Chapter 556 Embryo Cleavage Dimension
Chapter 556 Embryo Cleavage Dimension
“David,” Amy bent down to adjust his cloak. “You bear the cursed bloodline and bear the heavy responsibility of protecting everyone. You have endured too much pain during this time. We will find a way.”
He looked ahead without turning back, his voice low but firm: "I know I cannot fall, not only for myself, but also for all those who trust me."
This power is both a curse and a hope.
I will do everything in my power to control it, to let it burn like an inextinguishable flame guarding the dawn.
Lena stood up and unfurled the scroll in her hand, which was densely covered with ancient forbidden techniques and sealing spells.
"We must study the secret texts left behind by the Star-Eyed Clan more deeply; perhaps the answers are hidden in those lost chapters."
But time is limited, and the incubation process is accelerating; not a minute can be wasted.
Her tone was resolute, and her gaze swept over the scars and exhaustion on everyone's chests.
Outside the camp, the howling wind of the far north was like the roar of a ferocious beast, blowing snowflakes into the air.
Snowflakes fall on the frozen, cracked earth, melting and quickly crystallizing back into thin ice.
This desolate yet magnificent natural landscape reflects the anxiety and determination in everyone's hearts—each of them is like a lone pine tree standing firm in the blizzard, unafraid of the harsh environment, just to protect the only faith in their hearts.
In the distance, the sky hangs low, and a twisted void rift flickers, like the open jaws of a ferocious beast about to devour all life.
That is precisely the spatial portal formed by the observer's left-behind remains, a link in the path for the "parasitic embryo" to sneak into the real world.
Zelllos, his longsword slung across his shoulder, stared into the distance with a grim expression: "The enemy's spread is beyond our imagination. We must take the initiative to fight back, or we will eventually be swallowed up by the endless void vortex."
At the same time, the ancestral altar of the Star Pupil Clan was dimly lit, and the blue-purple magic circle kept rotating and shining, gathering the surrounding misty energy to form a protective barrier.
Complex magical incantations emanated from the altar, echoing across the heavens. An invisible force drew upon the spiritual veins of the world, making final preparations for the impending battle.
Amy closed her eyes and concentrated, invoking a soul purification spell. Pure, moon-like magic shot from her palm, gradually driving away the surrounding hazy, chaotic aura and guiding it to spread safely outward, thus slowing the spread of pollution.
But her expression grew increasingly grave, because the root cause of the pollution had not been eliminated; it had only achieved a temporary balance on the surface, while deeper threats remained lurking and unshakeable.
Lena kept flipping through the forbidden scrolls, her brows furrowing and relaxing several times, hoping to find a way to break the deadlock against the "dimensional parasitic embryo" from the lost books.
David sat silently in the corner, scanning every detail of the room with his vertical pupils. He knew that the scorching and dangerous power within his body was gradually awakening over time, and he could not allow himself to become the next terrifying seed!
The frigid winds of the far north howled across the ice plains, whipping up fine snowflakes that danced in the air.
The campfire flickered in the night, its light illuminating David's tired face and outlining his resolute features.
He slowly raised his left arm; the grayish-white marks had spread to his neck, gleaming eerily in the firelight.
"The fluctuations in the earth's veins have subsided for the time being," Amy said softly, her fingers gently brushing against the crystal ball floating in mid-air.
Inside the sphere, blue energy flowed slowly, but occasionally a few ominous black lines would flash across it.
Lena stood to the side, her long, silvery-white hair fluttering in the wind.
She gazed in the direction of the Star-Eyed Clan's sacred land in the distance, a trace of worry flashing in her icy blue eyes.
“It’s just a surface phenomenon,” she whispered. “The chaotic energy has already permeated the core of the world.”
Zelllos gripped his longsword tightly, the metal hilt gleaming coldly in the firelight.
“I felt it,” his voice was low and solemn, “like the calm before a storm.”
David suddenly knelt down on one knee, supporting himself with his left hand on the ground.
The snow his fingertips touched instantly froze into ice crystals, which were then quickly shattered by an invisible force.
“It’s calling me,” his voice was hoarse, his vertical pupils flashing with pain and struggle. “That embryo. I can feel its pulse.”
Amy quickly stepped forward and knelt beside him.
She placed her palm on David's forehead, and pale blue light flowed from her fingertips.
