Chapter 187 Preparation before the war

Chapter 187 Preparation before the war
"How many people have you gathered?"

After looking around, Moody turned the topic to the most critical issue at hand.

Before coming here, he had heard the specific details of the incident from Hagrid, including the previous confrontation between Suze and others and the enemy and the fire in the Room of Requirement.

When he learned that the young Tom Riddle now had the power of time and could attack at any time, even this experienced old wizard couldn't help but secretly smack his lips in amazement.

"I have asked Hagrid to contact as many members of the Order of the Phoenix as possible. Lupin and Snape are also contacting some old friends who are quite capable. They are all on their way to Hogwarts," said Dumbledore.

"An old friend of Snape's?"

Moody looked a little strange.

"Aren't all his old friends in Azkaban?"

Hearing this, Su Ze couldn't help but curl the corners of his mouth and turned his gaze to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore did not think much about Moody's words. After all, Snape was a Death Eater, which was a well-known fact in the wizarding world in the early years.

Many Death Eaters glared at Snape with hatred after being arrested, because they believed that this despicable guy had betrayed them.

After a pause, Dumbledore began to explain. "Snape has dealings with many powerful organizations because of the potion. This battle is of great importance. We need to unite all the forces that can be united."

"Then why don't you tell Fudge about this? You know, he was able to become the Minister of Magic thanks to your help." Moody asked in a flat tone.

Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic in the British wizarding world.

To be honest, besides being lucky, Dumbledore did make a great contribution to his becoming the Minister of Magic. This contribution was mainly due to Dumbledore's refusal to serve as the Minister of Magic and his help in helping Fudge secure the position of Minister.

At that time, there were two people who were capable of competing for the position of Minister of Magic. The most popular candidate was Barty Crouch. His reputation was obvious to all, and as one of the Aurors who had experienced the Death Eater War, his ability was also extremely powerful.

It stands to reason that it would be almost impossible for Fudge, an ordinary pure-blood wizard with no qualifications or political achievements, to win the election for the position of Minister of Magic. Fudge himself also felt that he was just a runner-up.

But what was unexpected was that during the campaign for Minister of Magic, Barty Crouch's biological son, Barty Crouch Jr., was accused of being a Death Eater.

This huge stain also made Barty Crouch lose the chance of winning the election, and his prestige in the wizarding world suffered a considerable blow. Although he later served as the Director of the Ministry of Magic's Executive Department, everyone with a discerning eye knew that he would never make any further progress in his life.

With his opponent losing the election, Fudge got a great bargain. He took office without any preparation.

Fudge, who had just taken office as Minister of Magic, was still very unconfident. He did not have much reputation in the wizarding world, and was still learning how to maintain the relationship between the various pure-blood families and the Ministry of Magic.

Fudge knew very well that without a strong backing, the pure-blood families would have little respect for him. Even many of his Aurors had complaints about him.

In this situation, Fudge had no choice but to seek help from Dumbledore and try to learn from him how to become the Minister of Magic and be better respected by other wizards.

This year is Fudge's second year as Minister of Magic. With Dumbledore's secret support, he finally managed to secure this position.

Thinking about Fudge's recent transformation, Dumbledore pondered for a while and then shook his head slightly.

"This matter cannot be told to anyone yet. There is a person hiding in other timelines who may even threaten everyone's existence. If the Ministry of Magic is informed, the whole world will be shocked."

In fact, what Dumbledore wanted to say more was that based on his understanding of Fudge, if that guy knew the possible dangers in the future, his first reaction would definitely be to quit.

The wizarding world is now shrouded in danger, and the Ministry of Magic, as the only control hub, must not allow any accidents to happen. So for this reason, Dumbledore decided to stabilize Fudge and gather a team of people on his side first.

"I know some friends in the Magical Congress of the United States of America. Maybe they can find someone to help." Newt Scamander said.

"We can only handle this matter ourselves."

Dumbledore shook his head and continued.

"We don't know what Tom is going to do, so we can't rashly drag wizards from other countries into the battlefield here. I have submitted a letter to the International Confederation of Wizards, informing them of what happened with Tom."

