I am a fairy in Journey to the West
Chapter 526 The Dragon King Searches for His Daughter
Just as everyone uttered the words "Huilongjian", the purple dragon horse that was grazing not far away suddenly let out a neigh.
The five disciples turned their heads and saw that the purple dragon horse was surrounded by celestial light and dragon energy.
Upon seeing this, the little white dragon was the first to react, saying, "Oh no, it's showing signs of transforming into a dragon."
"Oh? Transformation into a dragon?" Sun Wukong said, then leaped onto the Purple Dragon Horse, grabbed the reins, and reined it in.
But the Purple Dragon Horse soon started to run wild. Sun Wukong tried his best to rein it in, but in the end the reins broke, the saddle fell off, and Sun Wukong himself fell off the horse.
Then the reins of the purple dragon horse were completely removed, and it leaped up in a burst of celestial light, soaring through the clouds and transforming into a dragon, heading straight into the heavens.
The roar of the dragon echoed through the mountains and rivers. Tang Sanzang and his disciples looked up and saw a purple dragon a hundred feet long soaring through the sky.
Furthermore, the dragon horns that had been sawed off had grown back. Seeing this, the little white dragon suddenly looked down at the grass on the ground and then said, "There's something wrong with this grass."
As soon as he finished speaking, the lush green grass that covered the valley vanished in an instant, and the once verdant valley was transformed into a river valley filled with sand, washed away by the flowing water.
"Oh no!" Pigsy exclaimed. "We've been ambushed! Quickly bring the Purple Dragon Horse back!"
After saying this, Pigsy picked up his rake and soared into the clouds, flying straight towards the purple dragon in the sky.
Seeing this, the White Dragon and Sandy also flew up into the sky and surrounded the Purple Dragon from three sides.
The purple dragon also seemed very flustered. Seeing the three white dragons surrounding him, he dared not run wild anymore and simply landed on the cloud without moving.
"How do we turn it back into a horse?" Pigsy asked.
Sha Wujing said, "Neither you nor I are dragons, so only my second brother probably knows about this."
When the two looked at him, the little white dragon shrugged and said, "I don't know either, I've never turned into a horse."
Pigsy said, "Let it turn back on its own."
As he spoke, Pigsy looked at the purple dragon and said, "Purple Dragon Horse, we haven't reached Mount Ling yet, your mission is not yet complete, quickly turn back into a horse."
Upon hearing this, a flash of divine light appeared on the purple dragon's body, and it transformed into a voluptuous and beautiful woman dressed in purple.
"Ah?!" Tang Sanzang below was shocked when he saw this, and said to Sun Wukong beside him, "Wukong, is she the Purple Dragon Horse?"
Sun Wukong laughed and said, "Master, is it uncomfortable to ride?"
Tang Sanzang felt extremely uncomfortable, realizing that he had been riding a horse that was actually a beautiful woman for over ten years.
"How could it be a mare?" Tang Sanzang stammered after hesitating for a long time.
At this moment, Ao Rui, who had transformed back into human form in the sky, spoke. She cupped her hands in a gesture of respect and said, "Ao Rui greets my three senior brothers."
Compared to more than a decade ago, Ao Rui has lost all her seductive charm and has become extremely calm and dignified.
After bowing, she said, "Back then, I was transformed into a horse by the heavenly general who sawed off my dragon horns and removed my dragon scales. Now I don't know how to turn back."
The three looked at each other, and finally the little white dragon said, "It seems we need to find the antidote for that strange herb."
Pigsy asked, "Where can we find the antidote in this desolate wilderness?"
Sha Wujing said, "Everything has its owner. That strange grass growing here must have an owner. But I wonder if its owner is a deity or a demon?"
Pigsy said, "I'm not afraid of demons, but I'm afraid of gods."
At this moment, Sun Wukong also flew up, and Ao Rui quickly bowed and said, "Greetings, Great Sage."
Sun Wukong nodded, inquired about the reason, and then said with a smile, "What's so difficult about that? First, find the person in question. If you can't find the person in question, I'll take her to the Heavenly Court to have her horns and scales removed again, and then she can transform into a horse once more."
"That's a good idea," Pigsy said with a smile.
Ao Rui had no objections, nor could she have any; she simply listened to the instructions.
Afterwards, Sun Wukong asked Sha Wujing to take Ao Rui back to Tang Sanzang's side, while he, the White Dragon, and Zhu Bajie separated to search for the owner of the Dragon Returning Gorge.
After the assignments were made clear, Sun Wukong and the other two each chose a side and flew away, while Sha Wujing and Ao Rui landed on the clouds and came to Tang Sanzang.
