Chapter 86 On the Floor

After Feng Twelve finished speaking, he stood up first and sat down on the floor.

He leaned back against the carriage and stretched his legs: "Come on."

His tone was calm and his face was expressionless, but somehow Fang Tong could see that he was ready to sacrifice himself.

She walked over dragging her cloak, squatted down, and slowly found a suitable position between his legs.

"Is this... okay?" she asked in a low voice.

She didn't know why she had to lower her voice. Outside the window, there were the rumbling of wheels and the clatter of horse hooves. Her voice was not loud at the beginning, so it should not be heard.

Feng Twelve glanced at the girl lying on his chest.

She pulled her long black hair in front of her, but a few strands were still scattered on her back.

He moved his fingers slightly and brushed away the few strands of hair for her. His movements were so gentle that he didn't even touch her body.

Fang Tong only felt like a gentle breeze blowing on his back, making him feel a little itchy.

She moved and confirmed again: "Is it okay to lie down like this?"

"Yeah." Feng Twelve picked up the prepared medicine powder.

Seeing him raise his hand, Fang Tong called out, "Wait."

After saying this, she hastily stuffed the twisted handkerchief into her mouth, threw herself forward and hugged his waist.

"Mm-hmm." Okay.

She made a gurgling sound.

Feng Twelve only felt his waist tighten and she held him tightly.

He was stunned for a moment, feeling a little amused and helpless.

He looked at the tense skin on her shoulders and back, knowing that although she appeared calm, she must be very scared.

Such a deep wound would be very painful even if it fell on him.

People who are familiar with him know that when he is injured, he will never show it no matter how painful it is. It is not because he is slower than others, but because this kind of pain can only be endured by himself, and there is no point in letting others see it.

But at the moment, he would rather Fang Tong was not so calm. She was different from him. She didn't need so much disguise. She should cry when she wanted to cry and laugh when she wanted to laugh, just like when she was a cat.

Feng Twelve lowered his eyes and sprinkled the medicine powder on Fang Tong's wound.

Fang Tong's body shook violently and a sob escaped from his throat.

She thought it would be painful to apply the medicine, but she didn't expect it to be so painful.

The wound seemed to have been cut open again by a knife, and the tip of the knife stirred inside twice.

Her tears flowed uncontrollably, her scalp numbed with pain, the handkerchief fell from her mouth, and her hands unconsciously tightened around Feng Twelve's waist, her ten slender white fingers twisted together with difficulty.

She regretted it.

Fang Tong thought with tears in her eyes, if she had known that applying medicine would be so painful, she would rather the wound split and rot than suffer such torture.

She suspected that what Feng Twelve gave her was not medicine, but poison, the kind that would corrode her skin and flesh.

The pain in the vest had not yet subsided, and my left shoulder felt hot again.

She could no longer tell whether Feng Twelve was using medicine or a branding iron. Her body shuddered violently and she bit his shoulder.

Feng Twelve paused in applying the medicine, glanced at her head buried in his shoulder, turned his eyes away, and continued to apply the powder in his hand to her wound.

He is like a painter who strives for perfection and will not stop until every detail of the painting is properly blended.

Fang Tong was dying and living in his arms, and she only hated that time passed too slowly. She wanted him to stop several times.

But he seemed to see her intention, and before she could dodge, he crossed his left arm across her waist and held her tightly in his arms.

Fang Tong was in so much pain that his head went blank, and he bit his shoulder a few more times in anger.

After struggling for a while, the two finally finished applying the medicine.

Fang Tong leaned on his chest, breathing softly, not wanting to say a word.

After an unknown amount of time, the burning pain on his back gradually disappeared, replaced by a dull numbness. Fang Tong suspected that he had gone mad from the pain, which was why he suddenly could not feel the pain.

A hand wiped across her forehead, wiping away the cold sweat on her temples.

"Are you feeling better?" Feng Twelve asked.

Fang Tong closed his eyes, he had no strength and didn't want to talk.

Feng Twelve's voice was even lower: "This medicine is specially made by the military. It will hurt when you first apply it, but it will numb the wound afterwards and make you feel less uncomfortable."

Fang Tong turned his head and looked at his profile, breathlessly asking, "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

It's better to let her prepare herself mentally than torturing her right away.

Feng Twelve raised the corner of his mouth: "If I tell you it won't hurt?"

Fang Tong glared at him.

His neck was so close that she could bite it off with just one bite. Fang Tong imagined herself as a vampire and gritted her teeth.

Feng Twelve felt the breath brushing against his neck, warm and a little moist. He turned his head slightly and looked at her face.

Her face was resting on his shoulder, wilting like a cabbage that had lost water. A few strands of wet hair stained with sweat stuck to her pale cheeks, and there were some stains on her face that might have been tears or sweat.

He raised his hand to brush her hair away and wiped the wet marks on her face.

His movements were so natural that neither of them noticed anything wrong.

But the next second, almost at the same time, the two people suddenly separated.

Fang Tong seemed to come back to his senses. He sat on the floor, tightly grasping the straps of his cloak. His eyes drifted here and there, finally landing on Feng Twelve's shoulder.

The fabric on his shoulders was ruffled by her, wet and wrinkled.

She lowered her eyes hastily, only to find herself still kneeling between his legs. Her ears suddenly felt hot, and she couldn't tell why they began to heat up.

She despised herself in her heart. She had never seen a patient being shy in front of a doctor. They were just treating injuries!

Fang Tong cleared his throat: "Can you help me take off my clothes?"

She now felt that she could not just imagine Feng Twelve as a doctor, but should think of him as a bath attendant.

As a bath attendant, I am always open and frank with the customers. You show yours, I show mine, and no one is embarrassed.

But...a bathhouse where people of the opposite sex get to scrub each other's backs doesn't sound like a serious place.

Fang Tong seemed to have a hundred ducks in his head. They swam around in the bathhouse, making a lot of noise. Finally, the prettiest duck emerged from the water and opened its mouth to speak.

"yours."

Feng Twelve handed a set of clothes to Fang Tong.

Fang Tong took it woodenly, and saw Feng Twelve unbuttoning his outer robe.

Fang Tong stared at him and blinked: "You are..."

Before he could finish his words, Feng Twelve picked up a clean robe and put it on.

Fang Tong moved his lips and said "Oh" silently, then turned his eyes away and did not look at anything inappropriate.

Feng Twelve changed his clothes in no time, walked to the car door, and sat down cross-legged with his back to her.

This means guarding the door for her so that she can change clothes without worry.

Fang Tong's mouth curled up unconsciously. She took off her cloak and picked up her dress to put them on one by one.

Feng Twelve looked at the curtain in front of him. The carriage was speeding on the official road. The strong wind blew the curtain up, and the sound of the wind and the sound of the wheels intertwined, forming a torrent that poured into his ears.

Amidst the noise, he heard the rustling of clothes behind him, occasionally mixed with a muffled groan. It was Fang Tong pulling at her wound but not daring to cry out in pain.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, but the dark red, hideous wound and her black, sweaty hair flashed before his eyes again.

 I suspected I was driving, but I really wasn't...
