After Tang Sanzang was captured by the Golden Cicada King and taken back to his cave, the Five Directions Protectors on duty that day immediately went down to rescue him.

Unexpectedly, this triggered the Golden Cicada King's secret plan. A burst of cicada chirping echoed throughout the cave, instantly exposing the Five Directions Protectors' whereabouts.

King Golden Cicada walked in from outside, carrying an eight-treasure glass bottle. "Who dares to trespass into my cave, King Golden Cicada?"

When the Golden Cicada King entered, the Five Protectors, realizing their scheme had been exposed, each drew their weapons and attacked the Golden Cicada King.

King Jin Chan didn't say much, only 'Well done!' before activating the Eight Treasures Glazed Bottle and launching it.

The Eight Treasures Glazed Bottle flashed with light, then its immense power crashed down, instantly killing the Five Directions Protectors, whose souls returned to the underworld in the blink of an eye.

Upon seeing the Five Directions Protectors dead, Tang Sanzang immediately rose, clasped his hands together, and chanted "Amitabha." He then addressed the Golden Cicada King, saying, "Demon, how can you still not repent? Now you have killed a god; you will surely suffer divine retribution in the future."

King Jinchan said, "They trespassed into my cave and deserve to die. Why haven't you copied the scriptures yet?"

Tang Sanzang said, "You killed my disciple and harmed the gods, how can I copy scriptures for you?"

King Golden Cicada said, "I think you've never suffered before!"

As he spoke, the Golden Cicada King stepped forward, grabbed Tang Sanzang, found an ant nest, threw Tang Sanzang inside, and said, "I'll let you taste the pain of being devoured by ten thousand ants."

Tang Sanzang landed in the ant nest, looking at the dense swarm of ants all around him, and hearing a rustling sound in his ears, he felt a chill run down his spine.

He was about to take a step when he saw ants everywhere, so Tang Sanzang stopped moving and instead put his hands together in prayer to enter a meditative state.

Soon, ants crawled all over Tang Sanzang's body. Every inch of Tang Sanzang's skin was constantly being crawled over and bitten by ants.

But Tang Sanzang remained unmoved, trembling all over and drenched in sweat, without budging an inch, and chanting scriptures at an extremely fast pace.

Seeing this, King Golden Cicada was moved and said, "Truly a high monk, let's see how long you can last!"

After saying this, the Golden Cicada King used his magic to seal the entrance to the ant nest and turned back to his own cave.

Meanwhile, the Five Directions Protectors died and their souls returned to the underworld. The Four Duty Officers immediately discovered this anomaly and reported it to the Divine Thunder Jade Palace.

However, the Divine Thunder Jade Palace did not respond, but simply ordered the Four Duty Officers to continue monitoring the mortal realm.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Continent, at the Eastern Peak Divine Palace, the Eastern Peak Emperor sat high on the Purple Cloud Hall. After listening to the complaints from the White Dragon and Sandy, he instructed the person beside him, "Go and invite the Jade Palace Minister over."

"Yes," the fairy boy replied, then turned and walked out of the Purple Cloud Palace.

The Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak reassured the White Dragon and Sha Wujing, "Don't worry, I will have the Jade Palace Minister handle this matter."

The White Dragon and Sandy frowned. Who was the Jade Palace Minister? Could he possibly control the Xuan Sect?

But when they saw the Fire Spirit Immortal enter the Purple Cloud Palace, they instantly understood.

"Your subject, the High Minister of the Jade Palace, the True Immortal Huo Ling, pays respects to Your Majesty." The True Immortal Huo Ling bowed to the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak.

The White Dragon and Sandy exchanged a glance and immediately breathed a sigh of relief. It turned out to be the Fire Spirit Immortal, so there was definitely no problem with this matter.

The Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak pointed at the White Dragon and Sha Wujing and said, "Minister Yu, someone here has filed a complaint against the Xuan Sect. You shall handle this matter."

Upon hearing this, True Immortal Huo Ling immediately turned to look at the two of them, and then laughed, "So it's you? You want to sue the Xuan Sect?"

The White Dragon and Sandy bowed to each other and said, "Yes, we want to accuse the Xuanjiao of mismanagement, which has caused the acquired treasure to fall into the human world, harming human cultivators and causing havoc in the mountains and forests."

