I am a fairy in Journey to the West
Chapter 509 'Clavicle Bodhisattva'
After the Seven Fairy Maidens descended to the mortal realm, they landed in Chixian Mountain in Guiming Prefecture. It took them several months to establish themselves and create a cave for immortals, where they waited for the pilgrims to arrive.
Compared to their initial bewilderment upon descending to the mortal realm, the seven fairies, after a few months of carefree living, have become much more cheerful and lively.
Human life is indeed more fun, and since they were ordered to come down as 'demons' to bring tribulations to the pilgrims, they were basically not subject to any control.
So these past few months of carefree life have made the Seven Fairies very happy. No wonder there were so many gods and immortals in heaven who descended to earth to become demons. Life on earth is indeed different from that in heaven, with its own unique flavor.
On this day, the seven fairies, each dressed in a plain gauze dress and wearing a flower wreath, were playing and frolicking in a clear pool in Chixian Mountain.
Suddenly, a dragonfly demon with transparent wings flew down to the water's edge and called out to the seven fairies, "Seven fairy maidens, someone from outside the mountain has arrived and requests an audience with you."
Upon hearing this, the seven fairies were first taken aback, then immediately tensed up, "Is it the pilgrims on their journey to the West?"
The dragonfly demon said, "It's not the pilgrims. The fairies said the pilgrims were five monks, but the person who came was just a woman, oh, and it seems she's a ghost."
"Oh?" All the fairies were surprised and gathered around Fairy Hongluo, asking, "Eldest sister, what's going on?"
The Crimson Fairy was also somewhat puzzled, but after a moment she said, "I don't know either, let's go and take a look first."
"Okay." Everyone responded, then went ashore, dressed, and tied their hair up before returning to the Immortal Cave together.
Back in the cave, Fairy Hongluo had the female ghost brought in.
When the Seven Fairies saw the female ghost, they were greatly surprised, for the female ghost was very young but extremely beautiful.
As soon as the female ghost entered and saw the Seven Fairies, she immediately knelt down and kowtowed repeatedly, saying, "This humble woman, Jiang Yuxian, pays her respects to the Seven Fairy Maidens."
The Crimson Fairy asked, "What brings you here?"
Jiang Yuxian kowtowed and said, "I was wronged and killed. I beg you fair maidens to redress my grievances."
The seven fairies were astonished upon hearing this. They had heard many stories of other gods in heaven speaking out for the people, especially the great Taiyi Tianzun, whose "Record of Saving People from Suffering" contained countless such stories.
The fairies in the heavens loved these stories the most. They lived in the heavenly palace, doing the same things every day and leading an extremely regular life. They were full of all sorts of imaginations about the human world.
They never expected that just a few months later, they would actually encounter such a thing.
The seven fairies immediately perked up and began asking Jiang Yuxian what grievance she had suffered.
Jiang Yuxian then tearfully accused, "Because I am beautiful, one day the Prefect of Guiming Prefecture saw me on the street and wanted to take me as his concubine, but I refused to comply. The Prefect then ordered his men to tie me up at night and take me to Wanfu Temple. Later, he even tried to rape me. In the chaos, I stabbed his left eye with my hairpin. In pain and rage, he smashed me to death, and my bones were buried under the stone mill in the east courtyard of Wanfu Temple."
Upon hearing this, the seven fairies were all furious. The fairy in white exclaimed, "I never imagined that such a wicked thing could happen in the sacred land of Buddha!"
The Crimson Fairy wasn't too agitated. Instead, she asked Jiang Yuxian, "Then how did your soul find its way here?"
Jiang Yuxian said, "It was an old monk from Wanfu Temple who took pity on me and gave me a talisman, which allowed my soul to leave Wanfu Temple and come here to seek help from the seven fairy maidens."
At this point, Jiang Yuxian kowtowed again: "I beg the seven fairy maidens to redress my grievances and clear my name. In my next life, I will serve as your ox or horse to repay your kindness."
Upon hearing this, the six fairies readily agreed, except for Fairy Hongluo, who remained somewhat hesitant.
At this moment, the six fairies advised, "Eldest sister, the pilgrim will be here for some time. Why don't we take this opportunity to help this sister clear her name and do a good deed?"
"Yes, sister, this is a good deed."
