The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 213 Common Goal

Brian chose the Beverly Business Club for the evening dinner.

There are business rooms with excellent sound insulation here, which are very convenient for several people to talk and chat.

Hawke and Brian came first, while Erica and Jennifer were more than ten minutes late because of work.

The two men came in a hurry and only wore casual clothes.

Hawke specially toasted Jennifer: "Thank you for your help in Kobe calling the police."

"It's just a small matter. I should do it." Jennifer was very self-conscious and glanced at Brian who was sitting next to her: "You helped him so much, I have to repay you."

Brian was suddenly startled and quickly said, "Don't be like this, we are just ordinary friends. I will repay Hawke's favor myself, so you don't have to worry about it."

Erica deliberately clinked glasses with Jennifer: "Brian still owes me a lot of favors, how are you going to repay me?"

"You are the LAPD, I am the FBI, we are sworn enemies in Los Angeles." Jennifer drank and looked at Brian: "Since he is your cousin, I will give you some courtesy in the future."

Erica said, "The largest armed organization in Los Angeles is the LAPD. I should give you the benefit of the doubt."

Hawke interrupted the two men: "We are here for dinner, don't bring work disputes into your life."

Erica, who never contradicted Hawke in public, raised her glass and said, "Cheers to our friendship."

Hawke followed immediately.

Jennifer and Brian also held cups.

The four of them ate and chatted. Strictly speaking, they also formed a community of interests.

The topic inevitably turned to suicide cases.

Jennifer said: "There must be a huge group behind Ackerman Pictures, but the higher-ups don't dare to investigate easily."

"How do we investigate? What should we do if we find out?" Brian was telling the truth: "Neither the Elephant Party nor the Donkey Party wants the situation to become uncontrollable. That is not in the interests of either side."

Hawke took a tissue and wiped his hands. "That's not entirely true, because the Elephant Party is not sure they can kill the other party directly. They can't just beat them all to death with one stick. It will inevitably cause backlash later. People who have reached high positions all have things that are shady. If they are exposed, they will all be doomed together."

Brian said frankly: "Yes, there are not many people who are as open and honest as me in politics."

Jennifer asked, “Why did you get tested for HIV?”

"It's all his fault!" Brian almost pointed at Hawke's nose and cursed: "I was tricked by him."

Hawke said, "When you move into the Oval Office in the future and write your memoirs, you must include this paragraph. I don't mind as long as you give me a share of the copyright."

Erica and Jennifer both laughed.

The former said: "In order to get a share of Brian's presidential memoirs, why don't we work together to push him into that seat."

Jennifer said seriously: "The deep blue media has been criticizing the incumbent, saying that a pig can sit in the Oval Office, and Brian is smarter than that pig."

Brian's face darkened.

Hawke finally understood why Jennifer couldn't get him: she came from a good family, was pretty, was Brian's classmate at Stanford Law School, and was the one chasing the boy.

Erica quickly responded, "It's settled. The four of us will form a special group to help Brian get into the Oval Office."

"Okay." Hawke picked up the bottle and poured a glass for each person: "Work hard for a common goal."

Jennifer also knew that she had said the wrong thing, so she clinked her glass with Brian: "Cheers."

After the four of them finished their meal, Jennifer took Brian away first.

Hawke and Erica got in their cars and returned to 20th Street in Santa Monica.

Two cars drove into the garage one after another. When Hawke closed the garage door, Erica glanced outside and found that the lights were on in the house across the street that had been empty. She asked, "A new neighbor has moved in over there?"

Hawke said, "He moved in a few days ago. I think his name is Tim. I'm not sure what he does."

The two men left the garage and entered the living room through the inner door.

Erica slumped on the sofa, not wanting to move: "I ran around outside all day today."

"You won't have to go out on field trips if you get promoted again, right?" Hawke sat next to her and put his arm around her shoulders. "When will you get promoted again?"

Erica got into Hawke's arms: "I'm only 23 years old. It's difficult to advance to the next level in a short period of time."

Hawke started the pulling mode: "Do you want to ask Brian to show his power?"

Erica laughed: "If he dares to talk nonsense again, I will give Jennifer some medicine..."

"He is your cousin." Hawke also laughed: "Although he is also the leader of the Curse God Cult."

Erica, however, became serious: “It doesn’t matter now, but going forward, Brian not being married will become a disadvantage.”

Hawke pulled her up and said, "Come on, go upstairs and take a shower."

…………

Ocean Parkway, Twitter office building.

Edward also has a small office suite on the top floor where he keeps his daily items.

When he came back in the afternoon, he was still packing up.

The valuables received from Deborah, such as watches, jewelry, etc., were all packed in a bag.

