Chapter 542 Annihilation of the Orc Army, King Joe and the Titans Join the Battle
On the equatorial plains of the Vigilant Star, the first batch of surviving orc drop pods crashed into the ground like meteorites, creating scorched craters tens of meters deep.
Before the hatch was fully opened, a deafening roar of "WAAAGH!!!" tore through the air.
Behind the steel defense line composed of more than two thousand Ultramarines, the orbital defense turret was charging, with pale blue ionic light gathering at the muzzle.
"First contact!" The scout's voice echoed through the tactical network.
An Ultramarines company commander stood on the command platform, the MKX power armor's servo system humming. He saw the first green-skinned kid leap out of the thick smoke—a mad monster covered in steam, banging his metal helmet on his head with a rusty machete.
"Brothers, fire!"
The simultaneous roar of hundreds of explosive guns was like thunder. The first row of orcs were blown to pieces in the metal storm, but more greenskins rushed out, stepping over the corpses of their comrades.
The word "fear" simply doesn't exist in the dictionary of the green-skinned orcs; they simply don't experience fear.
Mixed among them were modified killing cans; these three-meter-tall war machines, the Giga, wielded giant muzzle-loading guns modified from naval cannons, raining down shells on the Empire's defenses.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
An orc shell exploded twenty meters to the left of the Ultramarines, and two battle nuns were thrown away by the shockwave.
The battle nun immediately raised her flamethrower, and holy flames fanned out to cover an area fifty meters in front of her.
The air was instantly filled with the smell of roasted meat, and a dozen orcs danced and sang in the sea of fire, turning into roasted green-skinned boys.
"For the Emperor!" The warriors of the Third Ultramarines launched a counter-charge, their power swords and chainsaws reflecting a cold light in the sunlight.
The Ultramarines and the Orc Vanguard clashed violently, instantly splattering limbs and blood. One Ultramarines' assault shield shattered the Orc's bones, while another warrior's chainsword sawed the Killer Can in half.
If the original Space Marines were to face the Orks, their size would give them a certain advantage, but it wouldn't be overwhelming.
If a Primal Space Marine were to face a dozen or so Orc Boys at once, they would be killed, but a Primal Super Space Marine would be different.
These warriors are taller, stronger, faster, and more agile; they cannot be dealt with by sheer numbers.
There were too many orcs, but even so, the Ultramarines were like a blue steel wall, firmly blocking the green tide's charge and holding them in place, forming an indestructible blue wall.
The mortal defenders and the fighting nuns behind them picked up ranged weapons and kept firing at the orc army, killing the greenskins completely.
At this moment, a dense barrage of orcish stone landing pods rained down from the sky, and more green-skinned boys joyfully landed on the ground after their main warships exploded.
"WAAAGH!!!" "WAAAGH!!!" "WAAAGH!!!"
"Second wave of drop pods has arrived!" the scout's voice was urgent. "Large numbers of Orc war trucks spotted!"
The ground suddenly shook violently, and dozens of orc war trucks pieced together from scrap metal burst out of the dust, each equipped with a heavy machine gun and loaded with howling greenskins.
The driver of the truck at the front was a one-eyed orc leader, who raised a rusty machete aloft in his right hand, which served as a hook: "Crush these shrimp cans!"
"Thermal Weapon Team!" an Ultramarines company commander immediately ordered.
Three warriors, each carrying a massive molten ladle, knelt on one knee, and the scorching beams of light instantly melted the three war trucks into molten iron.
But the remaining trucks had already charged into the line of fire, and an Ultramariner was hit head-on, his power armor twisted and deformed under the impact of tens of tons.
The battle escalated instantly. A combat nun leaped onto a war truck, and the Power Sword smashed the driver's head into his chest.
The battle nuns behind her formed a mobile firing point, their explosive bolts precisely targeting the orcs attempting to surround them. But for every orc that fell, more orcs immediately emerged from the drop pods.
The number of orcs landing on the ground is increasing, and some war leaders have even used teleportation technology to reach the planet's surface through orc psionic lads.
Some melee orc lads wielding scythes have also broken into the Imperial mortal army. These orcs have not broken through the Ultramarines' defenses, but the wall formed by 2000 Ultramarines cannot cover the entire battlefield.
All around were green-skinned orcs, it was a grand celebration, and although the main fleet was shot down, it didn't matter to the orcs.
It doesn't matter if their own leader dies, or if their own warlord dies. As long as there's war, they'll quickly have a new leader, a new warlord.
As for weapons, we had no guns or cannons, but the enemy provided them to us. We just picked up whatever was in good working order from the garbage dump and got some big guns.
Pick up a piece of scrap metal, make it into a jar, stuff a fart spirit inside, and you have a Hell Jar.
