Chapter 24: For whom are the fireworks blooming?
Chapter 24: For whom are the fireworks blooming?
In just three minutes, Edward Connor drove a car to the delivery location, but did not see the buyer.
"This way." A man's voice was heard in the dark alley. The cell phone screen suddenly lit up, revealing a kind face.
Edward Connor's car turned into the alley and drove into the darkness.
He was not worried or afraid. The black people from Compton were the elves in the dark night.
"Luckily I'm brave, no one else would dare to deliver goods to you like this!" Edward got out of the car and opened the trunk: "The agreed goods and freight will be doubled. If you pay one dollar less, you can't even think of getting them!"
Hawke glanced at the other man's face, which was not bad, paid the freight, and came to the fire escape staircase and said, "Help me move it up there. Follow my instructions and I'll give you an extra $100."
Edward was alert: "What do you want to do? I tell you, fireworks are meant to be set off into the sky. If you set them off in the wrong place, people will die!"
Hawke pointed to the sky and said, "Follow my instructions."
Thinking of the $100, Edward picked up a box and walked over, reminding: "Don't mention this money to Britney. This is my personal income. If she knows that I have made extra money, she will definitely force me to take her daughter to the amusement park."
When Edward reached the top of the stairs, Hawke urged, "Hurry up, stop talking nonsense."
Edward, in his usual black style, was a bit chatty: "Men can't talk about speed, they need to be strong, and every move counts."
When they got to the top of the building, Hawke pointed to the highest platform, "You go there and put your stuff away. I'll let you put it away again."
Edward saw the camera Hawke had set up: "Wow, man, that's a pretty good camera you got. It could sell for thousands of dollars on the black market."
He was a Los Angeles native and immediately guessed, "Are you a reporter? What are you going to shoot? The hotel across the street? Which celebrity is fooling around in there?"
Hawke said, "Shut up and get to work."
Edward was busy with his mouth, but his hands and feet were not idle either. He carried the cardboard box to the top of the platform, arranged the fireworks, sat on the edge and looked at the hotel opposite. He took out a lighter and asked Hawke: "Are you a reporter? What do you want to shoot? Why don't you light it now?"
Hawke checked the time and casually replied, "When two people are doing things, will they be in the mood to enjoy the fireworks?"
"Yes!" Edward gave his own example: "I like to open the curtains and windows and enjoy the scenery outside while doing things."
He looked at Hawke, surprised: "You actually closed the curtains and the door? How old-fashioned, too outdated, too unromantic!"
Hawke sensed the other party's contempt from a certain commanding position and gave him a middle finger: "Shut up."
Edward shook his head: "You have to face the problem and look at the work you are doing now. If you don't face the problem, you will become a mentally abnormal person."
Hawke raised his telescope and vaguely saw a figure swaying on the curtain of Room 407. He quickly came behind the camera, observed carefully through the long lens, and waved to the back: "Let's set off now, two at a time."
"When I was in Compton, I often went to the police station, and I would come out quickly after entering." Edward took the lighter to light the fire, and continued: "You are different. You will be unlucky if you go in. Some perverts like strong guys like you the most."
He lit the fuses of two square fireworks.
With bang sounds, snake-shaped flames rushed into the sky, exploding into gorgeous fireworks.
At the hotel entrance, several doormen looked up at the sky and were attracted by the fireworks for a moment.
In the rooms facing the street, several guests opened the curtains to admire the sudden and beautiful fireworks.
But the curtains in Room 407, which Hawke was staring at, were still closed.
Those two guys come again?
Hawke yelled, "Don't stop, keep playing!"
The black people didn't have so many concerns and were even excited when they saw the flames. Edward shouted and continued to light the fireworks.
The sky was lit up and more and more windows in the hotel opened their curtains.
Hawke yelled again, "Keep going."
While lighting the fireworks, Edward shouted back, "Dude, hurry up and call the LAPD. None of us can escape. They really know how to empty the magazine."