“Concentrate,” her voice was soft yet firm, “Don’t let it affect you.”
Beneath the ice layer of the Star-Eyed Clan's sacred land, a dark shadow was slowly writhing.
It has no fixed shape; sometimes it shrinks into a sphere, and sometimes it extends out tendril-like protrusions.
When the surrounding ice crystals come into contact with the shadow, they instantly become cloudy and then shatter silently.
“We must stop it from hatching.” Lena turned and walked toward the sand table in the center of the tent, her fingers tracing the model made of ice crystals.
"According to ancient records, once a dimensional parasitic embryo is fully awakened, it will begin to rewrite the fundamental laws of its dimension."
Zellos walked to her side, his brow furrowed: "Is there any way to destroy it?"
"Theoretically," Lena's finger stopped on the part of the sand table that represented the Holy Land, "it needs to sever its connection with all dimensions at the same time."
But that's almost impossible.
David struggled to his feet, his movement causing the bone armor on his body to make a slight clinking sound.
"Then let's find a new method."
His voice carried an unwavering determination: "I will not let the observers' conspiracy succeed."
Amy looked at him with concern: "Your body has already endured too much."
"It's ok."
David raised his hand, looking at the gray patches spreading across it. "This pain...this change is meaningful."
He suddenly clenched his fist, and fine runes appeared on his bone armor. "I can feel that this body is adapting to the chaotic energy."
As night deepened, the atmosphere in the camp grew increasingly tense.
Everyone knows that a greater crisis is lurking beneath the surface of this temporary calm.
Beneath the ice of the Star-Eyed Clan's sacred land, the being known as the "Dimensional Parasitic Embryo" is growing silently, waiting for the moment it breaks free from its cocoon.
As the last ray of moonlight was obscured by dark clouds, the far northern ice plains were plunged into complete darkness.
Only the campfire in the camp was still burning stubbornly, like a faint lamp of hope, flickering defiantly in the endless darkness.
The night sky in the far north is like a thick obsidian, with starlight obscured by dense clouds, leaving only a few stubborn stars twinkling in the gaps.
A cold wind, carrying tiny ice crystals, swirled around the camp, making a mournful sound.
Inside Lilliana's tent, the runic lamps emitted a ghostly blue light, casting everyone's shadows onto the tent fabric like dancing phantoms.
Amy gently lifted the tent flap, and a chill immediately seeped in through the gap.
She walked quickly to the center of the magic circle, her boots barely making a sound as they stepped on the ground covered with snow wolf fur.
"Liliana, how are you feeling?" Her voice was soft, but it couldn't hide the worry in it.
Liliana knelt in the center of the rune array, her long silver hair cascading over her shoulders.
Her fingers gripped the front of her shirt tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force. Gray lines spread from below her collarbone, like living vines winding and crawling across her skin.
These patterns sometimes shimmer with an eerie purple light, and at other times they are so dim that they are almost invisible.
“It’s resonating,” Liliana looked up, a flicker of pain in her icy blue eyes. “It’s like someone is hammering my soul.”
Her voice trembled, and her breath condensed into tiny ice crystals in the cold air.
Lena strode to the monitoring equipment, her slender fingers flying across the rune keyboard.
A complex energy spectrum immediately appeared on the holographic projection, with one gray energy line fluctuating violently.
“The chaotic resonance index has exceeded the critical value,” her voice was tense, “the dimensional ice crystals are resonating with the emblem.”
A commotion suddenly arose outside the tent, followed by Zelllos's deep, powerful voice: "Get out of the way!"
The curtain was suddenly flung open, and a tall figure, exuding a chilling aura, stormed in.
Unmelted ice crystals still clung to his armor, and the scabbard clanged against the armor with a crisp sound.
“New cracks have appeared in the ice to the north,” Zelllos’s voice seemed to come from an ice cellar. “I saw… a black shadow moving beneath the ice.”
His hand unconsciously tightened its grip on the sword hilt, his knuckles making a slight cracking sound.
David emerged from the shadows, the bone armor making a soft rustling sound as he moved.
His vertical pupils gleamed dangerously in the dim light.
“It’s an embryo,” his voice was hoarse, “it’s responding to the emblem’s resonance.”
He raised his hand, and the grayish-white marks had spread to his fingertips, looking particularly eerie under the dim blue light.
