Chapter 399 Gellert Grindelwald's Expulsion and Vivi's Furious
Chapter 399 Gellert Grindelwald's Expulsion and Vivi's Furious
“I know!” Lavender said, head bowed.
Mr. Brown, exasperated, pointed at Lavender and said, "Do you know why you're running off again? Huh?"
Simo, standing to the side, didn't know what to say either, so he could only chime in whenever he could.
“Well, we didn’t do anything, Mr. Brown…”
"Shut up!" Mr. Brown turned around and glared at him.
“Mr. Brown…” Seamus still tried to struggle.
"Don't speak!" Mr. Brown stood up angrily and said, "You're an educated man, how could you come out in Yolavend at this crucial moment? And in the ice cream shop... How could you do such a thing?"
Simo was furious at being wrongly accused and began to protest, "What did I do? I didn't do anything..."
"You ate it without doing anything?" Mr. Brown retorted.
“Dad, I came here of my own accord!” Lavender said, trying to save Simo from his predicament.
“No one can come!” Mr. Brown interrupted Lavender. “Believe me or not, I’ll break your legs!”
He pointed at Lavender in a fit of rage: "Look at you! Don't you have a heart? Your grandmother is so sick, and you still have the mind to eat here... this ice cream? Your family has been looking for you like crazy. Don't you know how rampant the mysterious man has been lately?"
As he spoke, Mr. Brown picked up a dessert and casually popped it into his mouth.
Seamus's eyes lit up, and he immediately stepped forward to persuade him, "Mr. Brown, you, you sit down and eat."
"What am I supposed to eat!" Mr. Brown shoved the dessert out of his mouth and threw it on the ground, shoving Seamus aside. "Get out of here—"
In the end, Mr. Brown took Lavender away, leaving Seamus standing there dejected.
"Why don't you guys come and help?" he said, somewhat annoyed.
"How can we help you?" Ron asked anxiously. "You make it sound so simple. They are a father and daughter. Besides, I heard from Mr. Brown that Lavender's grandmother is sick. In this situation, it is reasonable for him to let Lavender go home. We are just classmates. How can we interfere?"
“What are we going to do?” Seamus said, head bowed. “Are we just going to watch Lavender get dragged back by Mr. Brown?”
Ron was almost laughing in exasperation.
"No, they are a father and daughter. The father is taking his daughter back home. Are you going to stop him?"
“That’s true.” Seamus thought for a moment and agreed with Ron.
“Take it easy, Seamus,” Neville comforted Seamus. “Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I think you can do it—you just chose the wrong time.”
Simo didn't speak, he just kept drinking water.
The three brothers were at a loss. Since things had already come to this, they decided to eat ice cream first.
I must say, the ice cream at the Flor family's is really delicious, especially the nut crumbs mixed in; Harry, at least, really enjoys it.
"What do we do next?" Ron asked Harry in a low voice, still thinking about the dejected Seamus.
“We need to find something to do, at least to help Seamus forget his pain,” Harry replied in a low voice. “Do you know what kind of entertainment Seamus likes? We can take him to do something.”
"Does an explosion count?" Ron asked.
blasting?
Harry instantly pictured Seamus wielding his wand, creating explosions everywhere.
He shuddered and banished the image from his mind.
This is so damn delightful!
“How about we try a different approach?” Neville whispered. “Why don’t we go to the Browns’ house and bring Lavender out?”
Ron and Harry both looked at Neville, they never expected Neville to be so clever as to come up with such a terrible idea.
Just then, Harry's crystal ball suddenly started ringing.
He took out the crystal ball and discovered that it was Sirius calling.
After the connection was established, a half-body phantom of Sirius appeared on the crystal ball.
“Harry,” Sirius’s voice was urgent, “something’s happened. We’ve found Voldemort. He’s in America, and it seems he’s accompanied by a red dragon. The Magical Congress of America is requesting reinforcements, and Villanelle has already sent Mr. Grindelwald out—”
Look at how they address him, they even sent Mr. Grindelwald out...
