Vikings: Nordic women

Chapter 27: A look of worthlessness

Chapter 27: A Worthless Look

"It's Madam Yar and Duti (referring to noble women) who raided the territory this time!" Ou Ni reminded.

She let out a breath and held it back.

This is very important, as it is related to her persuading Yar of Sloms Falls to surrender. No accidents can happen.

"Madam, Sir Ralph ordered them all to be locked up in the dungeon!" the maid replied.

Sigma man!
Ounnie rolled her eyes and secretly despised the cold-bloodedness of Ralph and the others. Two such beautiful women were actually locked up in a dirty, cold and depressing dungeon.

She had some impressions of Marin and Anna from their conversation last night. She felt that they should be well-educated women.

An idea flashed through her mind that perhaps she could set up a literacy class and allow these educated women to play a role in teaching officers and prospective officers.

It doesn't matter how well educated they are, they must at least be able to understand written orders. It's not okay for a bunch of illiterate people to not even understand military orders. She didn't teach them in person before just because it was too troublesome.

After closing the door and sitting on the exclusive wooden barrel, Ouni let out a long sigh, her face slightly reddening at the sound.

The panic feeling also subsided!

After coming out, Ouni let down her skirt and looked relaxed. Her stomach was growling with hunger. She was really thirsty and hungry.

After drinking some honey water, her dizziness symptoms were much better, and she stood up and walked out the door. However, when she crossed the threshold, she tripped, stepped on the hem of her skirt, stumbled a few steps, and almost fell.

"How terrible!" She complained softly, holding onto the door edge to steady herself.

Almost embarrassing herself, she realized that she was not fit to walk around in her hungover state, but to her surprise, she sobered up very quickly.

She made her way to the public canteen, where the women who stayed behind were already busy. They were making barley cakes, sticking the kneaded cakes on the brick walls of the cake kiln, and then shoveling in charcoal to start baking.

Ouni waved her hand and told the women to bring a large pot and set it on the campfire. She personally supervised the slaughter of a deer in the barn, chopped it into pieces and put it into the pot to boil.

At the same time, she did not forget to add various Chinese cooking seasoning substitutes such as "Kernsmonita Herb" to slightly enhance the taste of the soup, but she did not add it randomly.

As the soup in the pot bubbled, Ouni felt her appetite grow. She scooped some with a spoon, sniffed the aroma and exclaimed, "It smells so good!"

"Madam, bowl!" A smart female helper handed over the wooden bowl in time.

Ou Ni took the bowl and served herself a bowl of steaming hot soup. She blew on the hot air while taking small sips of it.

Although it was hot, she could feel the deliciousness and warmth of the soup. Her stomach felt warm. It was so delicious!

Just then, a woman brought in some barley cakes and looked at Ouni awkwardly.

Ounnie nibbled on the sweet and crispy barley cake, looked up, and realized that the other party seemed to want something.

She asked as kindly as she could, "Do you have anything else to do?"

The woman hesitated a little and said, "It's okay..."

Ouni encouraged, "It's okay, I don't mind, you can say whatever you want."

The female helper's eyes lit up and she said, "It is true. My husband died in the Viking battle last year in the coastal area of Ross. I saw that you brought back many men from outside. Can you let me choose a husband?"

She added: "I want the strong one!"

"It has to be beautiful!" she added.

Ouni was stunned for a moment, then she understood the other person's idea. She replied: "Then you can go and have a look. It's in the house where I used to live in the blacksmith shop. If you like someone, ask him/her if he/she is willing. If he/she is willing, you can take him/her away!"

"Thank you!" said the woman gratefully.

Ouni waved her hand nonchalantly and continued to drink her soup. However, she soon found herself surrounded by a group of women with sparkling eyes.

"Madam, we..." They hesitated to speak.

Ouni understood immediately, was speechless for a moment, and waved her hand: "Okay! I agree!"

