The Wizard's Secret Journey

Chapter 220 Black Moon Enforcement Order

Chapter 220 Black Moon Enforcement Order

Perhaps this is a case of being blinded by one's own involvement; Lynn suddenly realized, after a flash of inspiration, that he had always possessed something capable of fighting across ranks.

'However, the Black Moon Enforcement Order is essentially a magical artifact, and while magical artifacts that grant the user the ability to fight beyond their level are rare, they do exist.'

The reason Lynn had never considered the Black Moon Enforcement Order before was because he had always regarded it as such a rare magical artifact.

'Does such a rare magical artifact, as I suspect, contain corresponding knowledge beyond one's level?'

Lynn's knowledge of the wizarding tools was limited, at the level of a wizarding apprentice. He only vaguely knew that wizarding tools existed in the wizarding world that could give wizards the ability to fight beyond their level, but he was not sure whether they contained the wizarding knowledge he wanted.

After thinking for a moment, Lynn suppressed his excitement and asked Kira:
"I've heard that some rare magical artifacts can grant wizards power far exceeding their own rank, just like deadly magic?"

“That’s right.” Kira nodded, sighing, “My dream is to one day be able to make such a magical artifact.”

Wizards prefer to call magical artifacts with such effects "magical treasures" rather than ordinary magical tools.

"What's the difference between those treasures and deadly witchcraft, Lady Kira?" Lynn asked again.

"Of course there are big differences. The biggest difference is that witch treasures generally consume some kind of precious resource without harming themselves... Of course, there are also evil things like deadly witchcraft, but they are not called witch treasures, but evil tools."

"Furthermore, some exceptionally rare magical artifacts can be reused indefinitely without consuming a specific resource, requiring only sufficient magic power. Most other common magical artifacts, however, are either consumables or require replenishment with additional rare and specific resources periodically."

Kira then emphasized, "The magical artifact I want to create is one that can be reused repeatedly... Unfortunately, the barrier to entry for creating such a magical artifact is very high."

"Witchcraft tools are the specific application of witchcraft arrays. They are actually engraved on objects or used to form witchcraft arrays. In essence, witchcraft arrays are condensed witchcraft knowledge, using external objects to simulate the witchcraft released by a witch using magic and spirit."

"Therefore, to make such a magical artifact, one must possess the corresponding knowledge of witchcraft."

Kira's explanation was very detailed, and Lynn's anxiety immediately subsided. He calmly pressed for more information:

"So, behind every reusable magical artifact lies a magical technique that allows a wizard to unleash super-powerful abilities?"

"That's true in most cases, but in a few cases, it's about combining several low-level knowledge to unleash power beyond a certain level. One of the most ingenious ways is to enhance its energy module, greatly increasing its power and thus unleashing power beyond its level."

“I understand.” Lynn nodded slowly.

Kira's meaning was actually quite simple. Enhancing the energy module was equivalent to using second-tier magic to unleash first-tier sorcery, so the power would naturally be increased. However, generally speaking, the increase was rather limited. After all, having only second-tier magic without a matching second-tier spirit would greatly reduce the efficiency of magic utilization, resulting in more brute force than substance.

'As long as the Black Moon Enforcement Order is not in this situation, it means that it must contain knowledge that allows me to fight beyond my level.'

"At that time, whether it's a combination of multiple lower-level knowledge subjects leading to higher-level knowledge, or a single, independent subject leading to higher-level knowledge, it will be of great benefit to me!"

After chatting for a few more minutes, Lynn bid farewell to Kira and eagerly returned to the Horsens School's Silver Ring headquarters to begin researching the Black Moon Enforcement Order!

……

……

Lower City District, Second Prison.

In the deepest cell beneath the earth, Bradley, with a smile, asked the wizard before him once more:
"Are you sure that the only way to join the Black Moon Exploration Association is through member recommendation, Gordy?"

"Yes...yes, sir, this is the only one I know," the tall, thin wizard replied in a hoarse voice. He was kneeling on the ground, his robes stained blackish-brown, and beneath him lay a pool of dried blood. If it weren't for the somewhat familiar voice, no one would have been able to connect him with the wizard who had kidnapped Kira.

Perhaps fearing Bradley still wouldn't believe him, Gordy forced himself to add, "Sir, what I said is true. I'm just an outer member of the Black Moon Exploration Association, and I don't know much."

"The wizard who escaped the Black Moon Ruins with you was a core member of the Exploration Association?"

"That's what he told me, and he knows what I really look like. If there are no surprises, he should indeed be a core member of the Exploration Association." Gordy spoke very cautiously. Having experienced Bradley's terrifying methods, he didn't want to go through it a second time.

"So, members at level 4 or above?"

"Yes."

Bradley nodded and paced back and forth in front of Gordy with his hands behind his back. He moved slowly, and each thud of his shoes against the ground felt like a blow to Gordy's heart, making him tremble uncontrollably.

After a long silence, Bradley's emotionless voice suddenly came through:
"Have you heard of mutual aid societies, Gordy?"

“Mutual aid society?” Gordy looked confused. He slowly raised his head and met Bradley’s strange black eyes.

It was a jet black, even darker than ink, covering the eye sockets. Some black, spiderweb-like lines also spread outward from the corners of the eyes, making it look like the skin had many black cracks.

Gordy shivered involuntarily, his heart feeling as if gripped by an invisible giant hand.

He tried to resist, but as soon as he stood up, he was pressed back down by some omnipresent force, unable to move and only able to gasp for breath.

“Relax, this is just a necessary ritual to join the Confederation. As long as you cooperate, you will be able to leave this prison and regain your freedom in a short while.” Bradley’s tone was gentle and his expression sincere.

Apart from the strange pupils, everything was normal.

Gordy lowered his guard slightly, took a breath, and asked, "Are you telling the truth, sir?"

“Of course.” Bradley smiled, a faint black mist emanating from the lines at the corners of his eyes and drifting towards Gordy.

Gordy instinctively wanted to resist, but quickly chose to give up.

In this situation, what good will it do for him to be wary and distrust Bradley?
The black energy quickly entered through Gordy's pupils and spread throughout his body.

Just moments later, Gordy's pupils turned as black as Bradley's, and spiderweb-like patterns appeared at the corners of his eyes.

“How are you feeling, Gordy?” Bradley asked.

"..." Gordy remained silent for a long while before finally stammering, as if a computer were lagging, "Very...very good!"

Bradley frowned and sighed.

'Another defective product... I didn't expect that even in this situation, the probability of a perfect transformation is less than 10%.'

He turned and left, his commanding words echoing at the same time:
"Try to recall your memories, especially those about the Black Moon Exploration Association... I need you as an undercover agent."
