Chapter 451 Collapse and Transformation?

Chapter 451 Collapse and... Transformation?
Yu Sheng stared at the puppet on his shoulder.

After a couple of seconds, he frowned in confusion and asked, "When did I call you?"

Eileen was even more confused than him: "Huh? It wasn't you who called me? I just heard you greeting me in your mind..."

Yu Sheng was stunned for a moment, and then the bizarre scene he had witnessed the instant he "established contact" with the Ominous Wanderer flashed through his mind—

A chaotic space surrounded by endless, hazy veils, behind which flashes a colossal phantom, and what stirs the chaos are limbs that resemble those of some kind of arthropod.

He reached out to the phantom behind the veil, but Eileen in reality heard a "call" from the spiritual realm.

Yu Sheng raised his head and looked at the still "sleeping" Nightmare Wanderer before him, then turned to look at Eileen on his shoulder. The latter was also turning her small face, her scarlet eyes staring straight at him.

Clear, bright, and as pure as ever.

He seemed to have the cunning to easily swindle her out of her pocket money and even trick her into taking out a loan to buy eight boxes of health supplements with cash on delivery.

Eileen frowned sharply, quite perceptively: "Why are you looking at me like that? Are you thinking something very impolite?"

Yu Sheng quickly shook his head, then, with a hint of disbelief in his own eyes, pointed to the stone sphere beside him: "Eileen, do you... recognize this thing?"

"Huh? I know it?" The little doll's eyes widened immediately, and she put her hands on her hips, looking quite dissatisfied. "How could I, the dignified Alice doll, possibly know such an ugly ball—and didn't you hear what Old Man Yuanling said? This ball was captured and locked up here three thousand years ago. How am I supposed to know it?"

Eileen's answer seemed to make no mistake, but Yu Sheng's slightly furrowed brows did not relax, and many strange and even outrageous guesses were still swirling in his mind.

After all, he had dealt with those "weird" things many times. If so many strange events had given him any experience, the most important one must be that in this world where strange things happen one after another, anything is possible. If you find some unbelievable clues in an event, no matter how contrary to common sense they are, it is best to treat them as true first.

Yu Sheng described what he had just seen.

Then Eileen continued to stare at him blankly.

Yu Sheng suspected that the little doll's brain was about to shut down—if there really was something in her head that could shut down.

Hu Li glanced at Yu Sheng and Eileen, then at the ominous wandering star beside him, and pointed at the stone ball, asking Yuan Ling Zhenren, "Why hasn't this ball woken up yet?"

Yuanling Zhenren stroked his beard, but before he could speak, the Snake Princess, not far away, tilted her head back and shouted, "This lady suspects it's passed out..."

Yu Sheng finally couldn't hold back any longer: "Does this snake always speak with such a gritty tone?!"

Master Yuanhe sighed deeply: "Alas, it was even more gritty than this when it was first captured."

The Snake Princess raised several of her heads (except for the dog head that was lying on the ground looking like it was going crazy from the heat) and glared at Yuan He with an air of righteous indignation: "So what!"

Eileen seemed oblivious to the commotion around her. She turned her gaze to the ominous star and stared at the giant stone sphere for a long time before suddenly jumping off Yu Sheng's shoulder and running to the sphere.

After hesitating for a couple of seconds, the little doll reached out and touched the rough, grayish-white outer shell of the stone ball.

"Kacha."

A soft cracking sound instantly interrupted everyone's conversation on the platform. Even Snake Princess, who was about to start arguing with Yuanhe Zhenren, tensed up and nervously looked in the direction from which the sound came.

A tiny crack appeared on the surface of the terrifying gray-white stone sphere.

Yu Sheng stared at the scene, about to ask Eileen what she had done, when he saw the crack rapidly expand, followed by countless other cracks—accompanied by a series of cracking sounds, countless grayish-white fragments began to fall off the surface of the Ominous Planet!

Eileen was instantly terrified by what she saw. The little doll jumped back two or three steps and hugged Yu Sheng's leg, crying, "It's not my fault! I just touched it and it broke! Holy crap! We're not going to have to pay for it, are we?!"

Yu Sheng opened his mouth, but before he could speak, the "Ominous Wandering Star" had already broken into countless fragments in the rapidly expanding shattering. Large and small gray-white fragments and dust collapsed from the layers of chains, turning into a pile of ruins.

Yuan Hao, Yuan Ling, and their fellow disciples, Yuan He, stared in disbelief at the scene. Xuan Che stood to the side, cold sweat pouring down his face. The Snake Queen, who had been so arrogant just a moment ago, had now curled herself into a ball without hesitation, leaving only her head peeking cautiously out through the gap in her tail, muttering to herself, "...Don't mess with me after you kill this one...I'm a protected animal..."