The group of women were overjoyed and quickly dispersed, fearing that if they ran too slowly they would not be able to grab the strong man and leave Ounnie alone.

Looking at the empty cafeteria, she was a little unhappy: "Look at you guys, you look so worthless!"

Ouni watched them leave. Aren't those men going to be eaten alive by these ferocious women? There are more women than men. She was worried that those men would do something illegal when they got together, but now it seems a bit unnecessary.

They would love it that way.

After the food entered her stomach, she felt much happier. Eunice smiled happily and continued to enjoy her soup.

So fresh!

She was about to leave, but was attracted by the sound of quarreling in the east, and curiosity made her stop.

"He's mine!" screamed a woman in an apron.

"I saw him first!" Another woman was not to be outdone.

The two glared at each other, one of them holding the hand of the tall bearded man. The man looked strong, but was being pulled back and forth by the two women. His clothes were tattered, but he seemed to enjoy the struggle, like a "rafflesia" swaying in the breeze.

When they walked up to Eunnie, a suffocating smell of body odor hit her in the face, almost making her vomit her breakfast.

"That's right, ma'am, I saw it first!" a woman said angrily.

After seeing Ouni, the man looked at her in amazement. But Ouni, who was used to the "critical" eyes of others, didn't care.

It seems that in this society with more women than men, her worries are unnecessary. Now she is only worried about whether the yang energy of these men is enough for the widows in the territory to absorb. It won't take long for them to turn into mummies, right?
"No, ma'am, don't listen to her. I was the one who caught him first!" the other woman argued.

"Would you like to marry two wives?" Ouni didn't look at the two women, but at the man, "Or choose one of them!"

"No, ma'am, I'm sorry to refuse!" The man stepped forward and stared at her, his eyes shining.

"Thank the gods for giving me the honor of meeting you!" The other person took a step forward, opened his arms, and knelt on one knee, as if embracing the sky. But in Ouni's eyes, he looked like a blooming and stinking Rafflesia. "This must be the arrangement of Queen Frigga, for you and me to meet!"

He took a step back to avoid the strong body odor and covered his mouth and nose.

"Please allow me to offer my sincere love to your beautiful self!" he said with a wink.

Ouni looked at him deeply, and said with a half-smile: "You don't seem to know who I am?"

"If I am lucky enough to know your name, I will remember it for the rest of my life!" He covered his heart.

Thinking of something, the smile on her face widened. She looked around and waved to Ralph, Robert and others who were arguing about something in the distance.

Ralph and Robert looked over, trotting over and immediately bowing: "Madam? What do you want?"

"Madam?" The man was surprised.

"What are you arguing about?" She ignored the strange man and asked Ralph curiously.

"Robert and I have discussed this and feel that you don't need to go to those villages in person. We can be responsible for bringing all the captives back!" Ralph glanced at the man who was frozen in place, and looked at Eunice expectantly.

Ou Ni chewed the barley cake in her mouth, but shook her head and directly rejected his proposal.

"Aren't you going to capture the rest of the villagers?" Ralph seemed a little disappointed.

"No! You can't go now. I will send soldiers to capture everyone back in a week!"

"why?"

“The village is not far away, and the fire in Sloms Falls town last night has already given a warning to the people in its subordinate villages, and some people in those villages will retreat and hide in the forest after seeing the thick smoke.

If we had chosen to go there last night, we would not only fail to catch them but would also easily alarm them! It would be better to go there after they feel everything is alright!"

"And..." Ralph looked at the man with a frozen face, "He is not one of us, and he heard our military secrets."

The man looked at her in horror: "No, sir, I didn't mean it!"

"Would you like to do me a favor?" Ounnie squatted in front of him, pulled out the dagger from Ralph's waist, hooked the man's chin, and asked.

"Please give me your orders!" The man was forced to look up under the sharp blade of the dagger.

"Very good, I want you to report to Jarl of Slomsfalls, the town where the Vikings have returned, something I want him to know! For example, his wife and sister are in my hands!"
