Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 306 Let’s get married
Chapter 306 Let’s get married
Around noon, they arrived at the Isle of Wight.
"The scenery is indeed beautiful," Sirius said, opening his arms and taking a deep breath.
It must be admitted that the Isle of Wight is indeed beautiful and perfect for a vacation.
They arrived at a hotel called Yalver, located in a popular area, just an eight-minute walk from the beach, a prime location.
Most importantly, there are two hotels in total—one is open to Muggles, and the other is blocked by a Muggle banishment spell and is only for wizards to stay in.
As wizards, Harry and his companions booked a hotel used by wizards.
From the outside, the hotel doesn't look particularly grand, but once inside, it's a completely different world.
This is a characteristic of wizards; it's the Seamless Stretch Charm, which allows for unlimited use within a limited space.
“You can assign rooms yourselves,” Sirius said, holding a bunch of number plates. “Well… married people can share a room, but as for the unmarried children, as an elder, I don’t recommend that you share a room.”
As he spoke, Sirius's eyes were fixed on the ceiling.
“Okay.” Harry took the number 201 and said to Sirius, “I’ll go up first—201, this is a good room number, I wonder what the view is like.”
Everyone received their own number and happily went to their respective rooms.
The first thing Ron did after entering the room was to unfold a letter and write to Seamus and Neville, who were not there.
The letter praised the scenery of the Isle of Wight and suggested that they come over soon.
Since I'm just idling at home anyway, I might as well come here for a stroll.
After watching Zhu Weiqiong leave the room, Ron knocked on Hermione's door.
"Ron?" Hermione had just changed her clothes, and when she saw Ron, she smiled happily. "Is there something you need?"
"I wanted to chat with you," Ron said with a smile. "Is it convenient?"
“Okay, come in.” Hermione glanced towards the door. “I also have something to tell you—well, what are you waiting for? Is it fun standing outside?”
As for Harry... he went into the room and lay down on the bed immediately.
He sank into the soft, cloud-like bed and didn't want to get up at all.
Ugh, I'm so tired, I should take a nap.
Thinking this, he drifted off to sleep in a daze.
Until Sirius woke him up.
"Get up, Harry," Sirius said, shaking him. "It's time for dinner. Think about it, what should we eat?"
“I don’t know either,” Harry said with a yawn. “What’s good to eat on the Isle of Wight? Anything that’s particularly characteristic of the Isle of Wight?”
"Let's talk outside." Sirius patted Harry on the shoulder and went out first.
They were standing outside when Harry asked, "Where's Newt? I haven't seen them."
“Newt’s already asleep,” Sirius explained with a laugh. “He seemed to have been busy late last night, so he hasn’t had a chance to rest. Apparently, some magical creature in the house—the one from Seris—is causing quite a commotion.”
“Zouwu, right?” Harry said. “I remember that magical creature, it looked a bit like a cat, just much bigger.”
Sirius doesn't know what the Zouwu looks like; if he did, he would definitely complain.
You call that "just a few sizes bigger"?
"So, have you decided what to eat?" Sirius asked. "Hermione just told me that she did a lot of research on recommendations on the Isle of Wight, and there's a restaurant called 'Little Gloster' that's pretty good. They're famous for their oysters and Danish meatballs."
“Oysters…” Harry suddenly remembered a short story by Maupassant that he had once read, in which the protagonist watched noblewomen eating oysters on a ship, a scene he still remembered to this day.
I read this novel a long time ago, when Maupassant was supposedly still alive.
That's not entirely wrong. After all, Harry was in second grade when he read the novel, while Maupassant died in 1893—if Harry hadn't traveled back a century, he would have been in seventh grade in 1893.
“Or we could go to Royal China,” Sirius suggested again. “It’s supposedly a pretty famous Chinese restaurant. We should try something different, shouldn’t we?”
“Chinese food is fine too.” Harry became interested. “I happen to have some knowledge of Chinese cuisine.”