"Greetings, Master." Ao Rui came before Tang Sanzang, knelt down and kowtowed.
Tang Sanzang quickly composed himself and reached out to help Tang Sanzang up, saying, "No need for formalities, please get up."
"Thank you, Master." Ao Rui bowed and stood up, then walked to the side and stood respectfully.
Tang Sanzang glanced at Ao Rui again, still feeling very strange. Although Buddha had taken in many female disciples in the past, this situation was obviously different. At least Buddha did not turn those female disciples into horses and ride them for more than ten years.
On the other side, Sun Wukong landed on a mountaintop and suddenly noticed that the mountaintop in front of him was shrouded in mist, and there seemed to be a wooden house inside.
"Could it be that the master is here?" Sun Wukong thought to himself, and immediately strode through the clouds and arrived outside the wooden house.
The wooden house door was wide open, and two voices could be heard talking inside. Sun Wukong went forward and pressed his ear to the window to listen carefully:
"At this moment, she must have already eaten the Dragon Transformation Grass and transformed back into a dragon."
"Then you must go and take her away as soon as possible, otherwise Sun Wukong will take her to the Heavenly Court to transform into a dragon again."
"Okay, I'll go after this game."
"."
Hearing the conversation inside, Sun Wukong immediately jumped out and shouted into the house, "Hey, you petty, greedy, and cunning bandits, take this from me!"
Sun Wukong rushed in, raised his staff and struck, and the two people playing chess inside hurriedly dodged.
With a single blow from Sun Wukong's staff, the chessboard shattered, turning all the chess pieces into dust.
At this moment, Sun Wukong glanced around and finally saw the people in the room clearly. On the left was a Taoist priest with a long beard reaching his chest, holding a whisk, and with white hair and a youthful face. On the right was an old dragon with a dragon's head and a human body, dressed in the robes of the Dragon King.
The Taoist priest, holding a whisk, shouted, "Where did this wild monkey come from? How rude!" With that, he flicked the whisk, and a gust of wind blew Sun Wukong several times, sending him tumbling out of the house.
Sun Wukong finally regained his footing, and was shocked. "This person only waved his whisk and I was unable to resist. It is clear that his cultivation is unfathomable. He must be someone like Zhen Yuanzi."
Thinking of this, Sun Wukong immediately changed his expression and stood still, saying, "People inside, why did you set a trap in the valley to harm my master's mount?"
Then the Taoist priest and the old dragon came out of the house. The Taoist priest said, "Who harmed your master's mount?"
Sun Wukong said, "The grass in that valley turned my master's mount into a dragon after eating it. Didn't you plant that grass?"
"What do you know, you monkey?" the Taoist priest said, pointing to the old dragon beside him. "Do you know who he is?"
Sun Wukong laughed and said, "I don't care who he is. He's just an old dragon. Even the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas have to respectfully call me 'Great Sage Equal to Heaven' when they see me, Old Sun."
The Taoist laughed heartily, then pointed at the old dragon and said, "Well done, Great Sage Equal to Heaven! Let me tell you, this man is Ao Yan, the Dragon King of the Bohai Sea."
Sun Wukong was slightly surprised when he heard the name and said, "Ao Yan, the Dragon King of the Bohai Sea, sounds very familiar."
At this moment, the Dragon King of Bohai bowed and said with a smile, "Great Sage, I am the biological father of the Purple Dragon Horse Ao Rui."
“I remember now,” Sun Wukong said. “I remember you had a magic weapon called the ‘Six-Earth Softening Needle,’ do you still have it?”
The Dragon King of Bohai laughed and said, "Of course it is." After saying that, he took out the Six-Earth Softening Needle from his sleeve and handed it to Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong looked closely and saw that it was indeed the Six-Earth Softening Needle, and he was now certain of the identity of the Bohai Dragon King.
So Sun Wukong asked the Taoist priest again, "May I ask who this Taoist priest is?"
Zhuang Yan smiled and said, "My secular surname is Wu, and my given name is Ciren."
"So it's Master Wu." Sun Wukong asked with a smile, "Presumably, the green grass in that valley was created by your hand?"
“That’s right, that herb is called Dragon Transformation Grass. If the Purple Dragon Horse eats this herb, it will be reborn as a dragon.” Zhuang Yan, in his disguise as Wu Daoren, stroked his long beard and said.
Sun Wukong looked at the Dragon King of the Bohai Sea and said, "Dragon King of the Bohai Sea, your daughter committed a crime and was punished by being made a dragon horse to carry my master to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures, so that she could atone for her crime. Why are you setting up this ambush here today?"
