The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 126 Dirty Things

Chapter 126 Dirty Things

Fountain Street, East Hollywood.

Late at night, with the curtains closed on the second floor of West Coast Studios, Hawke and Megan Taylor had just fallen asleep after a thrilling battle.

In her light sleep, Megan groped for Hawke's arm, subconsciously pulled it open, snuggled into his warm embrace, rested her head on his thick shoulders, and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Hawke also hugged the human-shaped pillow tightly.

Suddenly, the cell phone rang, Hawke woke up from his sleep, and immediately took out his pistol.

Megan, who was woken up, opened her eyes dazedly and saw Hawke holding a pistol, which frightened her sober instantly.

Hawke picked up the phone, put the gun back, patted her white and smooth face gently, and said, "It's okay, someone called, I overreacted."

Megan pointed to the pistol on the bedside table: "Is it necessary?"

"I came to Los Angeles and experienced many shootings." Hawke said vaguely and answered the phone.

Campos called with an urgent matter and asked to meet him.

Hawke hung up the phone, picked up the clothes on the ground and put them on: "You continue to sleep, I have an emergency here and need to go out."

Without Hawke, Megan felt uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything and nodded: "You go."

Before leaving, Hawke warned: "If I'm not back tomorrow morning, go downstairs and leave directly. Don't touch anything on the first floor."

Megan thought of those bastards in the Shorty Gang and responded, “I know.”

Hawke put on his gun, put on makeup, went out and drove to change cars, and met Campos who was waiting there in the agreed safe house.

The latter also wore makeup and brought a laptop and printed digital photos.

Campos placed the laptop in front of Hawke and showed him all the videos shot during the day and night. He then took out the photos and placed them next to him one by one.

The video was intermittent and only captured some key parts, but it was enough for Hawke to grasp three important characters.

Bro Derek, the blonde girl, and the long-faced man in a suit.

Hawke said, "What happened exactly?"

Campos recounted everything he had seen.

On the surface, everything seems normal. For a producer like Bro Derek, it is easy to seduce an actress.

Not to mention anything else, if a director of Eric's level wants to take advantage of an actor, no matter if he is male or female, there will be a queue of hundreds of people in front of his door.

But Hawke had seen the sordid affairs surrounding Akerman Films and had been one of the victims, so he felt that things would not be so simple.

He thought for a moment and asked, "Does Superstar have classes tomorrow?"

"Yes." Campos asked someone to pretend to be a registrant and specifically inquired: "The training class has two sessions a month, and the fee is very high."

Hawke nodded. "You and your people will continue to keep an eye on them tomorrow, paying special attention to whether the blonde girl shows up. If she doesn't, remember to notify me... Also, find out the time for their next training session."

Campos responded: "Okay."

Hawke put away the photos, took out a storage disk, and copied all the videos.

Not long after, the two left the safe house from the front and back doors respectively.

Hawke returned to the studio. Megan was still sleeping soundly, so he went to catch up on his sleep before dawn.

The next morning, Megan opened her mouth and bit the lamppost warrior to wake him up, making up for the morning exercise that Hawke was unable to do because he woke up late.

There was still work to do today, so Hawke dealt with Megan as quickly as possible and sent her away.

When Megan went out, she saw Frank with an ashtray, took out five dollars and put it in.

Frank wanted to speak, but found that the window of the studio opposite was open, and a bastard was standing in front of the window with a slingshot in his hand.

He swallowed his words back.

Seeing Megan driving away, Hawke put down the slingshot and gave Frank the middle finger.

Frank gave him two in return and continued his great cause of begging.

As long as you are alive, you will keep begging.

After Hawke had a simple breakfast, Edward carried his photography equipment bag and went into the studio to charge his camera and camcorder.

He had dark circles under his eyes and looked dazed.

Hawke asked, "Was you out filming last night?"

"No." Edward didn't know what to say. He paused for a moment and said, "I don't know what happened to Deborah. Some Indians persuaded her to buy some aphrodisiac drugs for women. She used some last night and I was beaten to a pulp."

Hawke pointed to the lamp post outside the window and said, "I'll teach you a trick. Climb up and down 50 times a day. It won't matter what Deborah eats."

"Boss, I'm not the lamp pole god of war." Edward looked at the seven or eight meter high lamp pole and thought it would be better to continue to be squeezed dry.

In the middle of the morning, Campos called.

Hawke answered: "What's going on?"

Campos said quickly, "The blonde girl didn't show up. I can confirm that."

He said something else: "The next training session will start in five days. The training school is distributing advertisements in Hollywood. There should not be many places left."

"I understand. Keep watching." Hawke hung up the phone and said to Edward, "Let's go."

Edward took the keys to the Cadillac.

Hawke made a phone call as he walked out the door, and when the call was connected, he asked, "It's me, where are you?"

Director Eric Eason smiled and said, "We are filming right now. It's a coincidence that you called me. The crew is just taking a break."

Hawke asked directly: "Is Jacqueline on your side?"

"It will take two more days for her scenes to be completed." Eric looked at the set and asked the assistant again, who replied, "She is on the set."

Hawke said, "I'll visit the set in a bit. We can have lunch together at noon."