Then, stuff a fart sprite into the bomb of a garbage plane, and you have an auto-navigating fart sprite bomb. These fart sprites just need to fly their little bomb planes and rush towards the enemy, and their mission is complete.
"Third Army Corps, report casualties!" a mortal commander shouted.
"Karls' squad needs backup!"
"The eastern defensive line has been breached!"
Calls echoed through the communication channels as an Ultramariner cleaved the charging Orc leader in two with a single sword strike, then looked up to see the sky stained red by the afterburners of more drop pods.
Just then, a golden emblem flashed through the tactical eyepiece—the Apocalypse-class battleship in orbit, Calgar, sent a communication.
"Ground troops, continue the fight."
We have already defeated the main orc fleet, and our ground troops will be landing soon.
"Just hold on a little longer, and victory will be ours. I'm sending the King Joe robots to provide support, and then they'll bombard the orc army. Make sure they hold out until we arrive," said the holographic projection of Vice Commander Calgar.
King Joe is currently a main combat unit among the Imperial Titans. It possesses excellent performance and the ability to create clones.
A King Joe robot is divided into four parts, which are four independent combat units, capable of launching dense firepower bombardment against the enemy.
Tokas immediately activated the company-wide broadcast: "Attention all personnel! High-altitude bombing is imminent."
His warning was interrupted by a deafening roar as ten King Joe robots arrived on the battlefield, splitting into four parts and forming a bombing formation as they flew toward the orc army.
The Pedanium Ray Cannons were detonated 500 meters above the ground, creating a fiery storm that covered the entire battlefield. The bombing of King Joe Bridge was extremely fierce.
The sky instantly turned a blinding bright blue, and thousands of orcs were reduced to ashes in the ionization. The Ultramarines had secured their bodies in advance to prevent them from being blown away by the shockwave, but the exposed surfaces of their armor were still scorched red.
When the light faded, the entire plain looked as if it had been turned over by a giant plow by a god.
Two-thirds of the orc army was wiped out, and the remaining greenskins were thrown into brief chaos, which was exactly the opportunity that Tokas had been waiting for.
"A full-scale counterattack! For Macragge! For the Emperor!"
The Ultramarines surged out of their fortifications like a tidal wave. The roar of bolters and the howl of chainswords echoed across the battlefield. Sister Celestine led her Purifier squad straight into the heart of the enemy lines, flamethrowers turning surviving war trucks into moving fireballs. The Orc leaders attempted to organize a counterattack, but the Greenskins, having lost their numerical advantage, were quickly divided and surrounded.
In the center of the battlefield, Tokas encountered his last resistance—five well-equipped orc leaders guarding a massive orc war machine.
That mech was clearly made from the remains of several Imperial Knights, plus modifications of an old Imperial Titan.
Its left arm is a rusty power claw, while its right arm is equipped with an exaggerated rotary cannon, a classic orc style.
"I am the Great Bone Crusher!" the orc warlord roared through the megaphone. "Let's have a good fight!"
Four King Joe bodies suddenly flew over in front of him and then combined to form a giant golden robot. The Pedanium ray gun in its hand aimed at the smaller, dilapidated mech in front of it and then fired.
The exploding cannon shattered the mech's right arm, and the orc's tattered mech exploded completely. Boom! Boom! Boom!
The poor orc warlord inside hadn't even reacted before he was blasted to pieces, and the orc battle mechs that had just appeared were instantly annihilated.
Meanwhile, the remaining King Bridges began to combine on the battlefield, transforming into towering golden giants that launched an attack on the orc army on the ground.
With the warlord fallen, the remaining orcs finally began to flee, but Second Company Commander Tokas knew this was far from over—the orc spores buried in the ground would soon give birth to new greenskins. He looked at the still-falling drop pod in the distance and gripped his power sword, stained with green blood.
"Clean up the battlefield and burn every corpse," the Ultramarines company commander ordered over the communicator. "We absolutely cannot let these vile greens grow back."
Their reproduction rate is rapid; every orc's corpse must be cleaned, and all land touched by orcs must be thoroughly cleaned.
The dark clouds in the sky were stained crimson by the flames of war, as if foreshadowing more bloody battles to come.
Meanwhile, in the soil at the edge of the battlefield, a tiny orc spore was quietly sprouting.
But they were immediately burned by Imperial soldiers with flamethrowers, so that these orcs would not be given another chance to grow back. The Empire and the Ork orcs were old rivals.
With the space force landing on the ground, the outcome of the battle was no longer in doubt.
More than twenty hours later, the last orc warship was reduced to space dust by the Imperial fleet, and all the green-skinned bastards that could move on the planet's surface had been cleared away by the ground forces.
Calgar stood on the bridge, gazing at the gradually calming battlefield. This war was won by their Ultramarines.