Harry paused for a moment before remembering who Mr. Grindelwald was—oh yes, it was Gellert.
Then, he suddenly realized that something was wrong.
"A red fire dragon?" he asked.
“Yes,” Sirius said urgently, “the photos sent by the Magical Congress of America show that it is a fire dragon that is entirely red, with a large scarlet crystal on its head. Veratia told me that this fire dragon is called Lanlock, and it seems to be an enemy that you once fought against?”
Lanlock?
Harry felt his hands suddenly itch.
I haven't heard of that name in a long time.
It was all thanks to Baron Locke that he inexplicably returned to 1991, causing three girls to suffer so much because of him...
We absolutely have to have a good talk with him!
Then he asked, "Wait a minute, Vivi sent Gellert to America? Didn't America put Gellert on its unwelcome list? Will he be able to get in?"
“This is a plea for help from the Magical Congress of the United States to the International Confederation of Wizards. They can’t get rid of Lanlock and Voldemort, nor can they pinpoint their location,” Sirius Black said with a smile. “You know, Mr. Grindelwald has a talent for prophecy. Dumbledore was also troubled by this. Such a talent for prophecy is very helpful in pinpointing the location of Voldemort and Lanlock.”
“I understand,” Harry nodded. “Is there anything I can do?”
“Anyway,” Sirius coughed twice, “I’ll have to stay at the Ministry of Magic for a while now, given what’s happened… Also, Veratia thinks you should be informed about what happened between Lanlock and Voldemort.”
“I need to go to America too,” Harry said.
“You probably can’t go,” Sirius said with some regret. “After all, you need a visa to go to America… Believe me, the Magical Congress of America is the worst organization I’ve ever seen, and you don’t want to get involved in that trouble.”
“Okay,” Harry shrugged. “Anyway, it’s an American problem.”
The two chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.
“So,” Ron asked cautiously, “the Mystic—I mean, Voldemort—has reappeared? He’s back again?”
“Yes.” Harry nodded. “He has seven Horcruxes, which means he can’t die completely yet.”
Ron swallowed hard. “Is there anything I can do for you?” he asked. “Just let me know if you need anything.”
“It’s okay, buddy,” Harry patted Ron on the shoulder and said with a smile, “You heard it too, he’s not a problem for us yet.”
“Oh, right.” Ron grinned. “He’s in America now, right? I just heard that the Magical Congress of America doesn’t seem to really want our help…”
After sitting in Diagon Alley for a while, seeing that it was getting late, they left Florin's ice cream shop and returned to their respective homes.
Ron had originally suggested going back to number twelve Grimmauld Place together, but Seamus wasn't really interested, and Neville also had to go back and report to his grandmother, so Ron didn't insist.
As soon as they got home, they saw Hermione sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for them.
"How are things?" she asked. "Lavender and Simon."
"Don't mention it."
Ron waved his hand, sat down next to Hermione, and gave her a detailed gossip about what had just happened.
Hermione's expression first showed incomprehension, then disdain, and finally a long sigh.
“There’s nothing we can do,” she said. “After all, Lavender’s grandmother is sick, so it’s just bad luck for Simo.”
“Who says otherwise?” Ron agreed.
Harry didn't stay in the living room; he said goodnight to the two of them and went upstairs.
Vivi wasn't in the room—after such a big incident, she should have been back in the Ministry of Magic's office, both morally and logically.
Although she was only the Minister of Magic of the Greater German Ministry, she was still a member of the International Confederation of Wizards.
The International Confederation of Wizards is an intergovernmental organization in the wizarding world, roughly equivalent to the United Nations in the Muggle world.
When talking about this organization, one must mention the enactment of the Wizarding Secrets Act.
The Law of Wizarding Secrecy, officially the Law of the International Confederation of Wizards, was enacted in 1692 by the Confederation to conceal the magical world from the Muggle world.
After weeks of intense discussion, they carefully studied methods to hide the magical world, including how to conceal magical creatures while erasing them from the consciousness of Muggles.
