Chapter 729 Will You Fight or Not?

Alex immediately released Yu Xia's hand and stood up.

He patted Yu Xia's head and said, "Kleeman is here, I'll excuse myself for now."

Yu Xia wanted to say something, but Alex walked away quickly and disappeared in a moment.

Alex returned to a corner of the dimly lit corridor, leaned against the wall, and closed his eyes.

“That’s really showing off,” Sevi said. “You don’t need to use me as an example. If you were in Kleeman’s position, watching them holding your favorite little guide, wouldn’t you fight for it?”

Alex: "I don't need to answer that question."

Sevier: "Why is it unnecessary? Are you afraid to answer?"

Alex took a few deep breaths; his allergic reaction had caused his airways to swell.

“What’s the point of fighting if she doesn’t like me?” Alex: “Before you fight, you need to be sure of her feelings. Otherwise, what’s the point of all this? You’re just trying to satisfy your own desires. Don’t add so many reasons.”

After Alex finished speaking, Sevi fell silent.

After a long silence, Sevi finally spoke: "So that's why they're so jealous of you, damn it."

“I’ve done things to her that I regret.” Alex tilted his head, staring into the depths of the corridor, and slowly said to Sevi, “But at that time I was on the side of the Snake family. If I had to choose again, I probably would still do the same thing. You’re right, I’m a bastard, and all of us in the Snake family are bastards.”

"It looks much better."

Yu Xia cupped Kleeman's face and carefully examined his allergy symptoms. The rash had faded to almost invisible, but the scratches on his neck were still very noticeable.

She opened the ointment she had found in the first-aid kit and applied it to Kleeman's neck. "Why didn't you say you were allergic to seafood?"

Kleeman grabbed her hand. "How did you know I'm allergic to seafood?"

"Don't move." Yu Xia pulled her hand away and continued applying the medicine. "What's so hard to guess? Your symptoms are clearly an allergic reaction."

“My father was a doctor.” Yu Xia paused, then told Kleeman about some of her human memories. “Although I can’t remember many things, I remember my father and mother.”

“I remember my father was a doctor. He taught me a lot about medicine, but I really didn’t have any talent for it, and I’m also afraid of blood.” Yu Xia recalled while applying medicine to him. “My mother was a diplomat and an explorer. I do have some talent for languages, so I learned from my mother and often went out with her.”

When Kleeman heard her mention her parents, his eyes lit up and his tense body relaxed.

He had seen some fragments of Melia's memories through her, and although the faces of the people in those memories were not very clear, it was true, as she had said, that her parents were a doctor and a diplomat.

Kleeman didn't quite understand why she had these memories, but judging from her identity as the Holy City Ivi, he guessed that the Holy City had probably done something to her, implanting false memories into her.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but frown.

"Did you take any medicine?" Yu Xia asked after applying the ointment to Kleeman. "Your allergic reaction seems quite severe. What medicine could make you feel better so quickly?"

Kleeman took out his allergy medication from his pocket and showed it to her.

Yu Xia took it and looked at it, then said, "Can't that all-purpose golden potion you gave me cure your allergy?"

Kleeman: "Okay, but there's not much of this medicine, so we have to save it."

Yu Xia waved the medicine bottle in her hand at him, "Do you keep a lot of this medicine on hand?"

Kleeman: "Not many, just this one bottle. I asked Caesar for it."

Yu Xia put the medicine directly into her pocket, saying, "I'll keep it safe for you."

Kleeman looked puzzled.

Yu Xia said, "Without medicine, you won't want to eat seafood for me anymore."

Kleeman said, "Just some seafood." If he didn't want her to see his unsightly allergy symptoms, he could have endured it without medication.

Yu Xia said, "You're making me seem like a really bad person."

Kleeman chuckled. "You really are bad. You used to bully me a lot."

Yu Xia rolled her eyes inwardly. Who's bullying whom?

She yawned. "I'm so sleepy, I feel like going to bed."

Kleeman sat there without moving. "Go to sleep if you're sleepy."

Yu Xia glanced at him discreetly, then held out her hand to him, saying, "The bed is a bit far."

“So delicate,” Kleeman said, then picked her up and carried her to the bedside.

Lying on the bed, Yu Xia saw that Kleeman was just sitting to one side, so she turned to him, propped her head up, and looked at him. "Are you going to stay with me while I sleep?"

Kleeman glanced at the time on his terminal. "I can stay with you for another hour. Sleep peacefully."

Yu Xia: Where are you going?

Kleeman said, "Work."

Yu Xia hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Is it dangerous? I heard you mention something about killing people before."

Kleeman looked at her and said, "Are you afraid? I kill people."

Yu Xia nodded and then shook her head. "I don't like seeing scenes of killing, but I shouldn't be afraid. I'm just worried that you might be in danger."

Kleeman looked away from her, leaned back in his chair, and relaxed. "Not many people can kill me now. Don't worry, I won't die."

Yu Xia propped herself up and sat up, patting the spot next to the bed to signal him to sit down.

Kleeman got up from his chair and sat down. "Can't sleep?"

He seemed to realize something, and his gaze towards her changed. "What do you want me to do? Are you feeling unwell?"

Yu Xia seemed not to understand him, and tugged at his coat, "Take off your clothes."

Kleeman's heart started racing.

He appeared calm and unhurried as he took off his shirt, but his hands were actually trembling slightly as he unbuttoned it.

Yu Xia saw his reaction and raised her eyebrows almost imperceptibly.

After he took off his shirt, Yu Xia touched the scars on his back and frowned, asking, "How did you get this injury?"

Kleeman's back muscles tensed and his heart pounded as she stroked him.

“Some minor injuries,” he said, his breathing slightly heavy as he stared at Yu Xia.

Yu Xia ran her hand down his right arm, tracing the winding veins, and asked, "What happened to your hand? What are these?"

When she touched his right arm, Kleeman sat up as if startled awake, clutching his right arm and backing away.

Yu Xia looked at his reaction in surprise, "What's wrong? Did I hurt you?"

Kleeman's expression was tense, revealing a hint of pain. At this moment, the red veins on his arm seemed to come alive, surging and moving across his skin while drilling into his flesh and bone marrow.

He could feel that the thing inside him wanted to take over his body and was showing great interest in Yu Xia.

"Go to sleep well. If you need anything, call the sentry at the door." After saying that, Kleeman stumbled out of Yu Xia's room.