That's true. A hundred years ago, Harry's professor of Magical Creatures Protection was Professor Hao Ying from the Ming Dynasty.
Oh right, although Seres was the Qing Dynasty at that time, Professor Haoying always emphasized that she was not a Qing Dynasty person, but a Ming Dynasty person.
Harry didn't quite understand the difference either; weren't they both Seris?
“I want to eat Chinese food too!” Hermione suddenly appeared beside them. “Ron wants to eat too, doesn’t he? Ron?”
“Oh, I do want some too.” Ron’s tone was clearly devoid of any emotion.
If you're being threatened, blink, Ron!
Dinner doesn't necessarily have to be eaten together; everyone can choose their favorite restaurant.
But they still had to appear to blend in with the Muggles and not seem too out of place, so they walked into the Chinese restaurant in a large group.
Fortunately, there are some fairly large private rooms inside.
“Let’s order.” Harry confidently took the menu. “I’m not kidding, I’ve eaten a lot of delicious Chinese food, like…”
He lowered his head.
No, what the hell is this General Tso's Chicken?
What exactly is this orange chicken?
After a long and confusing selection, he finally ordered Kung Pao Chicken, which was one of the more familiar dishes he had eaten at Professor Haoying's restaurant.
“Eat more,” Sirius said with a grin. “After all, it’s a new experience—by the way, I remember Cedric’s girlfriend is a Seres, right?”
“Yes,” Cedric’s face suddenly turned red, “her name is Cho Chang, from Ravenclaw.”
“Oh~” Sirius gave a meaningful “oh”, “A girl from Ravenclaw—well, back when I was in school, I got along well with the girls in Ravenclaw.”
That's really good. It's just that nobody here knows Sirius Black's background, otherwise they would definitely expose everything to him.
Sirius Black's infatuated girls are mostly from Ravenclaw.
The dishes were served quickly. Harry only took a few bites and thought that although the dishes were not quite the same as those made by Professor Hao Ying, they were still very good.
The sweet and sour General Tso's Chicken, in particular, is really delicious.
“Zuo Zongtang, that must be a person’s name, right?” Harry said, sucking on his chopsticks. “Why is it called Zuo Zongtang Chicken? Did he invent this dish?” “Probably not,” said Hermione, the know-it-all. “As far as I know, Zuo Zongtang was a general in Seres. I don’t know why it would be named after him.”
After the meal, the group left the restaurant and returned to the hotel.
They sat down in the lobby on the second floor, having booked the entire second floor, so the lobby naturally became theirs to use.
"I'm going to get something good." Mr. Granger walked back to his room mysteriously, and came back a little while later, carrying a colorful little box.
"What is this?" Sirius asked, intrigued.
“Good stuff.” Mr. Granger smiled and took the knife to open the box.
The children gathered around with interest and saw that the box had the words "Romeo Y Julieta" written on it.
"Romeo and Juliet?" Hermione's eyes lit up. "Is this a novel? Or some new product?"
“It seems even the know-it-all has her off days,” Mr. Granger chuckled, patting the box and teasing his daughter. “This is a nice little thing from 'TPLAC's'.”
“TPLAC?” Ron asked, puzzled.
“Tin Pot Little Atlantic County’s short for a small island nation in the Atlantic,” Hermione explained without turning around. “I know what it is now—a cigar!”
“Yes.” Mr. Granger opened the box, revealing the cigars inside, which, in addition to the brand name label, also had a gold label printed with 'Churchills'.
“Churchill’s favorite,” Mr. Granger said, taking out a cigar and handing one to each of the adult men who were smoking.
Sirius Black, a seasoned smoker himself, took the cigar and asked Mr. Granger, "How do you smoke this? Do you just put it in your mouth?"
As he spoke, he put the cigar in his mouth.
“You know what,” Hermione suddenly said, “it really does look a bit like Churchill if Sirius were a bit chubby.”