"No problem." Eric agreed immediately.

Hawke threw the keys to the Audi A8 to Edward: "Drive this one."

Edward put away his car keys, drove the A8 that Steve had given him, and headed straight for Burbank.

Arriving at Warner Studios, the two changed to a four-wheeled electric vehicle and found the studio where Eric's crew was located.

The two did not rush to go in, but continued walking inside and found a secluded and deserted place.

Hawke sent a text message to Jacqueline and waited a little while.

The latter put on a coat over his costume and quickly came over here.

Hawke looked her up and down and found that there was almost no trace of worldly air in Jacqueline: "It seems that you enjoy this job."

Jacqueline smiled and said, "I was prepared to eat a lot of men's stuff, but you helped me. I didn't have to eat that stuff, and I got a good role."

Hawke nodded and said, "When will the filming be finished? What are your plans after the filming? Will you go back and continue?"

"I'll continue working at night. This job can't support me." Jacqueline tasted the sweetness and had an idea about the career of an actor: "During the day, I'll go to the crew, production studio and agency more often and try to find another job."

Hawke reminded: "You still need to improve yourself, especially in acting, because this role is special."

Jacqueline smiled happily: "I didn't expect that I would be asked to play a prostitute."

Hawke said, "In five days, a new acting training session will begin at the Super Star Acting School near Paramount Studios. You can attend this training class, and I will pay for the tuition."

Jacqueline knew it wasn't that simple: "What do you need me to do?"

"Pay attention to other female students." Hawke would not let her do anything too complicated or dangerous, and Jacqueline did not have the ability to do so: "If a beautiful female student suddenly disappears during the course, notify me immediately."

Jacqueline was stunned: "It's that simple?"

Hawke warned: "Don't talk nonsense, don't ask nonsense, don't ask casually, just observe with your eyes, safety first."

"I understand." Jacqueline has made progress during her time on the crew and no longer asks questions that are not necessary.

Hawke gave her the address of the Superstar Training School and waved his hand: "Go back. Just pretend you don't know us on the set."

Jacqueline returned to the studio.

Hawke didn't go over and waited outside for a while.

When the crew was taking a break at noon, Eric came over and called Edward, and the three of them went to the restaurant to eat together.

Hawke asked, "When will the film be finished? Has the release date been set?"

"We can finish filming this month, and it will take at least three months for post-production." Eric has no say on the release of the film: "It's tentatively scheduled to be released next year, but the exact date has not yet been determined."

Hawke picked up the glass of freshly squeezed juice and said, "I wish you success."

Edward also joined in the fun: "When you become a big director, you must reserve a position for me as an assistant director or casting director in the crew."

Eric clinked glasses with the two men and asked Edward, "Are you going to change your career?"

"No, no, I will always follow the boss." Edward has learned enough about Hollywood during this period: "As a director and producer, of course I have to take the right path! What is this right path? Of course, sleep with celebrities!" He rubbed his hands: "There are quite a lot of divorced female celebrities with children in Hollywood!"

Hawke knows this guy, he can do it, not just talk.

But he was too lazy to say more and asked Eric: "Is the script about the freelance journalist finished?"

"I've only completed part of the outline." Eric said seriously, "After we finish shooting this movie, I'll have time to experience life with you guys."

Edward had an idea: "Why don't you follow us and make a documentary?"

Eric became interested and looked at Hawke: "Boss, how about I make you the protagonist and shoot..."

"Not appropriate." Hawke interrupted him and said directly: "People like me are not suitable to appear on the stage for the time being."

Edward changed the subject: "Where's Catherine?"

Eric said, "She will probably come in the afternoon. There are many actresses in the crew, and she is not very confident about me."

Hawke advised: "Catherine treats you well, if you really have to, just marry her."

"I don't want to be a slut for the rest of my life." Eric is a male director with dreams: "I also want to have sex with female stars."

Hawke did not comment.

This kind of thing happened not only to Edward and Eric. If it were him, if he became a big director or producer, would he resist the urge to make a red sofa or read scripts at night?
To use the words of a big internet tycoon from my previous life, if you don’t do this after entering the film and television industry, that would be a crooked path!
If there are two golf balls and a beautiful actress in front of you, what will you choose?

In the afternoon, Campos called again. The afternoon acting class had ended, and the blonde girl had not shown up.

Hawke asked Edward to rent a car temporarily and drove to Knock Street.

Before they even got close to the motel, he had Edward park in a roadside parking space.

Hawke took out a telescope and observed carefully. After a long time, he found that many cars nearby came and went, but two cars never moved.

One of the cars was empty and the other had people on board.

He guessed that someone might be paying attention to the motel, and said to Edward, "No need to look anymore, let's go."

Then the two went to Venice again and passed by the seaside club that Campos mentioned.

Hawke observed carefully and found that there seemed to be multiple surveillance cameras at the entrance and on the wall of the club.

If you approach rashly, you will easily be discovered and will also alert the enemy.

Hawke didn't ask Edward to stop the car, but walked by normally.

After leaving Venice, Edward found a place to park the car, transferred the video from the dashcam to his laptop, and opened the video for Hawke to watch: "Boss, look here, here, and here, they should all be surveillance cameras."