But at that moment, Luna, who had been standing at the edge of the group waiting, suddenly took a step forward. She stood in front of Yu Sheng, her eyes fixed on the smoke-filled, collapsed dust cloud. After a moment's delay, she uttered, "There's something there." Yuanling Zhenren frowned slightly and waved his hand.

A sudden gust of wind arose, instantly dispersing the billowing dust. After the dust settled, there was a pile of tangled, thick chains, large and small gray-white stones scattered on the ground, and a thing floating among the wreckage, about several tens of centimeters off the ground...

Little ball.

Yu Sheng blinked, looking at the suspended object floating above the remnants of the Ominous Planet—it was about the size of an apple, with a bumpy, grayish-white stone-like surface, looking like a miniature planet model. Except for the absence of the terrifying hollow face on its surface, it looked exactly like a miniature version of… “Ominous Planet”.

The platform fell silent. Not only was Yu Sheng completely bewildered, but even the three seasoned immortals were stunned. After a long pause, Yuan Ling Zhenren finally turned to Yuan Hao and said, "Senior Brother, you've traveled for many years..."

“Don’t ask me,” the old man shook his head, “I’ve really never seen this before.”

Then several gazes naturally fell on the culprit—Eileen, clinging to Yu Sheng's leg, was almost crying: "I really don't know what happened! I really just touched it!"

Just as the little doll finished speaking, Yu Sheng saw the "miniature planet" floating among the pile of wreckage suddenly sway!
The next second, the apple-sized stone ball floated gently towards Eileen.

The little doll turned her head and was startled by what she saw. She cried out in surprise and jumped onto Yu Sheng's shoulder in a few quick movements. As a result, the stone ball also floated up and continued to chase after her.

"Holy crap! Why is this thing chasing me?!"

Eileen screamed and jumped from Yu Sheng's shoulder into Hu Li's arms. Then she ran to the ground and started running around the Demon Suppression Platform. But the gray stone ball followed her closely. Although it was moving at a moderate speed, the little doll's short legs couldn't move very fast, and she couldn't shake off the stone ball chasing her.

Suddenly, a bizarre scene appeared on the platform: a 66.6cm tall doll was running in front, and an apple-sized "Ominous Star" was chasing behind, with Eileen making strange noises in between, and every now and then the Snake Princess would shout "Good!"

The fox launched its two tails to try and intercept the stone ball for Eileen, but the ball's "movement" was quite strange. It seemed to move slowly but somehow managed to avoid the fox tails blocking its way. Yuanhao Zhenren took out a brick, but when he saw Eileen so close to the stone ball, he put the brick away. Xuanche rushed forward, trying to knock the ball down with his fists and feet, but every movement he made, even every step he took, was avoided by the stone ball in advance, and in the end, he couldn't even touch it.

The scene was in chaos.

But Yu Sheng noticed something in this sudden "liveliness." When Eileen ran past him for the third time, he suddenly reached out and picked up the little doll.

The little doll didn't react at first, and even as it was lifted into the air by the collar, it was still flailing about, its arms and legs outstretched. After a couple of seconds, it belatedly turned its head and said, "Yu Sheng, what are you doing—"

Yu Sheng raised his chin, gesturing for Eileen to look to the side.

Eileen turned her head and saw the small gray-white stone ball floating next to her shoulder.

"what--"

Yu Sheng shook Eileen: "Don't rush to call it, it's not moving."

Eileen paused for a moment before turning her head to look at the stone ball again. She found that it had indeed stopped "sticking" to her and was instead floating at a distance of a few tens of centimeters, occasionally swaying slowly. It even looked somewhat harmless.

“This thing seems to just want to float around you,” Yu Sheng said thoughtfully, holding the doll in one hand and stroking his chin with the other. “It caught up with you several times just now, but you were too busy running away to notice.”

Eileen was almost in tears: "Why did it chase me... It broke itself..."

Yu Sheng didn't say anything, he just stared straight at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" The little doll immediately shrank its neck. "I, I really don't recognize it..."

“I know you don’t recognize it,” Yu Sheng breathed a sigh of relief, put the little doll back on his shoulder, and muttered to himself as if talking to himself, “It’s okay, I’ll figure out what’s going on.”

Eileen blinked, completely bewildered. She didn't understand what Yu Sheng meant, nor did she understand what was happening. She turned her head to look at the "Ominous Little Star" floating beside her, still feeling a little uneasy, so she reached out and hugged Yu Sheng's head—as if this would make her feel a little more at ease.

Yu Sheng then turned his attention to Yuan Ling and the others.

"Now we should discuss the follow-up issues regarding this 'ball'."