From 1991 to 1995, Dumbledore served as the president of the International Confederation of Wizards. However, due to the British Ministry of Magic's refusal to acknowledge Voldemort's return and Fudge's behind-the-scenes maneuvering, Dumbledore was eventually removed from his position as a member of the Confederation. At the same time, the International Confederation of Wizards also removed Dumbledore from his position as president.
Vivi wasn't there, but Cassandra was reading in Harry's room.
She wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, which made her look elegant and ascetic.
“Cassandra?” Harry said, somewhat surprised.
Cassandra didn't look up, but said to Harry, "I heard that there's going to be an International Wizarding Congress this August, and that woman Grindelwald seems to be running for president of the International Wizarding Congress."
"Can she succeed?" Harry frowned. "She's only nineteen, isn't she? Can the International Confederation of Wizards really elect such a young witch as its president?"
“It’s hard to say,” Cassandra said with a smile. “You should know just how powerful Grindelwald is right now. She only needs to put forward her ideas, and people will naturally vie to help her realize them.”
“That makes sense,” Harry agreed with Cassandra.
Incidentally, Cassandra is also a member of the International Federation of Wizards, which is why she knew that Vivi was preparing to run for office.
As for why Cassandra became a member of the International Federation of Wizards...
The Malfoy family, well, the unseen hand is at work.
He walked over and sat down on the edge of Cassandra's chair quite naturally, then casually put his arm around her waist.
Although her waist isn't as slender as Vivi's, it's still more than enough for the average person.
Is that why you touched someone's leg again?
Vivi's waist, Cassandra's legs, and Papiyas's... cough cough, all of them are Harry's favorites.
“But I think… um…” Cassandra didn’t stop Harry’s actions, but said in a deliberately aloof tone, “Grindelwald may not be able to get what he wants—think about it, she has now annexed the Ministries of Magic of the nine countries and become the Minister of Magic of Greater Germany. If she goes further and officially becomes the President of the International Confederation of Wizards, then who in the wizarding world can go against her will?”
“Power doesn’t come from a title, Cass,” Harry said, taking it all in stride.
To everyone's surprise, Cassandra laughed.
"Of course I know where power comes from! Think about it, in this world, who else but you can stop Grindelwald?"
When Harry thought about it, it did seem to make sense.
Just as only Dumbledore could stop Grindelwald seventy years ago, only Potter can stop Grindelwald now.
The problem is that Dumbledore and Grindelwald had already broken up by then, while Potter and Grindelwald are clearly still in the throes of a passionate romance.
Expecting Potter to deal with Ms. Grindelwald is like hoping the sun will rise in the west on its own.
“If she were to become the president of the International Wizarding Federation…” Cassandra shook her head and sighed with a wry smile.
"The Muggles are going to suffer..." she thought to herself.
But she didn't say it out loud: what does it matter to Miss Malfoy what the Muggles do?
She's not a Muggle.
The next day, everything was business as usual.
Harry kept an eye on the Daily Prophet, the real-time messages Sirius Black sent him, and the chat groups on the Crystal Ball's newly developed chat software.
Unfortunately, there is still no news about Voldemort.
However, on the third day, a major incident occurred.
Gellert Grindelwald was deported from the United States and also attacked.
Harry didn't know the specifics, but he did see the live feed that Gellert uploaded to the group chat—the American wizards didn't even bother to greet him. As soon as they saw that it was Gellert, they pulled out their wands and started casting spells, without any regard for logic.
Vivi was furious upon hearing the news. She immediately decided to head to the United States to teach the Magical Congress of America a lesson.
Gellert fanned the flames, adding fuel to the fire by bringing up his own experience in the United States.
“Sister!” Gellert sighed, head bowed. “I didn’t hold a grudge against them for putting me in prison and cutting out my tongue, and I went to help them—and look how they treated me! They didn’t give me a chance to explain myself before launching a sneak attack and deporting me. Is this how they treat someone who comes to help them? You must know, I’m not just Gellert Grindelwald, I’m also an envoy of the German Ministry of Magic, representing your dignity as Minister of Magic!”