Then the White Dragon and Sha Wujing gave their detailed account, and after listening, the Fire Spirit Immortal said, "Alright, I understand what you have reported."

After speaking, the Fire Spirit Immortal asked the two, "Will you come with me, or return to the Underworld to await news?"

Upon hearing this, the White Dragon immediately said, "I will go with the Minister so that we can have a witness to verify this."

Sha Wujing said, "I will also go with the Minister."

Fire Spirit Immortal nodded and said, "Then you should first stabilize your divine souls in the Divine Palace. After three days, you will come with me to Xiniu Hezhou."

"Huh?" The little white dragon asked in surprise, "Lord Fire Spirit, aren't you going to the Xuan Sect?"

Fire Spirit Immortal laughed and said, "Let's go to Xiniu Hezhou first to subdue that monster and take that treasure, then it won't be too late to go to Xuanjiao."

The White Dragon and Sandy suddenly realized and immediately replied, "Then we will listen to Minister Fire Spirit."

Fire Spirit Immortal smiled and nodded, then cupped his hands to the Eastern Peak Emperor and said, "Your Majesty, I shall take my leave now."

The Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak nodded and smiled, "Good."

Then, the Fire Spirit Immortal took the White Dragon and Sha Wujing away, first arranging for them to stay in a secluded dwelling to stabilize their souls, and then went about his own business. At the same moment that the White Dragon and Sha Wujing arrived at Mount Tai to file their complaint, the Divine Thunder Jade Palace finally forwarded the report from the Four Duty Officers to Mount Ling.

Furthermore, the Dragon Girl holding the pearl on Luojia Mountain in the South China Sea, seeing that Guanyin Bodhisattva had not responded for a long time, also reported the matter to Lingshan.

This month, the Buddha on duty at Lingshan Temple is 'Amitabha Buddha', and all the Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Venerables, Sangharama, and Vajra are reciting the Dharma at the Great Amitabha Temple.

When Amitabha Buddha received the report from the Divine Thunder Jade Palace and the report from the Dragon Girl Holding the Pearl, he said to everyone in the hall: "Tang Sanzang encountered danger in the Dry Stream Mountain. His disciples, Little White Dragon, Pigsy, and Sandy, have all perished and their souls have returned to the underworld."

Upon hearing this, all the saints present were greatly surprised. Bodhisattva Akasagarbha asked, "What about the Great Sage Equal to Heaven?"

Amitabha Buddha said, "First, Tang Sanzang's mount, the Purple Dragon Horse, was robbed. Wukong took it to the Heavenly Palace's Imperial Horse Stable for treatment. Later, Wukong went to the Tushita Palace, drank Laozi's elixir wine, and fell into a drunken stupor. He has not woken up since."

Upon hearing this, the bodhisattvas exchanged bewildered glances.

At this moment, Amitabha Buddha raised his hand and waved it again. Instantly, a flash of Buddha light appeared in the hall, and a mirror screen immediately appeared above the hall.

Everyone looked up and saw a monster appear in the mirror screen; it was none other than the Golden Cicada King.

The scene in the mirror screen was King Jin Chan killing the three White Dragon brothers, as well as Huian Xingzhe and the Five Directions Jiedi.

After everyone had looked at it, the Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta keenly remarked, "That glass bottle seems familiar."

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said, "When the Xuanjiao entered the world and there was a battle of magic in Dongsheng Shenzhou, this glass bottle appeared in the hands of Tongtian Daojun."

Upon hearing that Samantabhadra Bodhisattva had revealed the origin of the glass bottle, Duobao Bodhisattva immediately added, "Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is right. This glass bottle is indeed the 'Eight Treasures Glass Bottle' in the hands of Tongtian Daojun."

"A supreme treasure!" Everyone in the hall was astonished.

Bodhisattva Lingji said, "Such magical treasures are far beyond what the pilgrims can handle. Now that Sun Wukong is unconscious, the ordinary gods in the mortal realm simply cannot deal with them."

The Bodhisattva Akasagarbha asked, "Does the Xuanjiao sect also intend to obstruct the journey to the West?"

