck, desire gleaming in his eyes. "With me here, what are you afraid of?"

“You knew my abilities when you agreed to my request, that’s not your real reason.” Raphael’s palm pressed against her skin, gently pressing and kneading, yet it seemed as if he wanted to tear her body apart at any moment, carrying a heavy sense of aggression.

“You can choose not to tell, but if you lie,” Raphael pinched her cheek, making her look at the sea creatures opposite, “I will know.”

Yu Xia groaned softly, tears welling in her eyes. She looked at Farrell and the others and said something, then suddenly turned around to face them.

As they looked at her, her heart pounded wildly, almost leaping out of her chest.

Golden vines deftly parted her collar, the rustling sound of fabric rubbing against each other filling her ears, as Raphael's robes clung to her and slowly slipped down.

“Tell me.” Raphael’s nose brushed against Yu Xia’s soft face, his calm tone masking a burning desire. “You secretly came to our Holy City’s hotel, were you looking for someone else?”

His softened tone was like honey wrapped around poison, tempting the girl to reveal the truth.

Yu Xia kept glancing at Farrell and the others across the street from the hotel, her body drenched in sweat with nervousness.

Hearing Raphael's words, she looked up at him.

Raphael pinched her face, his fingers tracing her chin and jawline, his eyes lowered as he patiently awaited her reply.

Yu Xia was slightly puzzled as she did not detect his spiritual power.

At this moment, she thought he was going to use his mental power to control her and make her tell the truth.

Whether Raphael remembered her or not, he was much crazier than before.

Yu Xia understood Raphael's personality too well, which is why she accepted his terms of the deal.

They even thought it was a very good deal.

Her goal was to cooperate with Raphael while concealing her identity so she could escape later and never return to the Holy City. Once the pollution was controlled or completely eradicated, she could gain true freedom.

No longer bound by constraints, live freely and joyfully.

This is her driving force and her unwavering belief.

Rather than saying she was manipulated by Raphael, it would be more accurate to say that she herself handed him leverage.

She felt she knew Raphael well enough, and this was within her control. Even if it meant walking a dangerous tightrope, the danger was nothing as long as she could achieve what she wanted.

She once said that Raphael was a coward.

He lived his entire life in the Holy City, growing up under its rules and regulations. Those rules bound him like chains. Rather than saying he dared not defy the Holy City, it would be more accurate to say that he accepted or obeyed the Holy City's discipline and was a staunch executor of it.

So even on those agonizing nights when their energies merged, even if he couldn't resist teasing her, he wouldn't take things any further with her.

He always followed the rules and regulations of the Holy City.

Yu Xia felt that he had become the vessel for the continuation of the Holy City and the Golden Bloodline. All his actions and life were for the continuation of the Holy City and the Golden Bloodline. He was like a machine and had no real emotions.

Yu Xia's understanding of Raphael gave her the confidence to act without fear.

But the Raphael before her was clearly different from the priest she knew who had ripped off his clothes, bit him, and remained unmoved.

If she were to rip open his clothes now, she reckoned she wouldn't be able to get back to her hotel tonight.

After contacting Raphael these past two days, he has consistently denied knowing her beforehand.

She was still wondering if Raphael really just wanted to manipulate her, the sea princess.

She sought him out to fuse with golden energy, which conveniently solved the most pressing evacuation mission and also gave her mortal enemy leverage over her.

Raphael was perhaps afraid that she would break her promise, resolve the immediate issue, and then turn her back on him, so he used this relationship to ensnare her?

Yu Xia's speculation was based entirely on the conflict between the sea tribe and the Holy City, but thinking about it that way, it felt even more bizarre.

Because he would need to deal with his mortal enemy in the future, he maintained a close relationship with the leader of that enemy, using it as leverage to control her.

Hmm. That's weird.

But it seems strangely reasonable?
After all, Raphael knew she was afraid of being discovered by the royal family.

It makes some sense from the perspective of the relationship between the two races, but given Raphael's character, he simply couldn't do such a thing.

Could it be that he had been holding back for too long, so now that he had the chance after leaving the Holy City, he decided to let loose?
Thinking about it that way, it seems to make sense.

"Yes."

The hand pinching Yu Xia's face tightened a bit, and Yu Xia came back to her senses, truthfully saying, "I came to find someone else."

Raphael: "Who?"

Yu Xia glanced at the sea creatures below and said, "I'll tell you once we're inside."

Raphael grabbed her hand, bent his legs slightly, and pressed her against the glass, kissing her neck as he said, "Say it here, and then we'll go inside."

Yu Xia cursed him in her heart, then turned around and bit his lip hard as if to vent her anger, saying, "Of course I'm here to find the sentry. What's the point of a mere guide like you?"