"Sister, they've come to us for help. If we just sit idly by, is that the way to do good?"
After much persuasion from everyone, Fairy Hongluo finally made up her mind and nodded, saying, "Jiang Yuxian, we will help you seek justice and clear your name."
Jiang Yuxian was overjoyed upon hearing this and kowtowed repeatedly in gratitude.
At this moment, Fairy Hongluo stood up, pulled out a jade hairpin from her hair, and said, "Jiang Yuxian, come and rest on my jade hairpin, then take us to Wanfu Temple to find your remains first."
Jiang Yuxian responded, and then transformed into a ray of light and flew to the jade hairpin, possessing it.
The Red Silk Fairy put the jade hairpin back into her hair, then led the Six Fairies out of the cave and, guided by Jiang Yuxian, went all the way to the prefecture of Guiming Prefecture.
Upon arriving at the prefecture, the Seven Fairies disguised themselves as ordinary women and went straight to Wanfu Temple.
Wanfu Temple is the largest temple in the entire Guiming Prefecture. Officials and nobles often come here to pray for blessings, so it is always crowded with people.
Looking at the magnificent and solemn Wanfu Temple before them, the seven fairies could hardly imagine that it was a place where filth and depravity were hidden.
Especially the monks, each one solemn and dignified, with kind and benevolent faces, did not at all seem like evil monks who aided and abetted evil.
A hint of doubt arose in the hearts of the seven fairies. The Red Silk Fairy glanced at the other six women before stepping into the gate of Wanfu Temple.
As soon as the seven fairies entered, two monks greeted them, "Are you ladies here to offer incense?"
The Red Silk Fairy said, "Let's offer incense first, then tour the temple."
The monk on the left smiled and said, "To offer incense, please walk straight inside. If you want to tour the temple, after offering incense, come out of the Mahavira Hall and turn left all the way to the left, and you can walk around the temple."
Fairy Hongluo clasped her hands together and said, "Thank you for your guidance, little master."
The monk put his hands together in prayer, chanted "Amitabha," then stepped back and said to the seven fairies, "Ladies, please make yourselves at home."
So the seven fairies walked straight ahead, passing through the Mountain Gate Hall and the Heavenly King Hall, and finally arrived at the Great Buddha Hall. Looking at the solemn Buddha statue inside, the seven fairies offered incense and worshipped with great piety.
Then the seven fairies left the main hall and followed the monk's instructions to go left.
At this moment, Jiang Yuxian's soul, which was attached to the jade hairpin, said in the ear of Fairy Hongluo: "Fairy, if you go east along this road, there will be a closed courtyard. That is where I am buried."
The Red Silk Fairy nodded, and then, without making a sound, she and the Six Fairies toured the temple while walking towards the East Courtyard.
When they arrived at the place, they indeed saw a closed courtyard. Jiang Yuxian's voice immediately became excited, "Fairy, she's inside."
"Let's go in and take a look." After Fairy Hongluo finished speaking, the Seven Fairies leaped into the courtyard.
As soon as the seven landed, they immediately sensed a heavy aura of resentment, and sure enough, there was a stone mill in the center of the courtyard.
The seven women immediately came to the stone mill. The fairy in black said, "I'll go." She then formed a hand seal and pointed at the stone mill.
In an instant, a flash of celestial light appeared, and the stone mill was immediately moved aside by the dark celestial light. Then, a rotten and broken female skeleton appeared before the Seven Fairies.
Despite being somewhat prepared, the Seven Fairies were still taken aback by what they saw.
"How could it be so cruel!" the fairy in black exclaimed in shock.
"I never imagined that Wanfo Temple, which appears so holy and dignified on the surface, would be such a sinful place that hides filth and evil in secret."
“It’s so tragic.”
Hearing the gasps of the crowd, Fairy Hongluo said, "Collect the remains first, then go to the temple abbot to demand an explanation."
So the fairy in white took out a brocade bag and put Jiang Yuxian's remains into it.
But before they could leave, the closed gate of the courtyard suddenly creaked open. The seven fairies froze on the spot, and when they turned around, they saw a middle-aged monk opening the gate and walking in.
Sixteen eyes met. The monk looked at the Seven Fairy Maidens, then at the moved millstone, and suddenly took two steps back, shouting, "Thief! Thief!"