Amy quickly walked to Liliana's side, knelt down, and gently cupped her face in her hands.
“Look at me,” Amy’s voice was firm yet gentle, “Concentrate and don’t let it lead you astray.”
A faint blue light emanated from her fingertips, and warm energy slowly flowed into Liliana's body.
Liliana's breathing gradually calmed down, but the gray lines on her chest still writhed restlessly.
Suddenly, she grabbed Amy's wrist with surprising force.
“It’s speaking,” Liliana’s voice became strange and hollow. “It’s chanting… some kind of ancient incantation.”
The temperature inside the tent seemed to drop suddenly, and everyone's breath condensed into white mist.
Lena's instruments emitted a piercing alarm, and the energy lines on the projection flickered wildly.
“Energy fluctuations are forming some kind of… some kind of structure,” her voice trembled with shock, “It’s a portal! The observers are using the emblem as an anchor point!”
Zelllos drew his longsword abruptly, the blade slicing a silver arc in the dim tent.
"We must sever all communication immediately!" His voice boomed like thunder. "Otherwise, the entire far north will become an outpost for invasion!"
David's bone armor suddenly glowed with a dazzling white light, and he bent over in pain, letting out a low growl.
The grayish-white marks writhed beneath his skin like living things, creating a strange synchronization with the patterns on Liliana's chest.
“It’s calling me,” David’s voice grew hoarse. “I can feel the embryo’s pulse.”
Outside the tent, the wind and snow suddenly intensified.
The strong wind tore at the tent ropes, making an unsettling creaking sound.
On the distant ice field, a purple lightning bolt ripped through the night sky, illuminating the slowly cracking ice.
Lena's fingers flew across the keyboard, and the holographic projection constantly changed complex sequences of runes.
"Found it!" she suddenly exclaimed, "The interruption ritual recorded in the ancient books!"
Her voice trembled slightly with excitement, "We need to activate the altar's protective array immediately!"
Amy helped the weakened Liliana to her feet, her other hand already gripping the staff tightly.
"Let's go!" Her voice was almost drowned out by the gale. "To the altar! There's no time!"
The moment everyone rushed out of the tent, a blinding purple light shot into the sky from the direction of the ice field, dyeing the entire night sky an eerie purple.
In the light, a huge black shadow could be vaguely seen writhing beneath the ice. Its outline kept changing, sometimes resembling a swirling cloud of mist, and sometimes extending out countless tentacles-like protrusions.
David ran in the lead, his bone armor gleaming coldly in the purple light.
Each step left deep footprints in the snow, but they were quickly smoothed out by the howling wind and snow.
His vertical pupils were fixed on the distant altar, where ancient runes flickered uneasily.
"Quickly!" Zelllos's voice came from behind. He was supporting Liliana with one hand and holding a sword in the other. A thin layer of ice had already formed on his armor.
As they finally reached the altar, a deafening cracking sound came from the direction of the ice field.
Everyone turned to look and saw that the ice in the distance had completely cracked open, and a huge black vortex was forming, distorting and deforming the surrounding space.
"Begin the ceremony!" Lena shouted as she leaped onto the altar, her long hair flying in the wind like silver flames.
Amy placed Liliana in the center of the altar, then quickly took her place.
The tip of her staff shone brightly, tracing a graceful arc through the wind and snow.
Ancient incantations flowed from her lips, each syllable causing the surrounding air to tremble.
David stood at the edge of the altar, the runes on his bone armor lighting up one after another.
He threw his head back and let out a long howl, his voice a mixture of pain and despair.
Grayish-white marks spread across his body, but this time, they began to emit a faint blue light, resonating with the runes of the altar.
Zellos stood with his sword in hand, guarding the altar like a statue.
His sword tip pointed towards the distant black vortex, and the ice crystals on his armor shimmered with a cold light under the purple glow.
“Come on,” he whispered, his voice filled with fighting spirit, “let’s end this.”
As the ceremony progressed, the runes on the altar grew brighter and brighter, eventually forming a pillar of light that shot straight into the sky.
The beam of light collided with the distant black vortex, tearing the entire far northern night sky apart with the energy generated by the collision, presenting a strange, otherworldly color.
Liliana knelt in the center of the altar, the gray markings on her chest twisting violently as if in a final struggle.
Her eyes turned completely purple, and her lips trembled as she chanted in an ancient language that no one could understand.
