The Wizard's Secret Journey

Chapter 194 Underground

Chapter 194 Underground (22)

"If I remember correctly, this should be the entrance."

Standing before a rock wall, Lynn muttered to himself.

He reached out and pushed aside the drooping fluorescent vines, stepping into the open crevice behind them.

A layer of damp moss covered the entrance, obscuring all traces. If Lynn hadn't known this was the entrance to the dungeon through the memories of Kalek and the others, he would never have noticed this ordinary crevice in the rock.

Beyond the crevice was a gentle slope. After walking about a hundred meters, the surrounding moss had significantly decreased, replaced by some exposed crystalline minerals.

After walking a few more steps, a small but bottomless darkness appeared before them.

Lynn skillfully took two steps to the left along the rock wall and reached out to touch an ordinary white crystal on the rock wall.

In an instant, the white crystal resonated with the crystalline spots on Lynn's skin, emitting a barely perceptible glow.

Then, in the bottomless pit, a winding crystal path gradually lit up.

"It is said that the vast city of Radiant Vein has thousands of roads leading to the surface, but Calek only knows a dozen or so common ones, one of which is called the Crystal Path."

Lynn continued walking forward.

The Crystal People refer to themselves as the Crystal Clan, or Crystal People... and some also use the name Crystal Cave People.

However, this title is not accepted by some Spirit Crystal people.

This group of Spirit Crystal people generally believe that their ancestors lived on the surface of the Mossy World many years ago, when the Mossy World was not like it is now, full of moss... As for the evidence, it is the relics on the surface.

This group of Spirit Crystal People is also known as the Surface Faction.

However, most chipmakers are underground, and they do not agree with the views of the surface faction.

This is mainly because the history of the Spirit Crystal race is very chaotic, and the history recorded in many different dungeons is different.

Even though some ruins do exist on the surface, the underground faction generally believes that those buildings are merely failed traces left by some Spirit Crystal races who once attempted to live on the surface.

Regardless of the differences between the surface faction and the underground faction, the Spirit Crystal race nowadays does indeed live underground and has established countless city-states.

The largest of these thousand cities is known as the Spirit Crystal Thousand Cities.

And the city of Radiant Pulse, where Kalek is located, is one of them... Of course, whether it is or not, no one can really know.

The legend of the Thousand Cities of Spirit Crystals is just a vague and unfounded myth, and there are inherent obstacles to the connection between dungeons.

Even Huimai City, which claims to be one of the Thousand Cities of Spirit Crystals, has only a little over a hundred cities, large and small, that are directly or indirectly connected to it.

After walking along the crystal path for nearly an hour, passing by many spirit crystal people, Lynn finally saw the massive crystal city wall he remembered.

'We've finally reached the Crystal Cluster Throat.' Lynn paused briefly, then continued forward with the pedestrians.

The city of Radiant Pulse is generally composed of five main large caves and dozens of smaller caves.

The cave behind the Crystal Cluster Throat Pass is the one of the five large caves known as the Cave of Crystal Cluster Light.

And this is where Kalek's home is.

Instead of walking through the main gate of the Crystal Cluster Throat Pass with ordinary pedestrians, Lynn went straight to the narrow gate next to it, raised his left hand, and a gray-white and blue triangular crystal badge on the back of his hand lit up.

The guards at the narrow gate immediately bowed and made way for them.

The social system of the Lingjing ethnic group is relatively feudal, emphasizing bloodlines, and there is a clear divide between different classes.

Although the Xunshi family, to which Kalek belongs, has fallen into ruin, it is still one of the noble families of Huimai City.

Passing through the narrow gate, the Crystal Cluster City immediately came into Lynn's view. The staggered crystal buildings rose and fell, and the domes were inlaid with glowing minerals, making the entire huge cavern look like a dreamlike land of deep blue light.

The most striking feature is the enormous crystal pillars hanging from the dome, each one dazzling and smooth, supporting the entire cave.

On the busy street in front of us, pedestrians came and went in an endless stream, and occasionally a Beetle-like car would pass by.

Lynn waved and stopped a Beetle.

Ten minutes later, the driver's respectful voice came from the front of the carriage:
"Sir, we have arrived at the Xunshi family's residence."

Lynn lifted the carriage curtain and looked outside.

This is a mansion built of gray and dark blue crystals. Due to years of financial difficulties, the mansion's walls are somewhat dilapidated, and many side gates have been closed because there are not enough people to guard them. Only the main gate in front is still open.

Normally, this place is deserted, but at this moment a group of law enforcement officers have gathered here, wearing unique chip armor and with weapons hanging at their waists.

An old, familiar spirit crystal cultivator blocked their way at the entrance, speaking excitedly:

"Even if I die here today, I will not let you set foot in the Xunshi family's territory!"

"Don't be so stubborn, old Nili! The last descendants of the Xunshi family have all died in that hellish place on the surface. According to the laws of Huimai City, we will reclaim all the assets of the Xunshi family for redistribution!"

"Bah! According to the law, at least two weeks must pass before confiscating property, and if they're missing, it must be at least two months!" Old Nili was furious, pointing at the enforcement captain and cursing him.
"You lowly scum! My young master has only been gone for 10 days! How dare you do this?!"

Perhaps because the term "Teppizi" was too contemptuous, the enforcement captain flew into a rage and pushed old Neri to the ground!
"Butler Nili!"

"Damn it!"

A chaotic cacophony of shouts erupted as Nili's guards, servants, and law enforcement team members clashed.

"Sir...we have arrived at our destination," the coachman reminded him cautiously once again.

Lynn lowered the carriage curtain and slowly walked towards the chaotic entrance of the Xunshi family's house.

"Ouch..." Old Nili groaned as he struggled to stand up and stop the guards' behavior, when he suddenly saw Lynn.

"Young...Young Master!"

Old Nili's voice wasn't loud, but it immediately quieted the chaotic crowd.

Everyone turned around in unison to look at the boy who was slowly approaching.

The difference was that old Neri and his guards and servants were all beaming with joy and excitement, while the enforcers' faces were as black as the bottom of a pot.

"Impossible, this is impossible..." the enforcement captain murmured absentmindedly, his facial muscles twitching several times with shock and unease. He gritted his teeth and whispered to his teammate beside him, "Let's go!"

The group turned to leave quickly, but as they passed Lynn, they heard a cold voice ring out in their ears, as sharp as a winter wind:
"Excuse me, did I give you permission to leave?"

The enforcement captain was startled, but he forced himself to remain calm, pretending not to have heard anything, and continued forward regardless.

'Once we leave here, everything will be fine...'

puff-

With a barely perceptible soft sound, the enforcement captain felt a sudden chill on his neck, and his vision began to spin. After a violent tremor, he suddenly saw a familiar headless body.

That looks...like my own body?
Before the enforcement captain could figure out the connection, he was plunged into eternal darkness.

The expressions on the faces of Old Niri and his men froze, and the remaining members of the enforcement team stood frozen in place as if they had seen a ghost.

After a long pause, someone murmured in astonishment:
"He killed the captain?"
"He is... a Crystal Master?!"