Upon hearing this, the hall fell silent instantly. If what Bodhisattva Akasagarbha said was true, then things could get complicated.

The Buddhist sect is now gradually reducing its power, which is why it has been able to block the Brahmanical sect from interfering with the journey to the West. If the Xuanxue sect were to intervene again, it would be very troublesome.

But Manjushri Bodhisattva said, "Impossible. The Xuanjiao sect is now firmly established in Dongsheng Shenzhou. There is no reason for them to interfere in the affairs of Xiniu Hezhou."

The Bodhisattva Akasagarbha looked at the Bodhisattva Manjushri: "What does Venerable Manjushri mean?"

Manjushri Bodhisattva said, "If the Xuanjiao sect really wanted to stop the journey to the West, then there was no need to send only one acquired treasure and give it to a little demon."

At this point, Manjushri Bodhisattva asked, "Have the tribulations arranged by Avalokiteshvara been completed?"

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said, "Only Avalokiteshvara himself knows the answer to this."

Manjushri Bodhisattva then asked, "Where has the Venerable Avalokiteshvara gone now?"

Amitabha Buddha said, "The Venerable Guanyin has gone to the Boundless Sea to cultivate the Dao and travel, and it is difficult to contact her. She will not be able to return for some time."

Manjushri Bodhisattva said, "This is just my guess. It may be a tribulation on the journey to obtain the scriptures, not that the Xuanjiao wants to stop the journey."

"As for the truth, only Guanyin, who is in charge of this matter, knows. Since she was able to go to the Boundless Sea to cultivate the Dao and travel, she must have already arranged everything," said Manjushri Bodhisattva.

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said, "But the Xuan Sect has recently become hostile to our Buddhist sect. This humble monk really can't figure out why they would help our Buddhist sect to create tribulations on the journey to obtain the scriptures."

The Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta waved his hand and said, "Let's not think about these things for now. Whether the Xuanjiao sect is deliberately obstructing us or helping us to bring about this calamity, the most important thing right now is to help Tang Sanzang overcome this difficulty."

Upon hearing Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva's words, all the Bodhisattvas nodded and said, "The Venerable Mahasthamaprapta is right."

Amitabha Buddha nodded slightly, then asked the crowd, "Now all the Bodhisattvas of Mount Ling have important matters to attend to, and need to resist the invasion of the Buddha, Mara, and the Brahmanical religion. Who can be sent down to the mortal realm to subdue the demons and help Tang Sanzang overcome this calamity?"

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at each other, unsure of who to send.

At this moment, Bodhisattva Cundi took the initiative to stand up and said, "Reporting to the World Honored One, I am willing to lead a few people down to the mortal realm to subdue demons. We do not need Bodhisattvas, Arhats, or Vajra Guardians."

All the Bodhisattvas immediately turned their gazes toward Cundi Bodhisattva, and Amitabha Buddha even asked with a smile, "Who are you referring to?"

Bodhisattva Zhunti said, “The four who were subdued at Lion Camel Ridge—the Green Lion, the White Elephant, the Roc, and the Yellow-Eyebrowed Boy under Maitreya Buddha—all possess remarkable abilities. They can accompany me to subdue the Golden Cicada King, so that they may atone for their sins and perform meritorious service.”

Upon hearing this, Amitabha Buddha smiled broadly and nodded, saying, "Excellent, excellent." After speaking, Amitabha Buddha issued a decree, saying, "Please, Venerable Zhunti, take this decree and go to dispatch the Green Lion, White Elephant, Roc, and Yellow-Eyebrowed Boy to descend to the mortal realm to subdue the demon and help Tang Sanzang overcome his tribulations."

The Bodhisattva Cundi stepped forward, reached out to receive the Buddha's decree from Amitabha Buddha, and then bowed and said, "I will respectfully obey the Buddha's decree."

Afterwards, Bodhisattva Cundi left the Great Amitabha Temple and went to Maitreya Buddha to summon the Yellow-Eyebrowed Boy. She then went to the Great Thunderclap Temple and various Bodhisattva temples to summon the three demons: the Green Lion, the White Elephant, and the Roc. She then led them out of Mount Ling and headed straight for the Golden Cicada King's cave on Mount Kuliu. (End of Chapter)
