Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 367 Umbridge's Doom
Chapter 367 Umbridge's Doom
Valentine's Day passed quickly, and Harry was still feeling a little unsatisfied.
When he returned to school, he was still savoring the delicious Valentine's Day chocolate.
In the Great Hall, students chatted in small groups. Harry noticed that Ron and Hermione were sitting on the benches, looking much closer than before he left.
"Hey, you two!" Harry suddenly poked his head between their shoulders, startling them. "What are you two doing sneakily?"
"No, it's nothing," Ron quickly waved his hand.
“I feel like…” Harry sniffed, like a puppy, “there’s a really sour smell here?”
"Sour and smelly?" Ron was stunned.
“You’re mistaken, Harry,” Hermione said calmly. “You should know that we are both Hogwarts—no, Gryffindor—prefects, so it’s perfectly reasonable for us to talk about work, isn’t it?”
“Oh~” Harry said meaningfully, “Prefects—prefects, male and female…”
He even emphasized the word "class monitor" when he said it.
Just when Hermione was about to give up, Luna's ethereal voice suddenly rang out.
The two of them breathed a sigh of relief.
call……
“Harry?” Luna handed over a brown bag. “Look at this.”
Harry noticed that this thing... looked like a book?
He took the thing, tore open the brown outer packaging, and out rolled out a tightly rolled February issue of "Sing the Quibbles".
"Should we sing a different tune?" he asked.
“Yes,” Luna said with a smile, one eye on Harry, the other on Hermione and Ron. “The Quibbler is my dad’s magazine—I think I told you that?”
“Yes, I remember now.” Harry nodded, unfolded it, and inside was Sirius Black’s smiling face, very handsome and dashing.
The photo bears a line of large red text: "Chief Black believed Fudge was incompetent, which led to the prisoner's escape."
“I can tell.” Harry glanced at the magazine and said to Luna with a smile, “It seems that there are still media outlets in the British wizarding world that dare to speak the truth, such as The Quibbler.”
Luna was quite happy to be recognized by Harry.
“Well,” Luna said to Harry, “my dad wants to interview you… well, you know, he heard what you saw at the Triwizard Tournament, and he wants to get to the bottom of it.”
“No problem, Luna,” Harry said. “You can schedule a time with Mr. Lovegood. I’m available anytime.”
The following weekend, Harry successfully met with Mr. Lovegood.
They met in the Hog's Head pub. When Harry walked in, there was only one person inside. The person was cross-eyed, with cotton candy-like white hair that fell over his shoulders, and the tassels on his hat hanging down to his nose. He was wearing a bright yellow robe, the color of which was dazzling and eye-catching.
He wore a gold chain around his neck with a strange symbol flashing on it, which looked like a triangular eye.
Harry had seen the symbol of the Deathly Hallows more than once; Vivi had also tried to find the Deathly Hallows back then.
“Hello, Mr. Potter.” The man stood up. “Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler magazine.”
“Hello, Mr. Lovegood.” Harry shook Mr. Lovegood’s hand, and the two sat down facing each other.
He raised his hand and said to Aberforth at the bar, "Aberforth—I need a butterbeer here."
Aberforth glanced at him, then turned and went inside.
“Mr. Potter,” Xenophilius sipped his coffee and asked Harry, “you know, my daughter Luna—in Ravenclaw, she told me some things, like you saw the Dark Lord return, right?”
“Yes, Mr. Lovegood.” Harry nodded seriously. “More than once. The first time was when I was a freshman, in 1991, when Voldemort possessed Quirrell, on the back of his head.”
“Wait!” Mr. Lovegood’s eyes lit up. “The back of someone’s head? Who are you… uh, Voldemort stuck to the back of someone’s head? That’s interesting news…”
“Yes.” Ha used his Transfiguration to conjure paper and pen and roughly sketched a draft for Mr. Lovegood. “Here, this is it, Mr. Lovegood.”
Lovegood picked up the paper, smacked his lips, and it was hard to tell whether he was sighing with emotion or feeling regretful.
"It's truly unexpected that the Dark Lord would do something like this," Mr. Lovegood remarked, then picked up his pen again and began drawing on the sketch.
After finishing his note-taking, he looked up again and said, "Please continue, Mr. Potter—"
“In my second year, Voldemort himself didn’t return, but I saw his Horcrux,” Harry said. “It was a diary, still using his Muggle name—Tom Riddle.”
