The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 675 Forced Summons

"Could you give me a moment to explain?"

Anxious and impatient, President Dong stood in Pence's office and earnestly said, "World One Tower is indeed a good project. I'm recommending the properties in the project so that everyone can make money together..."

Pence tossed a newspaper to Dong: "Take a look, where is the building?"

Mr. Dong did not take the newspaper, letting it fall to his feet.

He had already seen the news; those idiots in the Indian military actually blew up a 60-plus-story building under the pretext of endangering national security.

Don't they care about the international repercussions?
Are Indians serious about such a ridiculous reason?

It was only now that Mr. Dong realized just how unreliable the Indians, whom the American media called Asia's number one, really were.

Pence said coldly, "I still have work to do..."

Mr. Dong quickly interrupted him: "Listen to me, this matter is not as simple as it seems on the surface. The mastermind behind it all is Hawke Osment; he is the one who orchestrated it all."

Pence sneered: "Are you going to bring up Tom Emmer next?"

Mr. Dong was indeed going to say that, but upon hearing Pence's words, he immediately fell silent.

Because there is no evidence, it has no persuasive power.

Pence appeared calm: "This is not your fault, it's just that I was blind to believe your nonsense."

He pressed the intercom to let his assistant in, and said to President Dong, "Tang, that's enough. We all know what's going on. If your investment has problems, you have to face them. Go back and think about how to solve them."

The assistant gestured for them to proceed.

Mr. Dong entered the office half an hour ago and has already said a lot, but no one believes him, and there's nothing he can do but maintain his dignity.

Ultimately, his clownish behavior of going back on his word over the years has seriously damaged his credibility.

A few minutes after Dong left, another core leader of the New Tea Party, Palin, entered Pence's office from the adjacent lounge.

The latter briefly described his meeting with Dong Zong and asked Palin, "How credible do you think his words are?"

Perrin was straightforward: "Whether it is credible or not is not the key issue. The real problem is that Mr. Dong has seriously damaged our interests and is now embroiled in trouble. He can no longer bring us any benefits and may even drag us down."

He thought for a moment and then said, "I have received information from Washington that an operation against Dong Zong has begun. This could very well turn into a feast of sharing the spoils. How can we be absent? He has a net worth of hundreds of millions."

Pence had a similar thought and couldn't help but laugh: "The Los Angeles Group is leading the charge, all we need to do is cheer them on."

The two of them let out a knowing laugh.

On the other side, Mr. Dong had just returned to the Dong Building and had not yet entered his office when his security assistant, McKindy, quickly came to greet him.

He said, "Boss, there's another problem."

President Dong frowned deeply: "What is it now?"

McKendi didn't know what to say, so he followed President Dong into the office, took out the tablet he had brought, opened it, and handed it over: "San Valley actress Denise Stormi posted a video and pictures on Twitter, claiming that she was assaulted."

Upon hearing the name, Mr. Dong quickly looked at his tablet.

Because he remembered this woman; he had sought her out several times in the past, and they had played many explicit games together.

Mr. Dong first saw the title of the tweet.

"Today, I decided to confront the darkest experience of my life. With the support of my friends, I reported to the FBI that I had been raped by Mr. Dong."

The tweet was followed by an online poster of Dong Zong running for president.

"Words are no proof; this is the evidence."

In the nine pictures, Denise is handcuffed, and although her vital parts are blurred, her shocking injuries are still visible.

Standing next to her, the chubby blond man, who else could it be but President Dong?
Below that is a short video, clearly taken by a surveillance camera, which is related to those nine pictures.

Among them, General Manager Dong, with a sinister grin on his face, pounced on the attacker, holding the murder weapon in his hand.

Mr. Dong's face was quite ugly. These shoddy goods from Sheng Gu have no professional ethics whatsoever!

He was quite angry, but even more so, he was heartbroken.

For a fleeting moment, Mr. Dong's body trembled uncontrollably.

Because he thought of Shilalyne, Argentine billionaire Lopez, and the two founders of BlackRock…

They are all dead.

These people have one thing in common: they all stand on the opposite side of Hawke Osment.