Hawke found a counterattack: "That's for you, not for me."
For the first time, Edward was stumped by Hawke's words and was unable to refute.
More fireworks exploded in the sky, instantly attracting the attention of everyone nearby.
In room 407 of the hotel, Sarah Parker was also startled by the light and sound outside the window. She got up, opened the curtains, and saw a brilliant fireworks display.
After the intimacy, the couple was surrounded by romance. Sarah shouted excitedly: "Look, there are fireworks outside."
Donnie wrapped himself in a blanket, came to the window, and said, "What beautiful fireworks."
"Is this the surprise you gave me?" Sarah asked. Tang Ni thought, didn't I just give you the surprise worth several hundred million? But he didn't deny it and just said "hmm" casually.
Sarah rushed over and gave him a passionate kiss.
Donnie felt strangely stimulated and gave the most enthusiastic response.
On the fourth floor of the office building, Hawke was like a ruthless filming machine, constantly pressing the shutter to capture the couple in the window of Room 407.
He captured all the intimate interactions between the two of them.
Later, the excited Edward lit all the fireworks like a hardworking cotton worker.
The fireworks blooming in the sky lit up the night and also illuminated the roof of the office building.
Donny suddenly discovered that there was a person on the roof of the opposite building who seemed to be filming with a camera. He quickly drew the curtains, pushed Sarah to the window, lifted the curtains to take a peek, and found that the person was already preparing to retreat.
He cursed and said, "We might have been photographed by paparazzi!"
Sarah immediately realized the seriousness of the problem, picked up her phone and made a call: "Something happened. I'm dating someone and might be photographed by reporters. Damn it, if it was Bro, would I still need to call you? I'll notify the public relations department right away."
Donny also made a phone call. It was the same company that provided crisis public relations services to both of them.
On the other side, Hawke expertly removed the camera lens, stuffed it into his bag, picked up the tripod and sorted it out while running, while shouting to Edward, "Let's go!"
Edward was not slow either, following Hawke down the fire escape stairs.
The two went downstairs, and Hawke got into the Mondeo: "Follow me, and we'll meet outside this block."
Edward also jumped into his car, started the engine and followed Hawke, driving out of the alley and running towards another block.
There were no sirens or police lights behind us, and the LAPD officers were stretched thin and had no interest in the blooming fireworks.
Hawke turned into a multi-exit parking lot.
Edward was a good driver and quickly caught up and stopped next to the Mondeo.
Hawke took out a total of $100, took out a business card, and handed them over: "If something interesting happens around you, call me."
Edward checked the coin to see if it was real, put away the business card, and said with interest: "Dude, your job is really exciting, and you're so happy to pay. Can you make a lot of money?"
Hawke said vaguely: "It's hard-earned money, just to support my family."
Edward didn't believe it: "If you find such an easy job to make money again, call me."
When the other party drove away, Hawke suddenly remembered that he still had some money to pay.
He drove back to the hotel, dressed up again, and entered the hotel lobby.
Sure enough, Jacqueline was looking around in the rest area, as if looking for someone.
Hawke went over and handed her the money he had prepared in advance: "This is yours."
Jacqueline whispered, "Did you set off the fireworks just now?"
How could Hawke admit this? He asked, "What fireworks?"
Jacqueline was stunned.
Hawke took out a few more business cards and said, "You have a lot of sisters, right? Give these to them. If you come across anyone or anything valuable, call the numbers above."
He pointed to the US dollars in the other person's hand and said: "You see, I am very generous. Money is not a problem."
Jacqueline thought to herself, "I can't help you take photos of celebrities having sex with us. If it gets out, the agent won't let us go."
Hawke shook his head: "As long as you reveal a little information, you don't have to shoot anything."
Jacqueline collected the money and the business card.
Hawke returned to the car, away from the hotel, took out his cell phone and checked the contact information recorded during the day.
What I just photographed must be cashed in.
Only by choosing the right media can you sell at a high price.
