Chapter 99: Go first
Feng Twelve had been out of favor since he was young, and the emperor would occasionally show some favor to him only because the crown prince always took care of his younger brother.

Now that the prince has just disappeared, the emperor's imperial edicts of punishment have come one after another. If Feng Twelve returns to the capital, being questioned is a small matter. I am afraid that the emperor will be so angry that he will regard him as the culprit for the prince's disappearance.

Feng Yuyang's worry was visible to the naked eye, but Feng Twelve looked calm.

"I'm going to Fuyao Mountain."

Feng Yuyang sighed, "You can't even protect yourself right now, and you still have the energy to care about others. Even if the prince's disappearance was man-made, what would it matter if you went there? That Yuan Bao has been keeping an eye on you."

Feng Twelve turned to look at him: "I need your help."

"Me?" Feng Yuyang pointed at himself, "How can I help?"

"Hold Yuan Bao for me."

Feng Yuyang looked strange: "You want to escape?"

"Yes." Feng Twelve nodded, "I'll take a short rest and leave tonight."

Feng Yuyang raised his hand and made a gesture for silence, turned his head to look at the door, pulled him a few steps into the room, opened the window and looked, closed the window, and turned back to Feng Twelve.

"You are crazy," he lowered his voice, "If you abandon Yuan Bao, be careful that he will say bad things about you in front of His Majesty."

"I will leave a letter for him, telling him that I will be returning to the capital first," Feng Twelve said, "With his speed, he won't be able to catch up with me."

Feng Yuyang hesitated: "Think carefully, if you can't get back to the capital before him, you will be charged with disobeying the emperor's order, and His Majesty will never let you off easily."

"I know."

Seeing that he couldn't persuade him, Feng Yuyang frowned and walked back and forth in the room a few times with his jade cane.

"Okay," he stopped, "Since you want to go, no one can stop you. Leave Yuan Bao to me."

"Thank you." Feng Twelve said.

"We are brothers after all, why are we talking about this?" Feng Yuyang smiled, "I have nothing to do anyway, so I'm just looking for some fun."

"Don't you want to pursue the people of Wuyue Mountain who admire you?" Feng Twelve asked.

Feng Yuyang curled his lips: "As soon as the literary gathering was over, he sneaked away."

"Where?"

"I don't know." Feng Yuyang waved the jade staff in his hand and suddenly revealed a mysterious smile, "But as long as he runs out of money, he will take the initiative to show up. I can guarantee that he won't be able to hide for long this time."

"Why?"

"He redeemed Qingluan and Hongxiao from Furong Courtyard," Feng Yuyang winked at him, "and said he wanted to take them both as maids."

Feng Twelve's eyes moved slightly: "Maid?"

"Yes," Feng Yuyang said with a smile, "Isn't it strange? He used to call himself a free and easy person. He didn't even want the slaves I gave him, but this time he took the initiative to accept two people. Hong Xiao is fine, but Qing Luan, who looks arrogant, is willing to follow him obediently. But with Wu Yue's extravagant habits, I'm afraid he can't afford to support these two people."

Feng Twelve's eyebrows were indifferent: "If he is short of money, will he come to you?"

"Of course," Feng Yuyang smiled, "Looking at the entire Dazhao, who is more wronged than me?"

He patted Feng Twelve's shoulder and said, "I won't bother you anymore. Take some time to rest. I know what's going on with Yuan Bao."

After the two men finished discussing, Feng Twelve sent Feng Yuyang out the door.

An eunuch was sitting in the corridor. When he saw Feng Twelve turned around and went back into the house, he looked away.

Feng Twelve closed the door, took off his cross-body bag and placed it on the table.

He untied the straps of his shoulder bag and opened the bag, revealing a furry little head. "Are you feeling better?" he asked in a low voice.

Fang Tong lay inside and called out weakly.

She had been sleeping in the shoulder bag for the past few days, and the ride was very bumpy, causing her back and waist to ache and her limbs to stiffen. She stood up, and felt as if she was stepping on a ball of cotton under her four paws, and she walked unsteadily. She barely took a few steps forward, and her foot tripped over the edge of the shoulder bag, and she fell down with a thump.