Seeing the news topping the Twitter trending list, Mr. Dong finally regretted it; he should have been better prepared.

He looked at McKindy and said quickly, "Go contact Danielle. Don't be afraid to spend money, as long as you can shut her up and get her to back out..."

A knock on the door suddenly interrupted President Dong's words.

Mr. Dong said, "Come in."

The assistant opened the door and came in, followed by a group of men wearing FBI field jackets.

The leader presented the relevant subpoena and case file, saying, "Mr. Dong, you are suspected of a rape case and need to come with us to Los Angeles."

Mr. Dong took it.

Before he could speak, the senior FBI agent produced another subpoena and case file, continuing, "We received a report that you are suspected of raping a girl on St. James' Island..."

Mr. Dong himself had forgotten about the St. James Island incident; after falling out with Sylvia and Richardson, he had long since put it out of his mind.

Mr. Dong carefully examined the summons in his hand and said, "I need to notify my lawyer."

The senior agent said, "That's your legal right."

Mr. Dong called the lawyer.

The senior agent urged, "Come with us. Please cooperate and don't make us take action."

“You shouldn’t do this.” Mr. Dong still wanted to save face: “To suppress political enemies, you’re willing to fabricate…”

The senior agent made a gesture.

The general election has not yet begun, and Dong Zong has only announced its participation in the internal election of the Elephant Party. It has not yet become a real candidate, so those disclaimers cannot be used.

It looked like the FBI agents were about to take action.

Mr. Dong tightened his coat and said, "Lead the way."

Several FBI agents surrounded Mr. Dong and walked towards the elevator.

A door to a nearby room opened, and Melanie suddenly ran out, her face full of shock: "What happened? What's going on?"

An FBI agent stopped her.

“Tell Inee to take good care of the company,” Mr. Dong said, turning to McKindy and Melanie. “I’ll be back soon.”

The group entered the elevator. Melanie looked at McKindy: "What exactly happened?"

Unable to hide the truth any longer, McKindy recounted the events in detail.

Melanie turned and went into President Dong's office, picked up the tablet and started looking at it. When she saw the pictures and videos, her face first turned red with anger, and she smashed the tablet on the floor.

Then she calmed down and began to think carefully.

As a former Vanity Fair model, Melanie wasn't thinking about how her husband and she could weather the storm together; instead, she was concerned with how to protect her own and her child's interests.

Mr. Dong has two ex-wives and five children, the first four of whom were not born to Melanie.

If Mr. Dong cannot get past this hurdle, Melanie will inevitably have to protect her own interests.

Her gaze suddenly fell on the man in the office, McKindy, who had been Dong Zong's security assistant for the past few years.

The other party controls the real armed forces under President Dong's command...

Melanie slowly approached McKendy: "I have something to discuss with you in detail. It concerns Tang's matter, and I need your help in handling it."

McKendi said, "I will do my best."

Melanie used her financial power: "You are the person Tang trusts the most. As long as you help us get through this crisis, I will definitely reward you handsomely."

What could McKindy say but agree for now?

When Mr. Dong came out of the building, there were already hundreds of reporters and paparazzi gathered at the entrance.

It's obvious that someone deliberately leaked the information.

Reporters and paparazzi set up cameras and video recorders, frantically taking pictures of the FBI and Mr. Dong.

Some people even asked probing questions.

"Mr. Dong, could you tell me about the process of you forcing Denise Stormi?"

Are you mentally disturbed?

"Do you think a potential rapist is fit to be president?"

"Tang, you have opened a new chapter in American history!"

Without saying a word, Mr. Dong climbed into a Chevrolet SUV, following the path cleared by the FBI agents.

The FBI agents got into their cars and drove Mr. Dong straight to the airport.

A well-informed reporter put down his camera, looked up at the towering Tung Group building, and said, "I feel like he's going to be in a lot of trouble this time. The Tung Group might even fall apart."

Another person chimed in, "You mean the World One building in India? The building that the Dong Group invested in threatened India's national security and was blown up by the Indian military. The video is all over Twitter."

A reporter with a New York Times tag around his neck couldn't help but gloat: "Mr. Dong overestimated himself. A clown in the business world wanted to run for president? Now he's paying the price."

