Red Dragon has magic

Chapter 491 Guess

Chapter 491 Guess
Lyon figured out the problem, but he wasn't in a hurry. In fact, he just had a feeling and was slightly distracted, not panicked or frowning.

Lyon waited until he caught a large grouper, and the two hours he spent sitting on the rocks by the sea were not wasted. Only then did he leave the beach with his bucket, hand it over to his maid to cook, and head to the mage tower in Tassera.

When he found Tassera, she was studying an ancient book from the elves, her head slightly lowered, a few strands of hair falling beside her cheek, her long eyelashes fluttering gently. After a long while, she raised her head, glanced at Leon, tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, and asked, "What brings you here today?"

Lyon replied without changing his expression, "Because I miss her."

"Thank you." Tassera smiled broadly.

Lyon's gaze swept around the room, quickly drawn to the ship in a bottle figurine on Tassera's desk. He picked it up, examined it for a moment, and said, "I just went fishing."

"How was the harvest?" Tassera raised an eyebrow.

Lyon put down the boat in the bottle, gestured with his hands in the air, and said, "What a huge grouper. I gave it to the maids and told them to prepare braised grouper."

"That's amazing." Tassera gave a somewhat perfunctory smile.

She really had no interest in fishing at all, and had no idea what it was about. She thought that if she spent half a day working hard just to catch a fish, she would be better off doing something else and gaining more. Little did she know that the key to fishing was never the fish, but the process of fishing.

“Then, while fishing,” Lyon walked to the bookshelf, “I suddenly felt a little uneasy.”

Tassera stopped turning the pages of her book, slowly turned to look at Leon, and asked, "And then?"

Lyon raised his hand, made a finger-counting gesture, and said, "The problem lies in the north. I can only deduce that the problem lies in the north."

"A god is involved?" Tassera asked gravely.

"Probably," Lyon said casually, thinking that if there were no divine intervention, he wouldn't have only been able to calculate that the problem was in the north; he could have definitely calculated much more, such as the time, place, people, and fortune.

“You haven’t gone anywhere lately, have you? You haven’t done anything, have you? You’ve spent most of your time sleeping. Logically speaking, you shouldn’t have offended any god.” Tassera closed the book and pondered for a moment. “North of the Kingdom of Zhen Dan, that’s the Lost Plateau… Could it be that the Giant God is planning something against you?”

Lyon crossed his arms and listened quietly to Tasserla's analysis.

“Did you know?” Tassera tapped her fingers lightly on the table, “thousands of years ago, Surte once ordered a High God to go to Aphronath and kill Her Majesty Tiamat.”

“Even if Surt himself came, he wouldn’t be a match for our Emperor Tiamat. He was imprisoned in Aphrodite, but he’s got some skills.” Lyon couldn’t help but laugh. “A mere Supreme Being… I don’t know what to say.”

“He was easily defeated by Her Majesty Tiamat, but instead of killing him, Her Majesty cursed him, turning him into a Thorn Demon,” Tassera said scornfully. “The poor fellow hid in the helmet he once wore, plotting all by himself how to regain his true form. Thousands of years of solitude have driven him insane.”

"What happened in the end?" Lyon asked curiously.

“They were rescued by a group of adventurers.” Tassera pursed her lips slightly. “Now they should be in the divine realm of their god, Surth.” Lyon nodded, neither confirming nor denying.

“The giant god’s assassin might be on his way.” Tassera looked at Leon, showing no concern for his safety. “If there really is a giant god’s assassin, what do you plan to do with him? Kill him outright, imprison him, or curse him?”

“We’ll see.” Leon paused. “But it can’t be the Giant God, because the north I mentioned is a bit further north.”

“If we go a little further north… the northern part of the Lost Plateau is the Red Crown Desert, right?” Tassera’s eyes showed a hint of doubt. “The ancient, fallen empire has been destroyed, leaving only a bunch of ruins… there are hardly any gods left there, only abominations and ancient evil creatures, which have nothing to do with our Kingdom of Cinda.”

Lyon thought about the Red Crown Desert and said, "Perhaps we need to go a little further north."

“If we go a little further north, there’s only a frozen wasteland, inhabited by frost giants and white dragons.” Tassera frowned and gently rubbed her temples. “I can’t imagine what could be happening there that would make you so uneasy.”

"Instead of guessing here, we'll just go and see for ourselves." Lyon needed to concentrate fully during the refinement of the Primordial Purple Qi, and he didn't want to use his brain during his rest time.

“Go.” Tassera knew Leon’s strength; in fact, what she knew was only a part of Leon’s strength.

Lyon wasn't in a hurry, so he spent some time talking with Tassera and cuddling before leaving.

Tassera stood by the window, her hands gripping the frame, watching Leon vanish into thin air as a streak of light. She returned to her chair at her desk, picked up the ancient book she had only half-read, and stared at the Elven script on it. Suddenly, she murmured to herself, "Northern, Elven, Dragon… Dragon Madness Lock?"

That happened in the world of Toril.

At that time, Faerûn was in the Age of Dragons, where dragons ruled over all the lower races at will. The elves were particularly resentful of the dragons' enslavement and sought a way to escape oppression. After years of secret research and debates about the costs and risks in the cold north of Faerûn, they finally devised the Dragonmaze Chains.

Under the influence of the Dragon Madness Lock, dragons' perception will gradually decrease, making them more reckless and agitated, extremely belligerent and reckless, eventually falling into unconscious destruction and slaughter.

Many people believe that the key to the Dragon Madness Lock lies in the King Killer Star, because the appearance of the King Killer Star always signifies the arrival of the Dragon Madness. In reality, the Dragon Madness Lock and the King Killer Star are closely connected, but the Dragon Madness Lock does not necessarily depend on the King Killer Star to exist or function.

The elves bound Dragon Frenzy Lock and Kingslayer Star together to mitigate its effects, thereby preventing Dragon Frenzy from completely engulfing Faerûn.

"Because Lyon became the Dragon God, Fiora established a church, Sharon began to rise to prominence, and dragons slowly gathered in the Kingdom of Zhen Dan... Rumors of the coming of the Dragon Age are rampant. What thoughts have those elves had?" Tassera muttered to herself, feeling that there was a certain possibility.

"If I were one of those elves, and I saw that a dragon was about to rise, would I take precautions?" Tassera tried to put herself in their shoes.

“We must contact Lyon… If the elves really intend to create the Dragon Madness Lock, they must have made preparations long ago. It would be very dangerous for him to rush north.” Tassera said with some worry, “Hopefully we can make it in time.”
