I am a fairy in Journey to the West

Chapter 511 Adding fuel to the fire

After the five members of the Tang Monk's group finished their meal and took a hot bath, they returned to their meditation room and soon went to sleep.

The meditation rooms in the temple were mostly large communal rooms, but the Tang Monk and his disciples were arranged in separate rooms with two courtyards. Tang Monk slept alone in the inner room, while Sun Wukong and the other three slept on the two outer communal rooms.

Pigsy and Sandy were already fast asleep, their snores rising and falling. Tang Sanzang's steady breathing could be heard from the inner room. Only Monkey King and the White Dragon lay on the bed, their eyes wide open.

"Senior Brother, are you asleep?" Little White Dragon's voice came from the side.

Sun Wukong sat up, turned to the White Dragon and asked, "Junior Brother, why aren't you asleep yet?"

Upon hearing this, Little White Dragon sat up and said, "Senior Brother, I always feel that my mind is cluttered and I can't calm down, so I can't sleep."

Sun Wukong said, "Perhaps it's been a long time since I've felt this comfortable. Before, I would stay at farmhouses or rest in dilapidated temples, accompanied by the bright moon and the chirping of insects. Now that I'm in a temple, I don't feel used to it."

"It seems that if you suffer too much, you can't enjoy happiness." Little White Dragon said, then lay down again.

Just as the White Dragon lay down, a noise suddenly came from the inner room. Sun Wukong almost instantly jumped out of bed and went into the inner room.

The White Dragon Horse followed him off the bed and into the inner room, only to find that Tang Sanzang had woken up and was sitting on the bed, panting heavily.

Sun Wukong brought a cup of water to the bedside and handed it to Tang Sanzang, saying, "Master, did you have a nightmare? Here, have some water."

Tang Sanzang took the teacup, drank a sip of the still-warm water, and then said to Sun Wukong, "Wukong, I did have a nightmare."

"Oh?" Sun Wukong asked, "What kind of nightmare was it?"

Tang Sanzang said, "In my dream, I wandered out in a daze, and it seemed that I was strolling around Wanfo Temple. I didn't expect to walk to the outside of a hall. The hall was very gloomy. Just as I was about to leave, I saw the hall door open wide, and countless wronged women rushed out from inside, surrounded me, and then knelt in a circle, begging me to save them."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong's eyes lit up, and he said, "This dream."

The White Dragon asked, "Are they all the wronged souls of women?"

These words immediately swayed Sun Wukong, who asked with a grin, "Master, have you been tempted by worldly desires?"

"Nonsense!" Tang Sanzang said solemnly, "My determination to obtain the scriptures is as firm as iron and stone. Even if all the wealth and glory in the world were given away, the beauty of celestial beings could not sway me in the slightest."

“Yes, yes, yes,” Sun Wukong said repeatedly. “This disciple has no doubt about it.” After saying that, he took the teacup from Tang Sanzang’s hand and said, “Master, it’s not dawn yet, go back to sleep.”

Tang Sanzang nodded, lay back down, and asked, "Wukong, what time is it now?"

Sun Wukong calculated with his fingers and then said, "It's just past three quarters past Hai hour."

Tang Sanzang said, "Alright, Wukong, Wubai, you two go back to sleep too."

The two responded, then went out of the inner room and lay back down on their beds.

After the three of them had exchanged a few words, the little white dragon's heart calmed down, and he fell asleep shortly after lying down.

Only Sun Wukong remained wide awake; he felt something was amiss and couldn't fall asleep at all.

After an unknown amount of time, Sun Wukong faintly heard people whispering outside, and he immediately sat up in bed.

Listening closely, it was indeed someone whispering outside:

"Keep it down. The alchemy furnace is already lit, just waiting to send that monkey in."

"Don't disturb them, quickly release the sleeping gas."

"After we've bewitched them, we'll capture the monkey and Tang Sanzang first. The abbot said he'd use them to refine elixirs first."

