Chapter 1: Battle in the Forest
The crosshairs placed a military green mechanical giant in the sight.

The mechanical giant was walking in the dense forest, with the iconic one-eyed monitor on its head constantly patrolling left and right.

In the drizzle on this Southeast Asian land, the red light of the one-eye spreads, captivating the heart.

And behind it, there were two identical giants following in a triangle formation.

This is the enemy, a weapon developed by the Principality of Zeon to cope with the gap in military power. It is a large mobile unit called MS.

It replaced the tank on the gravity front and became an armored unit that could influence the outcome of the battle.

"Three Zakus, moving northwest. What luck. Kallen, the data has been sent!"

Although its official model should be Zaku II, everyone simply calls it Zaku.

Eli Lee was in no hurry to pull the trigger on the joystick.

Instead, he confirmed the data transmission on the communication screen next to him.

However, it is worth noting that wireless communication is difficult to achieve on this soil.

Under the influence of a special particle called Minovsky particle, electromagnetic waves will be greatly interfered, and long-distance communications will often only be left with noise.

It is common to lose contact on the battlefield when the concentration is too high.

This also makes guided weapons such as missiles and anti-aircraft guns ineffective.

For a moment, this war that engulfed the entire human world and even caused the fall of colonial satellites even returned to the combat mode of World War II.

Just like now, Eli is driving the Earth Federation's latest combat weapon, but he relies on optical sights for aiming.

By the way, Eli and Nakalian communicate through an optical cable pulled from the ground, exchanging data in the form of wired communication.

"Confirmed, ready to fire!"

A strong female voice came from the other side of the communication.

The woman named Kallen has a rough voice. Perhaps this is the so-called alienation of people caused by war?

After confirming again that the MS named Zaku did not change its route, Eli quietly moved his crosshairs and aimed at the one in the middle of the three machines.

As the Earth Federation was confronting the Principality of Zeon, it naturally had its own MS to rival it—although it did not appear on the battlefield until nearly half a year later.

And the one Eli was driving was the Earth Federation's new MS, the Land Combat Gundam!

The name Gundam comes from another legendary machine, which we will not discuss for now.

And now, this land-based Gundam with the word "06" printed on its left shoulder armor was half-crouching. Under the cover of the dense forest, it slowly raised its weapon and placed it on the shield inserted into the ground as a stabilizing mechanism.

It was a 180mm cannon, with a powerful attack capability that could destroy the enemy with one strike.

"boom!"

The roar of artillery fire suddenly broke the silence of the rainforest!

However, this was not an attack made by Eli's machine.

On a hill to the west of Eli's body, another land-based Gundam was carrying a 180mm cannon, with smoke emitting from the muzzle.

It was the Land Combat Gundam that Kallen was piloting.

However, this attack only created a huge crater on the ground and caused no casualties.

The Zaku at the end of the Zaku squadron that Karen was aiming at actually stopped because of a fallen tree in front of it, causing the shell that Karen fired to pass in front of it. The pilot of the Zaku could even see the ripples caused by the high-speed shell cutting through the air.

"Enemy attack!"

A shrill cry suddenly rang out in the communication of the Santa Zaku.

Even though this shot missed, the three Zakus did not dare to be complacent. Instead, they immediately activated the thrusters on their backs and dispersed.

Sure enough, another shell came flying at the next moment!

It was Kallen who relied on the data transmitted by Eli to correct the trajectory and launched another round of artillery fire.

But this time, it hit the target that Kallen was aiming at accurately.

The Zaku was not hit directly in the cockpit, only the left half of its body was hit by the shell.

But even so, the entire steel giant was blown off the ground by the kinetic energy carried by the shell and fell to the side.

Judging from the flying parts and mechanical arms, this Zaku has probably lost its combat effectiveness.

Eli could faintly hear a man shouting, but the sound was not clear and it was difficult to understand what it said.

It's like the sound of a mosquito flapping its wings when flying in the rainforest of Southeast Asia at night. You can know the direction, but you still don't know where it is.

However, the flock of startled birds flying in Kallen's direction exposed her position.

"You can retreat now, Kallen. Leave the rest to me!"

Eli looked at the Zaku he was aiming at and raised the Majella cannon in his hand, and aimed it in the direction of Kallen under the instructions of the captain's machine in front.

Even though this so-called Majella cannon was a field weapon created by the Zeon army by temporarily combining the turret of the Majella tank and the Zaku machine gun, its 175mm caliber still made it quite powerful.

To be on the safe side, it is better to let the friendly forces retreat temporarily.

After confirming that Kallen had evacuated from the other side of the communication cable, Eli no longer hid his presence!

The 180mm cannon in his hand immediately opened fire!
The Zaku, which had stopped in place to aim at the target and had been firmly locked onto by Eli, had its chest front armor pierced in the next instant, and the pilot died on the spot without even saying a word.

The man's tragic cry faintly rang in Eli's ears again.

Eli, who was used to this, was not put off at all.

The binocular monitors of the Land Combat Gundam lit up, and the entire machine stood up from the dense forest.

The camouflage cloth on his body was torn off, and the communication cable was roughly disconnected.

At the same time, the 180mm cannon in his hand had been reloaded, and Eli immediately aimed it in the direction of the last Zaku.

The Zaku holding the bazooka was obviously a veteran. He also confirmed Eli's direction at the first moment, and while making an evasive maneuver, he also fired the bazooka in his hand.

Eli continued to fire with the cannon in his hand.

However, this shot failed to achieve any result due to Zaku's maneuvering movements.

Eli was not upset by this, but instead aimed the front of the machine at the incoming rocket launcher. The Vulcan cannon on his left chest kept firing at the incoming rocket launcher, exploding it in mid-air.

Eli did not stop, and immediately operated the machine to take a few steps forward. He released the cannon in his hand and let it fall to the ground. He bent down to pick up the shield that was inserted into the ground as a bracket, and installed it back on the hanging point of his left arm.

Then he used the right arm of the machine to hold the 100mm machine gun placed beside him, ignited the thrusters behind him, and drove the machine towards the last Zaku.
