The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 185 Bullying

The next morning, the Los Angeles Times published news about Brian.

Although as one of the three major newspapers in North America, it did not make wild speculations like the tabloids, and only reported that the mayoral candidate of Covina had taken an AIDS test, but in the eyes of the relevant people, it would naturally leave the impression that this guy was particularly indecent.

From a legal perspective, this is nothing. There is no regulation that prohibits people with AIDS from running for election.

Besides, Brian wasn't infected.

Invisible discrimination is everywhere.

Brian also made a clarification, but the effect was only average.

In the office, Edward came in with a bunch of gossip newspapers and placed them in front of Hawke and Brian.

Hawke picked up a copy of the National Enquirer, a widely circulated newspaper, and saw Brian's photo on the front page of the second edition.

He shook his head and exclaimed: "Man, you really know how to enjoy yourself, taking care of three models by yourself."

The background of the photo is a private beach. There are four people in total. The man is Brian, and the other three women look like models based on their figures.

The four of them were lying on the beach, Brian was pressing on a model's butt, holding the most prominent points of the model on both sides with his left and right hands, a typical pervert.

Edward was indignant: "You don't even call me boss when you're flirting with models. You're so disloyal."

Brian's face was so dark that it looked like it could rain, and he said, "When I was playing here, I didn't know Hawke!"

Hawke said, "Your past is about to be exposed."

"It must be those bastards who did it. This team is obviously here to mess things up." Brian made up his mind: "We have to take action as soon as possible."

Hawke said directly: "In practice, you need your people to do it."

Brian knew very well that this was a matter concerning his future, so he said, "No problem."

He asked instead: "Have the Grants been found?"

Even if we know the names and appearances of the four people, it is still quite difficult to find them in the huge city of Los Angeles.

"Not yet." Hawke had a corresponding countermeasure: "This team is here to stop you and assist Owen Nestor in his campaign. They must contact Owen. If we have someone follow Owen, there will always be gains."

Brian quickly took out his cell phone and called another assistant, Bacon.

The latter contacted the security company controlled by the Ferguson family.

Edward looked at Hawke and volunteered, "Boss?"

This guy is an excellent driver and has a strong ability to track vehicles. Hawke nodded slightly at him.

Edward immediately left the office, got the keys to a regular car, drove away from Twitter and headed straight for Covina.

Midway through, he called Campos.

Coming off the highway, before driving into Covina, Edward noticed an artificial citrus sign more than two meters high erected at the main entrance of the town.

Covina is famous for its citrus production and processing.

He had heard from Brian before that the huge fake citrus tree at the intersection was an image project created by Owen Nestor specifically for the election.

Edward drove to the vicinity of City Hall and met Campos.

The two looked at each other from a distance without saying hello.

In the city hall, Owen, who was in his forties, was overweight, had a big belly, and a slightly bald head, but he looked very majestic.

He signed a document and called the driver: "Let's go to school."

The two went out, got into a Lexus, and headed to East Middle School in Covina.

Edward and Campos had a good understanding of each other and followed them alternately.

But unlike expected, the Lexus stopped in front of a middle school.

Owen looked grim and walked into the school gate alone.

Edward and Campos didn't dare to get too close. They stopped the car far away in two directions and picked up binoculars to observe this side.

Not long after, Owen led a burly brown-haired boy out of the school and got into the car together.

The car started and left the school gate.

A Mexican mother and son came out of the school gate.

The boy stood at the door, looking at the Lexus going away, filled with resentment.

Campos saw the situation here and called Edward: "Go talk to Owen, I'll see what's going on with this mother and son."

Edward drove far behind the Lexus.

Here, after the Mexican mother and son got into an old Ford, Campos drove after them.

After more than ten minutes, the Ford stopped in front of the diner and the mother and son got out and entered the restaurant.

After waiting for a while, Campos also entered the restaurant.

The Mexican woman stood behind the counter and the boy was dressed as a waiter.

Seeing the man coming in with a Mexican face, the woman greeted him warmly: "Hello, how can I help you?"

Campos glanced at the menu: "One burrito, one quesadilla and French fries, and a Coke."

The woman smiled and said, "Please wait a moment."

She handed the menu to the kitchen, and when Campos paid, he secretly took a look inside. The chefs in the kitchen were an elderly couple.

This is clearly a small family run restaurant.

Campos found a seat and sat down.

Not long after, the boy came over with a tray and put down various dishes.

Campos gave him a two-dollar tip and asked casually, "You're working at such a young age, and you don't want to study?"

"Thank you." The boy was very polite. He took the tip and said, "I had something to do today, so I came back early." Campos looked at the wound on his face and asked, "Did you have a conflict with a classmate?"