"Okay, stop talking and get on with the work."

"."

Sun Wukong heard all the whispers clearly, and with the rustling sounds outside and the bamboo tube that was poked through the window paper, he immediately understood what was going on.

So he immediately woke up the little white dragon and covered his mouth with his hand.

When the White Dragon woke up, he was about to speak when he found his mouth covered. He immediately looked at Sun Wukong in front of him.

"Junior brother, don't speak loudly." Sun Wukong lowered his voice and pointed to the bamboo tube extending through the window.

Little White Dragon turned his head and saw that white smoke was coming out of the bamboo tube. He immediately whispered, "Senior Brother, what's going on?"

Sun Wukong laughed and said, "It must be that the people in this temple have evil intentions. Don't make a fuss. I, Old Sun, will play with them. Junior brother, come with me."

So Sun Wukong led the White Dragon into the inner room. Looking at Tang Sanzang who was fast asleep, they discovered that several bamboo tubes had been inserted into the windows on both sides of the inner room, and white smoke was billowing out of the bamboo tubes.

Sun Wukong stepped forward, ripped open Tang Sanzang's clothes, revealing Tang Sanzang's chest, and said to the White Dragon, "Junior brother, possess this body."

The white dragon nodded, then immediately transformed into a beam of white light and landed on Tang Sanzang's chest.

A flash of white light appeared on Tang Sanzang's chest, and a white dragon tattoo instantly appeared, coiling around his entire chest.

Sun Wukong gave one last instruction: "Second Brother, protect Master well." Then he turned and walked out.

Soon after, as the smoke grew thicker, Tang Sanzang quickly fainted, and even Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing's snoring became much heavier.

Sun Wukong lay down on the bed and then closed his eyes and fell asleep.

After an unknown amount of time, all the doors and windows of the house they were in were opened, and ten breaths later, a dozen or so monks rushed in. These monks first tied up Tang Sanzang in the inner room, then tied up Sun Wukong in the outer room, and finally tied up Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie.

“Wait, one is missing?” said a monk wearing an indigo robe.

The monks around were startled upon hearing this and quickly counted the number of people. Sure enough, one person was missing.

"And the pretty boy with horns on his head is missing," a monk said.

The monk in the indigo robe said, "Quickly take men to find it; we must catch it."

"Yes." The monks immediately ran out.

Meanwhile, the monk in the indigo robe, seeing that Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong were both there, smiled and said, "It's good that the main people are here. Quickly, carry these two to the alchemy room immediately."

"Yes," the monks replied, and then several monks lifted Tang Sanzang up and walked out.

When it came time to lift Sun Wukong, the four monks grabbed his limbs, but found they couldn't lift him no matter what they did.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" The four monks shouted as they lifted the object with all their might, but they were all panting heavily, while Sun Wukong remained completely still.

"Venerable Abbot, this... we can't lift it," a monk said to the monk wearing an indigo robe.

Upon hearing this, the elder of the academy's expression changed, and he said, "I always tell you to train more, but you all just know how to slack off. Now, the four of you can't even lift one person. You're really useless."

After saying that, the abbot turned to the other monks and said, "Go and help."

The monks acknowledged the order and stepped forward to stand in a corner. Then, the nine monks lifted him together. At a shout from the crowd, they all widened their eyes, bared their teeth, and used all their strength, but Sun Wukong remained completely still.

The abbot was taken aback when he saw this scene, then angrily said, "Stop pretending! Quickly carry him to the alchemy room, or the abbot will not forgive you."

Upon hearing this, the nine monks quickly explained, "Elder Abbot, it's not that we're being lazy, but this person seems to be attached to the bed; we simply can't lift him."

Upon hearing this, the elder of the academy frowned, walked around the bed once, and then pointed and said, "Never mind, carry the entire bed board over there."

Upon hearing this, the nine monks immediately jumped down, then stood on one side, grabbed the bed board, and lifted it up.

With a creak, the bed board, along with Sun Wukong, was lifted up by the crowd.