Footsteps immediately echoed from all around, and the fairy in green drew a sword and lunged at the monk.
The monk reached out to block, but unexpectedly, the fairy in green's sword was a magical weapon, which severed his right arm with a 'whoosh'.
The monk screamed in agony as blood spurted out, spraying directly all over the fairy in green.
The fairy in green looked at the monk's severed arm and the sight of blood gushing out. She suddenly swayed, then rolled her eyes and fainted to the ground.
"Oh dear!" The purple-clad fairy quickly stepped forward and hugged the green-clad fairy, saying, "Sister Qingchi is afraid of blood."
At this moment, the monk, clutching his severed arm, retreated while saying to the approaching monks, "Grab them."
Seeing this, Hongluo stepped forward, raised her hand and threw out a red ribbon. The ribbon spun in mid-air and instantly sent more than a dozen monks flying.
Then Hong Luo turned to the crowd and said, "Let's go find the host."
After saying that, Hongluo took the lead and flew away in a red light. Everyone hurriedly followed, with only the Purple Fairy following behind the unconscious Green Fairy.
Soon, Hong Luo and his group burst into the main hall and asked the worshippers and monks, "Where is the abbot of this temple?"
After speaking, Hongluo formed a hand seal, and a gust of wind suddenly swept through the hall, sending all the worshippers who were offering incense outside.
Upon seeing this, the monks in the main hall couldn't help but change their expressions. Then, a fat monk stepped forward, pointed at Hong Luo, and said, "What kind of demon are you, daring to cause trouble at my Wanfu Temple?"
“Wanfu Temple? I think it’s Wan E Temple!” Hongluo said, and then released Jiang Yuxian’s soul from the hairpin.
As soon as Jiang Yuxian appeared, she saw the fat monk and immediately exclaimed, "It's him! He's the one who brought people to capture me here that night!"
The fat monk's expression changed drastically, his fat face twitched rapidly, and then his eyes hardened as he threw the Buddhist beads in his hand directly at Jiang Yuxian's soul.
"Evil monk, how dare you be so rude!" The white-robed fairy shouted, drawing a long sword from her sleeve. With a single slash, the string of prayer beads shattered into pieces on the ground with a loud crash.
Then the white-robed fairy kicked out, hitting the fat monk squarely in the chest. The fat monk groaned and flew backward, crashing into a pillar in the main hall.
Just then, a beam of Buddhist light suddenly descended from above, and Jiang Yuxian's soul showed signs of dissipating instantly.
The Red Silk Fairy hurriedly put Jiang Yuxian into her jade hairpin, and then summoned the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda, which distributed Xuanhuang light to cover herself and the other six fairies.
At that moment, a halo of Buddha descended from above, revealing a magnificent sapphire blue kasaya.
However, with the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda protecting them, the sapphire blue cassock was directly blasted away.
The next moment, a figure flew down onto the main hall. The monks inside the hall saw this figure and immediately bowed and said, "Greetings, Abbot."
The seven fairies looked up and saw a thin, kind-faced monk with white eyebrows and a long beard, looking every bit the high monk.
Then the monk put the sapphire blue kasaya back on, glanced at the pagoda above the Red Silk Fairy's head, and then put his hands together and said to the Seven Fairies, "This humble monk is Abbot Faxin of Wanfu Temple. May I ask where you fellow Daoists come from and why you are causing such a disturbance at my Wanfu Temple?"
Upon hearing this, Fairy Honglu snorted coldly and said, "Abbot Faxin, I never expected that your Wanfu Temple, which appears holy and solemn on the surface, is actually filthy and heinous inside."
Abbot Faxin frowned and asked, "What makes you say that, fellow Daoist?"
So the Red Fairy first released Jiang Yuxian's soul, and then took out Jiang Yuxian's remains from the White Fairy and displayed them in front of Abbot Faxin. "This woman was killed by the monks of your Wanfu Temple. Her remains were pressed under the stone mill in the east courtyard, and we only just took them out. I wonder what explanation Abbot Faxin has for this?"
Upon seeing Jiang Yuxian and her remains, Abbot Faxin's expression suddenly changed drastically. He quickly knelt down with his hands clasped together and bowed to Jiang Yuxian, saying, "Disciple Faxin pays respects to the Bodhisattva." "Ah?" Jiang Yuxian was stunned on the spot, while the Seven Fairies were even more astonished and at a loss for words.