Most of these are left over from Robert Downey Jr.

Some of it was newly bought by Deborah.

Like clothes and daily necessities, as their income increased, after Deborah gave gifts every time, Edward would also choose gifts for her and her son.

After packing up all his things, Edward took the keys to the Cadillac, went downstairs and drove to Brentwood.

By the way, he called a security guard from the company and drove the Audi A8 that Hawke gave him, so that he would not have no car when he returned. Love is sweet when it comes, but daily life becomes difficult after the passion fades.

Especially for Edward.

On the way, he made a phone call to make sure Deborah was at home, and drove into the mansion.

As soon as the car stopped, Deborah came out of the house and saw Edward getting out of the car. She asked loudly, "Have you made your choice? Do you want that never-ending job, or do you want to stay with us?"

Although the opposing team, Hei Xiaoshuai, was young and strong with excellent skills, he was often too busy with work to come to Brentwood, which was hard for Deborah to accept.

It doesn't provide enough physical value, and it doesn't provide enough emotional value.

Edward took the things out of the car and sighed, "I'm sorry, I can't betray the boss, let alone the company. That's it."

Deborah's face turned grim.

Edward carried the bag, placed it in front of Deborah, and took out the Cadillac keys: "These are the ones you gave me..."

Deborah grabbed the car keys and said, "You can get out now."

Lovers turned against each other and became like enemies.

Edward turned around and walked outside, with his hands in his trouser pockets. The wind blew the corners of his clothes up, giving him a sense of elegance and freedom.

This time, he never looked back.

Deborah followed unconsciously to the gate of the courtyard.

Edward went out, took out an ordinary Nokia phone and made a call.

Under the illumination of street lights, a brand new Audi A8 drove up from a distance and stopped in front of Edward.

The security guard Jerry, who was driving, was particularly observant. He immediately got out of the car, opened the back door, and said, "President, please get in the car."

Edward didn't even look at the door and got into the car with his head down.

Jerry got back to the driver's seat, turned on the Audi's bright headlights, turned the car around, and drove back toward the road.

Deborah stood at the gate of the courtyard, watching this scene, and suddenly found that Edward was different from before.

In the car, Jerry was still comforting his boss: "As for women, the old ones don't go away, the new ones don't come. With your current status and position, it's not difficult to pick up a Hollywood female star."

When Edward heard the word "female star", Sarah Parker and Alison Faith automatically flashed through his mind. He quickly shook his head and said, "Those Hollywood female stars should be left to the Hollywood producers and directors to enjoy."

One thing he didn't mention is that it costs money to hire a Hollywood star.

Back at Twitter, Edward was living in his office suite, so he pulled out his little notebook and looked through the list.

Sarah Parker had a miscarriage, so just cross it out.

Joanna Faith does have a daughter, Alison Faith, but both mother and daughter are too promiscuous.

Edward once heard from their agent that after the selfie scandal became a huge success, the two invited a dozen male models to their home for a party.

No normal man can stand them.

Cross it out.

Saint Steve Nutt's wife Daisy gave birth to a black boy, and Edward originally thought that the couple would divorce soon.

He also specifically asked Daisy for her contact information at Fox TV.

But the Nutters never divorced. Instead, they formed the so-called American New Age family with the model of one black and two white.

others?
Edward thought, is it really going to be a long window period? Let my brother take a long vacation?

It would be a disgrace to Compton.

Edward then discovered that he had turned two pages at a time in the book, and quickly opened the two pages that were stuck together.

A name appeared on the newly opened notebook page.

Maria Collins!

Miller Collins' wife is raising a child, and the two are divorced.

Edward remembered that they had a daughter, whose name seemed to be Dorothy.

It's really pitiful that Maria found O as her husband.

Edward went to turn on his computer and checked on the Internet.

As expected, Maria divorced Miller and the former got almost all the property.

Edward doesn't really care about property or anything like that. With the development trend of Twitter, he will be at least a millionaire in the future.

Even being a multi-millionaire is not a fantasy.

What Edward needs is emotional value, which he can enjoy himself and provide to his eldest brother.

He is very capable, but his abilities are average, and he focuses on being loyal.

Edward found that in one of the messages he searched, Maria was linked to Twitter. When he clicked on it, it turned out to be Maria's Twitter account.

There were quite a few tweets posted on it, some with pictures, most of which were photos of Maria and her daughter Dorothy.

Judging from the latest tweet, the two are traveling in Canada to cool off, and the photos they took also include ski resorts.

Edward logged into his Twitter account, followed Maria's account, liked several of her tweets, and commented on them.

"The ski resort is average, and the people are very beautiful." (End of this chapter)