"Alright, quickly send it to the alchemy room." The abbot didn't say much more and led everyone out of the meditation room.

And so, the bed board on which Sun Wukong lay creaked and groaned all the way to the outside of the alchemy room, where it was brightly lit and occasionally emanated bursts of flames.

The Venerable King of Dharma and Abbot Faxin stood inside, watching the alchemy furnace. Tang Sanzang was placed to the side. When Sun Wukong was carried over, Abbot Faxin immediately said, "Why did it take so long?"

"Please forgive me, Abbot." The supervising elder quickly apologized, and then led the crowd to carry Sun Wukong into the alchemy room.

But after taking only a few steps, the bed board made a terrible 'creak' sound, and then it broke in the middle with a 'crash', and Sun Wukong's body fell to the ground with a 'thud'.

"Ouch!" the monks exclaimed, and quickly dropped the bed board to lift Sun Wukong.

But even after being lifted, Sun Wukong remained completely still. Seeing that everyone had been busy for a long time without making a sound, Abbot Faxin immediately stepped forward and asked sternly, "What's going on?"

The monks immediately knelt down and kept kowtowing to Abbot Faxin to apologize, saying, "Abbot, please forgive us, we can't lift it."

Abbot Faxin frowned, looking at Sun Wukong who was fast asleep on the ground, and said, "Can't lift him? Is there such a strange thing?"

As he spoke, Abbot Faxin stepped forward, grabbed Sun Wukong's arms, and pulled him up. The next moment, Abbot Faxin froze on the spot. Soon, his old face turned red, his teeth clenched, and his eyes widened.

After an unknown amount of time, Abbot Faxin trembled all over, and after a moment he suddenly released Sun Wukong and gasped for breath.

"As expected of an indestructible body, it is so heavy." Abbot Faxin said after his breathing became even, "It is truly impossible to lift."

Upon seeing this, the Supreme Dharma King immediately rolled up his sleeves and said, "I will do it."

After saying this, the Supreme Dharma King stepped forward, holding a Vajra Mudra in his hand. A golden light flashed across his arms, and then he grabbed Sun Wukong's clothes, roared, and lifted him up.

"Good!" Everyone applauded and cheered, only Sun Wukong, who was lifted into the sky, chuckled and then continued to pretend to be unconscious.

The Supreme Dharma King carried Sun Wukong into the alchemy room. Just as he was about to throw Sun Wukong into the furnace, he suddenly shuddered, his legs trembled, his arms shook, and he stood frozen in place, unable to move.

It was because Sun Wukong suddenly became incredibly heavy, as if a mountain was pressing down on his head.

The Supreme Dharma King exclaimed in alarm, "Quick! Come and help!"

Upon hearing this, Abbot Faxin and others rushed forward to support Sun Wukong's body from below, and then together with King Faming, they pushed Sun Wukong into the alchemy furnace.

Hearing the sound of Sun Wukong falling into the alchemy furnace, Shangfa Mingwang sat down on the ground with a thud, wiping the cold sweat from his face and saying, "Why is this monkey sometimes heavy and sometimes light? When he's heavy, even my Mighty Vajra Seal can't withstand it!"

Abbot Faxin, panting heavily, said, "Perhaps this is the power of the Vajra Indestructible Body. This monkey is already in the furnace; let's quickly throw Tang Sanzang in to set the fire."

"Alright." King Suddhodana nodded, and then the monks immediately lifted Tang Sanzang and threw him into the fire pit below the alchemy furnace.

They intended to use Tang Sanzang's flesh and bones to set off fire, hoping to melt Sun Wukong's indestructible body.

As soon as Tang Sanzang was thrown onto the fire platform, Abbot Faxin immediately closed the lid of the alchemy furnace and then began to add firewood to Tang Sanzang's body.

As the flames grew stronger, the alchemy furnace began to glow with spiritual light, and the refining power within it rapidly began to circulate. (End of Chapter)