"Have you informed the International Confederation of Wizards about this?" Newt Scamander was stunned. He didn't expect Dumbledore to be so decisive.

"I just told them that there is a powerful dark wizard ready to make a move, and I hope they can take precautions." Dumbledore waved his hand. "I didn't tell them the specific details, because no one would believe in controlling time."

Having said that, Dumbledore looked at Su Ze again.

“Just like no one would believe that there are wizards from another world.” “I think as long as there is evidence of Tom’s existence and the dangerous actions he would take, perhaps the World Federation of Wizards would come up with a reasonable solution.” Newt couldn’t help but speak.

"The problem is that we don't have any evidence right now." Su Ze spread his hands. "Tom just borrowed Voldemort's Horcrux to come to this timeline. He himself is not here at all."

"And the next time he comes here, it means he is fully prepared."

After the words fell, the atmosphere on the rooftop fell into silence.

No one present spoke. Everyone had a complicated and solemn expression. Dumbledore's brows were furrowed, and anxiety flashed in his blue eyes. Moody also looked a little uneasy.

Tonks stood silently in the corner, looking at Dumbledore and then at Suze, with no intention of disturbing these people.

The Black Lake behind Hogwarts was dead silent, the water was as ripple-free as a mirror. A few dark clouds floated across the sky, making the place look extremely lonely and helpless.

A breeze blew by, ruffling everyone's clothes and bringing a hint of coolness in autumn.

Moody's magic eyes turned, he pondered for a long time, and finally took the lead in speaking to break the silence.

"We'd better be prepared before Tom comes to us. An enemy who has the ability to travel through the past and the future, I can't imagine how terrifying the scene will be when he actually attacks us."

"Perhaps it will be even greater than the war that Voldemort started."

“Maybe even bigger than Grindelwald.” Newt also sighed slightly.

So many things have happened in the past hundred years.

"For Tom, time is like a book that he can flip through at will. He can obtain any power he wants, whether it is the past or the future, and he has plenty of time to learn all kinds of magic."

Su Ze was the one among these people who was relatively familiar with the power of time. He spoke calmly, reminding everyone of the seriousness of the matter.

"The only advantage is that he can't kill us by changing the past. If he wants to defeat us, he can only choose to come to this timeline."

Newt nodded thoughtfully and turned to look at Dumbledore. "Given Tom's character, what do you think he will do next?"

"Recruiting soldiers and winning over dark wizards and dark creatures, just like what Voldemort did before. Tom is good at using fear to rule everything. This is also the main reason why he can start a war." Dumbledore replied.

"But You-Know-Who failed, didn't he?" Moody said softly.

"So, Tom, who is familiar with the development of events in the timeline, will never repeat Voldemort's mistakes. I think we may have to be prepared to face dark wizards and other dark forces in other timelines." Su Ze said seriously.

"Can the dark wizards from other timelines call Slytherin over?" Moody's mouth twitched slightly.

"Technically, he can."

Su Ze smiled bitterly and continued.

"But he won't do that. Tom will never come into contact with anyone who can threaten his status, and Slytherin may not necessarily help him."

"Who will he go to then? Those notorious dark wizards in history were basically loners, and they were extremely conceited. They don't look like the kind of people that Tom would recruit." Moody frowned.

In response, Su Ze just shook his head. "It's not important. Instead of worrying about these uncertain things, I'm more worried about Tom's ability to travel through time and master more powerful magic."

Dumbledore is still here. Although he has suffered great damage from snooping into the timeline, he is still able to suppress Voldemort with his current strength.

However, if young Tom learns some forbidden or long-lost magic, it will be hard to say who will win or lose.

Especially since it has been quite some time since he came to this world, Su Ze has not acquired any new abilities except for the basilisk, which makes him a little anxious.

"Su Ze, what are you thinking about?" Dumbledore noticed Su Ze's expression.

"I'm going to leave Hogwarts for a while. I have something I have to do before Tom starts a war."

Su Ze said this seriously, then he raised his head, looked around, and finally his eyes fell on Dumbledore.

"The students of Hogwarts also need to be prepared for the war. After all, this is a war that concerns the entire wizarding world and even the Muggle world."