The Dragon King of Bohai hurriedly said, “Great Sage, my daughter has carried your master for fourteen years. Now that Mount Ling is almost here, her sins have been absolved and she should regain her freedom.”
"That's why I asked Master Wu to plant the Dragon Transformation Grass here today, so that she can be transformed back into a dragon and taken back to the Bohai Dragon Palace," said the Bohai Dragon King.
Sun Wukong replied, "Although Mount Ling is close at hand, we haven't reached it yet. If you take her back now, isn't that abandoning the journey halfway? How can that be considered an absolution of your sins?"
The Dragon King of Bohai laughed and said, "Great Sage, this is not what I said myself. I have here the decree of exoneration from the Great Master of Fate who oversees all human affairs."
As he spoke, the Dragon King of Bohai took out the document of atonement from his sleeve and presented it to Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong took the document and saw that it was indeed a document of atonement from the God's Palace of Buzhou Mountain. It was stamped with three large seals: "Seal of the True Lord of the Manifestation of the Spirit Platform and the Jade Extreme", "Seal of the Great Master of Fate in the Human World", and "Seal of the Great Master of Fate in the Human World, the Precious Seal of the God's Palace".
Upon seeing the three precious seals, Sun Wukong had nothing more to say. He first returned the document of atonement, then put away his golden cudgel and began to laugh heartily.
“Hey, Old Dragon King, the Purple Dragon Horse has already carried my master here, and it’s only a thousand miles away from Mount Ling. Why don’t you do me a favor and let her carry my master a little further?” Sun Wukong said with a grin.
The Dragon King of Bohai shook his head and said, "Great Sage, since my daughter's sins have been absolved, there is no need for her to atone for her sins. I have come here to take her back."
Sun Wukong said, "Consider it a favor I owe you, how about it?"
The Dragon King of the Bohai Sea still shook his head, saying, "Great Sage, let alone you, even if Guanyin Bodhisattva herself came today, she would not be able to stop me from taking Ao Rui away."
Sun Wukong sighed, "Old Dragon King, why are you so stubborn?"
Upon hearing this, the Dragon King of Bohai immediately broke out in a cold sweat and quickly looked to Zhuang Yan for help.
Seeing this, Zhuang Yan said, "Great Sage Equal to Heaven, these parents are heartbroken for their daughter. Your threats and inducements here might damage your reputation as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven."
Sun Wukong said, "Why do you meddle in other people's business, old Taoist?"
Zhuang Yan said, "But I cannot bear to see injustice in the world."
Sun Wukong stared at Zhuang Yan for a long time before saying, "Old Taoist, you are so arrogant, I wonder what skills you have?"
Zhuang Yan laughed and said, "This whisk of mine has the power to reach the heavens and penetrate the earth. Would the Great Sage like to try it?"
Sun Wukong, who was already resentful after being knocked away by his whisk, perked up immediately upon hearing this. He firmly planted his feet on the ground and then nailed his golden cudgel to the ground. He then said to Zhuang Yan, "Come, come, old Taoist, I, your old Sun, will let you hit me three times with your whisk. If you can make me take a step back, I will have nothing more to say. If not, then you should not interfere in this matter anymore."
Zhuang Yan smiled slightly and said, "You said it yourself."
Sun Wukong said, "It was the Great Sage Equal to Heaven who said it!"
“Alright.” Zhuang Yan nodded, then gently waved his whisk, and Sun Wukong instantly rose into the air, streaking across the sky like a rainbow, flying dozens of miles away before crashing heavily into the Returning Dragon Ravine.
Tang Sanzang, Sha Wujing, and Ao Rui, who were waiting in the valley, were startled. When they looked up, they saw dust everywhere and Sun Wukong had smashed a huge sand pit in the ground. A moment later, he crawled out of the pit, looking bewildered.
"Elder Brother." Sha Wujing hurriedly stepped forward and helped Sun Wukong out.
Tang Sanzang quickly stepped forward and asked, "Wukong, are you alright?"
Before Sun Wukong could speak, everyone saw a ripple appear in the void before them, followed by a flash of celestial light within the ripple, from which Zhuang Yan, disguised as Wu Daoren, and the Dragon King of the Bohai Sea emerged.
Upon seeing the Dragon King of the Bohai Sea, Ao Rui trembled, tears welling up in her eyes. She then knelt down with a thud, bowing her head and weeping, "Father!"
(Happy National Day everyone! The journey to the West storyline will probably end in a few more chapters.) (End of this chapter)
