Chapter 386 Ignorance
The cold white light fell on Ning Zhe's face, illuminating a jumbled, distorted face like an abstract painting. Feng Yushu was startled. A dark, ferocious shadow ghost subconsciously emerged from behind her, paused for a second, and then silently crawled back under her skirt, curling up again into a round shadow the size of a basketball, because Feng Yushu recognized him.

"Ning Zhe? Is that you? You, you're back?" Feng Yushu stepped forward to shield her daughter behind her, tentatively asking, "There seem to be many ghosts outside..."

"Stop talking nonsense and step on me." Ning Zhe reached out and touched his face, and his messy features disappeared, revealing a young, handsome face with a scholarly air.

Ning Zhe's face flashed by, and in an instant, he reverted to his distorted expression, saying, "Now do as I say."

“Okay.” Feng Yushu nodded obediently, stepped forward and stood next to Ning Zhe, placing her feet, clad in raffia sandals, on his shadow.

The elevator's light source was located at the top of the doorway, and the angle of the vertical light made Ning Zhe's shadow very small. In order to step on his shadow, Feng Yushu walked very close, and the two bodies were almost touching, so close that they could smell each other's breath.

"Who are you trying to kill?" Feng Yushu asked softly, looking at the abstract features on Ning Zhe's face.

"Fenwu." Ning Zhe looked down at the floor, confirming that Feng Yushu had indeed stepped on his shadow. "Come with me."

“Okay.” Feng Yushu turned around and went back into the elevator, pushing her daughter’s wheelchair and following Ning Zhe into the spacious but dimly lit underground parking lot.

The three of them arrived at a cream-colored sedan, which belonged to Feng Yushu. She had been spending her time at the hospital with her daughter, apart from fighting with her husband's relatives over the inheritance. The car had been parked there for a long time without being moved.

Ning Zhe opened the car door, lifted Bai Zhi up by the waist and placed her in the back seat, while Feng Yushu folded up the wheelchair and put it in the trunk before sitting in the driver's seat.

"Aren't you going to sit in the back?" Bai Zhi asked Ning Zhe after fastening her seatbelt.

“I have to sit in the front so your mom can keep stepping on me.” Ning Zhe closed the car door and got into the front passenger seat. Feng Yushu turned around and put her feet on the edge of the passenger seat.

Bai Zhi looked at Ning Zhe, then at her mother, wondering why Ning Zhe wanted her mother to step on him the moment they met.

Looking at Ning Zhe and his shadow silhouette beneath her feet, Feng Yushu asked in confusion, "Is he still alive?"

Back in Yundu, when the two had just left Yanglao Village, Ning Zhe mentioned Fenwu's existence to her. At that time, Ning Zhe told her that if he found clues and successfully identified Fenwu, or unfortunately faced Fenwu head-on... then Ning Zhe would need her to kill Fenwu for him.

Ning Zhe closed his eyes, feeling the sensation of Feng Yushu's toes poking his thigh, and said, "It seems not yet."

“Even Te Rang couldn’t kill him…” Feng Yushu felt somewhat frustrated. She lifted her feet to turn back, but Ning Zhe raised his hand and pressed her down: “Don’t stop unless I tell you to.”

"Okay, okay." Feng Yushu paused for a moment, then obediently put her feet down: "I'll listen to you."

The Serpent God and Terang are already two instant-death rules, so how could they not kill Fenwu?
Ning Zhe thought for a moment, then took out a plain cell phone without a brand logo from his pocket and dialed a number.

A moment later, the call connected, and a soft, charming female voice came from the speaker: "Master, did you call for me?"

Feng Yushu obediently placed her feet on Ning Zhe's thighs without saying a word. She didn't understand much European. Only Bai Zhi in the back row, clutching her skirt, stared wide-eyed in shock.

"Let's play a game," Ning Zhe said. "Can you do that now?"

“As you wish, my master,” Plumeria said softly. “The ghost that Fenwu left at the Anju Home Hotel has been contained. All my time belongs to you, and everything I have is at your disposal.” Ning Zhe’s brows twitched slightly, and he asked, “Tell me about that ghost.”

“Okay.” Plumeria said without any hesitation, “His name is ‘Ignorance,’ meaning infinite nothingness and luminous light.”

“Ignorance will retain a person’s last thought before death and turn it into an obsession. The person’s body and soul will be driven by this obsession, and will repeatedly repeat the last thing they did in life at the place of death.”

“Meilin and I encountered a driver on the highway who rear-ended us, and the car stalled. When Meilin got out of the car to check, she found that he had no vital signs and had been dead for a long time, not because of the rear-end collision.”

“A driver who had long since died was still driving on the highway. Even after a rear-end collision, he did not stop. His body asked us for directions and then walked there. His last thought before he died was to ‘go home.’”

"The same goes for the missing Katya. Even though she was already dead, she insisted that a blind masseur massage her corpse..."

In a gentle voice, Plumeria told Ning Zhe all the information about the vengeful spirit named "Wuming," and concluded by saying, "He was eventually taken in by Julius Gulveg of the Golden Clan and imprisoned in the mirror world of Xizhao."

"Is that so..." Ning Zhe held his phone in his right hand and gently pinched his aunt's fair ankle with his left, lost in thought.

"Do you still want to play games with me?" Plumeria asked.

“Let’s play.” Ning Zhe stopped thinking and said decisively, “We’ll play this game remotely by phone. You set the rules, and I require you to use every method, every means, all kinds of cheating, both honorable and dishonest, but don’t let me know. You must beat me.”

“…As you wish, my master.” Plumeria paused briefly, then asked, “So, what shall we bet on?”

Ning Zhe stroked the fair and tender skin on Feng Yushu's ankle and said softly, "I'll bet on a ghost."

"...Okay, Master, please give me a few minutes to think about the rules of the game." A series of soft sounds, like fabric rubbing and cups clinking, came from the speaker, indicating that Plumeria had gotten up to get something.

Ning Zhe placed his phone on the phone holder above the dashboard, staring silently at the call screen.

The three people in the car remained silent in tacit agreement. The few minutes that had passed now felt like hours. Feng Yushu looked down at the seat, not daring to look up and look directly at Ning Zhe's face. Two blushes, like cherry blossoms, rose on her fair cheeks.

At the same time, Ning Zhe was looking at her, his distorted features revealing no emotion.

This was the first time the two had met since Ning Zhe returned to China, because Ning Zhe had not dared to or wanted to see her before. After all, Feng Yushu was Bai Fugui's wife, and Bai Zhi was Bai Fugui's daughter. As everyone knows, Bai Fugui was Fenwu, or rather, one of Fenwu's former names.

Ning Zhe couldn't be sure how many tricks or hidden traps Fenwu had left on the mother and daughter, so even after stealing some of the rules of [Tai Sui] from the gambler, he didn't dare to find Feng Yushu and Bai Zhi immediately to examine the part of their memories that had been harmoniously hidden in their minds.

But now, everything is different. He is not afraid that Feng Yushu will suddenly turn against him and kill him, nor is he afraid that Bai Zhi will suddenly turn into a monster that is neither human nor ghost.

Because at this moment, he is Fenwu.
