The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 47 Self-produced and sold
As we enter mid-April, the temperature in Los Angeles is gradually rising.
That day, Edward came back from outside, grabbed a bottle of ice cola, and drank half of it in one breath.
He pulled out a check from his bag, placed it in front of Hawke, and said, "The pictures I took last night only sold for $280. It's all here."
Hawke put the check away and continued to look through the personal information provided by Dwayne Johnson.
I was busy with Robert Downey Jr.'s affairs some time ago, so the movie and personal operations discussed with Johnson had to be postponed.
Fortunately, Johnson was busy running around for the crew's publicity notices. He flew all over North America during this period and only returned to Los Angeles yesterday.
Edward had nothing to do, so he fiddled with the camera, saying, "Boss, don't you feel like your work is lacking excitement lately?"
Hawke looked up and asked, "Love frustrated?"
"No." Edward was exhausted from following Hawke. After enjoying the exciting working method like bungee jumping, he really had no interest in squatting and taking pictures.
He licked his black lips and said, "Look, we did big things before, and the news we made was all headlines. If we do news like this that's worth one or two hundred dollars, I'll feel uncomfortable all over."
Hawke asked, "What's the progress with Deborah?"
Edward said, "She has been running Donnie's inheritance procedures recently. It's not appropriate for me to intervene at this time. The main thing is that I have dealt with the one I mentioned last time. She works at the shelter. I can't end it right after I start, right? That's too irresponsible!"
He had a thoughtful look on his face. "I've thought carefully about Deborah. Being widowed is not something I'm good at, so I need to plan it out carefully. I plan to make a detour from the side and open a breakthrough through her son. I've already found out that her son's name is Indio, and he studies at Brentwood School."
Hawke couldn't help but admire: "You are really a talent."
"Boss, hurry up and find some big news!" Edward was indeed a failure in his studies. He felt uncomfortable if he didn't do something for a day: "No, no, it's about producing big news."
Hawke closed Johnson's profile and said, "It will be there soon."
Edward exclaimed: "Now I understand that valuable news does not happen naturally, but is produced like we do."
Hawke took out his cell phone and dialed Johnson's number. After the call was connected, he said, "It's me, Hawke Osment. I saw on the news that you're back in Los Angeles."
Johnson remembered him and said, "I've been busy lately and haven't had time to ask you, have you made any progress on the matter I entrusted you with?"
"I have some ideas that I need to tell you first." Hawke asked, "Do you have time? Let's talk in person."
Johnson glanced at the schedule and said, "We'll meet at Tracy's gym this afternoon."
Hawke responded: "Sure."
After hanging up the phone, he thought about it and called Eric again.
Eric had hit a bottleneck in his scriptwriting and wanted to come out and relax.
In the afternoon, Hawke arrived at Tracy's gym on time.
He changed his clothes in the locker room and waited for a while before Johnson and Eric came over one after another.
Hawke grabbed a towel and said, "I'm going to go do some warm-up exercises and I'll meet you guys in the boxing area."
Johnson gave this side a thumbs up and went into his private dressing room.
Eric could only change his clothes in the common area.
The door of a private locker room opened at this time, and a burly white man walked out. There were not many people in the locker room at the moment. He saw Eric at a glance and then turned in direction unconsciously.
In his eyes, Eric's scraggly beard, gloomy eyes, weather-beaten face, and lips soaked in seafood exuded an artistic temperament.
The white man walked over quickly, put his hand on Eric's shoulder, and said, "Hey man, I haven't seen you before, are you new here?"
Eric took a step forward, dodged the man's hand, looked him over briefly, didn't recognize him, and asked, "Who are you?"
The white man laughed: "Miller Collins, wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers."
"An NFL star." Johnson just came out of the locker room and shook hands with the white man: "Dwayne Johnson, I haven't seen you before."
Miller gently shook Johnson's hand: "I just signed up for membership recently."
He glanced at Eric and said, "It's the off-season now. I bought a house in Santa Monica and will be living here temporarily. I can't relax during training."
Johnson smiled and said, "I'll go watch your game when I have time."