But Jiang Yuxian quickly realized what was happening and stepped back, saying, "Abbot, you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm not some kind of bodhisattva."
Upon hearing this, the Seven Fairies were also jolted awake. The Red Silk Fairy questioned Faxin, "Abbot Faxin, what do you mean by this? Are you trying to fool us?"
Abbot Faxin remained kneeling on the ground, then said with a smile, "Fellow Daoists, you may not know this, but this woman is the reincarnation of the 'Locking Bone Bodhisattva' undergoing tribulations in the mortal world."
"What? The Collarbone Bodhisattva?" the fairy in black asked. "What is the Collarbone Bodhisattva?"
Not only did Fairy Moyi not know, but Fairy Hongluo and the others were also completely bewildered, clearly having never heard of this Bodhisattva.
Abbot Faxin said with a smile: "Fellow practitioners, do you not know the story of 'Bodhisattva of the Collarbone, who gave away her flesh'? This woman was the body of Bodhisattva of the Collarbone who entered the world to undergo tribulations. She was born to give away her flesh to all sentient beings, but unfortunately she failed to do so and died in the tribulation. That is why we buried her remains under the millstone."
Jiang Yuxian's soul simply could not accept such a statement, and she immediately pointed at Faxin and said, "He's talking nonsense!"
“What kind of Bodhisattva is there in the world? This is clearly something you fabricated to absolve yourselves of your sins,” said the fairy in green.
The fairy in yellow said, "That's right, I've never heard of any 'Bodhisattva with a collarbone,' you must have made this up."
The white-robed fairy said, "I've long heard that monks are eloquent and good at deceiving people, and seeing it today, I can confirm it's true."
Fairy Hongluo said, "Abbot Faxin, I now have some doubts. Is Wanfu Temple a Buddhist temple or a demon's den?"
Abbot Faxin smiled faintly and said, "If you fellow practitioners do not believe me, this humble monk can testify."
The Crimson Fairy asked, "How can you prove it?"
Abbot Faxin said, “This humble monk can use the incense and prayers of Wanfo Temple to reshape the golden body of the Collarbone Bodhisattva. You will know when the time comes. It is a pity that this action will definitely disrupt the Bodhisattva’s process of entering the world to undergo tribulations. However, for the sake of the reputation of this temple and Buddhism, this humble monk has no choice but to do so.”
After saying this, Abbot Faxin sat cross-legged on the spot and began chanting Buddhist scriptures. Accompanied by the sound of chanting, the Great Buddha Hall was filled with countless incense sticks and prayers flying out from the Buddha statue above the hall and landing on Jiang Yuxian's remains.
The next moment, Jiang Yuxian's bones suddenly shone with golden light. Then, the originally broken bones began to rapidly come together and were finally reshaped into a majestic and solemn Bodhisattva statue within the golden light. Moreover, the golden statue's face was exactly the same as Jiang Yuxian's.
At this moment, all the monks around knelt down and bowed, saying, "Greetings, Bodhisattva of the Collarbone."
Amidst the worship of the monks, the golden body of the Bodhisattva with the collarbone shone with Buddhist light, slowly rose up, flew out of the protective range of the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda, and landed on the altar.
Then Abbot Faxin bowed to Jiang Yuxian's spirit and said, "Please, Bodhisattva, return to your place."
The monks chanted in unison, "Please, Bodhisattva, return to your place."
The next moment, Jiang Yuxian was horrified to find that she could not control her soul. It instantly flew towards the golden body of the Bodhisattva of the Collarbone and then entered the space between the golden body's eyebrows.
Seeing this, Fairy Hongluo was also greatly surprised, because Jiang Yuxian's soul, under the protection of the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda, actually broke free of the protection and flew into the golden body.
Then there is only one possibility: Jiang Yuxian is truly the reincarnation of the Bodhisattva of the Collarbone.
Thinking of this, Fairy Hongluo immediately put away the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda, leaving only the Xuanhuang divine power to cover herself and the other six fairies.
At this moment, the seven fairies were speechless. Abbot Faxin then rose and lit an incense stick on the golden body of the Collarbone Bodhisattva, before turning back to look at Fairy Hongluo and asking, "Fellow Daoist, is it believable now?"