People like to kick someone when they're down.

The other reporters around burst into laughter.

Mr. Dong was regarded by these media reporters as a typical example of overestimating his own abilities.

The situation in New York was reported to Los Angeles immediately.

Hawke also saw the videos and pictures from the scene. Dong Zong's financial resources and connections were far inferior to those during his previous life when he was running for president.

His emergence even led to a significant change in the social landscape of the United States, and consequently, the influence of the Tea Party diminished.

Now that Mr. Dong and his family are facing a serious crisis, how could those capital hyenas scattered throughout North America possibly miss the opportunity to share in Mr. Dong's family assets?

Moreover, Twitter will be at the forefront.

In other words, Mr. Dong and his family have fallen to the cutoff line for American billionaires.

The American middle class is the group most targeted, but the wealthy are not safe either.

Like a powerful family in ancient times, once it shows signs of decline, it will be devoured by a pack of hungry wolves.

Of course, the highest percentage of those killed were entertainment stars and sports stars.

Twitter's big data analysis over the past few years has shown that over 70% of male movie and television stars who experience a decline in their careers will get divorced, and the proportion is even higher for retired sports stars.

These people will have most of their fixed assets and cash flow taken away, and since they are too close to their peak years and income peak, alimony after divorce is often calculated based on their peak income, and the final result is predictable.

Around noon, Hawke received a message from Campos: the mole planted next to President Dong had sent back some information.

Those close to Mr. Dong had some ideas after they realized he was facing a crisis.

The so-called "cut-off line" for the wealthy also exists.

For example, marriage.

It's not a problem under normal circumstances, but it can become a knife when a crisis occurs.

Since Hawke had already taken action against President Dong and knew his character, how could he possibly show any mercy? He directly instructed, "Tell him to go all out and completely dismantle the Dong family, causing them to fall apart and become enemies."

In the afternoon, Hawke and Erica met with Jennifer at the Beverly Business Club.

The latter said directly: "The girl who was forced by Mr. Dong on St. James Island back then has arrived in Los Angeles. I met with her, and she was willing to come forward to testify against Mr. Dong. She also revealed another important fact: Mr. Dong went to the island as many times as Richardson and Joseph."

She picked up her teacup, took a sip, and continued, "My people are looking for more victims."

Based on Hawke's understanding of American billionaires, it's unlikely that Mr. Dong's trip to St. James' Island was merely for sightseeing.

He asked curiously, "Did Epstein mention anything about the matter between Mr. Dong and Richardson?"

Jennifer looked slightly surprised: "What could possibly be going on between these two?"

The next second, it dawned on her: "Could it be?"

Hawke shrugged: "The Epsteins are under your control. You can go ask them."

Erica coughed lightly, reminding her, "We've gone off-topic."

Jennifer got back to the main point: "The evidence we have so far is enough for the FBI to take action against Mr. Dong. Once he arrives in Los Angeles, I will detain him for the maximum period of time. We have already applied for the necessary procedures with the federal prosecutor's office. Even if Mr. Dong is released on bail, he will not be able to leave Los Angeles."

Hawke said, "I've mobilized people to sow discord among the Dong family members. The longer Mr. Dong stays in Los Angeles, the better it will be for us to completely dismantle the Dong family."

Erica agreed with Hawke's approach: "Once we've started, we should make sure they have no chance to fight back."

Jennifer agreed: "This person has one face on the surface, but another on the inside; he's definitely a menace."

She smiled sinisterly: "The World One Tower project has ruined many people, especially some Hollywood stars, who may fall into financial crisis because of it. These people must hate President Dong terribly."

Hawke and Erica didn't say much. After all, President Dong had harmed so many people, so it was normal for him to be hated.

Jennifer said, "Many people are now preparing to sue Mr. Dong to obtain civil damages, but Mr. Dong set up a separate financial accounting company for the World One Tower project, and the investment funds were also in the form of corporate commercial loans. Perhaps these are not a problem for banks and political figures, but they will be very troublesome for many middle- and high-income people and celebrities."

Hawke said, "You can take a good look at the list of clients who bought Mr. Dong's properties." (End of Chapter)
