Chapter 138 Matt Comes to Help

Chapter 138 Matt Comes to Help
"Catch him now!"

The roars continued and Hawkeye ran away quickly. Relying on his strong physique, even though he had just been seriously injured, he could not be caught up by these townspeople.

But the person holding the huge axe at the back is different. No, that is not a person.

In that brief moment, Hawkeye clearly saw a thin, short man riding on the man holding a huge axe.

No, perhaps it should be called blending in. The short man seemed to have no legs, as if they were growing on the body of the man holding the giant axe.

That image was simply disgusting to Hawkeye.

This bulky body is surprisingly flexible and fast.

Hawkeye thought he was already very fast, but this combined man was able to keep up with him.

"He's over there!" A sharp cry pierced the darkness, followed by more footsteps, like hounds tracking wounded prey.

Hawkeye knew that if they were surrounded, the consequences would be disastrous.

He was injured now, and he didn't know where his bow and arrow were lost during his mental breakdown just now.

He was holding a small knife, so even ordinary townspeople could pose a threat to him as long as there were enough of them.

Not to mention, there was a combined being holding a giant axe chasing him from behind.

Hawkeye was like a deer being chased by a hound, shuttling between narrow and winding alleys, with every step being on the edge of life and death.

The moonlight gradually became thinner, barely illuminating the area a few feet ahead, but it was enough for him to identify which paths could temporarily avoid pursuers.

His heart was beating like a drum, and every breath seemed to stir up a storm in his chest, but even so, his eyes remained sharp, constantly looking for an opportunity to escape.

Behind him, the combined man holding a huge axe was like a demon in the night, and every step he took was accompanied by a slight tremor on the ground.

The combined man's movements were extremely coordinated, as if the small soul and the burly body were perfectly integrated. Every time he swung the axe, it was powerful enough to split rocks, but Hawkeye was always able to avoid it by a hair's breadth with his amazing reaction speed and familiarity with the terrain.

Once, the combined man threw the axe fiercely, and the axe was like lightning that broke through the night sky and went straight to Hawkeye's vest. Hawkeye rolled on the ground and narrowly avoided the fatal blow. The axe was deeply embedded in the stone wall beside him, and the broken stones were scattered everywhere.

He took the opportunity to jump up and climb onto the roof of an abandoned house, trying to use the height advantage to create distance.

However, the combined man did not slow down, he also jumped onto another building and chased after him. The two jumped between the roofs, and every step they took was terrifying, as if the whole world was shaking under their feet.

"Hurry! Don't let him run away!" The townspeople's shouts came one after another. The torches and lanterns in their hands flickered in the distance, like stars in the dark night, but also a sign that Hawkeye could never hide.

Hawkeye was anxious, he knew that if he continued like this he would be exhausted sooner or later.

Suddenly, he noticed an abandoned warehouse in front of him. The door was half-closed and it was dark inside, which seemed to hide unknown possibilities. He rushed in without hesitation, using the debris and shadows in the warehouse to try to confuse the pursuers.

The combined man followed closely behind, swinging his giant axe, splitting the wooden boxes and shelves in the warehouse into pieces, sawdust and debris flying everywhere, and the air was filled with a pungent smell of wood.

Hawkeye moved flexibly among them, taking advantage of every obstacle that could block his vision, and started a silent battle with the combined man.

Every time the combined man attacked, Hawkeye narrowly parried it with the edge of his knife or in a narrow space. The sharp sound of the blade colliding with the axe blade echoed in every corner of the warehouse. Sweat slid down Hawkeye's forehead and dripped onto the dry ground. Each sound was like a countdown to his life.

Hawkeye was like a cunning fox in the abandoned warehouse, shuttling between the messy shelves and piles of wooden boxes.

The darkness in the warehouse seemed to have become his protective color. Every turn and every emergency stop was perfectly utilized these obstacles as cover.

The combined man holding the giant axe, although extremely powerful, seemed much more clumsy in such an environment.

Every time he swung his axe, he had to clear the obstacles in front of him first, which gave Hawkeye a precious chance to catch his breath.

However, the combined man was not discouraged. With his amazing endurance and persistence in his goal, he continued to press forward step by step.

In a corner of the warehouse, Hawkeye discovered a narrow passage leading underground. He went in without hesitation, hoping to escape the pursuit of the combined man.

The passage was dark and damp, and the air was filled with the smell of mold and damp earth.

Hawkeye groped forward cautiously, and the knife in his hand became his only weapon and support.

The combined man followed closely behind. It was particularly difficult to swing the giant axe in the narrow passage, but he did not give up. Instead, he relied on his skillful control of the giant axe to try to split the obstacles in front of him again and again. The passage was filled with the dull sound of the axe blade chopping the wooden board and Hawkeye's rapid breathing.

Suddenly, a spacious basement appeared in front of the passage, which was filled with various sundries and abandoned equipment. Hawkeye was delighted and quickly hid behind a pile of abandoned boxes, using these boxes as cover to observe the movements of the combined man.

After the combined man entered the basement, he was obviously troubled by the complex environment there.

He looked around, trying to find Hawkeye's trace. At this moment, Hawkeye seized the opportunity and rushed out from behind the box, the knife in his hand flashing with cold light, and went straight to the vital point of the combined man.

However, the combined man's reaction speed was equally amazing. He turned around quickly, and the giant axe drew a perfect arc in the air, blocking Hawkeye's attack and hitting Hawkeye hard.

Hawkeye was sent flying backwards like a kite with a broken string because of the powerful blow from the combined man, and hit the wall of the basement heavily.

He only felt the blood surging in his chest, and a severe pain made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

Seeing this, the combined man showed a sinister smile on his face. He slowly approached, and the huge axe dragged on the ground, making a harsh sound.

Hawkeye's eyes began to blur. He knew that he was at the end of his strength and could no longer escape this deadly pursuit.

At this critical moment, a black shadow suddenly rushed out from a corner of the warehouse and approached the combined man quickly like a ghost.

The man held a stick in his hand and moved swiftly and decisively, pointing directly at the combined man's vital points.

The combined man sensed the danger and quickly turned around to swing his axe to meet the enemy. But the man was obviously a master, he cleverly dodged the edge of the axe, and the stick drew a graceful arc in the air, hitting the combined man's side heavily, knocking him over.

"Go!" Matt's voice sounded in Hawkeye's ears.

Although Hawkeye was unconscious, after hearing Matt's voice, he grabbed Matt's shoulders tightly and let Matt take him through the narrow passage to escape from here.

All that was left was the combined man's unwilling roar.
