Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 56: The Secret of Qi Luo
Chapter 56: The Secret of Qi Luo (Seeking Follow-up Reading)
The scream was so loud that even the students in the auditorium could hear it clearly.
Justin Finch-Fletchley, the Muggle-born who had been dozing at the Hufflepuff table, snapped his eyes open.
Whose Tom Cat?
Outside the Great Hall, Professor Quirrell repeatedly beat the biting cabbage that was firmly attached to the back of his head with his hands, and his howls of pain echoed throughout the castle.
"Professor Quirrell?"
Professor McGonagall hurried over from a distance, accompanied by Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout.
Seeing the cabbage that was still refusing to let go, Professor Sprout walked over quickly. She didn't know what method she used, but the cabbage obediently let go, twisted its round body, and jumped into her arms.
"Professor Quirrell, are you okay?" Professor Sprout asked with concern, "Do you want to go to the school hospital for a checkup?"
Professor Quirrell, lying in the snow, looked with fear at the biting cabbage still shaking in Professor Sprout's arms, and backed away hurriedly using his hands and feet.
The pain from this thing biting people is secondary. What if I anger that adult...
He shuddered when he thought about how he had cursed Potter's broom on his own initiative during the last Quidditch match, which resulted in him being severely tortured by that adult for several days.
That feeling is really unbearable...
"I... I'm fine... I'm fine." Professor Quirrell said this with blood still oozing from the back of his head.
The bright red blood stained the turban dark red, and even as he spoke, two cloves of bloody garlic fell to the ground.
"I'll go back... to the place... to deal with it first. Sorry." Professor Quirrell stammered, holding the turban on his head tightly, and slipped away in a panic.
Harry noticed Quirrell's abnormal behavior. Logically speaking, even Flobberworm should be angry after being played such a prank by a student. But why was Professor Quirrell's first reaction not to get angry, but to find an excuse to leave?
Could it be that... there really is a shameful secret hidden in this turban of his?
"Mr. Weasley?" Professor McGonagall spotted the twins sneaking towards the hall and walked up to them and asked seriously, "Why are you two here? I don't want to hear that this biting kale is a prank of yours."
"Sorry, Professor." Harry came back to his senses and interrupted, "The pot of biting kale was given to me by Professor Sprout. When I got up today, I found that something was wrong with it, so I thought of taking it to the hall to show it to Professor Sprout."
"Really?" Professor McGonagall looked at Harry appraisingly.
The Weasley twins heaved a sigh of relief in the back and secretly gave Harry a thumbs-up.
This little brother is so loyal!
Harry nodded hurriedly, "Yes, Professor."
"Indeed, Minerva," said Professor Sprout. "I was the one who gave Mr. Potter the kale."
"So what happened to it?" Professor McGonagall asked with a little doubt.
"It's a bit listless," Harry replied.
As soon as Harry finished speaking, the big mouth that was biting the cabbage opened and closed rapidly twice, making a "ah-ah-ah-ah" sound, as if it had not bitten enough.
"You call this listlessness?" Professor McGonagall's eyes became sharp.
For a moment, Professor McGonagall thought she saw James.
Then she pushed James out of her mind. Merlin, how could that be? Mr. Potter was like his mother. How could he be as bad as his father?
It must be an illusion! "I'm sorry, Professor, it really was like this this morning," Harry squeezed out an aggrieved expression, and looked at Professor McGonagall with his green eyes. "It's all my fault. I didn't stand firmly when I walked, fell to the ground and threw the cabbage out. I didn't expect it to..."
Professor McGonagall's heart softened immediately.
Yes, Lily is so kind, how could her child deliberately do something to harm the professor?
It must be an accident!
Her facial expression softened, and she said to Harry, "Since you didn't do this on purpose, I won't impose any additional punishment on you, but Gryffindor will still be deducted ten points because of you."
"As for you two..." Professor McGonagall looked at the Weasley twins.
"Professor, we..." Fred and George tried to argue.
However, Professor McGonagall had seen through everything. She said coldly, "The snowball behind the bush...was it you who made it?"
"Yes, Professor." They both answered in unison.
"You two will be put in detention in my office after the holidays!" Professor McGonagall did not give the twins any chance to question and directly issued the verdict.
"Okay, Professor." The twins lowered their heads together. From an angle that Professor McGonagall couldn't see, a hint of relief flashed across their eyes.
Oh my, I thought I was going to get points deducted, or some other punishment, but I didn't expect it to be just solitary confinement.
After Professor McGonagall left, the twins reached out their hands, one on each side, and put their arms around Harry's shoulders.
"Lion King, you are such a good friend." The two of them said in unison: "Yes, you didn't betray us."
Harry shrugged and whispered to the two of them, "This makes me even more curious about what's under Professor Quirrell's turban - think about it, even after being hit on the back of the head by a snowball and bitten by a biting kale, Professor Quirrell refused to take off his turban. There must be some unspeakable secret underneath."
"Yes, yes." Fred continued, "You should have seen that he would rather let us go and pretend nothing happened than to reveal the secret under the turban. This is very abnormal in itself."
"Could it be that something has grown on the back of his head?" George asked doubtfully, "Like something like a malignant tumor, or... could it be dragon pox?!"
"If it's dragon pox, he should have it on his face and hands as well. How could it only be on his head?" Harry shook his head in denial.
After a pause, he continued, "I don't think it's some kind of disease. Perhaps Professor Quirrell is studying some kind of dark magic and doesn't want to be exposed."
"Dark magic?!" The twins exclaimed in unison, "Isn't he the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? Why is he studying dark magic?"
"Oh, as the saying goes, you can't defeat an enemy if you don't know him." Harry spread his hands and said, "People who have made achievements in Defense Against the Dark Arts must also have considerable attainments in the Dark Arts. Otherwise, how can they defend against the Dark Arts?"
"You make sense." The twins said in unison: "Then Harry, why are you so sure?"
"Of course this is easy to understand. If he is sick, even if it is dragon pox, there is nothing to be ashamed of." Harry began to analyze: "But he would rather swallow this breath and hide the secret under the turban. Apart from dark magic, I can't think of any other explanation."
The twins' eyes lit up.
"Then what should we do?" they asked in unison.
