Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy

Chapter 406: Surely there's at least one you'll like?

Chapter 406 Surely there's one you'll like, right?
Drifting on a boat is a very difficult experience. If the sea is calm, it's alright, but waters like the West Wind Drift can be deadly.

As is well known, there is a very long gap between the Southern Hemisphere continents and Antarctica, where there is no continent.

The wind blows across the sea without any obstruction, reaching force 5 or 6 when it is light, and force 11 or 12 or even higher when it is strong.

The same goes for seawater; it flows without any obstruction and at an extremely fast speed.

It's easy to imagine what the situation was like on the ship.

Fortunately, the Roaring Forties are not very long, since we are not just wandering through them, but passing through them on our way to Antarctica.

After passing the westerly winds, this situation was greatly alleviated.

And Antarctica is just around the corner.

"It's finally over." Neville said, hugging the toilet and looking exhausted. "I don't want to take a boat back! I never want to cross this place by boat again!"

“Don’t worry.” Harry patted Neville on the shoulder. “We’ll use the Portkey when we come back—oh, I see a scallop. Shellfish aren’t exactly friendly to men, are they?”

He was referring to the undigested scallops that Neville vomited up.

"Ugh!" Neville lowered his head and dry-heaved, his face pale.

“I think Professor Snape should research a medicine to cure seasickness.” Draco’s expression was also a little pale, but his physical condition was quite good, so he wasn’t as weak as Neville and Seamus. “What do you think, Harry?”

“How do you expect him to do the research?” Harry raised an eyebrow. “Next time we go on a ship, shall we take Professor Snape with us?”

“Good idea.” Draco’s eyes lit up. “I also want to see how Professor Snape behaves when he boards the ship and crosses the Winds of Forties—whether he’ll end up vomiting into the toilet like Neville.”

Harry looked up and imagined Professor Snape vomiting into the toilet. He thought the scene was breathtaking and absolutely stunning!

"You're quite the good student of Slytherin," he said sarcastically to Draco.

"Thank you for the compliment," Draco said politely, patting his chest in thanks.

In the afternoon, they finally arrived at the Antarctic continent.

Unfortunately, there are no wizards in Antarctica, so they can only temporarily stay at the British research station.

Fortunately, they were wizards and didn't need to worry about such extreme weather, since there was a spell in place.

A curse, isn't that amazing?
However, it is currently the coldest time of year in the Southern Hemisphere.

"I still don't understand why anyone would choose to travel to a place where even birds wouldn't poop."

Cassandra wrapped a thick Slytherin-style scarf around her neck, but she wore 120D grey velvet stockings on her lower body.

As a highly skilled sorceress, she was indeed not afraid of such cold.

“What I need to correct you is,” Vivi always managed to point out Cassandra’s grammatical errors at crucial moments, “this isn’t some godforsaken place. You should know that penguins are birds too, and they live in Antarctica and they defecate here.”

Cassandra opened her mouth, but could only hum in dissatisfaction.

There's nothing we can do; Vivi is right.

“I have a question,” Papi said, pulling on her Hufflepuff scarf. “Where are we planning to stop for the night? What’s our destination? Is it the South Pole? Or somewhere else?”

"Just wander around," Vivi said with a smile. "If you want to go to the South Pole, that's not out of the question. I happen to have a carriage ready."

“A carriage?” Papbi asked with interest. “What are you planning to use to pull the carriage? I remember reading an article about an Englishman named Scott who used ponies to pull his carriage and eventually froze to death in the Antarctic wilderness—while Amundsen survived because he had sled dogs with him.”

Upon hearing Papi's words, everyone shuddered.

“Don’t say such unlucky things,” Harry corrected him.

"Don't worry, it's not a pony or a sled dog," Vivi said with a smile. "You'll find out after we leave here."

The staff at the research station did not notice these wizards. In fact, Vivi had cast some confusion spells before setting off, preventing them from seeing anything related to wizards.

Even when they were about to run into the wizard, they would avoid it due to some coincidences.

