The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 238: Three Disasters in Los Angeles

East Los Angeles, Covina.

A brand new armored Mercedes Benz drove up Central Street and stopped at the steps of City Hall.

Hawke rolled down the window and waved toward the steps.

Brian just came out of the door, took a few quick steps, and got into the back seat.

After the car door closed, Hawke said to Raul who was driving, "Go to the Los Angeles branch."

The car drove back and when it entered the main road, Brian talked about the latest situation: "Jennifer found some clues and sent someone to the Burbank Hotel early this morning to summon Douglas Coster to the branch office for questioning."

Hawke asked, "Have you collected direct evidence for the clues I provided?"

"Without evidence, confessions alone are not enough." Brian was not hopeful: "Now the media are reporting on this case, it has a great influence. The Los Angeles Federal Prosecutor's Office has been watching it. Chief Prosecutor Garrison has a blue background. Don't expect the FBI to play a big role."

Hawke really had no hope and decided to do it himself from the beginning.

Tim fed the shark and Coulson was stabbed dozens of times.

Hawke didn't waste any words and whispered, "The two direct executors we found went to see God."

Brian was startled at first, then returned to normal.

Considering that Erica has been separated from Hawke since the incident, it is not uncommon for a few deaths when the two biggest disasters in Los Angeles come together.

As one of the parties involved, Brian almost gave a thumbs up: "Well done."

Hawke continued: "The mastermind is Douglas Coster, and he is also our next target."

“He’s staying at the Burbank Hotel,” Brian said.

"I know. Someone has been watching over there." Hawke briefly described the situation over there. "Douglas has four personal bodyguards. On the day of the incident, an 11-man security team was dispatched. We live in a society ruled by law now. I can't just use a car bomb to blow up the Burbank Hotel."

Although the other side had done this before, Brian knew that he couldn't do it now.

If you really do this, you will inevitably become the target of attack from the entire United States.

Brian said: "In all these years, this is the closest I have ever been to death at Citrus Square."

Hawke had experienced many similar dangers, but his desire for revenge had not diminished at all. He said, "We may not be able to do anything these days, but we know who the enemy is and where they are hiding."

Brian has the same blood as Erica flowing in his veins. Without any hesitation or consideration, he said in a cold voice: "Douglas and these bastards must die!"

Hawke wanted this effect, and said, "Mobilize all the forces you can to collect all the information about Blackrock and Douglas, not limited to him personally, but also including his work, life, friends and family, etc."

Brian was suddenly startled: "What do you want to do?"

Hawke comforted him, "Don't worry, I'm not that kind of crazy person."

It would have been better if he hadn't said this. Once he said it, Brian kept looking Hawke up and down, always feeling that he was planning something.

As the car entered downtown Los Angeles and gradually approached the FBI branch, Hawke remembered something crucial and warned: "Don't talk nonsense in the future."

Even at this point, Brian still spoke as stubbornly as a crow: "It's really not me who is the calamity star, but you."

"Forget it, forget it." Hawke was too lazy to argue: "It's just you, me and Erica, is that okay?"

Brian blinked, and suddenly felt that this made some sense: "The three disaster stars of Los Angeles?"

The Mercedes arrived at the FBI Los Angeles branch, and many media reporters gathered at the main entrance.

In the past two days, the hottest news in Los Angeles and even in the whole of California is the car explosion and shooting incident in Covina.

Hawke has been busy tracking down the real culprit behind the incident and has never made any response to the public.

However, Brian, as the half-mayor of Covina, was briefly interviewed by Fox TV.

Hawke made a phone call, and the Mercedes drove around to the side door of the branch and went straight in.

When I got off the car, Jennifer Huey had already come out of the building.

She stepped forward and shook Hawke's hand, saying, "I asked you to come here this time mainly because there are some things that need to be confirmed again. It will be done soon."

Hawke nodded: "I hope you can catch the real culprit soon."

Jennifer glanced at Hawke and said, "I hope so, but the situation is not optimistic. Now the Federal Prosecutor's Office is keeping an eye on us, and they are just about to put our every word and every action under a microscope. This is damn politics."

"You have a way to deal with these." Brian picked the person up first.

The three of them walked into the building. Seeing that there was no one around, Jennifer whispered, "The Los Angeles branch is no longer the same as it was when I first arrived. During the last beach club incident, we took advantage of the unexpected and fought a good battle, but then trouble came."

Hawke guessed: "Donkey has also sent people over."

Jennifer spread her hands and said, "How can it be possible for an FBI branch in a big city like Los Angeles to dominate the market alone? As soon as we gained a little advantage, people vying for power and profit came rushing over."

