Chapter 330 Akai Shuichi's Invitation
Chapter 330 Shuichi Akai's Invitation (2 Updates)
Inside the presidential suite of a luxury hotel, heavy curtains shut out the Tokyo night.
A dozen FBI agents stood silently scattered throughout the living room, a tense and oppressive atmosphere filling the air.
Carmel paced anxiously back and forth, his boots making a dull thud on the carpet. He glanced every now and then at the closed bedroom door, where an important video conference was taking place.
The crisp sound of a lighter came from the balcony. Shuichi Akai lit a cigarette and began to puff out smoke while looking at the Tokyo night view.
Judy sat on the sofa, rubbing her temples with a serious expression, and unconsciously murmured, "This is the third time this month."
No one answered.
Everyone knew that the recent series of attacks had already cost them four colleagues.
What's even more frustrating is that they have absolutely no clue who the killer is!
Shuichi Akai leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window, his dark green eyes reflecting the city lights outside. He slowly turned the lighter in his hand, the metal casing gleaming coldly under the light.
As one of the few who knew the truth, he had to carefully control every expression and every word he spoke.
With a creak, the bedroom door finally opened.
James walked out with a solemn expression, each step he took was unusually heavy.
"How is it?" Carmel was the first to rush forward, his voice tinged with urgency and uncertainty: "Does the police have any leads?"
James shook his head, took off his glasses and wiped them: "The attackers were very professional; they left no trace!"
"That's impossible!" Carmel slammed his fist against the wall, his knuckles turning white. "How could someone evade the police in Tokyo? That assassin must be connected to them!"
He turned to the crowd, his eyes burning with fury: "If you ask me, just arrest those police officers and interrogate them!! If they don't cooperate, teach them a lesson! Let them know that the FBI isn't someone to be trifled with!"
Shuichi Akai raised an eyebrow almost imperceptibly.
This reckless big guy unexpectedly hit the nail on the head regarding the truth.
He gently exhaled a smoke ring and remained silent.
"Are you crazy?" Judy stood up from the sofa, trying to remain calm. "Our movements here are already restricted. If we clash with the police again, what will happen to our investigation?"
"Are we just going to stand by and watch our comrades get killed?" Carmel roared, veins bulging on his neck.
James raised his hand to signal the two to calm down: "Judy is right, now is not the time to act impulsively."
He glanced around at everyone, finally fixing his gaze on Shuichi Akai. "Akai, what are your thoughts?"
The room fell silent. All eyes were fixed on that tall, slender figure.
Shuichi Akai calmly stubbed out his cigarette, his voice chillingly calm: "Have you noticed that the assassins' firepower is decreasing?"
Everyone was stunned for a moment, not expecting the other party to say this.
"From initially using submachine guns and RPGs, engaging in a frenzied pursuit," Shuichi Akai slowly walked to the center of the living room. "Now, they're only using handguns, targeting only lone agents. What does that mean?"
Carmel frowned and asked, "What does this have to do with our investigation of the killer?"
“That means he’s running out of ammunition.” Shuichi Akai stopped in front of Camel and patiently explained, “I estimate the assassin’s attack will stop soon.”
Upon hearing this, Judy said somewhat unwillingly, "Shuichi, do you mean we're just going to let it go like this?"
"Are you kidding me!" several agents shouted simultaneously. A burly man with a crew cut slammed his fist on the table and stood up. "What about our fallen comrades?"
Akai Shuu scanned the crowd expressionlessly, his gaze like a sharp blade.
He was speechless: If you had that ability, you would have caught the killer long ago. What are you still shouting about here?
They have no skills, yet they keep shouting everywhere... When will we be able to take down the Black Organization if we team up with this bunch of scum?
“Wait,” Akai Hide said expressionlessly. “Wait for him to come to me.”
The noise in the room stopped abruptly.
No one expected that Shuichi Akai would actually use himself as bait!
Judy's face turned deathly pale instantly. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
She suddenly realized that her words had put the other person in a dangerous situation!
She wanted to slap herself twice... Why did she have to say something extra?
In that instant, Judy was filled with regret! James pondered for a moment, then solemnly said to Shuichi Akai, "Be extremely careful, safety first. If you sense anything amiss, evacuate immediately."
Shuichi Akai nodded slightly and casually picked up the black trench coat from the sofa. Amidst the complicated gazes of the others, he walked towards the door without looking back.
Judy wanted to chase after him, but she had only taken two steps when she heard Shuichi Akai say, "I'm going to do this alone, so don't hold me back!"
After saying that, he opened the door and left.
Judy stopped in her tracks, her fists clenched so tightly that her nails dug deep into her palms, filled with deep regret!
Carmel looked at her hesitantly, then finally just sighed heavily.
As Shuichi Akai walked towards the elevator, he took out his phone and sent a text message to the thug, asking him to contact him after seeing the message.
To his surprise, his phone rang as soon as he arrived at the parking lot.
Shuichi Akai answered the phone and heard it was the thug calling. He said, "Do you have time to meet? I need your help."
........................
"Okay, I'll go over now."
After Shiraishi hung up the phone, Akemi, who was leaning against him, said, "It's so late, are you still going out?"
"Then can you let me stay?" Shiraishi E looked at Akemi with a playful expression.
Akemi blushed and didn't answer. She also wanted to keep the other person with her, but unfortunately, she didn't have the ability to do so!
So she said, "Then you need to be careful."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." After reassuring Akemi for a couple of minutes, Shiraishi E opened the room without putting on any clothes.
Instead of wearing his old clothes, he bought new ones directly from the bandit mall. In addition, even his vehicle was brand new.
Considering that these are all disposable items, Shiraishi E didn't buy anything too expensive.
Just get any Mazda that gets stuck in traffic.
Half an hour later, Shiraishi E arrived at a private bar located on the basement floor.
However, there was a "Temporarily Closed" sign hanging at the entrance of the bar.
Shiraishi ignored it and went straight inside.
Once inside, he saw Shuichi Akai temporarily acting as a bartender at the bar, skillfully twirling the shaker.
The metal container traced a smooth arc in his palm. The crisp sound of ice cubes clinking together was particularly pleasant in the quiet bar.
Since she wasn't using her own face, Shiraishi E walked up to him quite openly and said with a smile, "I didn't expect you could mix drinks."
Shuichi Akai said while shaking his head, "Back then, in order to get closer to my target, I spent three months infiltrating the most prestigious bar in Las Vegas."
"Back then, I had to memorize dozens of cocktail recipes every day, practice shaking techniques, and successfully pass the bartender certification exam."
"And this certificate saved my life, preventing me from being exposed."
"Martini, would you like some?" He pushed the prepared drink toward the table, the bottom of the glass making a slight clinking sound on the wooden table.
The lemon peel decoration on the rim of the glass is curled just right, glistening with a delicate sheen under the light.
Shiraishi was deeply impressed; professional secret agents are truly different.
Skills that ordinary people spend a lot of time and effort to learn, others can master easily.
Without some talent, you're not even qualified to be a secret agent.