"Thank you." Miller said politely, turned around and walked out. Before leaving the locker room, he turned around and glanced at Johnson. There was a big bulge in his pants, which he didn't like.
The artistic little boy was still the best. He had just finished muttering to himself when his wife Maria came over and said, "You are too slow."
Miller went over and kissed his wife, then said, "I met Dwayne Johnson and had a few words."
"Your career won't last long. We moved to Los Angeles to plan for the future." Maria said as they walked, "You are a star player. While you are famous now, make more friends in Los Angeles to pave the way for the future."
Her face was filled with happiness: "Dorothy is growing up, and we want our daughter to integrate into the upper class society of Los Angeles."
Miller took the responsibility: "Don't worry, leave it to me. Have you forgotten that when Beckham came here last month, I used my relationship with him to get to know Tom Cruise." On the other side, Johnson and Eric came to the boxing area.
On the boxing ring, Hawk was sweating profusely and punching continuously, attacking the sparring partner on the opposite side.
After a while, he jumped to the ropes, asked someone to help him take off his gloves, and asked Eric: "Come up and fight?"
Eric pushed Johnson forward: "You fight him."
Hawke said, "I'm not in the same weight class as him."
Johnson waved his hand: "Go lift weights."
Hawk held open the ropes, came out and jumped off the ring, following the two men.
Eric returned to the topic he had just discussed with Johnson: "I don't know why, but I always feel that that person is not normal."
Johnson recalled, shaking his head: "No, I feel normal."
Eric couldn't figure it out: "That's weird."
Hawke asked curiously, "What are you talking about?"
Eric briefly explained what happened in the locker room and indicated with his eyes: "The handsome man and beautiful woman walking towards the spinning area, the man is the one I'm talking about."
Hawke took a quick look and found that he looked familiar. He soon remembered that he had seen this man at the Viper Bar.
The other party was drinking and chatting with Beckham at the time.
Johnson said, "Miller Collins, the star wide receiver of the San Diego Chargers."
Hawke gets it, rugby star.
The three of them went weightlifting together.
Eric soon ran out of energy and went to the rest area on his own.
Hawke and Johnson were sweating profusely. After completing their respective plans, they wiped their sweat and went into the rest area.
Eric was still panting: "I found that this place is not suitable for me."
Hawke suggested: "Let's find a place and practice rock climbing and shooting."
Eric couldn't help complaining: "You work in the media industry, you don't engage in armed robbery..."
Hawke reminded, "You've seen high-end business battles in Park City. How can you win without a good body?"
Eric thought of poor George, who couldn't show his movie without Hawke, so he gritted his teeth and said, "Okay, I'll continue next time."
Johnson was curious: "What high-end business war?"
Eric briefly explained.
Johnson looked thoughtful and said, "Earlier this month, a crew held a preview in a small town in New Jersey. Suddenly, there was a power outage. After investigation, it was speculated that it might be a commercial competitor of the crew's investor who destroyed the circuit of that small town."
Eric denounced: "George, that bastard, opened Pandora's box!"
Hawke took a sip of electrolyte water and spit it into the trash can next to him without saying a word.
Johnson gave Hawke a thumbs up and said, "Man, you know how to operate a movie and how to guard against competitors. That's great!"
Hawke thought to himself, all of this is produced and sold by me.
He turned to the main topic and said to Johnson: "I thought about the last incident for a long time and came up with a preliminary plan."
Influenced by Eric and Katherine, Johnson felt that Hawke had outstanding abilities: “Great!”
Hawke briefly explained, "It will take me some time to work out the details, but we both need to sign an agreement."
"I asked Dani to come over. She's my wife and agent." Johnson specifically asked the agency to contact Bedo Blount, the director and producer of "The Invasion."
He, like Eric and Catherine, had nothing but praise for Hawke.
Half an hour later, Johnson's wife and agent Dany Garcia arrived.
Eric took his leave.
Johnson asked for a separate lounge and the two sides talked in detail for a while.
Afterwards, both parties went to Johnson's agency and signed a cooperation agreement.