After they left the research station, they gathered in an open area.

Everything around was a vast expanse of white, dazzling to the eyes.

“Where’s the carriage?” Cassandra asked.

Vivi took out her wallet, and soon a luxurious carriage appeared in the open space.

In front of the carriage were two giants, each about fifteen feet tall, covered with long, thick white hair.

"A snowman?" Papbi exclaimed. "You actually managed to get a snowman? Good heavens, what a brilliant idea! Using a snowman to pull a carriage... How did you even get them moving?"

"Get in the car first," Vivi called out.

Everyone boarded the bus in order, and as soon as they entered, they felt a warm and cozy sensation.

Magic, isn't it amazing?
The interior of the carriage was not like that of an ordinary carriage with two rows of seats, but rather like a train carriage, with an aisle in the middle and several compartments on both sides.

Neville and Seamus chose a box, Hermione and Ron also chose one, and the rest naturally went to Harry and his friends.

After everyone was seated, Vivi snapped her fingers.

Immediately afterwards, the two snowmen let out a long howl.

“Look.” Vivi lifted the curtain in front of him, and Papi leaned over to take a look. He saw the flames following closely behind the snowman—the flames were kept very close, so they wouldn’t burn the snowman’s fur, but they could still feel the heat of the flames.

Papi opened his mouth wide, and after a long while, he asked in a hoarse voice, "Are you a devil?"

Vivi smiled mysteriously, but said nothing.

As is well known, the Yeti has an ingrained fear of fire, so a skilled wizard can drive it away.

Vivi took advantage of this characteristic to drive them forward.

Yetis are brutal creatures; they attack and devour everything they encounter—but these two are clearly under some harmless little curse.

It's worth mentioning that the Yeti is one of the least secretive creatures in the magical world, which is why there have been numerous Muggle sightings of Yetis.

The most famous account is that of a Lieutenant Colonel named Charles Howard-Berry, who witnessed the incident in 1926. Due to frequent violations of Section 73 of the Secret Code in the Eastern Hittite region, the International Confederation of Wizards was forced to establish a permanent base there and station an international special operations team.

The carriage sped across the Antarctic plateau, surrounded by a vast expanse of white.

Being in a warm carriage while looking out at the snowy landscape is indeed a very novel experience.

Two weeks later, they finally reached the South Pole.

Throughout the journey, Hermione took photos constantly with her camera.

After spending two days at Amundsen-Scott Station, they didn't forget to erase the memories of the American research station staff before setting off again for Vostok Station.

"Isn't this inappropriate?" Hermione asked hesitantly, feeling that it was rather impolite to do so.

“There’s nothing wrong with it,” Vivi said with a smile. “It’s what Americans deserve.”

After spending more than half a month in Antarctica, they reluctantly used their door key to return to the UK.

"It was truly an amazing trip," Hermione said, still somewhat reluctant to leave. "Perhaps...we could go to the Arctic next year?"

"Silly girl," Vivi ruffled Hermione's hair, "Your summer vacation is like summer in the Arctic, nothing beats winter."

In each household, there is a letter from Hogwarts with a list of items to buy for the new school term.

During the last week of summer vacation, they bought things according to the list provided by the school. After everything was ready, they stayed at home and quietly waited for the new semester to begin.

Fortunately, with several house-elves in the house, Harry doesn't need to worry about washing clothes or packing.

But Ron was in trouble; he had to go home and pack his clothes and luggage himself because his parents had taken Ginny out to play again.

“If you ask me,” Harry said, “you should bring your things to my house and let Ruby or Kreacher wash them.”

Upon hearing this, Ron realized that there really was such a way.

So he happily gathered up the pile of dirty clothes and returned to number twelve Grimaud Place.

Having been away for a long time, Vivi had already set off back to Austria upon her return—Cassandra also had her own things to do, and Papiyas was busy taking care of magical creatures with Newt.

Therefore, in Grimmauld Place, only Anne was with Harry.

