Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 308 The New Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor
Chapter 308 The New Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor
Cassandra was truly helpless against Vivi's Versailles.
Who can blame them when their aunt was an empress? The empress of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, whose capital was Vienna, the world's art center.
No matter how powerful the Malfoy family was in the wizarding world back then, it was only limited to one corner of the wizarding world. It wouldn't be very effective in the Muggle world.
After all, Cassandra only knew that old grandmother back then, unlike Vivi who could follow her around as a lady-in-waiting.
Don't underestimate the wizards' pursuit of Muggle social status. Although pure-blood wizards may seem to look down on Muggles, the Malfoy ancestors did pursue the Queen.
"Let's go eat," Harry quickly suggested, interrupting the increasingly bright spark between the two.
He wasn't afraid that the two of them would fight, but rather that he was afraid that if they did, he would be affected.
Good, good, what a scumbag!
Harry certainly didn't think of himself as a jerk; he just really wanted to eat the oysters and Danish meatballs from that restaurant.
Come to think of it, he's never tried Danish cuisine before.
“I didn’t say I wasn’t leaving,” Cassandra said, head held high.
Vivi smiled faintly, but didn't say anything.
She now feels that teasing Cassandra is actually quite fun.
I have to say, this feeling is quite addictive.
“I’ll go call Papiyas,” Harry said, glancing worriedly at Vivi and then at Cassandra. “You two stay here and behave yourselves, and whatever you do, don’t fight!”
"Are you treating me like a child?" Cassandra asked, displeased. "Fight? With Grindelwald, that strong woman? Ha, I'm not going to make a fool of myself..."
Wei Zhuangzhuang didn't say anything, but just smiled gently at Cassandra.
“I’ll go with you,” Cassandra said, quickly getting up.
Cassandra had been feeling uneasy ever since she saw Vivi's smile.
What if this wicked woman does something to me while Harry's away? What should I do?
It would be better to go out with Harry.
“Alright.” Harry nodded, relieved. “Let’s go out together, we’re going out to eat anyway.”
The three of them left the room and went to Papiyas's room.
Just as she was about to knock on the door, Cassandra suddenly sensed that something was wrong.
“Wait!” Cassandra turned around sternly. “Something’s not right, something’s very wrong—Grindelwald, where are you staying? I don’t remember checking into this hotel.”
This was such an important issue that Cassandra dared not take it lightly.
If she weren't here, that would be fine, but she's in the hotel right now. If Grindelwald manages to take advantage of her, then her trip would have been for nothing.
“Oh.” Vivi nodded, making no attempt to hide anything. “I’m staying in Harry’s room. I haven’t had a chance to book a room yet—besides, I’m Harry’s girlfriend, so there’s nothing wrong with sharing a room with him, right?”
"You're Harry's girlfriend?" Cassandra scoffed. "Then what am I? Harry? You tell me!"
I said?
Harry's heart skipped a beat.
However, he was a seasoned veteran who had seen it all.
At this moment, Harry remained calm and composed, showing no sign of panic.
“You’re my girlfriend too, Casey,” Harry said calmly. “If you’d like, you can come into my room. After all, you know my room is quite big, enough for the three of us.”
That makes sense; Harry's room is a suite with four beds, enough for them to sleep in.
"Who wants it..."
Cassandra instinctively wanted to refuse, but then she suddenly remembered that if she refused, Grindelwald would definitely take advantage of the situation.
No, we absolutely cannot let Grindelwald take advantage of this!
Cassandra immediately said, "In that case... I'll stay in this room with you too... Hmm, four beds, that's enough for us to sleep in."
As she spoke, she added, "I'm only keeping an eye on that shameless woman Grindelwald, Harry. I need to watch her and make sure she doesn't do anything too outrageous."
"Oh?" Vivi suddenly stepped forward, placed a hand on Cassandra's shoulder, pressed her forehead against Cassandra's, and asked softly, "So, what do you think I would do that would go too far?"
"Who knows you?" Cassandra broke free from Vizhuangzhuang's grasp, snorted, and said, "Alright, let's call Papiyas out to eat together first."
Harry then knocked on the door, and it was quickly opened.
"Oh?" Papiyas glanced at Vivi, then at Cassandra. "What's going on here? When did Vivi get here? I didn't know."
“Last night,” Cassandra said, arms crossed, “that shameless woman actually slept in Harry’s room… Papiyas, you better watch out, keep a close eye on her, and don’t let her do anything that would cause a bad reputation!”
“Okay, sure,” Papiyas nodded quickly. “I’ll keep an eye on her, don’t worry, Cassandra!”
However, when Papbi said this, he was clearly looking at Vivi's expression with some guilt. After seeing that Vivi was not unhappy, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Let’s go eat,” Vivi suggested. “I’m a little hungry. Harry said there’s a nice restaurant on the Isle of Wight with great oysters and Danish meatballs. Why don’t we go together?”
"Yay!" Pappy said happily. "I want to eat meatballs too! Oh dear, last night's lunch was really not very good—not even half as good as what Teacher Haoying makes!"
“Professor Haoying makes authentic Chinese food,” Cassandra said, shaking her head. “The Chinese food here is all modified to suit local tastes and has lost its original flavor.”
"Really?" Papbi asked suspiciously.
“Of course,” Cassandra sighed. “Why would I lie to you?”
“Oh.” Papiyas nodded. “Alright then—let’s hurry up and go now, we’re starving.” The four of them left the hotel and headed towards the restaurant.
The restaurant is called "Little Gloster" and is said to be very famous locally. When Harry and his three friends arrived there, they found that they had to wait in line to eat.
“Let’s wait a bit,” Papby said. “We’re already here, so a little longer won’t hurt—there’s a rule of thumb that if there’s a line at a shop, the food is bound to be good.”