The Red Fairy looked a little embarrassed, then quickly cupped her hands and said, "This is a misunderstanding, please forgive me, Master."
At this moment, the monk whose arm had been severed by the green ruler was carried over by other monks. Seeing this, Fairy Hongluo and the others broke out in a cold sweat.
"Abbot, you must do justice for me! These vixens cut off my arm without a word!" the monk cried to Abbot Faxin.
Upon hearing this, Abbot Faxin immediately looked up at Fairy Hongluo and the others.
The Red Fairy immediately stepped forward to apologize, but Abbot Faxin shook his head and smiled, saying to the disciple, "This is your tribulation. What is destined to happen will happen, and what is not destined to happen will not happen."
After saying this, Abbot Faxin ordered someone to take the disciple away for treatment. Then he said to Fairy Hongluo and the others, "Fellow Daoists, now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, it is better to resolve enmity than to create it. Why don't you stay in the temple for a vegetarian meal?"
Upon hearing this, Fairy Hongluo quickly declined. She had already injured someone's disciple and disturbed the peace of the temple, so how could she feel at ease staying here to eat?
So, while politely declining, Fairy Hongluo said, "Please rest assured, Abbot, it was our fault today, and we will definitely come to apologize in person in the future! We will not shirk our responsibility for the arm of that fellow Daoist just now and for injuring the monk today."
As she spoke, Fairy Hongluo turned around and, together with the other female immortals, took out all the purple coins they had, totaling fifty thousand purple coins. They then handed them to Abbot Faxin, saying, "These are fifty-four thousand purple coins. Consider them compensation for our disturbance of the Buddhist holy site today, as well as for the injured monks. Please accept them, Abbot, otherwise we will feel uneasy."
Upon seeing this, Abbot Faxin did not refuse, but instead reached out and accepted it, saying, "Since you have said so, then this humble monk will accept it."
Fairy Hongluo breathed a sigh of relief and said, "That's how it should be."
Then, Fairy Hongluo took her leave, saying that she would leave it at that for today and would come to visit again in the future. After saying that, the Seventh Fairy left Wanfu Temple without looking back.
After leaving Wanfu Temple, the seven fairies remained silent on their way back to Chixian Mountain.
After an unknown amount of time, the fairy in green, who was afraid of blood, said anxiously, "Today I cut off a monk's arm in Buddhist territory and saw blood. I wonder how much merit I will lose?"
Upon hearing this, the Purple-Clad Fairy said, "We can only accept the deduction of merit. Besides, all seven of us are involved in this matter, so it won't be just your merit that's being deducted."
The fairy in yellow looked bewildered. "I never expected we would encounter such a strange thing. The Bodhisattva of the Collarbone... how come I've never heard of her before?"
The fairy in green said, "Perhaps this is the human world. The human world is indeed too complicated."
The white-clad fairy looked at the red-robed fairy and said, "Elder sister, what are you thinking about? Why aren't you saying anything?"
When Fairy Hongluo came to her senses, she frowned and said, "I can't say for sure, but I still feel that something is strange about this matter."
Upon hearing Fairy Hongluo's words, Fairy Moyi suddenly spoke up, "So I'm not the only one who thinks this way. I also find this matter very strange."
The white-robed fairy said, "But surely the golden body and Buddha-light of that Collarbone Bodhisattva aren't fake?"
Neither the Crimson Fairy nor the Black-Clad Fairy could give a clear answer to this.
Fairy Hongluo said helplessly, "I just hope I'm overthinking it, but this is really too strange."
The fairy in black said, "We should not interfere in human affairs. Human affairs are too complicated and beyond our control. We should just wait patiently for the pilgrims to arrive at Chixian Mountain and focus on fulfilling our own mission. We should not concern ourselves with anything else."
"Yes, that makes sense." Hearing the words of the fairy in black, everyone nodded in agreement.
However, something unusual happened that very night after the Seven Fairies returned to Chixian Mountain.
First was the fairy in green. While she was meditating in the cave, she suddenly felt a dark shadow appear before her eyes, wielding a knife and slashing down at her right arm.
The fairy in green cried out in surprise, but soon the Xuanhuang divine power on her body lit up slightly, and the black shadow was instantly illuminated and vanished.
At the same time, screams of surprise came from the other fairies in the adjacent cave. Then, the fairy in green came to her senses and rushed out.
