Chapter 31 Liu Chunzhu Acts Like a Scoundrel

After returning to the village, Jiang Man went to Wang Xiu's house first, intending to share some of the vegetables he had brought back with her.

But when she arrived at Wang Xiu's house, she was stunned.

The door, which was always open, was now tightly shut, isolating everything inside the house.

Shi'ning, run to the village chief's house and fetch him. Remember, the faster you two run, the better, understand?"

Although Shi An and Shi Ning were young, they were well aware of the seriousness of the matter. When they saw Jiang Man's worried eyes, their expressions hardened, and they nodded without hesitation.

Without saying a word, the two turned and ran off in different directions, their small figures darting along the country lanes.

Jiang Man took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Her eyes searched her surroundings anxiously, finally landing on a rake leaning against the wall.

The rake looked somewhat clumsy, but in Jiang Man's eyes at that moment, it was the only hope to open the tightly closed door and find out what was going on inside.

Without thinking, she reached out and gripped it tightly, then used all her strength to smash it against the closed door.

The loud crashing sounds were particularly jarring outside the quiet courtyard, each impact filled with Jiang Man's anxiety and determination.

As she continued to pound on the door, the bolt finally loosened. Jiang Man gritted her teeth and pushed again. The door was flung open with a bang, crashing heavily against the wall before bouncing back. Jiang Man dodged to the side and rushed into the yard.

She grabbed the rake and rushed into the house. As soon as she entered the yard, she saw a man running out of the house in a panic.

Jiang Man looked closely and realized that it was actually her kind stepmother's younger brother—Liu Chunzhu!

Upon hearing this, Jiang Man was furious. She felt a surge of heat rush to her head and, without saying a word, raised the rake in her hand and swung it fiercely at Liu Chunzhu.

The rake whistled through the air, revealing her anger and determination, as if she wanted to smash this shameless scoundrel before her to pieces.

Although Liu Chunzhu was usually uneducated and incompetent, he was still a man and quite agile. He dodged to the side with ease, easily avoiding the fierce attack, and didn't forget to let out a disgusting laugh: "Haha, little brat, you're quite feisty, but with your strength, you can't hurt me."

Just then, Wang Xiu stumbled out of the house. Her hair was disheveled, her face was covered in tears, and her once fair cheeks were now swollen and red, clearly indicating that she had just gone through a struggle.