Brian looked around and said, "Even if we find the real murderer, will someone tip us off?"

"Since Hoover's death, this kind of thing has happened less frequently in the FBI?" Jennifer is almost used to it: "It's really hard to get things done. There are party disputes everywhere."

Hawke still said the same thing: "Because those who are not on our side automatically stand on the enemy side."

When we arrived at a reception room, in addition to Jennifer, there was also a civilian staff member who joined the questioning regarding the Covina explosion.

…………

In Burbank, after an FBI agent showed the paperwork, Douglas Coster, accompanied by his lawyer and assistant, left the top floor suite of the Burbank Hotel. The three of them, plus a driver, got into an Escalade from the underground parking lot.

An FBI car led the way, with another car following behind, sandwiching the Escalade in between, and headed to the Los Angeles branch.

This was a legal, routine subpoena and the FBI could not take coercive action.

On the Escalade, the lawyer gave a series of precautions and reminded: "If you are not sure about the question, you don't have to answer it."

"I know." Douglas looked a little serious. Because the lawyer was his own, he directly said to his assistant: "Contact Tim again."

The assistant took out his cell phone and called Tim's cell phone number and emergency contact number, but neither of them could be connected.

Douglas no longer held out hope and said, "Send someone to check out the house on 20th Street in Santa Monica."

The assistant called again.

Not long after, the phone call came back.

After the assistant hung up, he said, "There was no one in the house Tim rented. They checked the refrigerator, food, and dust. No one had been there for at least two days. But the house was tidy and there were no signs of fighting or struggling."

Douglas raised his hand to stop him from continuing: "Don't think about anything else. Tim is missing."

The assistant also thought this was the most appropriate explanation: "Could it be that Tim was arrested by the FBI?"

Douglas shook his head: "Impossible, if he is caught, I will definitely get the news."

The second deputy director who has just been transferred to the FBI is their man and one of the senior executives of the Los Angeles branch. If there is an arrest operation, it will be impossible to hide it from him.

Douglas thought of a possibility: "Tim was found by Hawk Osmond and fell into Hawk Osmond's hands."

The lawyer said, "He found out. Why doesn't he contact the FBI?"

Douglas said, "We knew there was something wrong with Jennifer Huey, how could they not know there was something wrong with the new second deputy director?"

He tapped the armrest of the chair gently: "This acquisition plan is becoming more and more interesting."

The assistant asked, "Boss, do you want to let the people from Wyoming leave temporarily?"

"No, let him stay in the hotel safely." Douglas still did not give up the plan completely: "If we miss this opportunity, we will never have another chance to acquire Twitter."

He has a strong sense of responsibility: "Twitter is related to BlackRock's entire future plan."

The motorcade arrived at the Los Angeles branch and did not go to the front door where media reporters gathered, but went directly to the side door.

Douglas got out of the car and followed the two agents into the office building.

The assistant on the left was carrying his bag.

The lawyer on the right, wearing glasses, is thinking about the problem.

The group walked not far along the corridor when three people came over from the opposite corner.

Two men and one woman.

The woman was wearing an FBI uniform, one of the men was a handsome and elegant man, and the other was a stocky man with a thin face and looked ordinary.

Douglas had seen the profile of this man, Hawke Osment, the founder of Twitter.

Hawke had also seen Douglas's information, so his eyes naturally fell on him.

He is about 40 years old, dressed in a suit and tie, and has the temperament of a business elite.

Douglas kept observing with his eyes but kept moving, and soon discovered something somewhat unexpected.

The three people coming from the opposite side seemed to be centered around Hawk Osment.

Brian from the Ferguson family looks very imposing at first glance, but upon actual observation, he looks more like Hawk Osment's subordinate.

This isn’t like some poor kid from Wyoming.

Hawke had no interest in talking to Douglas. He glanced at him and walked forward.

Douglas paused and said, "Mr. Hawke Osmond."

Hearing this, Hawke paused and nodded slightly: "Mr. Douglas Coster."

Douglas is still trying: "Is Twitter interested in accepting BlackRock's investment? Emma Bateson has agreed with you to double the price."

What Hawke thought of was the exploded car and Edward lying in the hospital for observation.

He smiled and said, "As long as you are happy."

Brian had already recognized who the middle-aged man was and said, "There have been a lot of car accidents in Los Angeles recently."

Jennifer pulled him and said, "Let's go."

Hawke had moved forward.

Brian followed immediately, and when he got out of the door, he said, "You said I was Brian Crow's Mouth, I want to try it!"

Hawke patted him on the shoulder and said, "My friend, you finally understood that curses should be used on enemies." (End of this chapter)