Hawke nodded: "It's very dense. Even if there are blind spots, people can't get in."

Edward has been with Hawke for more than half a year, and he has gained some experience: "This kind of high-end private club receives unusual guests and often engages in secret entertainment. It is rare to install a large number of surveillance cameras. This one is not normal."

Hawke warned: "Don't take pictures, and don't get close without my consent."

"I'll remember that." Edward responded immediately.

Hawke thought for a moment and said, "Let's go to the electronics market and the model airplane market."

Edward started the car and went to Santa Monica Commercial Plaza first.

Hawke went to many stores but couldn't find what he wanted.

These days, drones that can carry cameras into the sky for filming are rare in the civilian market.

Hawke called Erica and asked, "Do you have time to have dinner together tonight?"

"I can't be sure yet." Erica's job is very busy when there are cases: "I'll call you back before five o'clock."

Hawke responded, "Okay."

He said to Edward, "Go back to Fountain Street first, you can go home from get off work."

Edward suddenly didn't want to go to Brentwood and said, "Can I stay at the studio tonight?"

Considering that he had a date with Erica that night and was unsure about where to stay, Hawke said, "Not tonight. I have a date with Erica."

Thinking of the police chick and looking at his own skin color, Edward cried, "Here, I'm afraid the LAPD will empty my bullets. If I go back to Brentwood, I'm afraid Deborah will empty my bullets."

At this point, he shuddered: "No, I have no bullets to use now, this is the most terrifying thing."

Hawke could only sympathize.

Edward said, "Women over 30 are too scary." He could only ask for help: "Boss, you have many ways..."

"This kind of thing?" Hawke thought for a moment and said, "Find a supermarket or store that sells a lot of imported oriental goods."

Edward perked up: "I know where it is."

Ten minutes later, the car stopped in front of a store in Koreatown.

Hawke got out of the car alone, went into the store to look for it, and soon found it.

He bought it, took it into the car, and handed it to Edward: "Remember, just use a little."

Edward looked at the letters and Chinese characters on it: "This kind of thing?"

"This is called Fengyoujing, also known as women's happiness water." Hawke said simply: "Apply it to that place."

Edward is an old black man and is particularly curious: "Can I use it?"

Hawke is a good boss: "I'll give it to you. You can try it if you want."

Edward took the woman's happy water and suddenly found his confidence. He returned to Fountain Street, changed his Cadillac, and immediately rushed to Brentwood.

Erica called Hawke just before five and said she would be a little later.

It was almost 7:30 in the evening when the two met in a restaurant.

Hawke saw the exhaustion on her face and asked, "Have you been busy these days?"

Erica said simply, "A serial murder case." She also had a rule on her side: "Don't go into details."

Hawke nodded: "If you need my help, just come to me."

"I won't be polite with you." Erica said, "The award ceremony has basically been confirmed. It will be held at the Parker Center before Christmas. I'll give it to you when the invitation arrives."

Hawke said, “I will definitely be there.”

Erica took out her cell phone and made a call in front of Hawke: "Mom, I'm not going home tonight."

This woman likes to pull, and Hawke does too: "Aren't you going to convert your villa in the Silver Lake community into a collection room? Is it finished?"

Erica said, "It's finished, do you want to go and see it?"

Hawke said, "Just go after dinner."

"Remember to buy condoms." Erica said generously, "I forgot to prepare them."

Hawke smiled and said, "I was ready before I came here."

After dinner, the two drove to Silver Lake, which is adjacent to East Hollywood.

The Silver Lake community was built around a lake and is also a newly developed wealthy community in Los Angeles in recent years.

The house Erica was talking about was a large villa with front and back yards. Although it was not as good as the tens of millions of mansions in Beverly Hills, it was definitely worth several million dollars.

After getting out of the car and closing the door, Erica came over and hugged Hawkes for a kiss.

While struggling with her, Hawke carried her into the house, found the electric switch, and closed all the curtains.

The two of them, like conjoined twins, carefully visited many rooms, especially the renovated exhibition room.

Unfortunately, every display case and booth was empty, and the grizzly bear specimen had not been prepared yet.

As the two of them lay in the spacious jacuzzi, Hawke asked one thing: "Do you have any channels to buy a small drone?"

Erica asked, "The Predators used in Afghanistan?"

"It's even smaller than that, and it can be equipped with wireless cameras and fly low to film," Hawke said.

Erica understood, leaned on Hawke's shoulder, and said, "LAPD doesn't have the equipment now. I haven't noticed it before. You can ask Brian when you have time."

"Let's not talk about this anymore." Hawke pulled Erica over and said, "Let's lie down together."

Over the next two days, Campos was certain that the blonde girl had really disappeared.

A new session of the superstar training class began, and Jacqueline signed up and started to attend the training.

Hawke called Brian, who was busy with a lawsuit and said he would help keep an eye on it.

By mid-November, the name of the Beverly Beauty Center appeared on Caroline's daily schedule with Sarah Parker.

Hawke called a meeting with Edward and Campos that night, and Campos, who had been hiding in the dark, would be in charge of the filming.