The boy didn't respond, his expression showing anger.

"It's okay. When I was a kid, I was often bullied by white bullies in school." What Campos said is common in middle schools: "There is a lot of bullying in school. If you encounter it, you have to resist and fight back."

The boy, also of Mexican descent, whispered, “I can’t beat him.”

Campos said: "Are there any Mexicans among your classmates? Find a way to unite them and fight back together. If you don't fight back against school bullies, you will only be bullied more severely."

The woman at the counter yelled, "Rod, the kitchen needs your help."

"Thanks for the tip." The boy turned back to the kitchen.

After finishing his meal, Campos left the restaurant, got into his car, took out his notebook, and wrote down the name of the restaurant and Rod.

He has always followed Hawke's teachings, watching more, listening more, and remembering more.

These might come in handy.

As it got dark, Campos called Edward and learned nothing today.

The two swapped shifts with Carlos and Garcia and returned to West Los Angeles.

Three days later, Edward finally made a discovery.

Owen Nestor drove alone to the financial district of Los Angeles and entered a club.

Edward waited for a few minutes and saw four people getting out of a new Toyota Alpha.

He recognized the faces of these four people at a glance. They were extremely similar to those in Brian's profile.

And there are three men and one woman.

Edward quickly called Campos and Hawke.

Inside the club, Grant and three other people went into the reception room together and met Owen Nestor.

The latter smiled and said, "The action against that bastard Brian was very successful. Negative news about him is everywhere in the media. His clarifications have basically no effect. He has even dared not show up in Covina recently."

Grant was very cautious: "Don't be blindly optimistic. Brian is easy to deal with, but the man behind him is the real trouble."

"Yes, you mentioned it to me last time." Owen has lived in Covina all his life. His horizons are not particularly broad, and he didn't take the guy that Grant and the other four mentioned seriously. "What's his name?"

Haley said solemnly: "That man is Hawke Osment, the founder and CEO of Twitter! Note that what he is best at is not business, but business consulting!"

Owen was surprised: "Same as you guys?"

“We launched an operation against him once and it failed,” Grant said.

Owen finally got serious: "Why are we attacking Brian so much? Apart from clarifying through formal channels, they have not taken any other action."

"That's what we're worried about," Augusto continued. "We're waiting for his next move."

Madison said: "This person likes to hide behind the scenes and frame people with intrigues and schemes."

Hearing the four people's serious words, Owen was a little worried: "When are you coming to Covina?"

Grant said, "Don't worry, let's see what Hawk Osment is going to do first."

Owen said, "Hurry up, that bastard Brian's campaign office will be set up soon."

A business car drove into the club parking lot.

In the back seat, Hawke and Brian each picked up a telescope and looked towards the club through the car windows covered with special glass film.

Soon, the two found the Toyota Alpha that Edward mentioned.

After waiting for about half an hour, four people came out of the club and got on the car.

Hawke saw it clearly and said, "Yes, that's the four of them."

Brian looked at the photo many times and said, "It's definitely them!"

Hawke picked up his phone and called out: "Cross tracking, don't be discovered."

Another person came out of the clubhouse, and Brian reminded Hawke, "That bald guy is Owen Nestor."

Hawke had read Owen's detailed information and recognized him at a glance: "No doubt about it."

For tracking, in addition to Campos and Edward, four other vehicles were scattered at nearby intersections.

Hawke didn't have to wait long before he got the message back.

Edward called: "Boss, we found their lair. Four people rented an office in the Aon Center building in the financial district. We were afraid of alerting them, so we didn't dare to ask which floor they were on."

Hawke directly ordered: "You and Campos and others take turns to keep an eye on their people and cars."

"I understand." Edward hung up the phone.

Hawke hung up the phone and looked at Brian: "The person has been found. Have you found the right person?"

Brian thought about how he had been stripped of his underwear by those bastards these days, and said with a grin, "The people and cars are ready, and we have also prepared several retreat plans in case of success or failure."

If it were somewhere else, the Ferguson family might not have such great power.

But this is Los Angeles, their home base.

The plan was well made, but it could not keep up with the changes. Edward, Campos and others watched them for several days in a row, but the four people rarely went out, so there was no suitable opportunity at all.

Brian was a little anxious because the media attacks put him under a lot of pressure.

Not everyone can remain calm and composed when watching the media expose their scandals every day.

He found Hawke and asked anxiously, "What should we do now?"

Hawke thought about it and put himself in their shoes. He said, "This time, they took the initiative and we haven't responded effectively. They may be waiting for our next move."

He pondered for a moment and said, "Aren't you going to set up a campaign office? Make it bigger." (End of this chapter)
