Chapter 462 The Young Man Leaves (Part 3) (Bonus Chapter)
As soon as he stepped out of the cabin, Li's eyes instantly tensed up.

He saw groups of fog-covered corpses rushing towards him from outside the wooden house.

If he and Xiao Jinsheng hadn't come out, they wouldn't have been able to hide in this wooden house for long, and they would have easily been surrounded by fog corpses.

"Hurry up," Li whispered to Xiao Jinsheng, looking for a direction free of fog-covered corpses.

Xiao Jinsheng could not see the fog corpses through the thick fog, but he could hear their roars.

My heart was pounding with nervousness and fear, but my feet were moving incredibly fast as I ran away.

It was during this escape that Xiao Jinsheng discovered he couldn't shake off these fog corpses no matter what he did.

They finally managed to shake them off, but before they could even rest for an hour, wandering fog corpses would find them again and slowly gather around.

After hiding for another two days, the first-aid kit ran out of medicine no matter how sparingly it was used up.

The thick fog still hadn't dissipated.

The two were forced to live a life on the run, surviving by picking wild fruits.

Wild fruits are not so easy to find.

After finally shaking off a wave of fog-covered corpses, we found two wild fruits on a tree.

Li handed both the green and red fruits to Xiao Jinsheng: "Eat them."

After he finished speaking, he looked around, trying to find other food. Unfortunately, the only food he had were these two wild fruits.

Actually, it's easier to find food inside the forest.

However, he is currently injured, and there are mutated beasts inside the forest.

Taking Xiao Jinsheng in is tantamount to sending her to her death.

Xiao Jinsheng carefully wiped the fruit, smelled the red one, and then smelled the green one.

Finally, he handed the red one, which smelled sweeter, to Li: "You eat this one."

Li glanced at the red fruit and shook her head: "I don't need it."

“Just eat it. It’s sweet, not sour,” Xiao Jinsheng explained. “I’ve already smelled it.”

"I don't like sweets," Li refused.

I knew the boy was trying to find an excuse to give me food.

Seeing that he was making excuses, Xiao Jinsheng handed him the green fruit again: "Then eat this one, it must be sour."

"I don't like sour foods either," the boy shook his head again.

Xiao Jinsheng gritted his teeth, feeling both angry and warm inside.

What angered her was that the boy completely disregarded his own physical condition; he had been starving all day, and his stomach was still growling, yet he found an excuse to give her food.

"Fine, if you don't want to eat it, I've already eaten it all," Xiao Jinsheng said angrily, holding a fruit in each hand and taking a bite out of the middle of each.

The young man looked at her with red eyes, and when he met her fierce gaze, he couldn't suppress the smile on his lips.

After eating half of each of the two fruits, Xiao Jinsheng turned his head and exclaimed in surprise, "Look, there's a rabbit!"

"Where!" Li asked, but instead of seeing the rabbit, two half-eaten fruits were offered to his mouth.

The fruit wasn't big enough to fit completely into my mouth.

Xiao Jinsheng could only let both fruits touch Li's mouth. When the boy looked back at her, she pretended to be disgusted and said, "What should we do now? You've already touched the fruit, I'm not going to eat it."

"Besides, I've tasted it for you. It's neither sour nor sweet when you eat it mixed together. You can eat it."

"Eat quickly." Seeing that the boy wouldn't take the fruit, Xiao Jinsheng took the fruit and fed it directly to his mouth.

The boy's red eyes gazed at Xiao Jinsheng, who had come closer and gone to great lengths to share her food, and his heart was filled with warmth.

"Mmm." He lowered his head and carefully bit into the fruit using the hand that Xiao Jinsheng was feeding him.

Seeing that the boy was finally willing to eat, even if he was fed by himself, Xiao Jinsheng was still happy and smiled.

They didn't even dare to shake their hands and say they wouldn't feed him anymore, letting him eat by himself.

So that the young man won't make excuses again, saying he doesn't like certain foods.

After eating half a sour fruit and half a sweet fruit, the two of them, who had been hungry all night, finally felt a little better.

Look out for the fog-covered corpses that may appear on the outskirts of the forest.

Then he looked into the forest, wondering if he might encounter any mutated beasts.

Fortunately, we are currently in the eastern part of the fog, where fog corpses only appear randomly when the fog is thick.

Moreover, he discovered that the Fog Corpse seemed to be able to find Xiao Jinsheng by smell.

Thinking of this possibility, the boy turned his head to look at Xiao Jinsheng. Noticing the boy's gaze, Xiao Jinsheng looked up at him with a grin: "What's wrong?"

"Come here." The boy reached out to Xiao Jinsheng. As Xiao Jinsheng approached, the boy grabbed her tightly and said, "Let's go inside the forest. There are mutated beasts inside, so there will be fewer fog corpses and it will be easier to find food."