“Wait!” Xenophilius Lovegood’s eyes lit up. “You mean—Riddle? I don’t recall any pure-blood wizards having that surname—Mr. Potter, believe me, I know all the pure-blood families in the world, but Riddle isn’t one of them!”
“Oh,” Harry shrugged. “He was half-blood. His mother fell in love with a Muggle and then used a love potion to force him to commit adultery, resulting in the birth of Voldemort.”
Mr. Lovegood's eyes lit up even more when he heard this gossip.
Holy crap, is there any gossip more explosive than this?
A dark wizard who worships pure blood is actually a half-blood?
This is absolutely explosive! This news is fucking explosive!
Determined to make a big splash, Mr. Lovegood continued, "Anything else, Mr. Potter? Like the Triwizard Tournament..."
“Yes, the Triwizard Tournament.” Harry nodded and said, “Voldemort turned the Triwizard Cup into a Portkey and teleported me to Riddle House, but I saw through his plot and Professor Dumbledore arrived in time to defeat him.”
Harry didn't say he defeated him, and Dumbledore was clearly very credible.
After all, he was the only person Voldemort feared besides Harry.
rigorous!
“Yes, yes,” Mr. Lovegood stammered as he took notes. “Could you tell me the details, Mr. Potter?”
Harry recounted all the details, which pleased Mr. Lovegood even more.
"Oh, and about the senior investigators at Hogwarts." Harry didn't rush to end the interview, but instead turned his attention to Umbridge.
“The Senior Investigator, I heard Luna mention her,” Mr. Lovegood said. “She said this Senior Investigator wasn’t a qualified Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and I heard you dismissed her, is that right?”
“It started in fifth year classes.” Harry sighed. “You know, I can’t get rid of her completely. She represents the Ministry of Magic, and the Ministry wants to control Hogwarts through her… well, something like that.”
Harry then recounted to Mr. Lovegood in detail all the outrageous things Umbridge had done during this time.
“I understand, I understand,” Mr. Lovegood nodded solemnly. “I will report it word for word.”
After the interview, Mr. Lovegood shook Harry's hand.
The next day, Luna sent over the February supplement of "Singing the Divergent".
"Mr. Lovegood is quick on his feet." Harry smiled as he took the magazine, which featured a large portrait of himself, looking very handsome and sunny.
Below is a line of smaller print: Harry Potter reveals the truth: He witnessed Voldemort's return three times and exposed the true face of the senior investigator.
"Wow." Hermione exclaimed in surprise, waving the magazine around as she stood up and looked at Luna. "Her father is a competent journalist, isn't he?"
“I think so too,” Ron nodded in agreement. “He’s a respectable person.”
The magazine quickly spread throughout Hogwarts, with students ordering it from Luna in droves. Reading *The Quibbler* became a new trend at Hogwarts. It was a must-try.
At the same time, they also shared the magazine with parents, so that they could see what Umbridge had been doing recently and recognize its reactionary nature.
However, Umbridge also acted quickly.
In less than two days, huge notices were posted all over the school, not only on the college bulletin board, but also in the corridors and classrooms.
Hogwarts Senior Investigator Order
Any student found in possession of the magazine "Sing the Quibbles" will be immediately expelled.
The above regulations are in accordance with Education Order No. 27.
Signature: Senior Investigator Dolores Jane Umbridge.
The teachers were, of course, forbidden from mentioning this interview by Education Order No. 26, but they still expressed their feelings in various ways.
When Harry handed Professor Sprout a watering can, she added twenty points to Gryffindor's score.
At the end of Charms class, Professor Flitwick chuckled and handed Harry a box of squeaky candy mice, said "Shh!" and hurried away.
Professor Trelawney broke down in tears during Divination class, announcing to the astonished students and the greatly displeased Umbridge that Harry would not die young, but was destined for a long life, would become Minister for Magic in Europe, and would have sixteen children.
"Vivi's going to suffer a lot," Hermione muttered to herself when she heard the news.
Trelawney's actions provoked Umbridge's revenge.
She can't afford to mess with others, but Professor Trelawney is an easy target.
"Harry! Come quick! Something's happened!"
While Harry was taking an afternoon nap, Ron suddenly burst into his bedroom and shook him awake.