“That’s true,” Cassandra nodded. “If you’re not very hungry yet, you can indeed wait a little while.”
“Let’s wait a bit then,” Vivi nodded. “Let’s go sit over there for a while; it’s really silly standing here.”
They waited for about twenty minutes before they finally got a turn.
It was quite a coincidence that the people who came out of there were the Malfoy family and Sirius Black.
"Oh, Harry?" Sirius Black's eyes flashed with admiration when he saw his godson dining with three women at the same time.
This brat...
It can truly be said that the student has surpassed the teacher...
I, as his godfather, taught him how to interact with girls, and the result was that this kid was able to be with three girls at the same time without them fighting...
It must be admitted that this guy does indeed possess some kind of talent.
But Sirius forgot that these three girls had all made considerable sacrifices for Harry in some way.
One Animagus, practicing magic, went astray and lost his body, becoming a unicorn that wandered the Forbidden Forest for over a hundred years; another was sealed in Merlin's Chamber of Secrets, racing against death in his dreams for a hundred years; and yet another threw his physical body into Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, his soul embedded in a portrait in the Room of the Map for a hundred years.
Damn it, Harry!
"Have you finished eating?" Harry asked, glancing at the Malfoys and then at Sirius.
“Yes, we’ve finished eating,” Sirius said. “We heard yesterday that the food here was delicious, so we decided to come here together for a bite to eat… Also, Lucius has some things to discuss with me in detail.”
Harry knew that it must have been after Sirius Black was imprisoned, Regulus died, and the Black family line was nearly wiped out, that those pure-blood families rushed in to divide up the Black family.
Lucius is now probably planning to return the things he took to Sirius.
However, it seems that Sirius didn't hold a grudge against Lucius because of this, after all, his wife Narcissa was also a Black, so it's always better to keep the good stuff in the family.
But other families may not have it so easy.
"Then you guys go in first, we won't disturb your meal." Sirius waved to them. "By the way, I heard from Lucius that Fudge is going to make some moves, so you'd better be careful."
“Really?” Harry raised an eyebrow and asked. “We’ll talk about this in more detail when we get back.”
After saying goodbye to the Lucius family, the group entered the restaurant and found a private room.
The restaurant wasn't serving food quickly, and the group didn't plan to chat before the food arrived.
After all the ordered dishes were served, Vivi casually cast a Muggle banishing spell at the door.
“I seem to recall what Sirius just mentioned.” Vivi rubbed her temples. “But the Ministry of Magic has been so busy lately that I completely forgot about it…”
"What is it?" Harry asked.
“It’s about Fudge’s next move.” Vivi sighed. “I don’t really understand why Fudge would do this. As far as I know, he wants to take control of Hogwarts and oust Dumbledore from his position as headmaster through some means.”
Upon hearing Vivi's words, the three exchanged bewildered glances.
"No, is he crazy?" Harry couldn't hold back any longer.
Even those who have the worst opinions about Dumbledore have to admit that he is indeed the best headmaster at Hogwarts in the last hundred years.
He was not only the leader who led Hogwarts in resisting Voldemort during the darkest times, but also a beacon in people's hearts.
It can be said that as long as Dumbledore was around, everyone had hope of resisting Voldemort.
Now, you actually want to remove Dumbledore from his position as headmaster?
No, how many dishes were there? How did you get so drunk?
“If people knew what he was really thinking, he wouldn’t be Fudge.” Vivi couldn’t help but chuckle and looked up to say, “But then again, this is indeed something to be careful about. Fudge also has a group of ambitious people under his command who are not content with their lot… Besides, he’s also certain that Dumbledore is a gentleman. A gentleman can be deceived by his principles. If he only suppresses Dumbledore openly, there might not be any good solutions.”
"Then why would anyone believe Fudge's nonsense?" Papiya asked, bewildered.
“You don’t understand,” Vivi said with a smile. “Not everyone is sober. Some people are even more unwilling to accept the news that Voldemort has returned. They would rather be an ostrich than accept this fact. It’s ridiculous.”
“Then what’s the point of living?” Papiyas slumped on the table, poking at the oysters on her plate with her fork. “Merlin, I just can’t understand these people. What about you?”
“We don’t understand it either.” Cassandra forked a meatball and put it in her mouth. “But the world is so big, there are bound to be some oddballs, don’t you think?”
That's true. As the saying goes, "A large forest has all kinds of birds," which is exactly the point.
“Of course,” Harry said, “sometimes you can’t blame them. After all, Fudge is the current Minister of Magic, and he has a lot of influence—some wizards always prefer to believe the Ministry of Magic’s information.”
“The first law of politics,” Cassandra swallowed a meatball, “is that only news that is officially denied is credible… haha.”
Yes, she learned that phrase from a TV series.
Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – Yes, Minister.
“So what does he plan to do?” Harry asked Vivi again. “Besides using his mouthpieces to spread rumors about Dumbledore and deny that Voldemort has returned, what else can he do?”
“He must be installing his cronies at Hogwarts, right?” Vivi said softly. “There’s still a vacancy for the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor position at Hogwarts. I don’t think Alastor Moody will continue to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor after this incident, so… if nothing unexpected happens, he will definitely install his cronies at Hogwarts as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.”
"Huh?" Papiyas suddenly said, "Isn't Cassandra applying to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts?"
“If nothing unexpected happens, Cassandra’s application will not be successful,” Vivi said with a slight smile. “After all, this course involves a curse of dark magic, and this curse was cast by Voldemort… Voldemort’s curse power at his peak should be no less than that of Lanlock. I think… even if Cass wanted to apply for the professorship of this course, I would not agree.”