When she came out, she found that Fairy Hongluo and the others were also in the hall, telling each other what they had just seen.
"Someone just lunged at me and tried to take off my clothes."
"I was tackled to the ground by that dark figure. If it weren't for that Xuanhuang Divine Power, I can't imagine what would have happened."
"I just saw an extremely terrifying demon, its blood-red maw wide open, about to devour me."
"What I saw was...something dirty and filthy."
After everyone recounted what had happened to them, the women fell silent.
After an unknown amount of time, the fairy in green cautiously asked, "Could it be that we offended a sacred Buddhist site and are therefore being punished?"
The women fell silent again. After a moment, Fairy Hongluo said, "This is more like a demon in one's heart."
The fairy in purple said, "That's it. We caused a great disturbance at the Buddhist holy site today and even witnessed bloodshed. We are bound to develop inner demons."
"What do we do now?" the green-clad fairy asked. "Are we really going to perish in the mortal realm this time?"
At this moment, a sobbing sound came from the side. Everyone turned their heads to look and saw that the fairy in yellow and the fairy in white were crying.
The atmosphere among the women became extremely tense at this moment. Fairy Hongluo immediately said, "Don't be afraid, everyone. We will work together to exorcise our inner demons in the next few days."
After saying that, Fairy Hongluo summoned the Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda and placed it on her head. Then she sat down cross-legged and said, "Everyone, please sit around me and enter meditation to expel your inner demons. I will use this Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda to protect you."
Hearing Fairy Hongluo's words, the women were relieved. Even the weeping Fairy in Yellow and Fairy in White wiped away their tears and sat down.
Then, Fairy Hongluo activated the Linglong Pagoda, enveloping everyone in Xuanhuang divine power. The women then began to calm their minds and enter into meditation.
After the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda was put in place to protect them, the strange phenomenon never appeared again. This greatly reassured the women, and they began to focus on expelling their inner demons.
Just as the Seven Fairies were in seclusion to expel their inner demons, a group of monks passed by at the foot of the mountain.
The group of five monks, led by a handsome and otherworldly-looking monk, rode a purple horse. This was the pilgrim's group.
Just as the pilgrims were passing by the foot of Chixian Mountain, a dragonfly flapped its wings and flew over their heads before hurriedly flying up the mountain.
Just then, a handsome man flew towards them. The dragonfly crashed into him, immediately becoming dizzy and unconscious. It then fell from the sky and landed in the forest.
The handsome man landed in front of Tang Sanzang and said, "Master, I have found out that after crossing this mountain and walking another twenty miles, you will reach the prefecture of Guiming Prefecture. There is a Wanfu Temple in the prefecture city where you can stay overnight."
Tang Sanzang was very pleased to hear this and said to the White Dragon, "You've worked hard."
Then he looked up at the sky and said, "There are still more than two hours until dark. Disciples, if we hurry up and cross this mountain, we can find lodging after walking another twenty miles."
Pigsy and Sandy, carrying the load at the back, grumbled and said, "Master, you make it sound so easy while riding a horse. Why don't you get off and try carrying this load yourself?"
Tang Sanzang said, "Bajie, you complain all the time just carrying a load. Did you come with me to fetch the scriptures, or for a spring outing?"
Pigsy said, "Master, please don't take it to heart. I just want to catch my breath."
Sun Wukong said, "You lazy pig, you've been resting the whole way, but you don't know that the more you rest, the more you lose your breath!"
"You wicked monkey, you stable boy!" Pigsy cursed twice. "Why didn't those old immortals under the Five Elements Mountain kill you back then?"
Sun Wukong laughed and said, "Who am I, Old Sun? Those old immortals are all cowards who fear death and are cowardly and afraid of losing their lives. They only dare to bully me because I can't move and they just stand there and curse me. Fight them? They wouldn't dare!"
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang immediately became very interested and said, "Oh? Wukong, something like this happened when you were imprisoned? Come, tell me about it."
And so, the pilgrim, talking all the way, crossed Chixian Mountain and headed straight for Wanfu Temple in Guiming Prefecture.
The seven fairies were completely unaware of this. The dragonfly demon who had delivered the message had been knocked unconscious by the white dragon and was still lying unconscious on the ground covered with leaves. (End of Chapter)