Harry followed Ron outside in a daze, putting on his clothes as he went, and joined the stream of students running outside.
Students who had finished class rushed outside to see what had happened, and many people crowded onto the marble staircase.
Harry and Ron squeezed through a group of tall Slytherin students and saw a large circle of onlookers, some of whom looked shocked, and some even looked terrified.
Professor McGonagall was sitting right across from Harry, and she seemed quite upset about what was happening.
Professor Trelawney stood in the middle of the foyer, wand in one hand and an empty bottle in the other, looking completely insane.
Her hair was loose, and her glasses were askew, making one eye appear much larger than the other.
Her countless scarves and shawls hung haphazardly, giving the impression that she was dressed in tattered clothes. Next to her were two large trunks, one upside down, as if it had been thrown down the stairs.
Professor Trelawney stared at something at the bottom of the stairs with a look of fear on her face.
"No!" she screamed. "No! This can't happen...it can't be...I refuse to accept it!"
"You didn't expect this?" a high-pitched, girlish voice said, seemingly amused.
Harry shifted to the right and saw that the terrifying thing in Trelawney's eyes was Professor Umbridge.
"Even though you can't predict tomorrow's weather, you should at least realize that your poor performance during my lectures and your lack of improvement afterward will inevitably lead to your dismissal, right?"
“You—you can’t!” Professor Trelawney cried, tears streaming from behind her large glasses. “You—you can’t fire me! I’ve been here—I’ve been here for sixteen years! Hogwarts is my…my home!”
“It used to be your home,” Professor Umbridge said.
Harry felt a wave of nausea when he saw Professor Trelawney slumped onto a box, sobbing uncontrollably, a smug grin spreading across her toad-like face.
“Until an hour ago, the Minister of Magic signed your dismissal order—now please leave the hall, you’ve embarrassed us.”
But she stood there, watching with glee as Professor Trelawney trembled and sobbed, swaying back and forth on the box with each wave of grief.
Harry heard a sob on his left, turned around, and saw Lavender and Parvati hugging each other and crying silently.
He felt he had to step forward now—because Professor Trelawney was being retaliated against by Umbridge because of him.
“That’s against the rules, Umbridge.”
Harry said, pushing his way through the crowd.
"Good job, Harry!" The students behind him cheered.
"Harry! Pay attention!" Draco chimed in.
Upon seeing that it was Harry, Umbridge's face lit up with a triumphant expression.
“Oh, it’s Potter.” She said with a forced smile. “It seems you really enjoy the feeling of badmouthing the professor, and you really enjoy badmouthing high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Magic—I suppose…”
“Shut the fuck up,” Harry cursed. “You’re just Fudge’s lackey. What right do you have to tell Hogwarts what to do? Go to hell!”
Umbridge clearly didn't expect Harry to openly break ties with her and even insult her with foul language.
Harry also had something to say: "I've cursed Voldemort, what's a little more than you?"
“You’re just a Hogwarts student—” Umbridge’s triangular eyes drooped at this point, “Oh, I forgot, the Ministry of Magic also issued an expulsion order for you, so you’re no longer a Hogwarts student.”
"A pink toad, does it really think it's the headmaster of Hogwarts?" Harry said with a sneer.
"See that, students?" Umbridge, maintaining his signature fake smile, glanced around at the students. "I think Mr. Potter's actions give me reason to doubt your loyalty to Hogwarts—or perhaps you've already been planning to run off with your girlfriend, Grindelwald, haven't you? What an wicked surname..."
Harry drew his wand and took a step forward.
Umbridge was startled by Harry and took a step back.
He didn't use any spells on Umbridge, but instead pressed his wand against his own throat and cast an amplification spell.
"I'd like to ask Madam Umbridge, what have you done to dare question my loyalty to Hogwarts!"
He took another step forward.
"I brought glory to Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament!"
Harry turned around to face his classmates.
The students who were watching cheered and raised their arms.
"I thwarted Voldemort's plots three times at this school!"
Harry held up one finger and pointed at himself.
The cheers from the students grew even louder, especially from the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students, who stretched their necks and shouted for Harry with veins bulging.
"My parents also sacrificed their lives on the front lines against Voldemort!"
At this point, Harry turned to Umbridge.
"So now, the question I want to ask Dolores Jane Umbridge is!"
"What the hell have you done to make you think you have the right to question my loyalty to Hogwarts?!"
