Chapter 739 They hid the people
Everyone in the hall looked at Catherine.

The sharp obsidian blade was pointed at his throat. The capricious Second Prince of the Empire seemed to have run out of patience. With a casual swing, he could sever the head of this newly appointed leader of the Serpent Tribe.

No one wanted to speak up to dissuade them; they were all wondering what the guide, who had captivated the Second Prince, or rather, what Ivi looked like.

After entering Obsidian City, Darren had asked the Serpent Clan for people in public several times.

The fact that the Serpent Clan was hiding Ivi was no secret, but Kaiser and the others didn't admit it.

Before they were able to sit here, no one would have thought, nor dared to think, that Ivy would be kept hidden. Putting aside whether they dared or not, Ivy's abilities alone were not something that could be concealed.

The combined abilities of all the guides in a single watchtower probably couldn't match those of Ivy.

Needless to say, the sentries could be easily controlled by Ivy with a flick of her finger.

It was only thanks to several Dark Guides on Daren's side that the power of the Holy City was able to be suppressed and the various factions were reshuffled.

With the power shift among the leaders of each faction, those sitting here are either those who successfully seized power like Kaiser and his group, or those who were originally neutral but have now sided with Darren and his group after weighing the pros and cons.

In the polluted area, which is the most polluted area, they had no better choice.

Even the Holy City is about to fall here, and the Dragon Clan has suffered even greater losses. They can only protect their tribe and their most important guide by choosing sides.

The atmosphere in the hall became somewhat tense, and Darren's blade began to move.

Kather sat casually in his seat, seemingly oblivious to the sharp blade pointed at him and the murderous intent rising in Darren's eyes.

“Your Highness, the person you seek is not with me,” Catherine smiled. “Didn’t you already send people to our Serpent Tribe to look for him?”

"I'm too lazy to talk nonsense to you!"

Darren was already resentful because he couldn't get the person; he couldn't get what he couldn't get before, and now he couldn't get it either.
He swung his blade, shattering the wine glass in front of Catherine, and aimed it straight at his neck.

A crisp sound of blades clashing echoed through the hall.

'Sevi', standing behind Kaiser, blocked Darren's attack.

Darren looked at 'Sevi's' lifeless eyes and scoffed, "You keep a lot of dogs."

Kaiser glanced at the hooded Dark Guides of Darren and said, "Likewise."

Darren scoffed, "You dare compare yourself to me? If it weren't for me, would you be sitting here challenging me today?"

Catherine's expression remained unchanged, her smile unchanged. "I am very grateful to Your Highness and am willing to serve you."

"Then where is the person I want!" Darren slashed at his chair with his longsword, slicing off a corner of the chair back, and then swung the sword wildly at the obsidian table in front of Catherine.

The sounds were piercing and sharp, and sparks flew everywhere.

After only a few swings, the excessive force caused the obsidian-forged blade to shatter.

The hall fell silent again, with only Darren's panting remaining.

He braced his hands on the edge of the table, staring at Cather like a vicious dog. "What I can give you, I can take back. If you don't give me the person, I'll turn you and that mad dog Kleeman into the same kind of thing as them."

Kaiser turned her head and glanced at 'Sevi' and the others beside her.

“Making a good weapon is not easy,” Kaiser said.

Darren laughed. "You think you can turn all of you into..."

"Your Highness."

A sound interrupted Darren; the sound of boots hitting the ground grew louder as it approached.

Darren looked up at the entrance to the hall, and everyone else followed the sound.

A group of sentries in black combat uniforms surrounded the guide in the middle, who was wearing a white and gold robe, and another sentry with an even taller and more upright figure beside him.

Upon seeing them, everyone's expressions varied, and their eyes revealed a deep sense of wariness. "Gentlemen, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

Charles nodded to everyone, his expression warm and friendly, which made the stern-faced Harrison beside him seem even more aloof.

"What has angered the Second Prince again?" Charles turned his gaze to Darren.

When Darren saw them, he snorted coldly, his arrogance subsided, and he sat back down.

"Hurry up and have the Snake Clan hand her over."

"she?"

"Ando! I want Ando!" Darren shouted like a child, "You're playing dumb with me too, aren't you?"

Charles said, "Your Highness, we went out to find Ando."

Catherine glanced at him, then at Harrison beside him.

Harrison sat down opposite him without saying a word. He must have just finished a battle, as his body was damp and smelled of blood.

"Do we even need to look?" Darren pointed at Catherine. "They're the ones who hid them."

"Your Highness, I have already explained. We did have contact with her, but she has already run away. You know how capable Ivy is; hasn't she already escaped twice right under your noses?"

Catherine said meaningfully.

Harrison stared at him for a long time.

His gaze was not aggressive, but rather calm, yet Kaiser felt as if something was pressing down on his heart. His breathing slowed involuntarily, and his back tensed. He lowered his eyes, his fingers tracing a fragment of obsidian, as if Harrison's gaze had not been on him.

“Young Master Cather is telling the truth.” Charles interrupted the silent standoff between the two, smoothing things over for Cather to Darren. “He wouldn’t hide His Highness Darren’s beloved Ivy, Young Master Cather, wouldn’t you agree?”

Catherine smiled. "Of course not."

After saying that, he shifted the topic to Harrison and his men, "How's your battle going?"

Harrison shifted his gaze from him to the crowd. "The sea people have retreated to the lake district, and the Holy City and the Dragon Clan have vanished from the Red Marsh. Gentlemen, it is time for you to make your decisions."

A sand table projection appeared on the conference table, and everyone looked at the Red Marsh that Harrison had mentioned. It was the death zone in North District 2, where people who entered had virtually no chance of coming out again.

Darren frowned upon hearing this and asked, "What about Ando? Is she with them?"

Charles said, "Your Highness, please calm down. Although we haven't found Princess Ando yet, she is not with the sea tribe of the Holy City."

"Useless!" Darren cursed. "You all found her, how could you let her get away?"

After scolding her, Darren angrily added, "This is a contaminated area. If she keeps running around like this, she might get eaten by the aliens without even knowing it."

“With Princess Ando’s abilities, I believe she can protect herself,” Charles said, his gaze inadvertently sweeping over the Snake Clan members.

"Why not lure the Holy City to Obsidian City?" a high-ranking imperial official interjected. "Those things in the Holy City, aren't they from Ivi?"

"Are you going to go with them?" Charles asked with a smile.

Seeing that the high-ranking official remained silent, Charles continued to address the crowd: "We invited the Holy City, but they declined. As for the Dragon Clan, I think none of you want to experience the feeling of being burned by raging fire."

Darren asked, "Where's Ryan? Is that damned traitor dead?"

Harrison said, "He was with the people of the Holy City, and they all went into the Red Marsh."

Darren's face lit up with satisfaction. "If he submits to me, I might spare his life."

At this point, Darren's eyes flashed with hatred.

He is clearly the rightful heir to the throne, yet his elder brother wants to give it to Ryan?
They even said that Ryan should have been the one paired with Andor. Why?
Everything in the empire belongs to him, and so does she.