“Really?” Sirius was still a little smug. “I know Churchill—the Prime Minister of the Muggles, right? Someone even more powerful than the Minister of Magic… well, a very famous politician.”
“Looks like you’ll soon be the Churchill of the wizarding world,” Hermione said sarcastically. “Oh, I mean, from every angle—whether it’s drinking whiskey every morning or smoking one of these long cigars.”
“Oh, you can’t call it whiskey,” Sirius Black raised an eyebrow humorously. “It’s just the cure for my autism—”
Hermione rolled her eyes and ignored him.
The children didn't find secondhand smoke interesting, and they left the group of smoking adults behind, returning to their rooms.
Pappy suddenly appeared and followed Harry back to his room.
"How did you get here?" Harry asked curiously.
“I just wanted to see what you were up to when you got back to your room.” Papi looked him around and asked, “So, are you planning to lie in bed and take a nap?”
"You found out." Harry wasn't embarrassed at all.
"You've forgotten the most important thing!" Papbi said, hands on her hips. "Don't you think your most pressing matter right now is to call Vivi?"
You know what, that makes a lot of sense, and Harry thinks this advice is definitely worth taking.
“It’s definitely correct.” He nodded immediately, took out the crystal ball, and dialed Vivi’s number.
Pappy shrank back and quietly slipped out of Harry's room.
She didn't intend to stay here as a third wheel; otherwise, if Vivi saw her there, things might get complicated if she said something.
A short while later, Vivi answered the phone.
"Harry?" Her expression was weary. "You've arrived at the Isle of Wight?"
“Yes,” Harry nodded. “I arrived in the afternoon and just had lunch outside. Sirius and the others were smoking outside, so I came back to call you.”
"Oh." Vivi rubbed her temples. "How long are you planning to stay on the Isle of Wight? Or are you going back in a few days?"
“I’ll be here all summer, it’s not expensive anyway,” Harry said with a grin. “Will you come? Papiyas and Cassandra miss you.”
“I’ll come,” Vivi said with a smile, “but—you said Cass misses me? Really?”
“Of course it’s true,” Harry said with a smile. “Don’t let her usual demeanor fool you, she actually… well, she quite likes you.”
Vivi couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.
“Harry, you really don’t lie at all,” Vivi said helplessly. “Cassandra would love for me to disappear from this world right now, so how could she possibly miss me? Or rather, what you said is true in some situations; she does miss me, but maybe she just wants me to disappear quickly—”
“Don’t think the worst of your good friend, Vivi,” Harry said seriously. “You are both my wings, and I don’t want you two to fight…”
“Heh…” Vivi’s smile suddenly softened.
Harry shuddered.
He knew that Vivi was angry.
“Of course, you’re the most important one,” he quickly added, “You’re my dearest…”
The following is a list of ten thousand words of cheesy romantic talk.
“Alright.” Vivi’s smile reached her eyes. “Of course I believe you, Harry—well, let’s get married.”
"Marriage?" Harry's mind went blank for a moment.
He hadn't really thought about it yet; marriage seemed a long way off for him.
That makes sense, considering he was just a sixth-grade student before he transmigrated, and started from first grade again after transmigrating. Marriage is indeed a long way off for him.
"What, you're unwilling?" Vivi narrowed her eyes. "Or are you planning to marry someone else?"
“Oh no,” Harry explained immediately. “It’s just that I haven’t graduated yet, so getting married is a bit too early for me, isn’t it?”
“That’s something I hadn’t considered, but you’re right.” Vivi agreed with Harry. “Alright, let’s talk about this after you graduate.”
For some reason, Harry secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
This topic is old and quite heavy.
Getting married is definitely something that should be on the agenda, but the problem is, Harry doesn't know how to get married!
It's not that he doesn't know the procedures, but rather... who he should marry and how the marriage should be arranged.