She lay on her belly and struggled hard, but her hind paws were entangled in the laces and the more she struggled, the harder it was to untie them.

She was tired, hungry, and sleepy, and she howled angrily.

Feng Twelve saw the kitten rolling around on the table, the laces getting tighter and tighter, and he couldn't help but reach out and hold her down.

"Don't move," he said, holding her paw and untying the ties from her hind legs.

"Okay." He let her go.

Fang Tong rolled sideways and stood up, turned around on the spot, and shook his paws.

"I will leave with the guards in the inn tonight," Feng Twelve looked at her and said, "Do you want to stay first?"

He deliberately asked Xiaonian to take half of the guards to the inn outside, just to make plans for departure in advance. Half of the guards were left in the inn so that Fang Tong could go with them and suffer less on the road.

Fang Tong shook his head without even thinking.

Although it might be a bit unfair to the guards to say this, in her heart, no one was more reliable than Feng Twelve.

Others treated her well, perhaps because of Feng Twelve. Only Feng Twelve treated her as Fang Tong, no matter whether she was a human or a cat.

She leaped forward and into his arms.

When Feng Twelve saw the kitten rushing towards him, he subconsciously raised his arms to catch her.

Fang Tong relied on the fact that he was a cat and meowed at him a few times without any shyness, then rubbed his arm with his head tilted.

A light laugh came from above her head, and a finger flicked the alopecia on her forehead.

"Riding a horse is very tiring." Feng Twelve said.

Fang Tong shook her ears and said it was not hard. She was lying in the shoulder bag and did not have to ride a horse.

"We can't rest for a few hours along the way." Feng Twelve said again.

Fang Tong remained silent. She could rest in the bag. At worst, she could use it as a cradle. She would get used to it after rocking it for a while.

Feng Twelve saw her burying her face in his arms, as if she had made up her mind to follow him, and couldn't help but smile: "Thank you for your hard work."

Fang Tong then raised his head and glanced with one eye.

Seeing Feng Twelve's accommodating smile, her ears felt hot and she felt that she was not much different from a naughty child. But after all, she was a cat. It was natural for a cat to be naughty!
That night, the eunuch guarding the corridor was still dozing off, and Feng Twelve's room was empty.

The next morning, Yuan Bao saw the letter left by Feng Twelve, and was so angry that he scolded the eunuch who was on guard at night.

He hurriedly asked people to pack their luggage and set off, but he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Not only him, but several eunuchs traveling with him were vomiting and having diarrhea. In less than an hour, they had gone to the toilet three or four times in a row.

When Feng Yuyang heard about this, he rushed over and saw Yuan Bao walking back to his bedroom with the help of a clerk. He noticed that Yuan Bao's face was pale and his legs were weak, so he quickly asked someone to call a doctor.

"Eunuch Yuan may have just arrived in the south and is not used to the climate there," Feng Yuyang said with concern. "It was the same for me when I first came here. He should be fine after taking two doses of medicine."

Yuan Bao sat down on the chair and panted, "The twelfth prince disobeyed the imperial order and left without permission. Your Majesty, you must testify for me."

Feng Yuyang poured him a cup of hot tea and said, "Don't worry, Eunuch Yuan. I have read the letter left by Xiao Twelve. He is not disobeying the order, but wants to return to Beijing early."

Yuan Bao snorted and laughed: "Your Majesty, don't try to fool me. You know where the twelfth prince wants to go."

Feng Yuyang opened his eyes wide: "Eunuch Yuan has wronged me, I really didn't know."

Seeing that he refused to admit it, Yuan Bao leaned on the edge of the table to rest for a while, closed his eyes and shook his head: "Well, if the twelfth prince misses the time to return to the capital, I can only confess my crime in front of His Majesty, and then I will ask His Majesty to be a witness with me."

Feng Yuyang's face flashed with astonishment, and then he smiled bitterly: "Eunuch Yuan, why do you have to embarrass me? However, the prince had an accident during his southern tour, and I should go to the capital for emotional and logical reasons. Even if you don't say so, I will go anyway."