If Xiao Jinsheng really does attract the fog corpses.

It can't be that unlucky as to attract even mutated beasts, right?
Therefore, by staying away from the places where the fog corpses appeared and going into the forest to fight back, the young man was more confident that he could protect Xiao Jinsheng and help him survive.

Fearing that Xiao Jinsheng would get lost, Li walked ahead, holding a long stick in one hand and grabbing Xiao Jinsheng's wrist tightly with the other.

Watching the boy's reliable figure walk away in front of him, Xiao Jinsheng smiled and quickened his pace, pulling his hand onto his shoulder: "I'll support you, give you some leverage."

I already had an injury on my leg.

With her by my side, things will be easier.

Recalling the fifteen days of her childhood escape, Xiao Jinsheng reached out and cupped Li's cheeks: "I want to eat wild fruits that are both sour and sweet."

"Then we'll have to go back to the Misty Continent to pick them." Hearing Xiao Jinsheng's words, and understanding that she had completely remembered him, Li's eyes also revealed undisguised joy.

He lowered his head and kissed Xiao Jinsheng on the lips before asking expectantly, "Besides the sweet and sour wild fruits, what else came to mind?"

“I remembered you and asked you to marry me,” Xiao Jinsheng replied with a smile.

"Really!" Li looked at her in surprise, his heart pounding and his whole body overflowing with joy.

Xiao Jinsheng remembered that it was the tenth day of their escape.

The young man had already led her into the heart of the forest, where they caught a pheasant that hadn't mutated.

They also found an abandoned cave where they could stay.

While firelight can scare away wild beasts, it will attract fog-covered corpses.

So the young man hurriedly roasted the pheasant, then quickly extinguished the fire and led Xiao Jinsheng into the cave.

The cave was dark, without a single ray of light.

Xiao Jinsheng felt as if he were in the abyss of a giant beast, devouring his last meal.

She could only suppress her fear and try to move closer to the boy.

It provides warmth, someone to lean on, and eliminates the fear of darkness.

"Here, take this." Seeing that Xiao Jinsheng was afraid of the dark, Li handed him the red gem he had found in the river while cleaning pheasants.

The Blood Demon Gem landed in Xiao Jinsheng's palm, shimmering with dazzling light.

Although it cannot provide light, it can soothe a frightened heart in the darkness.

"You like these stones?" Li Jianxiao Jinsheng held the red gemstones tightly in his hands.

"Yes, I like it." Xiao Jinsheng nodded repeatedly.

"Once the fog clears, I'll take you back to a safe place, and I'll find you more red stones," the boy promised.

“Okay, then I want lots and lots of these stones,” Xiao Jinsheng reminded him with a smile.

Seeing the boy nod, she leaned her head on his shoulder and asked, "After you come of age, the terminal will match you with a beast husband. Will you become my beast husband?"

This was a question the boy had considered long ago, but...

He pursed his lips and said in a weak voice, "I was... kicked out because of the terminal's obsolescence."

People like him, who were eliminated and driven out, are different from the beastmen who were released from childhood to survive on their own.

The terminal will not match him with a female partner.

"Then you can come find me," Xiao Jinsheng said with a smile, trying to comfort him.

Meeting the boy's bewildered gaze, she explained, "The terminal's matching is random; who knows if I can match you with my beast husband?"

"Since the terminals are incompatible, you can come find me yourself."

There will be no updates on June 19th. Starting June 20th, there will be 3 updates per day, just in time for the finale. Goodnight, my darlings!

It's really annoying. I've held back for a long time, but I've decided to say something harsh anyway.

Watch if you like, leave if you don't.
I will not accept any behavior that interferes with or instructs my creative process.

I only write what I think.

If you think my post is low-quality or that I have any other opinions, you can delete it or block me. There's no need to keep saying that.
No matter how much you say, I won't see it. The operations manager will clean it all up, and at most, they'll summarize it and mention it to me so I know about it.
There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's hearts.
If you say you don't like it written this way, and he says he doesn't like it written that way, and everyone has their own opinion, and the author writes according to your preferences, then is it still the same story as it was in the beginning?
I won't change it. Call me a liar, criticize me, I'm going to write it exactly as I initially planned.
It was supposed to be nearing its end, with the plot mainly focused on filling in the plot holes.
Some say writing a story is just filler, some say filling plot holes is just filler, some say writing slice-of-life stories is just filler. Just go read commissioned stories.

When Shi Xie first appeared, some people said it was unreasonable for him to become a beastman.
He broke up with the female lead to get married, and then cursed her.

I can't possibly spoil the plot since there are still unresolved foreshadowing elements.

There are many more, but I'm too lazy to mention them all.
  Impressed
