Chapter 61: Opening of the Expo

Chapter 61: Opening of the Expo

“Knock, knock!” Wizard Zet knocked on the cabin door. “Princess, we are approaching the Twin Towers.”

"Teacher, didn't we agree that our current identity is a traveling merchant group?" The hatch opened, revealing a young lady dressed as an ordinary working woman.

She had a slender figure and short, messy hair, which was not common among women of that era. Although she was holding a book in her hand, the rough calluses showed that books were not the things she held most often. What she was most familiar with was perhaps a hoe or a weapon.

"Excuse me for being blunt, Miss Figgin, but the mercenary group is more in line with our temperament."

In the corridor, a group of muscular warriors, whose deltoid muscles were bigger than their heads and were stuffed into bulging shirts, nodded in agreement.

"But we are here to participate in the Twin Towers City Expo, so a traveling merchant group would be more logical." Figxin retorted. What's the point of a mercenary group? She has been one of them and killed enough people.

"But I think it's also important that the image is logical." Someone in the crowd answered weakly.

"Don't you know to say 'report' before you speak?" Figxin raised his eyebrows, revealing his domineering attitude.

"You, it was you who told us to go to Shuangta City and talk without reporting." The soldier who had just answered lowered his head and stuttered with fear.

"I, I," Figosin was a little embarrassed, as if he was not really suitable to play the role of a traveling merchant group, but as a team leader, he still had to master the art of speech, "Our ship hasn't docked yet, which means we haven't reached the Twin Towers City yet. Get ready for push-ups until we dock!"

"Yes!" The soldier lay on the floor and started doing push-ups like a machine.

"Have you eaten yet? Lift your feet off the floor. Do you know what the standard of push-ups is in the North?" Figsin's every move was full of decisiveness.

The soldier's feet were suspended in the air, and he only relied on the strength of his shoulders and arms to bear his entire body weight. When he did push-ups, his core did not shake at all.

"Okay, you did a good job, return to the team!" Figsingh didn't intend to have them stay until the dock. After all, she had her shortcomings in this matter. "It's a rare opportunity to have a holiday. After the dock, you can do whatever you want. I'll reimburse all your expenses, but I know the limits. I just have a nice title, I'm not that rich."

"Yes!" The powerful shout echoed in the cabin. It was very inspiring, but it was not clear how it looked like a merchant group.

Wizard Zet accompanied Figxin to the deck. The outlines of the densely packed buildings of the Twin Towers were already visible. The lighting and gas indicator lights on the tops of the Perente and Solon towers pierced through the thick morning fog, indicating the direction for the countless ships participating in the expo.

The air here is different from that in the north. It is so humid that it feels like sucking water into your nasal cavity. Even though you haven't exercised, you always feel sticky. Even if you have just taken a shower, the refreshed feeling will not last for a few hours.

But it is still much better than the North. At least it is better than the knife-like wind that cracks the skin, and the cold that makes you fall drunk on the street after a night and never wake up in the morning.

"Ms. Figxin, are you sure you don't need guards? After all, this is the current situation." Wizard Zet asked with some concern.

"No need. It's a rare opportunity for us to come out and play. Anyone who can beat me will cause a lot of trouble. Even if Archmage Soran doesn't want to interfere, Ms. Fulin will not watch the city being destroyed given her sense of justice."

"But a group of nobles disappeared in the city before, and the incident was suppressed. I'm afraid the situation is very bad."

"Perhaps that matter was suppressed by Archmage Soran or Lady Fulin. You should know better than me what those nobles are like. I think it is more likely that they deserved to disappear. What do you think?"

"Be careful with your words, Miss. Our cause cannot be without the support of those people." Master Zet warned her carefully. She was very smart, but easily impulsive. Impulse can sometimes be a good thing, but it can also hurt herself at times.

Figgin didn't respond, but simply gripped the railing tightly, causing the wood to creak.

"We're here at the Twin Towers City!" The sailor's shout woke up the passengers who were exhausted from the long journey.

The Feigexin Merchants symbolically carried a few boxes of northern specialties to show their identity and marched off the ship. Their neat steps stomped on the wooden boards, making a sound like a marching drum. None of the other passengers on the ship dared to approach within a few meters of them, and the passing dogs tucked their tails between their legs for fear of being slapped.

"Alas." Wizard Zet sighed helplessly. Now they didn't even look like a mercenary group.

The old wizard could only explain to the onlookers: "It's a local custom, a celebration ceremony after the journey reaches the destination. It's okay, no hitting."

The queue was disbanded, and Figosin teamed up with Wizard Zet to curiously explore everything at the expo.

In addition to the main venue located in the city center, there are numerous branch venues scattered throughout the city except for mixed-race areas and refugee gathering areas.

Now the entrance and periphery of the mixed-race area and refugee gathering area have been blocked by temporary decorative walls, and there are garrison guarding the surrounding area all day long. The noble lords are kind-hearted and cannot stand the poor.

All businesses in the city, whether participating in the exhibition or not, also organized activities to welcome the large number of tourists.

Figosin discovered that there were two illusion signs at every intersection, both with strange red "center" signs printed on them. The first sign contained the real-time queue status of each exhibition project.

What’s even more novel is that another sign scrolls and displays reviews of different exhibits, and anyone can write one as long as they can activate the “middle” rune.

It doesn't matter if you don't know magic. Next to each sign there are students from the Repin Spellcaster Academy who are out to earn extra money. For just one copper coin, you can enjoy the rune activation service.

"I've seen this kind of symbol before," said Master Zet. "Many of my apprentices have activated it, too. It seems like they were using it to play games or something like that, causing them to lose focus in class. I don't know who did it, but I often hear them mention a name called Master Toto. He could be some new wizard."

"Really? Then I must meet this master if I have the chance."

Figesin looks at the projects lined up.

First place: Drogo game launch conference;
Second place: Drogo Studios, premiere of the film "The Hunt";
Third place: Drogo Studios, re-screening of the film "The Trip to the Holy Mountain";
Fourth place: Drogo Toy Store New Product Trial;

Fifth place: Tasting of new flavors of the “Light Pharmacy” series from Drogo Pharmacy;
No. 6: Drogo comics author meeting;

……

It's hard not to notice Drogo at the top of the list.

"Is this Drogo the Drogo I'm thinking of?" Figosin asked uncertainly.

"That shouldn't be the case. It hasn't appeared for decades and it's rumored to be dead. It probably wanted to give it a strange name to attract caravans." Wizard Zet answered uncertainly.

The North is indeed a bitterly cold place with inconvenient transportation. All new things spread very slowly, and even now the yo-yo has not been popularized.

It’s really cold and there’s no heating. Playing with a yo-yo will freeze your hands. Anyone who has played with it knows.

But that's how people are. The more people you see queuing up, the more you want to try it.

"Which one should we go to first?" Figosin had never thought that there would be so many ways to entertain himself that he didn't know which one to choose. Eating in the North was a problem, and entertainment was even more of a luxury.

"Hello," two girls dressed as students from the Repin Academy suddenly spoke up, "Are you also interested in Drogo's New Shadow? It just so happens that we have two extra tickets."