The day before school started, the Weasleys brought Ginny to number 12 Grimmauld Place. Bill also came, along with a woman he hadn't expected.

Fleur Delacour, a former warrior of Beauxbatons.

"This is my girlfriend," Bill introduced her to everyone in a cool tone.

However, Mrs. Weasley seemed to dislike Fleur very much.

When they arrived, Harry was still sleeping in the house. When he woke up, he bumped into Ron, who was walking into the house.

“I’m warning you, brother,” Ron said, still shaken, “you’d better not go to the kitchen. It’s… well, not a safe place.”

Harry was baffled and didn't understand why Ron said that.

Sure enough, as soon as he entered the kitchen, he saw Fleur sitting at the table, talking incessantly about planning her wedding with Bill.

Mrs. Weasley sat watching a pile of cabbages that were automatically peeling, looking rather annoyed.

"...Bill and I have pretty much decided on just two bridesmaids; Ginny and Gabrielle will look absolutely adorable together. I'm thinking of having them wear pale gold dresses—pink would definitely look terrible with Ginny's hair—"

“Ah, Harry!” Mrs. Weasley exclaimed, interrupting Fleur’s long monologue. “Excellent! I was just about to tell you about the security arrangements for the trip to Hogwarts tomorrow. We’ve borrowed another car from the Ministry of Magic, and there will be Aurors waiting at the station—you know, because of the Void incident in America lately, Sirius… oh, I mean Minister Black has tightened security at the station… and of course, Remus will be there too.”

"Is Tonks there too?" Harry asked curiously. "Are they getting married soon too?"

“No, probably not. Arthur said she’s been relocated,” Mrs. Weasley replied. “As for your question, I can answer it. Remus said they’ll be married by Christmas at the latest.”

“That Tonks, she’s become so unkempt,” Fleur said thoughtfully, looking at her beautiful face through the back of a teaspoon. “If you ask me, it’s a huge mistake—”

“Yes, thank you,” Mrs. Weasley said sharply, interrupting Fleur once again.

Then, there was a brief silence.

Bill quickly tried to lighten the mood, saying, "By the way, Harry, I heard you guys went to Antarctica during the summer vacation? How was it? Was it fun there?"

“It was quite fun,” Harry said with a smile. “You know, when it’s summer in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s winter in the Southern Hemisphere, and it’s very cold in Antarctica… But we’re wizards, so we don’t have to worry about the temperature. However, the journey to Antarctica was really exhausting. The westerly winds were strong and the waves were high. At first, everyone thought it was exciting, but soon everyone was rushing to the toilet to throw up—and later, our way of greeting each other became ‘Did you throw up?’”

Upon hearing Harry's words, Bill burst into laughter.

It was clear that Bill's smile was genuine, considering that Mrs. Weasley had never given him and Fleur a kind look.

Harry didn't know why Mrs. Weasley disliked Fleur so much.

That evening, Annie cleared up his doubts.

“Perhaps Mrs. Weasley thinks Fleur isn’t the type of woman who’s good at domestic life,” Anne said gently. “You see, she’s just too beautiful to be someone who could take care of Bill.”

"Alright then." Harry shrugged. "Thank goodness my mom's not around, otherwise..."

He suddenly choked up at this point.

Yes, if Mom were here, how would she criticize him?

Anyway... I guess there won't be anything like what happened between Mrs. Weasley and Fleur, right?

First of all, Mom definitely wouldn't dislike Vivi—although the two of them are best friends, Vivi met Harry first and then her mother... According to Mom's personality, she might even pat him on the head and say, "Good boy, you actually managed to win over your Aunt Vivi."

Cassandra... well, that's hard to say, really hard to say. The tsundere princess archetype has long since been retired from the meta!
As for Papi, I don't think anyone would dislike this energetic girl.

As for Anne?

Anne is actually quite good at being charming.

“Your mother…” Annie hesitated for a long time before finally saying with a complicated expression, “There should be someone she likes, right?”
